Eric Nara vs Ichirou Senju (Round 2)
« on: December 02, 2014, 02:01:36 PM »

Current Rules as of 09-24-14 Subject to revision

ºRulesº
Like any other zone fight, rules are established as support for completing the quarrel without need for troubles to arise. Those basic rules are also adopted into host-challenges. The rules are as follows [unless agreed upon both parties (with proof) to be something otherwise]

ºNo Auto-Hittingº
Auto-Hitting is recognized as being a direct action following through without consent of the opposing party.

ºNo God-Moddingº
God-Modding has been recognized as an incorrect claim of one or more super-powers incapable of one's possession or against what one's character establishes. Several other things have been regarded God-Modding such as dodging every attack, extreme maneuvers & such. If God-Modding should occur, the opposing party will object to it & things can be negotiated from there.

ºHosts are allowed to use their tailsº
There should be no arguments about a host using their Biju's abilities. However, the claim of utilizing all of their tails, if it seems unfit for them, due to period of time with the Biju, can be negotiable [but must be maintained brief]. Furthermore, other rules can be negotiated between both parties. I.E. Rules such as the number of contestants versus the host [? v. the host (1)] can also be negotiated, etc.

ºGrace Periodº
After any challenge (& loss) from a challenger, a week must be given to the host before challenging them to a rematch (the one week grace period is in subject to a single challenger & as such does not signify a host can ignore challenges from all others during the time period). In cases such as obtaining a Biju for oneself, a 2-week grace period is granted In order to “commune” with one’s Biju. If a host shows inactivity for long periods of time (two weeks or more) without prior notice, you can report their missing & conference of a suitable host will take place when possible.

ºChallenge Limitationsº
You may only challenge the same host for the same bijuu once every three months.

Current host: Eric Nara

Affiliation: Akatsuki/Missing Ninja

Preferred Method: OOC 1v1 match

Special rules

-The match is to be 1v1, though summons and the like are permitted.

-Victory for the challenger is the defeat of the host through any means necessary, and vice versa. Death in the fight does not equate to death IC.

-Skills acquired during an OOC match are not carried over IC.

-If, by some chance, the match should reach a point of true stalemate after a minimum of 12 turns or 30 days (the criteria to be used depending on the progression of the fight) then a judge may be called in to determine a winner based on how the fight has progressed up to this point. Both participants must request this of the judge in person (no he said we could or she said we might, the judge must receive a response from both participants). If this is chosen, then the judge may declare a  winner based on these criteria:

*Who effectively manipulated the flow of the battle the best? The strategy employed (based on the posts) may have been defensive and attrition-based, but was it effective in the long run in wearing down the opponent?

*What caused the stalemate? The challenger being unable to defeat the challenged, or vice versa? Is it constant cancellation of jutsu and techniques by both sides, or merely one side taking refuge in a relatively inaccessible area (such as pocket dimension) in order to avoid defeat entirely?

*Who showed the greatest skill in the fight? This is completely and utterly at the discretion of the judge. Their decision is final on the matter, regardless of accusations of cheating or bribery or otherwise. This should be kept in mind when deciding on a judge for the fight.

If neither side can be conclusively declared the winner, then the fight either proceeds or a draw is declared. Note, this is a technical victory for the host, so unless the challenger truly believes that a restart is necessary to increase victory chances, then it is not recommended to settle for a draw without reviewing this process a second time.

-Is willing to fight either at SL or on the SL forum, the latter option most useful for fights where long periods of time may pass between postings (and also serves as a record of the fight's progress for other challengers)

- Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are the preferred days for zoning. Times vary by week, so see host for details.

- In the event that a host is defeated, the new host has the cooldown challenge period timeframe to either accept the special regulations for the tailed beast or completely re-write or alter the special rules. If they do not post their own variant by the beginning of the next challenge, then it is to be assumed that they comply with the previous special regulations.

If you wish to make a challenge, post below stating the name of your in-game character, compliance or wish to negotiate with the above stipulations from the host, and preferred zone. After that, communication will mostly be in private messages through a necessary medium.

Any questions or concerns should be directed in PM's as to avoid cluttering unnecessarily this thread. Thanks in advance.

*Note, for future reference, it was technically against the current main rules to allow Ichirou to challenge again earlier than 3 months, but there was hardly any objection to it when the situation was brought up. This exception, however, means that if Ichirou was to lose this time, then he would be locked from challenging again for 6 months instead of 3.

Again, Kamui is the judge unless otherwise posted (or otherwise necessary due to absence or worse).

