Well, they only just realeased info about it at ComicCon '08 and I don't think they're in any boster packs yet so they could tweak them a little. Plus there might be restictions to keep you from summoning high level monsters right off the bat. Plus there will most likely be new trap, spell, and Monster effects to keep them off the field.

Though the older players that might not play anymore but might again play might find this to their disadvantage.

Your spell and trap cards would too =)

It can't only block the other player(s) traps and not yours too. Otherwise it would be banned from the actual game.

If it destroys the trap/spell cards and sends them to the graveyard as a flip-effect, then it's fine.
