I have tried send two people messages, even though I think it said message sent, the message I sent did not show up in my out box...So I wanted to make sure if this was a problem, so I tried sending my alt a message, and the message was sent, but again it was not recorded in my outbox.

My alt did receive the message, and I did get a reply from a friend as well, but it was not recorded in my outbox.

Yep. Having the problem. I like my outbox. It comes in handy when you send the wrong thing to someone.
