Anyway, there's no way of getting out of it, you will die and you will have to fight in the graveyard to get favor...

no gold --> favor
and
no gems ---> favor
and definately not using potions(unless they costed favor)

Just accept it. Being dead is a punishment, it's not supposed to be something you can get out of easily...
