read through this finally...and can we say topic derailment?
anyway, I would rather have rp arcs that produce something other than total world destruction. I for one don't plan on just throwing away years of RP so someone can come through and flip tables for kicks before they wander off into oblivion once more.
I also would rather have rp arcs that try to induce the newer players to join in. Things that can be inviting to all players regardless of power sets. It has been my experience, that the world dictator RPs tend toward pitting us against one another and dividing the community to the point of resulting in lack of interest, people leaving SL, and decreased activity for everyone.
Before something of such monumental, all encompassing scope should even be attempted, we need to build up our public rp base more and give us time to recover from the HUGE hit to rp that we are just now getting clear of.
things are improving, but I feel it is not yet to the point that the site can afford to have the active rpers tied down to life and death struggles while those who are trying to make their deputes into the community get blown into the wastelands of being ignored.
Starting slow and building toward such an event could work. I am not just here going...pfttttt...to the idea. But if you wish the Senju to be this world power that shuts out the complete societal norms for SL....then put some work into it. Build your forces through rp and have them unite and do major things toward that end. One step at a time.
To suddenly have the Senju appear and whomp the world though? snort. Really? When did they grow to such numbers? Where is the ground work that went into establishing themselves as even being remotely capable of becoming so numerous and powerful?
You could put a good year into something like this and still not have the force you need to make this seem like a legit endgame result. Now if you could manage the GMing and the recruiting and the training that would be involved in such an undertaking, well then that would be something to crow about, wouldn't it?
