Maybe he felt his body being left to rot in a fallen out cave by the Konoha Nin was out of line. xD

I'm betting that it is just plain another attempt at confusing us about the identity of Tobi. And now that you think about it, it could have very well been directed at Gai.

Defiantly took it as being directed to Guy, sense if I recall correctly he could not remember who Kisame was.
