First, they need to come in.

And if the ask you to deactivate your firewall and other software - you know there is something wrong.

The same issue is discussed in Germany, and partially made law - needless to say there is a somewhat big uproar, but as it is only people without a firewall are not safe - and they were not even safe before.

They can't enter the apartment and install stuff - ^^

So every 17 year old in the UK with porn on his computer faces possible jail time with this. <_<
I seriously hope that isn't the real reason they're doing this.

except they can go into people's homes and leave a keylogger, send an email with a virus, or sit outside of someone's house and hack in through the wireless internet.

and it's still not right to do stuff without a warrant.

wouldn't most of these things be applicable for the real world? except for internet fraudsters would be real world fraudsters.

but if they have to get a warrant to go into my house, why don't they have to get a warrant to go through my computer?

and aurstralia is the one that blocks all the 'bad' internet sties, and blocks all the 'illegal' torrenting yet it can't even tell the differences between legal and illegal... kinda like how WoW uses bittorrent to send out patches and it gets blocked.

They haven't started that yet... so we safe for now, plus it optional at the moment I believe.
But yes, our legislation is worse than New Zealand
