Bijuu Arena / Eric Nara vs Ichirou Senju
« on: October 29, 2014, 03:09:57 AM »

Current Rules as of 08-30-14 Subject to revision

ºHow to declare a winnerº
The battle commences with the initial post & terminates once either combatant is unable to continue. Such a feat can result in several ways, including knock-outs (concussions, etc.), full paralysis, almost-fatal wounds & so forth. So long both parties declare it plausible & understand the longevity/risk of the claim, it's considered eligible for use. However, things can, of course, become debatable in attempt to reach such a goal & in doing so arguments are bound to commence. If need be, either party can have onlookers & such /dis/agree with the action until a verdict is reached. If desired, either party can have other hosts or officials of sorts represent them for a more "legitimized" (as some have called it) reasoning or "Back-up".

ºRulesº
Like any other zone fight, rules are established as support for completing the quarrel without need for troubles to arise. Those basic rules are also adopted into host-challenges. The rules are as follows [unless agreed upon both parties (with proof) to be something otherwise]

ºNo Auto-Hittingº
Auto-Hitting is recognized as being a direct action following through without consent of the opposing party.

ºNo God-Moddingº
God-Modding has been recognized as an incorrect claim of one or more super-powers incapable of one's possession or against what one's character establishes. Several other things have been regarded God-Modding such as dodging every attack, extreme maneuvers & such. If God-Modding should occur, the opposing party will object to it & things can be negotiated from there.

Special rules

-The match is to be 1v1, though summons and the like are permitted.

-Victory for the challenger is the defeat of the host through any means necessary, and vice versa. Death in the fight does not equate to death IC.

-Skills acquired during an OOC match are not carried over IC.

-Is willing to fight either at SL or on the SL forum, the latter option most useful for fights where long periods of time may pass between postings (and also serves as a record of the fight's progress for other challengers)

- Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are the preferred days for zoning. Times vary by week, so see host for details.

This is new, so pay attention: A hard time of 2 weeks for either participant to post without prior notification of RL issues. Upon such, failure to post will result in forfeit.

If you wish to make a challenge, post below stating the name of your in-game character, compliance or wish to negotiate with the above stipulations from the host, and preferred zone. After that, communication will mostly be in private messages through a necessary medium.

Any questions or concerns should be directed in PM's as to avoid cluttering unnecessarily this thread. Thanks in advance.

Negotiations via PM

Kamui is to be judge for the fight.

If the challenger agrees to the above or wishes to clarify/add something, now is the time to do it. Otherwise, post acceptance of the above.

Once that is done, Ichirou, as challenger in my fight, you may have the first entry post. No others are to be posting in this thread except for Kamui, and that is only to give a ruling if necessary.

Village Square / IC death while OOC challenge fighting
« on: October 14, 2014, 04:54:59 AM »
Now, I don't intend on dying anytime soon, but I do know that my fight with Seraph is going to go on for a while.

So, if I happen to die while in a RP and his challenge hasn't ended, what exactly do I do then?

Quote
As my rules state, I only do OOC matches; you can claim whatever powers that you want, within reason (no natural Rinnegan and sage mode at the same time kind of thing). Deaths do not stick.

Kamui also is to be our appointed judge for said fight, which will take place on the forums

If the challenger agrees to the above or wishes to clarify/add something, now is the time to do it. Otherwise, post acceptance of the above.

To find previous matches that took place here on the forum, just forum search Eric Nara vs (insert challenger name here). Or, simply type the name of the challenged and/or challenger in the search function. Either way, if it took place here on the forum, it can be found.

Alternatively, all of Eric's at least will have an exclamation mark as its topic icon. That should make it very easy to pick out among a sea of paper icons.

Current host: Eric Nara

Affiliation: Akatsuki/Missing Ninja

Preferred Method: OOC 1v1 match

Special rules

-The match is to be 1v1, though summons and the like are permitted.

-Victory for the challenger is the defeat of the host through any means necessary, and vice versa. Death in the fight does not equate to death IC.

-Skills acquired during an OOC match are not carried over IC.

-If, by some chance, the match should reach a point of true stalemate after a minimum of 12 turns or 30 days (the criteria to be used depending on the progression of the fight) then a judge may be called in to determine a winner based on how the fight has progressed up to this point. Both participants must request this of the judge in person (no he said we could or she said we might, the judge must receive a response from both participants). If this is chosen, then the judge may declare a  winner based on these criteria:

*Who effectively manipulated the flow of the battle the best? The strategy employed (based on the posts) may have been defensive and attrition-based, but was it effective in the long run in wearing down the opponent?

