Eric Nara vs Rikudo
« on: June 15, 2015, 05:19:45 AM »

Quote
Current host: Eric Nara

Affiliation: Akatsuki/Missing Ninja

Preferred Method: OOC 1v1 match

Special rules

-The match is to be 1v1, though summons and the like are permitted.

-Victory for the challenger is the defeat of the host through any means necessary, and vice versa. Death in the fight does not equate to death IC.

-Skills acquired during an OOC match are not carried over IC.

-If, by some chance, the match should reach a point of true stalemate after a minimum of 12 turns or 30 days (the criteria to be used depending on the progression of the fight) then a judge may be called in to determine a winner based on how the fight has progressed up to this point. Both participants must request this of the judge in person (no he said we could or she said we might, the judge must receive a response from both participants). If this is chosen, then the judge may declare a  winner based on these criteria:

*Who effectively manipulated the flow of the battle the best? The strategy employed (based on the posts) may have been defensive and attrition-based, but was it effective in the long run in wearing down the opponent?

*What caused the stalemate? The challenger being unable to defeat the challenged, or vice versa? Is it constant cancellation of jutsu and techniques by both sides, or merely one side taking refuge in a relatively inaccessible area (such as pocket dimension) in order to avoid defeat entirely?

*Who showed the greatest skill in the fight? This is completely and utterly at the discretion of the judge. Their decision is final on the matter, regardless of accusations of cheating or bribery or otherwise. This should be kept in mind when deciding on a judge for the fight.

If neither side can be conclusively declared the winner, then the fight either proceeds or a draw is declared. In the case of a draw, the challenger may rejoin the queue of challengers after the latest challenger without having to wait for cooldown (this circumvention for the benefit of the challenger for not technically being declared the loser, though by not succeeding the host can be considered a winner in this situation). Note, this is a technical victory for the host, so unless the challenger truly believes that a restart is necessary to increase victory chances, then it is not recommended to settle for a draw without reviewing this process a second time.

-Is willing to fight either at SL or on the SL forum, the latter option most useful for fights where long periods of time may pass between postings (and also serves as a record of the fight's progress for other challengers)

- Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are the preferred days for zoning. Times vary by week, so see host for details.

- In the event that a host is defeated, the new host has the cooldown challenge period timeframe to either accept the special regulations for the tailed beast or completely re-write or alter the special rules. If they do not post their own variant by the beginning of the next challenge, then it is to be assumed that they comply with the previous special regulations.

If you wish to make a challenge, post below stating the name of your in-game character, compliance or wish to negotiate with the above stipulations from the host, and preferred zone. After that, communication will mostly be in private messages through a necessary medium.

Any questions or concerns should be directed in PM's as to avoid cluttering unnecessarily this thread. Thanks in advance.

* Map: Iceland

If the challenger agrees to the above terms, then post acceptance of these terms and, as this is your first time challenging, make the first post.

Floating in the troposphere via Magnetic flight, the man known as Rikudou could be seen clad in a brilliantly flamboyant golden armor (Composed of highly compressed gold dust) atop his combat armor bodysuit made to regulate his body heat, among other things, in conditions such as this. His arms would be folded over his chest, with eyes closed as he utilized his Mind’s eye to search for his opponent. This would allot Riku the ability to see everything within 10Km with a clarity outmatched only by the Byakugan. Behind closed lids, his Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan would be active as he was more than prepared for this battle. On the small of his back would be two large scrolls, whose uses would be revealed shortly.

The sky would be largely blocked out due to the clouds above causing heavy amounts of snow to fall forth, blanketing the plains below with a thick layer of untouched white. The temperature at a crisp 5 degrees fahrenheit, quite uncomfortable for most Shinobi if exposed for much too long. Though, Riku worried not for he was outfitted to endure such conditions for substantial durations.

If one was blessed with eyes that could see such, or a 6th sense that would alert them, one could notice that Inside of Ryoji, would be a plethora of smaller chakra signatures crawling amidst the threads that composed his body in a similar fashion to an Aburame. Such a sight would be most unnerving to the average onlooker, but alas he would not be dealing with such.

With a small sigh, a cloud of breath would escape his lips. It was rather dull searching out for his prey; a chore unfit for a king such as himself. The corner of his mouth would twist into a smirk as he mentally intoned
“But if you want something done right, you must do it yourself.”

