Feeling Good or Evil?
« on: May 02, 2007, 01:24:50 PM »

There was a feature request made about this before the new alignment system was introduced. I can't find the old topic so I made a new one. Anyway...

I know Neji didn't want it to be too calculable but the random alignment that you get when you pvp kill someone in pvp just doesn't make sense.

Neji, can you make it so that when you kill someone with the a certain combination of alignment, you'll get a certain result? Like,

Chaotic Evil => Good
Neutral Evil => Good (60%), Evil (40%)
Lawful Evil => 50/50

Chaotic/True/Lawful Neutral => 50/50

Chaotic Good => 50/50
Neutral Good => Good (40%), Evil (60%)
Lawful Good => Evil

I already know that, but how come 80% of my kills (that's a lot considering I have the most pvp) make me feel evil? Is there no turning back from evil? The forest event doesn't seem to have any effect on my alignment...

Hmm, i swear i read somewhere that the system works like: if you attack people the same alignment as you: turn evil, if you attack the "enemy" alignment, turn good. I dont know, I dont bother to check my pvp alignments anymore, once i was about to attack someone, but while I was reading their bio someone else killed them! I was robbed!  :cry:

I think the system MIGHT have worked like that at one time.
I do not think it has been that way since I have been here.

It would be nice if it made some sense along the "good" or "evil" lines, but maybe that would make it too obvious?

neji, i saw you don't like it too calculable, but the current system really doesn't make sense to me.
is it just me?

how can an evil guy turn good attacking a good guy?

also: couldn't the alignement have something to do with levels?
like: if you attack someone who has a lower level or less dks, you have more chances to turn evil, and if he is a higher level or has more dks, you have better chances of turning good.
evil people prey on weak guys, no?

I think killing a person turns the killer evil , always, even if the person killed was good or evil.

This doesn't really help high dk people. I think our alignment has been set in stone...

I don't know how evil I am. I can only be compared to other evil people. Not sure how much I need to become good if I wanted to.

The alignment system is such a mystery to me. I have given up on it.

Only reason for me to become good is to try for the seven star tattoo...

That is true.

But that actually helps me because I want to stay evil.

System should stay as it is ;)
