Changing the way "Toughness" is calculated
« on: January 12, 2010, 09:22:56 PM »

My understanding, is that Toughness in the Hall of Fame is calculated exclusively by setting Toughness = Hitpoints (HP).

That greatly benefits levelers over sitters and I don't feel this tells the whole, accurate story on what constitutes "toughness".

Possible alternatives:

Toughness = (HP + ATT + DEF) / DKs

The above offers more of a "pound-for-pound" assessment of toughness, but it greatly benefits sitters over levelers.

I think if we remove the / DKs, it would be more balanced.

Toughness = HP + ATT + DEF

Having HP included means that high level levelers still get a huge boost over most (if not all) sitters.  2500HP + 200ATT + 200DEF -- not uncommon for 1000+ DK players, should trump all sitters.  Most Daiymos should still trump most (but not all) sitters.  1200 + 100 + 100 -- not uncommon for 500+ DK players.

Just an idea.

Nothing wrong with the calculation.

Though we might simply add more categories.

"Meat per pound" is not a bad thing for a new category...