He would be sure to make quick work of locating his opposition, but he aimed not to alert him of his current location, so he would remain under the radar so to speak. Using his height as an advantage, Riku would slowly begin to drift in the blizzard looking for Eric Nara.

The trouble with crap weather was that it tended to afford only one side any sort of substantial advantage; Eric, travelling through, pondered on which side would benefit the most from this blizzard.

Clad in thermal wear of the snow white variant, Eric would be fairly warm (albeit, not a temperature regulated as his quarry), with a very well insulated, high collar jacket covering his Stone flak jacket. Thermal pants of the same camouflage as the jacket would keep his lower half warm. His weapons pouches, by and large, were located here, along with two scrolls, both brimming with Eric's chakra. Two holsters for his special chakra trench knife blades rested on both flanks, easily within reach for future endeavors. Eric also wore some mid-leg high (below the knee being considered the leg in this particular context) boots that made deep tracks in the snow, the excellent grip and warm stature granting the benefit of not allowing the snow to frostbite his feet.

Unfortunately, as the man was not all that accustomed to such warm wear, so this additional bit of weight would slightly slow his movement (running, jumping, etc.) down unless he exerted more force to act at normal speeds. Additionally, though he had his sound regulating earbuds in, the need for a thick, white beanie hat to cover his head (and some of his ears) meant that his sense of hearing would not be at optimal conditions. He also wore a mask that would minimize the effects of breathing in the snow-laden air by acting as a barrier to the snow and serving as a sort of insulation (after all, hot breath constantly kept it somewhat warm)

Considering all of that, how did Eric possibly expect to navigate, especially when such a dangerous opponent had challenged him to battle? Well, though visibility was poor, and his hearing was less than optimal (howling winds no doubt adding to that) there was one major advantage that gave the man a chance at this fight.

The great cloud cover above, concealing the sky, would cast a large, indomitable shadow over the entire arena; even the snow would facilitate in interlocking a battlefield of shadow that ultimately would allow Eric to use his sensory connection to his shadow to locate his quarry (Kagemane no Kanchi; Shadow Imitation Sensing); high above, but still within the blizzard and thus below the cloud cover (and thus within the shadow) his opponent seemed to float, as if by some ethereal force.

An explanation ranged from Deva path powers to the weightlessness technique; Eric wanted to ascertain the nature of it, but his primary priority was now to deal with a foe a 20 meters in front and an untold amount of height above. No doubt the man had chosen this place because he had exemplary sensory that would make the poor conditions for the 5 senses relatively inert, Eric anticipated and fully expected an attack on his person to imminently occur at any point from hi entry onward.

(For measurements sake, Rikudou is 350 meters into the air)

Of course once the man was in range of the 10KM, Rikudou would have taken notice. His half smirk would widen into a malicious grin as he would bring his hands up and clasp them together before forming several hand seals. Suddenly the light around him would bend, forming around his body, causing his appearance and chakra to disappear without a trace; Unfortunately for Eric, this would include his shadow. Now, instead of moving to gain a new position like the average Shinobi would, the gold clad king would remain stationary for the sole purpose of going against the norm of how many others would utilize his newfound invisibility and hopefully throw off Eric.

Once he had fully disappeared, Not skipping a beat, he would begin to form another set of hand seals knowing that Eric would be quick to move now that Riku’s shadow was sure to be gone, and once finished would mutter.
“Hijutsu: Kirisame~” This would cause a substantial amount of storm clouds to form, mixing with the preexisting clouds created through the blizzard, and rain would begin to fall in conjunction with the snow at a rapid pace.

Now this technique would help Rikudou on multiple fronts. The first would be the obvious; absorbing his opponent’s exposed chakra without prejudice. The second would be that because it was mixed with the already near freezing clouds, the rain that would fall would be a much cooler temperature than if it were used in any other fighting zone. So, as the torrential downpour would begin, hopefully the water’s would soak into his clothing not only weighing Eric down ever more, but also cooling his core temperature to dangerously low levels in a short span of time. (This would happen on a much quicker pace due to the howling winds, snowfall, and freezing rain moving to soak into the clothes trying to keep him warm.) The third being that this technique would aid him was that the water would begin to freeze over as it laid upon the ground for extended amounts of time, making for stable footing to be a commodity. The 4th and final reason this technique would be of use it to be revealed at a later time.  (Current range of the Rain is 60 meters in all directions with Eric as the epicenter, and expanding steadily)

The disappearance of Rikudo's shadow would somewhat startle Eric, but he did not truly become alarmed until more clouds began to arrive. Rather than flahing lightning and altering the shadows to a degree that would scream lightning storm (I.E preparation for kirin) and due to the fact that it was kind of cold for a freak lightning storm, Eric could guess that the addition was going to be of the wet kind.

