Um, the Sanbi didn't have a host in the actual manga.

He was never shown.

Sanbi must have ether 1) Escaped somehow, or 2) Was extracted by someone else at an earlier date, but escaped

Just because he was never shown in the manga itself, it doesn't mean he never existed.

OR, the Sanbi did like Shukaku, get into a full Nijuu form-thing. >>

Maybe the girl couldn't control it? and let it free? .-.

Also the red bearded guys name is like ryoushi or something...