The zone is Green Lands, (Aka forest). Since this is your second time challenging, then as host I will go first this time. Post acceptance or a request to negotiate any of the above terms.

Green Lands. The Forest. Home. Eric had many fond names for the place that he once called home. He recalled when he could just relax underneath the wide canopy of trees and just enjoy a gentle breeze. Now he could only find rocky outcroppings and crisp gusts that reminded him of Wind Country without all of the sand.

Indeed, the forest was the man's home. It was evening time, though one would be hard pressed to tell with the heavy cloud cover above. The sun cast the shadow of the clouds across the entire landscape, although it would take experience in order to take advantage of it. A breeze gently blew, rustling the leaves and softly caressing the grass that managed to somehow sprout despite the very thick canopy above filtering only a small amount of light to the ground below. Indeed, the forest was almost unnaturally dark for this time of day.

The forest itself was rather thick, and while home for the Nara, he was also aware that this was somewhat home for his opponent as well, in the sense that he knew of his opponent's ability with Mokuton. Then again, last time, he had seen a scorpion wielding fire release and his quarry utilizing water release and an onslaught of Kamui.

It was that Kamui that caused Eric to choose this particular battlefield. Here, there were so many trees to use as cover, temporary or no, and the shade would make it more difficult to get a good track on him. Though, considering the sharingan, it would not be too difficult, but Eric had intentions on abusing this terrain far better than when he was in the city. With his sensory connection to his shadow and the shadows connected to it either passively or actively, he would be able to detect his opponent's presence on the battlefield as long as his shadow was under some blanket of shadows.

He wore his Akatsuki cloak, the black at least being more suitable to the darkness, though the crimson red still had that sore thumb feel to it. The color was not as bright as if direct light were shining on it, but it still didn't blend in as well as the deerskin jacket and Leaf Jonin attire underneath the cloak. He still had the holsters for his chakra blades, his tool pouches, and a scroll labelled "Shadow Seal".

Mildly hidden within the canopy of one of the trees, the man was about 15 feet off the ground. He waited for his opponent with a certain lack of enthusiasm, having far less eagerness to engage a second go round so soon.

Well thank you, i'll send you the post, if it's no trouble could you do the colors as well?

Ichirou would make his way to the forest, having spotted it far in the distance and formed a clay owl to make his approach. Nothing was harmful about this clay owl, no tricks or ploys. It was simply for transport. He looked rather different from his appearance in his last encounter with Eric. His hair had turned white from a particularly straining sparring session. and he had cut it much shorter. He wore dark tactical gear. The only color on him other than black, was the red band tied around his left arm which bore the Uzumaki crest, showing his allegiance to the clan. Attached to his belt were many large pouches, holding various ninja tools and an extensive amount of clay collectively, though this would be currently unknown. It may not be possible for his opponent to see at this distance, but there was a scroll holder attached to the small of his back, bearing his three jutsu scrolls. Are bearing the same kanji, which if seen, it could be deciphered that the Kanji on the scrolls stood for barrier. As he would fly into the gloomy forest zone, his shadow would mostly rest on the top of the trees, due to the rather thick condition of the leaves. Ichirou remained airborn for now, scanning the area with his Sharingan, and awaiting a sign of his opponent.

[Eric's reply]

And so it was, that as some time passed, Eric tapped into the sensory connection that his shadow offered. He was intended on finding disturbances in the blanketed environment, to find some sign of his opponent while he hid among the trees.

Kagemane no Kanchi; Shadow Imitation Sensing

To his dismay, his opponent could be detected some distance in height from the actual forest. Once again, his opponent seemed to be intending on using height in order to stay out of reach for as long as possible. This time, however, those efforts would not be nearly as effective as they were last time.

As a gentle breeze blew by, Eric placed a hand to the bark of the tree, forcefully using his chakra to curse the shadow of the battlfield. This would, quintessentially, include the shadow of his opponent. Since anything that breaks off of the large shadow would also be cursed, presuming he was successful, even the dispersion of the cloud cover could not break Eric's battlefield control.

Kagemane no noroi; Shadow Manipulation Curse

However, as the man had learned from last time, just cursing his foe was not enough. His chakra usage would most likely give away his relative position, and though the canopy prevented a direct line of sight, it still was an unfortunate giveaway of sorts to his location. As a result, shortly after this cursing action, Eric would begin to hop through the trees, keeping the dense canopy between him and his opponent's line of sight at all times.