He could not have been more correct, for the droplets began to fall and mix in with the wind as they approached the ground. The slight spottiness that emerged from their chakra sapping nature alarmed Eric to what was the Nara's nemesis in peace, love, and all things good.

Fate truly was cruel in that Eric had to fight a user of Kirisame. Or perhaps it was by design?

Kirisame, the chakra draining rain from the Hell hidden within the Mist (I.E, Village hidden in the Mist). This had to have been intentional; one did not have a reputation for being a great shadow imitation user without someone finally introducing kirisame to a fight, likely with a sadistic, sharktooth grin to match.

It was unfortunate that Eric was only a minor in weather manipulation; he could use Futon to redirect, but that would be a terrible waste of energy and attention, since his foe would be able to strike while the horrendous rain carried on dampening his mood and jutsus. So what of a bold defense then? The man could tell that staying in one place for too long, even with his trump defense, would put him at a disadvantage, if for no other reason than the accumulation of enemy controlled water in the zone.

So what of mobility then? He could not simply outrun this on foot, nor could he outfly it (not that he had wings to do that option with) and tunneling underground would be asking for frostbite and doton counters. Limited thus with his options, Eric did the only thing reasonable; merging into the shadow of the storm, Eric would become like a ghost of sorts, his signature temporarily vanishing as he utilized his brand of space-time ninjutsu.
(Kage Idō; Shadow Migration)

In short, by utilizing his ability to enter his pocket dimension via shadows connected to his shadows (either directly or through other means) the man had the ability to re-appear nigh anywhere in the blizzard, obviously choosing to be quite far away from the kirisame rain. Believing his foe to at the very least be a skilled sensor, Eric would first re-appear somewhere 1km away and 1 meter up from his original position. He would then vanish again, and appear somewhere else about 1.1km away and back on solid ground.

The first would be a rather linear bit of flight, and the second would be elsewhere on the battlefield on a different line. Combining the two lines at the center point where Eric started at then, you would have about a 45 degree angle (not exact since elevation of one point is different from the other, but that's the jist of this movement so far).

Presuming unstopped and the conditions unchanged (as in, Kirisame still expanding and foe does nothing about shadow migration) Eric would likely continue to groundhog in a fashion similar to this, albeit, he would change up his pattern on the 3rd (next) migration in order to throw his quarry off. Presuming that the relatively small amount of chakra to shadow migrate was smaller than it was to use kirisame on a large scale, Eric's initial plan would be to wear his foe out or at least force him to change plans.

Riku has declared Eric a Sock Puppet for taking two whole days to post! What a fiend!

All seemed to be according to plan until suddenly...he was gone

“Nani?!”

A wave of confusion would wash over the King as Eric was suddenly so far away from his original position. Not that he was at any point unaware of where Eric was due to the mind’s eye allowing him such extreme sensory capabilities, but the fact Eric moved so quickly was astonishing.

“Wait…”

It didn’t seem to be him moving. This is surely teleportation...Hiraishin maybe? No, there do not seem to be any marks upon the ground where he moves so it must be something else.

Kamui is out of the question at the fact he can repeatedly move like this.

It must be something new then; something unique to Eric…Well, when taking in all of the details such as the weather, Eric's calculated abilities, and movement pattern, the only common denominator in this situation would be the Shadows. Any time Eric moved, it would technically be where a shadow is placed (Same with snow, but Eric had shown no abilities with Ice as of yet, or he would have more than likely used them by now considering the setting), and as a Nara, it would not be out of the question that he had developed something that allowed him instantaneous travel to another shadow.

“So, that’s how it is, huh Zasshu?”

Suddenly he would bring his hands together to form a seal, and in a cloud of smoke, a single Kage bunshin would appear, splitting Riku’s chakra evenly down the middle. The clone, unlike Riku was not currently under the influence of the hiding in camouflage technique so it would be in the shadows as well, but there would be one solid difference between the King and his doppelganger. The clone’s eyes contained the distinct ripple pattern of the Rinnegan. Of course his lids were closed as he also used the Mind’s eye as to never be unaware of his surroundings, but this would of course play a part later.