*What caused the stalemate? The challenger being unable to defeat the challenged, or vice versa? Is it constant cancellation of jutsu and techniques by both sides, or merely one side taking refuge in a relatively inaccessible area (such as pocket dimension) in order to avoid defeat entirely?

*Who showed the greatest skill in the fight? This is completely and utterly at the discretion of the judge. Their decision is final on the matter, regardless of accusations of cheating or bribery or otherwise. This should be kept in mind when deciding on a judge for the fight.

If neither side can be conclusively declared the winner, then the fight either proceeds or a draw is declared. In the case of a draw, the challenger may rejoin the queue of challengers after the latest challenger without having to wait for cooldown (this circumvention for the benefit of the challenger for not technically being declared the loser, though by not succeeding the host can be considered a winner in this situation). Note, this is a technical victory for the host, so unless the challenger truly believes that a restart is necessary to increase victory chances, then it is not recommended to settle for a draw without reviewing this process a second time.

- In the event that a host is defeated, the new host has the cooldown challenge period timeframe to either accept the special regulations for the tailed beast or completely re-write or alter the special rules. If they do not post their own variant by the beginning of the next challenge, then it is to be assumed that they comply with the previous special regulations.

Village Square / Jinchurikii RP times under conditions of void
« on: May 12, 2014, 03:56:11 AM »
Okay, so as some are aware, I, jinck of the 5-tails, had participated in an attack in Kusagakre to retrieve Rinn.

However, the end result is that the whole thing was voided. Now, that was a week in which I was out of my home abode that RPwise has been voided. Does that mean that I still need to post again being out of home, or does that week count and I can go back to the Valley of da Bones and take a week-long break?

Village Square / Diverse, SL RP
« on: May 12, 2014, 02:31:02 AM »
Let me start with by asking rhetorically: What did I agree to?

Now, this is premature as no definitive answer has been given yet, but it seem that the climax of the RP in Kusagakure has come. A decision has or will be hashed out. All of this after I put my heart and soul into a post.

I'm not looking for pity, but I am completely baffled at this point, as the resolution may include a 1v1 fight between the host of the two tails and one of the attacking members. If that is going to be the solution every friggen time, we might as well bring back biju challenges full swing!

As I try to keep from ranting, I will point out that the disagreements in the RP have been going on for some time now. I am guilty of helping instigate and flame the issue at times, and will not try to shy away from my responsibility towards it.

Is it really that hard to bring a large group of RPers together for a fight without things breaking down the second someone starts an attack? Posting order issues were present too, but the chief breaking point had been disagreements regarding attack-response, including the usage of sound genjutsu and someone's claim to void it.

It would have been helpful had they stated that in their bio before we started fighting, but I digress. How have other large RP fights been in the success department lately? I post this out of frustration and confusion. I thought we would go in, have a fight, have some end result. As the attacker, I had been banking on success, but had things went south, that's the way it would have been.

Instead, crap hit the spinning fan. The fan slowed for awhile, but sped back up again until it was in full blast. I am at my wits end here. What can I do to make large RP fights that I am in work, just short of selling myself out?

This started out as a rant on how the biju RP fight went, but then I thought about it; how are we supposed to have a Great Shinobi War if we can't even get through one battle? Then, it became a bit less about the biju squabble and more about what kind of scale RP I can participate in without having to fight tooth and nail for one reason or another.

I almost miss my days in Konoha where I sat around waiting for something to happen.

So back to my question: What did I get myself into?

Village Square / Actions per Turn
« on: May 08, 2014, 05:37:57 AM »
I have seen an interesting trend lately, that being 3 actions being done in a single turn. Now, if this were a single person doing this, then I would not be as confused, but as I browse around on the site, I see it with a little more frequency than that.

Did that update to 3 moves a turn instead of 2 without my noticing of it? It's quite possible, but if I am able to do 3 moves a turn, I don't want to keep wasting that extra move.  :(

Sorry for the long wait time! While there are still some stories not yet recovered in this chapter, I figured I would throw this up, since my long absence of updates might finish off interest.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy it; I believe you can customize the font size and type, but access to that might be reserved for the uploader... So... yeah... Let me know about that, cause I just re-learned that when I previewed it.
