I know I'm not the only who's noticed this, but Nara Shikamaru as a Master doesn't seem right to me. For some reason I keep thinking of his father, Shikaku, instead. Doesn't it seem like he should be playing the role of the master instead of his son.

I think Shikamaru is a fine Master. If you think he is inexperienced though, we could change the picture to a Shippuden one couldn't we?

That sounds fine. Looking at his picture compared to the others, he seems lacking.

Isn't shikamaru like a genius? I don't see why he couldn't be a master if he has the same IQ as kakashi

Well, in the current setting, he's only a genin. Update the photo to his chuunin picture then. All I'm saying is look at all the masters within the Academy...doesn't he look a bit out of place?

Just because Shikamaru is smart, doesn't mean he has the experience necessary to teach. Shikaku, as a Jounin, has been on more missions and done more things, giving him the experience needed to be able to explain to his 'students'.

Shikamaru is out of place because he's a Chuunin; he's young and inexperienced. Everyone else, aside from Iruka (who is, in fact, a seasoned instructor), is a Jounin or higher.
I feel that either the picture needs to be changed to one from Naruto Shippuuden or Shikaku needs to replace Shikamaru. Those are my thoughts.

I agree with Asadi and Makoto,a shippuuden pic or replacing him with shikaku is better than the current one

But the reason why he became Chuunin ahead of the others even Neji whos already a Jounin in Shippuden is because of his analytical and leadership skills and this was said by the third hokage himself.

He did take on Hidan himself, AND WON. He was chosen because he a rational thinker, has great leadership skills, and a genius. THE only reason he's not a jounin is because he's lazy. The less experiance thing...Doesn't Sasuke have ALOT less experiance then BOTH Kakashi, Orocchimaru, and Itachi? Yet he could probably defeat Kakashi, he almost killed Orochimaru, and if Itachi wasn't disabled like he was, Sasuke would still give him a hard time.