With the clone created, Riku would suddenly begin to distort and twist into a pinhole distortion within the fabric of time and space, retreating into his pocket dimension for a short time. The clone on the other hand would quickly begin to descend onto the snow covered ground while also covering the distance between himself and Eric with quick bursts of magnetic flight (Of course there would be a significant amount of time before the clone could cover the 1km distance. Estimated at 1 minute going at a constant speed.)

He knew his opponent would more than likely continue to teleport, so he had a contingency plan in place for any sneak attacks. For now, the clones would only move to close the distance ready to counter anything Eric had in store, but he harbored doubt the man would attack. It did not seem his style to move forward and go onto the offensive but to remain on the defensive.

Meanwhile inside the pocket dimension, Riku would stand atop a small sand dune composed of gold dust and Iron sand respectively, as the inside of his dimension resembled a massive desert that expanded farther than the eye could see; with a heat to match.

Once fully materialized, the man would draw one of the scrolls holstered on his lower back, and open it up swiftly. Quickly he would allow his chakra to flow within it as to activate its effect. 100 meters all around the King, a barrier would suddenly erect, with the scroll as its epicenter. The effects of this barrier would be unknown for the time being (Effect sent to the Judge). Quickly he would wrap the barrier around his waist like a belt, and prepare himself for the next move to come.

Now here on the third migration, directly across from his second migration (if using the original spot as a reference point for what is "directly across"), Eric would pick up on an anomaly. Not only was there a clear form among the shadows, but there was also what could only be described as a swirling motion. It seemed off for the weather, more akin really to a storm drain sucking in things through thin air. Which, did not make much sense, unless...

Kamui. Kamui made more sense than a random water drain in the sky created by the divine. However, if there was an entity that was now in the shadows and one now gone within Kamui, that meant that the clone technique may have been used here. Most likely the shadow clone technique. The extra rainwater began to ebb, and it seemed that his opponent decided to switch tactics once he realized that Eric would merely migrate away and out of range based on the information given.

But of course, now that the non-Kamuid away form was approaching, Eric needed to make a decision. Was this clone or man? From his touch-based sensory alone he could not tell, but he could tell that the form was approaching in a manner that suggested that it was not blind.

Out of the range of the original kirisame, Eric would touch the snowy ground with a most wet crunch. In mere moments the man would also switch tactics, deeming himself, for now anyways, safely out of range of the dreaded kirisame.

Perhaps now he might could go on the defensive; he still did not know what plan the Kamui user had in mind, or even what the oncoming figure planned upon arriving.

Oh well. The man couldn't broker a plan off of complete unknowns. He needed to take down either the original or the clone before the other decides to rejoin regardless of the intents of his foe; but without knowing which was which, he could not risk trying to use that, that which he had never before utilized in full battle before.

It was better to instead catch his opponent completely off guard. And if he wipped out the contents of his scroll this soon, then he would surely do anything but catch his quarry off guard. Performing a short set of handsigns, the man set his shadow to work, his reach on this battlefield considerable. Since his shadow was already connected to the large shadow that covered the battlefield, the step of merging shadows would be sidelined. This allowed him to thus control the entire battlefield's shadow as if it were his own (as previously hinted at) without needing to perform a special technique of sorts.

Almost at once upon the handsigns finishing, the Rikudo out of the pocket dimension (the clone) would notice a scenery change, going from dark, wintry wonderland to an estrangement of shadow, a powerful suction all around seeming to pull the one at once into the next world. (Fūinjutsu: Kage Naraku Rō; Sealing Technique: Shadow Hell Prison). He would also notice a swift change in surroundings as Eric chakra swarmed to bend the shadows to the Nara's whim.

Eric would attempt to seal the perpetrator remaining on the battlefield inside the shadow of the battlefield. Since it did not take time for the shadow to cover his quarry, even at the considerable distances, then the initiation of the technique would be swift, (but not instant) to the point that a second's delay in reacting would guarantee capture. After performing the handsigns, his foe would merely have a second to act before being sealed in the shadow of the clouds.

If successful, Eric's right hand would lightly glow, and Eric would slap this hand to his neck, where a seal would appear with the words "shadow seal", symbolizing that the clone would now be sealed within Eric's shadow (currently conjoined with the cloud cover at this point).

Once again, the mind’s eye is quite the valuable tool for Riku. He would easily see Eric moving to place his palm onto the ground and the pulsation of his chakra to perform such a technique. Of course it was not a stretch to think the man would be using the Shadows to attack, or defend, so close tabs would be kept on the movement of the shadows.

