I think it had potential... it just, put simply, fell flat on its face when it came to the execution:
It has an introduction, but it's followed by several separate stories that are tied together pretty loosely.
....And then there's the ending: It was VERY open-ended (which seems to be a standard for Gonzo animes), and should have been given two more episodes to provide some sort of closure.
Simply put, had it been truer to the manga, it would have been so much better.

Seriously, does anyone know if/when Saya stops being such an angst-muffin?! I don't know how many more of Kai's 'We're all in this together' speeches I can take.... : /
