Skip to part 4:59.  Looks to me like it lasts a lot longer than a single burst of wind.

If Eric's post is invalid due to him not saying specifically that the wind was more than a single burst, then Tachi's "second wave" of raiton is invalid as well since nowhere did he state in his specific IC post that the chidori current was continuous either.

Tachi's reply which starts with the "Checkmate!" is a reply which responds to an incorrect jutsu since he was under the impression that the Dust Wind Technique was just one quick burst, and thus, RP'ed it incorrectly.  This is where the confusion is.

I don't really see the point of a judge panel for ruling individual fights.  It'll make more sense if the two RP'ers (challenger & defender) both speak to each other and agree on a single person to moderate and deliver final rulings for their battle.  As long as both parties agree on who this single "final say" judge is going to be, neither side can argue or ask for second opinions of a ruling that doesn't go their way.  Fights happen during challenges because when a ruling doesn't go someone's way, that person usually makes a big fuss about it and tries to get "second opinions" (aka the opinion of anyone who can form a decent sentence) and gets everyone involved to create a massive debate.  This only complicates things.

As for doing any explanations or editing of Bijuu Rules, I say we just treat those rules the same way we all got together to discuss and edit the official Edo Tensei rules.  We don't even need a bijuu council for that either in my opinion.

And with that said I'll disappear to start lurking again lol.

Happens to me either way every time I timeout >>
And just tried refreshing a few minutes ago when my navs broke again.  Didn't help.

Why do navs break so often anyways?  I have never seen this on any other site besides this one.

Strange.  I am using chrome.  Maybe I'll try refreshing next time and see if that works for me.

Uchiha hax will only get better after this so Sassgay can once again play catch-up with Naruto.  Not looking forward to it.

On another note, those Kumo nin sure are stylish.  Look at those scarves and pimped collars.  Then you have the Kazekage making things all difficult for everything else >_>;  Why you gotta be that way, man?

Eric, which browser/settings are you using?  I get broken navs every time I time out...and I'm talking every time >>;

The continue link never worked for me.  Each time I accidentally time out I basically have to wait for a mod to fix my account's navs.  Thankfully I never had to wait over two days though.

« on: September 18, 2013, 08:53:43 PM »
That's the thing about SL.  There are no rules because every RP'er here works with their own idea of right and wrong.  There are no standard set cool-down times for certain jutsu and no list containing banned jutsu.  Some people allow the use of Jikukan, some people don't (restrictions or not).  Some allow dust release or swift release, some people don't (restrictions or not).  Some people say player killing in a fight isn't allowed (if a fight is OOC), some people don't. etc etc.

The only reason why there are "official" rules stated on this forum in regards to jutsu like Edo Tensei or Hiraishin is because only a select few are able to perform these jutsu in the first place (5 max?).  Those select 5 gathered together to create restrictions for themselves as a whole.

Best thing you could do next time is to clearly state what your personal do's and don'ts of RP are with your opponent before the fight, then come to an agreement with them as to what the set of "rules" are for that specific fight.  That way both fighters will be on the same page when interacting with each other.

Also from the recent chapter revelations, isn't it implied that the Sage of Six Paths is called that because of him using Senjutsu (Sage status) and having the Rinnegan (of the Six Paths status)? This seems to be the case for Obito, since it's been identified that the jutsu that he is using is Senjutsu-affiliated?

I didn't get this implication at all from the chapters.  But either way, this is off topic.  If you want to talk about this further you should make a new thread about it.

I actually vote for making this a Naruto alternate universe.  Cannon clans like Uchiha & Senju are either removed and replaced by a less OP custom KG for the site, or they can be toned down to pre-shippuden (or in the Senju's case, pre-Hashirama vs. Madara flashback).  I haven't been here all that long and I've already noticed that Bijuu...always start problems and OOC bickering.  Also on a side note, can we make it illegal in the RP to pirate and stack KG?

For custom KG maybe there can be a clan application section where like Eric said, people can create custom clans that can have a KG to go along with it.  These clans can then be open for others to join.  It could be fun to create the "Lulzsocool" clan and have people join and create their character as a fellow clanmate.  That way people who don't have any ideas for a custom KG can just join someone else's clan if they ask the creator and the creator accepts.

Is the RP called "origins"?  Also, if you'd like for me to throw together some GFX for the site, let me know the banner/icon dimensions so I can see what I have to work with 8)

So can Mokuton masters now fire Tailed Beast Bombs from trees?  :smt077

Maybe if you were the 10 tail's jinchuriki xD.  Other than that, doubt it.

Nevertheless (forgive me ladies if any offense) I say we just get three baths, put some good ladies and booze in there, and just see what kind of RP flocks to it. Do it late at night when the creeps and horn dogs get on and just maybe the moderators might have to actually tone down content in the village boards. :D

Lets have an Oiroke no Jutsu contest between all the villages.  I'll be judge ;D

But besides that point, I have to agree.  I don't necessarily believe that village(s) vs village(s) war is a constructive way to produce activity.  Yes I'm sure people will RP more than they do now, but it'll also increase OOC arguments exponentially.  I have yet to be around during a large war, but by judging how people behave during small organized battles...It won't be good.

I think this is probably because nobody here wants to actually be on a "losing team".   When you have two people who refuse to lose, you get an OOC fight.  I can completely understand this mentality because on SL if you lose a fight you lose not just pride, but jutsu, eyes, body parts, or even the rights to RP your own character.  Anyone can see how that encourages bumping characters past the OP level just to protect themselves and their creative rights.

I would suggest starting off with a trial run by having a short site-wide event.  However, it'll be more of an event where we all plot together to come up with a common NPC "bad guy" that can force the villages to either fight together or defend themselves solo from armies of "attackers".  We pretty much make up our own version of Madara/Obito as NPCs.

This will require work though since some of us would have to volunteer to control these NPCs (can't bring all the work down on the GMs).  Not only would this spur activity as most village attacks do, but when IC fights start, there will also be no eminent feelings of "if I lose, so and so will take my stuff, so I'll make a big OOC argument and have the fight voided."  Bad guys can be scaled to the level of the people fighting, which also allows younger RPers to participate instead of watching the big kids from the sidelines.  The way these kind of multiple NPC mini-events work also encourages RPs between maybe 3-4 people instead of an entire village focusing on one single attacker (RP between 6+).