Of course the speculation would be deemed correct upon the movement of the chakra within the shadows attempting to suck him in.

Utilizing the power of the Rinnegan, the Clone would activate the Preta path barrier technique, allowing him to forcefully extract all of the surrounding chakra from the shadows, and hopefully causing the sealing technique to fail. Of course there was little understanding of the full extent of the technique's ability, so he had hoped that the simple extraction of chakra from his surrounding would be enough to negate the effects. Though, he had a plan even if he were to be absorbed.

Simultaneously, if his sensory ability would allow for such, Eric would notice the sudden erection of a barrier all around him (Of course it did not cause a shadow, or distort any of the rain as it was not a physical object) as invisible hands would emerge from the ground and attempt to even graze Eric’s feet, or if at all possible grab his ankle.

What had happened one may ask? Well, the original Riku had quickly utilized Kamui to re-appear under the ground as to not be noticed and while still intangible, would extend his hands out and attempt to grab onto Eric from under the surface of the earth, only becoming tangible once his hands were only mere centimeters from his body.

Due to the intangibility, his chakra would be all but completely invisible as was the effect of the kamui, but in addition the dustless bewilderment, and Hiding in camouflage would add a layer of “Protection” from sensory capabilities that it would be damn near impossible to simply sense the attack coming outside of some serious sage enhancements.

Upon Riku’s hands would be a simple, but effective Uzumaki inscription seal that would span up his arms and end at the tips of his fingers. The point of this was that just simply grazing Eric would allow for the seal to activate. Should the seal come into contact with him, he would be forcibly sealed within the Fuinjutsu until released for tailed beast extraction.

This attack would be perfectly timed to execute whilst the Nara was attempting to warp the Shadow around the clone to maximize the effectiveness of this sneak attack. Also taking advantage of his labored movement through heavy winter gear and snow covered grounds. Such a simple tactic would only take fractions of a second to complete.

Clone Actions:
Rinnegan: Preta path.

Riku’s actions:

Kamui (To rematerialize from it’s last use)

Attack prevention (As to not be smashed by the earth upon reforming from Kamui)

Fuinjutsu sealing.

Apologies again for the delay, though this time it was because I was hard pressed to figure out what the best course of action was. I will point out here that my palm never touched the ground, as that was meant for the crunching of Eric's feet to snow.

Once the shadow seal technique began its suction, using the preta path on it would have been ineffective in nullifying the effects; the chakra barrier would not be able to get at the chakra backbone of the technique by the time the suction began, only the entry to the sealing dimension.

If Eric had been left unharassed, it would be case closed and cut for the clone. But such was not the case.

Yes, the clone would most likely find itself in a world of darkness; the Nara pocket dimension. Yes, tendrils of shadow would attempt to wrap about the clone and restrain him completely and utterly. Yes, the clone would notice that the tendrils seemed to have a life all their own; unable to physically move in the shadow imitation world anything save for the face, a quick surrenderer would swear that it was over for the clone, especially since the Preat Path would do no good here either

But the clone would have a very obvious glimmer of hope; the portal back, though it was in a mood to be spitting snow and wind and located far down relative to his location, would suddenly open, and possibly with it, a glimmer of hope. The portal would open in a position relative to where Eric was standing, offering a very important clue as to the nature of the technique, presuming the clone had been paying attention. It would not stay open for long, however, as the clone would likely only catch a Mind's Eye glimpse of it (as the darkness was nigh absolute in this realm), but if the clone could take advantage of that moment and act appropriately, the clone could proudly mark itself as the first to aide escape the shadow hell prison technique.

Back in the real world, Eric once again used his terrain advantage to act. Though he did not know specifically that his foe intended on sealing him (perhaps as a counter to the notion that Eric intended on sealing a clone of an Uzumaki, why this would be ironic likely to become evident by next post) he was aware of a suddenly appearing form near his lower half. How so? As earlier pointed out, the shadow sensory technique allowed Eric to sense things in the shadow; as earlier hinted, this was a touched based sensory. Air disturbance, movement, another's shadow, all fell under things that the man could sense with his shadow. Therefore, the moment Rikudo became tangible once again and advanced even a millimeter further, he had temporarily given up the element of surprise, because natural wind/snow patterns are not naturally disrupted in such a manner without the intervention of another. Additionally, the movement would have been in the shape/motion of an extended hand, meaning that fingers as well as the fact that they were hands could be detected as well.