Ichirou would indeed see the chakra dispersed by eric, unsure of it's actual goal but assuming it had a purpose. No one would release chakra like that for no reason, however for now he would still be unsure of the exact technique utilized in this instance.

Ichirou's shadow would be cursed once again, as in their first encounter. however Ichirou was much more prepared this time, and at the slightest sign of Eric's chakra in any shadow's around him, he would react quickly and precisely. Though he was unsure if the Shadow technique had been used at this point, it was safe to say that his opponent would be utilizing these techniques again in this round 2.

For now, Ichirou would take no direct action as he had no confirmed location, he would instead begin to circle a large area that included the center of the chakra emission. And he began encircling the area he would tap a small sealing tag on his right arm, which would equip his Melody arm in a plume of smoke, on his right arm. As he would equip his porous gauntlet, He would also reach with his left hand to a Kunai pouch and recover three kunai from within, though it would be unknown to his opponent at this point, all of his Kunai -as well as any other ninja tool- are marked with his special seal. He would wait for a little longer to see sign of his opponent, before taking further action to locate him.

Sensing his opponent's movements, Eric had to think carefully about his next move. His opponent's most critical asset were his eyes, and regardless of those kunai, he was going to use them. He could attempt to use fuinjutsu again, but he did not want to be predictable. His opponent had a very wide array of potential moves that could counter his; this had been proven the last time they fought. And once again, a drawn out fight was not to his advantage.

He needed to get rid of those assets. But how? He could temporarily blind him using the hiding in darkness technique, but based on his flight pattern, Ichirou already had a general idea at least on where Eric was. That meant that he was very likely to throw those kunai at him.

Which meant he needed to act soon, or lose the element of surprise. Performing the rat handseal, the man would manipulate the necessary shadow cover (which again, blankets the entire battlefield, including Ichirou's "own" shadow if you will) in order to attempt two things.

One, he would attempt to create a series of very sharp, very pinpoint shadow needles that would be aimed to pierce both of Ichiriou's eyes. Because of the proximity of the shadow, it would take beyond lightning reflexes to take the time to physically dodge the attack, and merely blinking would not help. Indeed, by the time Ichirou saw the chakra manipulating the shadow needles suddenly appearing in a threat-like fashion, it would be too late for most things. Even Kamui would not be fast enough to warp him away to safety, although it might be fast enough to warp the actual needles away if Ichirou had few concerns about the dimensional portal opening so close to his pupils.

This first phase would be helpful to pass, but Eric's main bank was on the second phase. At the same time as the first, a second series of tendrils, thicker and more numerous, would descend from the shade of Ichirou's hair, intending on drilling into his skull and severely injuring him if not out right killing him. The speed of this attack would be similar to the last, but because most of these were happening out of Ichirou's line of sight (unless he could see the top of his own head, since Ichirou's hair is cut relatively short) it would be unlikely that Ichirou's counter for the first attack would also be intended to deal with the second.

Nara-Ryū no Sairento Kiringu; Nara Style Silent Killing

Eric knew that this was a rather underhanded attempt on Ichirou's life so early in the fight, but he had no wishes for a drawn-out fight. If Ichirou were to dodge, then he would be tensely prepared for the counter-attack, and for his own follow-up. He would need to keep up a strong, dangerous momentum in order to avoid stagnation, and preferably, avoid being forced onto the defensive. Such was the order of the day, for now.

Ichirou was ready for his opponents shadow techniques this time, having seen a small display of what they could do, and familiarizing himself with his opponents chakra during their last encounter. As the shadows would sprout from beneath him he would react quickly, not physically or by absorbing them in any way, but instead by utilizing his Sharingan in a different manner than he had used in their previous fight. He would not need to move or blink to activate his intangibility, no seals were required, and it took no time to prepare, while his shadow would remain in the world and the attacks would be executed, Ichirou would be uneffected by them as they passed through his body, he had spread his intangibility throughout himself instantly, excluding the bottom of his shoes, so that he may stand upon the owl still, The owl would shorten the size of the circle in which it was flying, slowly but surely he was locating his enemy, however due to the current state of affairs, Ichirou would be unable to unleash an attack. And would be forced to wait. Just a little longer.

Though the shadows did not emerge from below Ichirou, but rather above, it was admittedly rather startling to see his needles seemingly slip right into the man without actually damaging him.

Damn that Kamui. He had already been aware that it would be a pesky contender this match, but he had miscalculated his ability to surprise his opponent. Nonetheless, Eric assumed (incorrectly, but assumed all the same) that this intangibility would extend throughout the body and onto the clay bird. However, while attacking his opponent physically was not yet a viable option, he could still at the least harass him.

