Sanbi must have ether 1) Escaped somehow, or 2) Was extracted by someone else at an earlier date, but escaped

Just because he was never shown in the manga itself, it doesn't mean he never existed.

I thought I heard something about them offering the position to him and Ero, before Tsunade but they both said no. Not sure though.