By extending his hands from the ground, had he been tangible, that would have immediately triggered a different response. However, Rikudo had cleverly remained intangible until mere centimers from Eric, forcing Eric to resort to what some would call a cheap tactic, and what the other Nara would refer to as the perfect response.

If he were to shadow migrate, at this exact moment, then he would risk completely revealing the secret of his fuinjutsu. Rather, since the technique had been active while this motion was detected, Eric could simply use his as of yet uncontested control of the shadow covering the battlefield to open the sealing technique in the path of the oncoming hands. The speed of execution and evocation would be swift, an instant before Rikudo would come into physical contact with Eric. Possibly, this would even be fast enough to catch Rikudo completely off guard. Considering he had the Mind's Eye, it was unlikely, unless it stemmed from surprise at Eric's methodology.

Should Rikudo's hand(s) carry on, he would essentially throw his hand(s) into the fuinjutsu (his momentum already taking him in that direction), and chakra-wise (since he is invisible, not like being visible would make one visible in this dimension anyways), appear in the aforementioned spot in the pocket dimension, where the clone could likely pick up on the chakra signature of its original via the Mind's Eye Technique. If this came to pass, then Rikudo would be unceremoniously sucked into the pocket dimension, and both his quarries would be sealed, along with some bits of the ground surrounding Rikudo and near Eric.

Now, more likely the case, Rikudo should stop with his motion and instead do something else, then he would still need to escape the pull of the fuinjutsu, which still would be difficult as long as his had a part of him in the shadow of the storm.

It seems the king has been...defeated!

Just kidding

Unfortunately for Eric, he would fall right into the trap that Rikudou had set before within his own pocket dimension.

Eric would come to find that it would be impossible to activate such a technique within this area, as the barrier Rikudou had set up would be tailored specifically to negate any and all space time techniques that did not belong to the owner of the scroll that was so casually hanging from Riku’s waste. The very barrier that sprouted around Eric in the previous post for 100 meters in every direction. (As stated before, the effect of such was sent to the judge as to avoid any meta gaming and retro posting on either side of the battle)

A counter like Eric’s would have worked quite well, if he had not described the effects as to sending Riku to another dimension, thus falling under the category of space time.

Riku’s hands would move unhindered, and seeing as Eric made no physical attempts to avoid the attack, and his defence thwarted, it was almost certain Riku’s attack would land and seal away Eric instantly.

Meanwhile, the clone would see that his Rinnegan had failed him, and he could possibly be sealed away while in this predicament. While he could attempt to escape daringly, it would make more sense to simply disperse himself and allow the chakra to return to the original while the link between the two worlds still existed. Thus, moments before he were to be captured, he would disperse in a cloud of smoke, returning the chakra back to Rikudou

All the while, Riku’s own eyes would begin to take the shape of the Rinnegan in case this now almost unavoidable sealing were to fail, he could follow up with some fairly violent techniques at such a close range.

Alright I was asked to put my input as judge upon the dispute in the most recent actions of this match. Given that it seemed unclear to Eric during his post, that Rikudo would have utilized Kamui and preformed his assault simultaneously as Eric attempted to seal the clone I am allowing a repost. More specifically due to the fact that after conversing with both parties it came down to the conclusion that Eric's attack, 'Fūinjutsu: Kage Naraku Rō' would be unsuccessful on both attempts due to the space time prevention barrier put in place by Rikudo. This ultimately puts his last post in a sort of 'funk' as it was his interpretation that the first strike 'hit' the clone where as his second would fail when attempted to be used on the actual Rikudo. So following Rikudo's actions of spawning out of his pocket dimension via Kamui and having the barrier in effect while reaching outward to Eric with the sealing technique ready, Eric was put at a disadvantage in focusing and believing his assault to be a success when in reality it wasn't.

With such in mind, I am allowing a repost on Eric's actions, allowing him to recollect the lost time and actions made in believing that he could preform the shadow sealing technique. With such, Riku's actions follow through as do Eric's up until the point where the barrier is made known as well as Rikudo himself. The attempt at sealing the clone would end up failing, allowing Eric the minuscule amount of time to focus on himself and properly post/defend upon noticing his own technique failing before his very own eyes. Especially, since the first maneuver didn't work I am sure as an experienced fighter, Eric ICly wouldn't just go ahead and try the same thing.