With Ichirou's general shadow area still present, Eric would use chakra to channel a command into the shadow. This command would trigger a fuinjutsu that would attempt to seal Ichirou in his
shadow once the man rematerialized.

Kagemane: Kagewana; Shadow Imitation: Shadow trap

Dejavu some might would say, but this time, things would be different; Eric did not know jusst how long his opponent could keep the intangibility up, so he did not want to risk keeping his focus and power extended, making him less flexible to react to his opponent. Once the trap was set, Eric would retract his attentions into his cloak, withdrawing from their holsters his chakra blades.

With these blades having also been cursed from earlier, Eric would not need to curse them a second time this match. Capable of manipulating their shadow from a distance, the man would hurl one of these down to the base of the tree he currently was at. This would be about 15 feet straight down.

As for the other, the man would hurl this one into a different section of the forest, to his left in fact. It would continue through until it would come to rest at a tree roughly 20 feet away, at roughly the same elevation (so within the canopy of that tree).

Presuming he was unharassed, and that the trap was not set off, then Eric would now sit and wait, ready to act against the potentially explosive clay bird or the potentially explosively tagged kunai that his quarry held.

Ichirou looked down to his lower shadow now, feeling as though his opponent had more for him other than a few stabs. Just in time to witness the chakra addition to his shadow, no doubt this served a purpose. It could be assumed that to set the trap in the shadow of Ichirou the chakra would need to be gathered there, allowing Ichirou to witness it and act accordingly. He had to use something to give him an advantage and hinder his opponent. And he thought he had just the thing. The Owl, being controlled via Ichirou's chakra, would now begin to fly downward, While Ichirou jumped off of it, allowing him to distance himself from the set of the technique, so should it still be able to activate, it would take much longer to suck him down upon reentering the physical world fully, He would then disable his intangibility, just in enough time to avoid an extensive cooldown, though he kept one all the same (1 turn cooldown) immediately upon reenter Ichirou would form the snake seal, and seemingly his body would vanish.

Miseigakure no Jutsu - Hiding with Camouflage Technique

Dejavu should strike his opponent as well, having used this same technique in the battle before. If he would remember right he would know that not only did this Technique turn Ichirou invisible, but his mastery of such technique removed not only his chakra signature, but his physical presence. if Ichirou understood this technique properly, it would remove a shadow from his form as well. which should restrict his opponents actions upon him.

While jumping from the clay bird would do nothing, the disappearance of the man's shadow would grant him a temporary asylum outside of his shadow.

For now. For eventually his foe would have to reveal themselves.

Nonetheless, Eric needed to keep his foe on the defensive. With the bird descending, possibly heading in his direction, Eric would leave from the tree canopy and land upon the ground. He would scoop up the chakra blade that he had embedded at the base of the original tree, return it to its holster and would then leap onto another tree, using his sensory connection with shadows to track the clay bird as it descended.

Noting the last known location and trajectory of his foe, Eric projected that, while his foe seemed to be a man of many skills, he did have one way to continued with tracking him. Performing a set of handsigns, Eric would surge his chakra into the nearby leaves, manipulating them for his usage. The many leaves would suddenly flutter and shake, much of the canopy getting a slight makeover as leaves left their trees and went into the air. Directly above the forest, and especially in the forest, Eric would create a chakra network of leaves bearing his signature; the Konoha styled cover against the sharingan's prying eyes.

Konoha no jutsu; Hidden in the Leaves Technique

Though he could hide his appearance, his quarry could not hide his physical form, unless he could be intangible and use the chameleon technique at the same time (which is unlikely, but not completely discounted). As a result, when his foe eventually entered the forest, or very well the canopy portion of the trees, he would brush up against the leaves, allowing Eric to detect and harass his quarry without having to snuff him out with the wind.

A burst of chakra would emit from Ichirou, possibly allowing him to be sensed if but for a moment as he would begin to levitate in order to maintain a position above the sensory extent of his ally.

Doton: Keijūgan no Jutsu: Earth Release: Lightweight Rock Technique

This jutsu would decrease Ichirou's weight to the point where he was gifted flight, which allowed him to move throughout the battlefield undetected, without giving away his position on the ground. However, his opponent had decided to set up a sensor trap in the form of the leaves, a very sensible means of countering this technique. This would cause Ichirou to take a different form of action, one that he could take from the sky. With the kunais he still gripped in his hand, he would tap the melody arm he wore, causing it to vibrate, these vibrations would be sustained and amplified with Ototon chakra, which Ichirou would continue to build for the time being. should he have been visible it would be notable that his gauntlet had began vibrating as his chakra flowed, and then his arm, and so on so forth as the vibrations were building in Ichirou's body as he charged the jutsu. Meaning that if he came into contact with the leaves he would be very noticeable, as the vibrations would be constantly aggravating the leaves

Nothing. Nothing again. Eric would have expected a body to drop into his "net" by now, but apparently, his opponent was no fool.

