Yeah, but how many people use rock moves? Not nearly as often as they use fire moves.

With Steel types around, there's not really a POINT to rock type monsters anymore. They generally have good Defense, but they're weak to so many attack types (Water, Leaf, Ice, Ground, Steel, ect), that it isn't even worth it. Steel has high Defense too, and most things are ineffective to it.