The fuinjutsu stopped working altogether! This was unexpected, to say the least, especially with the re-appearance of his foe, or at least the appearance of a previously not present set of hands.

However, Rikudo had cleverly remained intangible until mere centimeters from Eric, forcing Eric to rapidly change plans. He might would try his fuinjutsu again, but the man couldn't risk it failing at such a range.

Still taking advantage of the great shadow that covered the field, Eric would imbue the shadows near him with a specific command; to send out tendrils of shadow to bind the disturbance. The disturbance being Rikiryou's invisible, but in motion hands; when triggered,  tendrils of shadow would attempt to bind and restrain his the hands from the exposed arm portions (if any) up to the wrist and knuckles, completely restricting his ability to move. Presuming his foe might would attempt to go intangible in order to get around this ditch defense, the trap would activate at any time the man returned to tangibility and attempted to touch him. Considering that Eric's shadow covered the entire battlefield, there would be no time between the trap's triggering and its execution at such close range.

(Kagemane: Kagewana; Shadow Imitation: Shadow trap)

This, combined with his forward running motion, was intended on stalling and buying time for his next maneuver. Since it was unlikely that the clone would stand idly by, even at the considerable distance, Eric needed to regain control of the situation, which had swiftly went from entirely under control to just barely graspable.

His next plan required the use of his fingers. Immediately after imbuing the command into the shadow around him, Eric would set to work manipulating yet more shadow, this time controlling it with his fingers. Likely idle due to the below-ground status of his attacker, Eric would use shadow tendrils near one of his weapons pouches, swiftly withdrawing a keepsake from the Jounin Exams.

(Kageyose no Jutsu; Shadow Gathering Technique)

A crystal, clear in color, would swiftly extend about an inch into the shape of a crystalline dagger before a red and yellow tint would emit from its base. This would happen upon the shadow grasping the crystal within the pouch, which would be nigh instant under the current circumstances. The "hilt", grasped by the shadow, would keep most of this tint concealed. Depending on how his quarry acted, Eric would do one of two things:

This relies on the idea that his previous actions had at least bought him about one second's worth of time (perhaps a little less, since Eric did not have to use his own hands to reach into the weapons pouch plus he moved physically to try to get out of reach of the hands). If his opponent had found a way to continue attacking him, then Eric would activate the yellow crystal upon his foe once again materializing. The effect would be to extend a bubble shaped barrier with a range of about 30 yards all around (so a 30 yard diameter) that would surely cover his opponent and himself within it. The bubble would disrupt all chakra within the barrier's reach, including that of Eric's shadow imitation.

Since Eric's shadow imitation takes chakra, then it (including the shadow trap) would be disrupted, potentially along with all of the jutsu augmenting Rikiryou (the barrier, potentially Kamui, hiding with camo, potentially Mind's Eye technique, and the fuinjutsu). This would leave a temporary zone where chakra-requiring jutsu (excluding the crystal) would be useless. Of course, since shadow imitation is what Eric had used to hold the small crystal dagger in the first place, then the dagger would threaten to fall (to which Eric would respond to next turn). However, needing only chakra to activate the crystal's effects, the crystal would draw on Eric's chakra noticeably upon activation.

Yellow Crystal- Disrupt chakra (Activated)

Hence, Eric would refrain from activating the yellow crystal as of yet and instead bring the crystal dagger to his open right hand if Rikiryou was stopped and/or retreated, as determined by his shadow imitation sensing.

The latter, while preferable for chakra preservation, could not quite top the potential danger to Rikiryou should the former happen. Without intangibility (among other things) Rikiryou would likely suddenly become of the earth, restrained if not killed by the ground that he had previously been using as cover. More importantly, it would put him more on edge, and less likely to attempt another attack of this sort again in the future; surely a plus for Eric's health one might add.

It seems even Eric can get lost in his own convoluted posts sometimes~

Rikudo(u) would of course sense not only the chakra used to manipulate the shadows, but the shadows themselves through the Mind’s eye. Nothing was lost to his ever vigilant scrutiny.