Well, this could mean one of two thing. One, he was using the Deva Path to fly/levitate. Or, he decided to make an exit. Due to the unlikelihood of his quarry outright abandoning the fight, Eric reached into his cloak, pulled out the scroll from earlier, and unravelled it. He would jump from the canopy to the ground, using limbs and such on his way down in order to avoid breaking anything. He would unravell the scroll and place it at his feet, which would activate the barrier technique stored within.

Kagewana: Mugen Hōyō ; Shadow Trap: Infinite Embrace

The barrier was not extensive in size, it only being large enough to cover his immediate surroundings (about 6 feet on all sides and 8 feet above. This barrier is cube-shaped) but  possessed the same three layers as last time:

1) The outermost would bind the shadow of objects or persons that came into contact with it. This layer may also absorb chakra, albeit, this effect is relatively slow when compared to things such as the Preta Path, but still fast enough to considerably weaken ninjutsu sent against the barrier.

2) The second layer would seal objects within the shadow of the barrier.

3) The third is a barrier of black chakra that would protrude black spikes if even the second layer were defeated.

Without interference, the barrier would last for 3 turns.

Unlike last time, however, Eric had no intentions on completely giving up the game. Performing a set of handsigns, Eric would create a shadow clone next to him, granting it half of his chakra pool for the time being. After all, he would soon enough have it restored to him.

Kage Bunshin no Jutsu; Shadow Clone Jutsu

This clone would then proceed to begin gathering natural energy in preparation for sage mode. The original, Eric, would keep watch for the return of Ichirou.

Turn 1 for natural energy gathering

*Cleaned up some description, such as the order in which scroll is unravelled and used.

Ichirou was currently unable to locate his opponents presence in the forest due to his chakra being most everywhere, however when he felt the gathering of Senjutsu chakra it allowed him to get a closer idea. Of course just like before Ichirou could not tell how much chakra had been absorbed over time, he could only sense the gathering of it, and once the gathering stopped, he would be unable to feel the presence of the sage. Just like in their first encounter. Ichirou knew he needed to act fast, but there was only so much he could do from this situation. He would decide to go ahead with his first plan of action, he would unleash the vibrations that had gathered through his body out of the seven holes atop of his Melody Arm, taking the form of a single note. This note would ring loudly throughout the area (especially since there was little to no other sound present currently) and would sustain for a few moments. Anyone other than Ichirou who would hear this sound would experience headaches fifty times worse than that of a migraine. Ears would pop if not bleed, and vision may be temporarily impaired. Ichirou would unleash this attack in an attempt to at the least cease his Senjutsu gathering. However unknown to Ichirou Eric was contained within a barrier, and a shadow clone was gathering the Senjutsu chakra, either way should the clone hear the sound it was quite possibly that it would not only disrupt it's gathering of senjutsu, but injure it to the point of dispersing. However the effects it would have on the original Eric would be unknown, as he was within his barrier.

As mentioned previously, the first and outermost layer of the barrier had the ability to absorb chakra, and would thus considerably weaken the incoming sound waves. The second layer would outright seal the soundwaves, stopping what was left of their strength from even reaching Eric and his clone.

Presuming that this defense was not up, however, Eric still had his sound filtering earbuds; a sound attack of this nature would have affected neither him nor his clone anyways, at least not through their ears. However, the vibrations caused by the sound waves would have resounded through the area, and would have had a source; by this, Eric would be able to determine, for a moment anyways, the exact location of his opponent.

Eric could now conclude that his opponent was indeed flying by some means. While he could not identify the exact means, he could at least determine that his opponent was on to his maneuvers. That meant that he must have had some way to detect him, much like a sensor. Sound ninjutsu, Kamui, the Rinnegan, his opponent was quite stacked.

While Eric should have taken this time to force his opponent back on the defensive, he instead decided to preserve his strength. After all, once he hit sage mode, he was going to have to go after his opponent like a freighter in order to defeat him before his sage mode ran out. Thus, he was  more than eager to have his clone collect as much as reasonably possible.

Turn 2 for natural energy gathering.
