I'll give to the age old answer that Neji gave,

"Because buying & selling gems are against the rules of the game. If you can deposite it, surely someone is going to use that feature to buy & sell gems from/to other players or just transfer all the gems from your other characters to one character to make him/her super strong."

If I did that...I can buy Kyuubi with enough gems left to still make a cityhouse (just joking about this part) XD

yes, i.e. you play with 3 chars, depost gems in the house and withdraw it with the fourth... and accumulate gems.

That's why it is forbidden. Same with gold transfers (yet you can deposit it in the houses, this is deliberate).

what is the point then of having limited turns/days etc?

I could set them to 5000 turns/day and 1h days... well, what would people do? click 24h for 2 weeks straight...then get bored because they have created a god...

this is not an ego shooter... you have to be patient. that's why this won't ever be any of "those" games...
