Honestly....I consider that blatant plot device and let the host on SL use automatic sand...blocking...stuff. Just the mechanics of trying to figure out...HOW his mothers will got into the sand...or himself is weird considering it certainly isn't a technique or anything.  It's just sort of a d'aww moment for Gaara to learn "HEY! MY MOM DIDN'T HATE ME!" in the manga. xD

Kind of like how in SL I don't expect the Kyuubi to be nearly as strong as it's shown in the manga because of plot.