Of course it was obvious to assume he was going to be bound by such a counter,so in response his eyes would suddenly shift to that of the Rinnegan. As the shadows moved to bind him, the chakra that composed them would be sucked away, once again leaving Riku’s movements unhindered while he grabbed at Eric’s ankle. Unlike the shadow space time sealing, logically these shadows would have to be composed of chakra in order to give them form enough to bind in the first place. Of course as previously mentioned, all that was needed for the seal to activate was minor contact with even his clothing. Just his attempting to move his foot would threaten momentary contact with the King, and Eric’s demise.  Of course as he himself mentioned, Eric would have to exert himself more in order to retain any kind of normality in his strut, and despite his forward running motions, there was no mention of any additional force exerted. This would cause one to assume that his motions would be indeed sluggish and potentially sloppy in these snow covered grounds, thus his hand should be swift enough to latch on before he had the chance to move away. (One must take into consideration how sloppily people usually move in the snow to maintain proper footing)

But wait, there’s more.

The clone now unhindered would see the movements in the distance, and would attempt to aid his creator swiftly. As he continued to fly forward at the same speed as before, red marking branded his flesh. This was the activation of his Curse Mark level 1, causing immense amounts of powerful chakra to flow through his body. Of course this was something he had attained in his tremendous amount of time in Otogakure, and as a previous member of their Sound 5. Now, there was a considerable distance between the pair, and of course he would compensate for such with the addition of the Curse Mark chakra to increase the reach and power by a significant margin. A feat that would usually be accompanied by fatigue, but the Jiongu allowed for Rikudou to be quite resilient. Of course the force of this attack would not be bone shattering as even with additional chakra taxation the distance was far too considerable, instead it was a solid wall of pressure able to knock fully grown men on their backs and the air from their lungs with minimal effort.

There could be no better measurement of time than “In the blink of an eye” for this attack to finally land.

|------| (This is a visual representation of the amount of space between Riku’s hands and Eric at the time of the Shadow Binding, Preta Path, and Shinra Tensei attempts. Literally, that is all of the space his fingertips have to cover in order to touch Eric.)

Eric is sealed by the fuinjutsu coming into contact.

It's almost depressing that that is pretty much all I can post now regarding my actions. Keito ruled that I would not be able to activate my crystal at all before the sealing, so that was pretty much checkmate. I had nothing left to throw at that point.

Congrats Rikudo, you win by sealing the host. You have the cooldown period (starting 7/9/2015 16:42 EST, I.E tomorrow around this time, ending about 7/23/2014 17:00 EST) to either accept the special regulations that I already have or make some new ones. If you do not make new ones by the time of your cooldown ending and you have a challenger on your list, then by default you accept the previous rules (my current ones) as the rules for the fight.

As of today, my challenge list (from beginning of my tenure to now):

Quote
Challenge List:
1] 09/11/14 (9/22/2014 - 10/28/2014) Elemental Seraph :conceded due to inactivity.  (Forum)
2] 09/27/14 (10/29/2014 - 11/20/2014) Senju Ichirou     :challenger conceded    (Forum)
3] 10/28/14 (11/22/2014 - 12/1/2014)  Athos                 :challenger conceded (Forum)
4]  11/29/14  (12/3/2014 - 1/14/2015) Senju Ichirou           :challenger defeated (Forum)
5] 12/10/14 (1/16/2015 - 1/31/2015) Uzumaki Machina        : challenger conceded (Forum)
6] 4/19/15                                    Miyamoto Batou : booted due to inactivity (In-game)
7] 5/24/15                        Ichirou Hyuuga: Passed over until challenge with Shadow decided.

8] 5/29/15 ( ? - ?)                            Rikudou

9] 6/4/15 ( ? - ?)                              Sarutobi, Shin
10] 6/8/15 (? - ?)                             Masane

Obviously my battle with Rikudou has ended, but Shin Sarutobi, Masane, and perhaps even Raifudo (not sure if he was cereal or not which is why he was not quite put on there) were on my list.

Today is 7/8/2015, is the current end of my time as the host of the 5-tails, so in accordance with the omission of list inheritance in the biju rules (custom and formal), any who were coming after Rikudou on the challenge list will need to make a new challenge if he/she still wishes to still go after the Gobi. He/she will also have to wait for the cooldown period to get the fight, though he/she may challenge sooner to get onto the list presuming there is no conflict with the official guidelines.

Other than the acquisition of the tailed beast, knowledge of battle nor the events carried out in this battle are to be considered IC as per the nature of OOC battles. RPing acquisition of the beast is optional, but the character must be viable IC in order to use the beast. If necessary, the cooldown period may be used as a time to become viable.

Thank you for a challenging fight, and I wish you luck in holding onto your title as jinchurikii of the 5-tails.
