Was the Eye of the Moon Plan (Tsuki no me) really that bad?
« on: October 07, 2015, 07:06:21 AM »

Well, let's look at it for a moment. So this was a genjutsu cast upon the world that basically let them live their wildest dreams and forever live in peace. The only problem really with it was that everyone lived their own individual dream, and no one was really connected. But, if everyone was eternally happy and there was peace throughout the world (at least for the people who saw it), would it really be that bad of a plan?

The whole tree siphoning people's chakra and turning them into Zetsus is a bad thing, but we have to remember that was a separate jutsu. So, was Naruto really the bad guy for stopping world peace and everyone's happiness?

I think that's the "Matrix" and that other problem (where people lived in virtual worlds instead of the real world) kind of question there. If the world was too perfect people would eventually begin to resist it. Remember, they can't reproduce while under these conditions, nor eat, nor drink nor anything. It would be the extinction of the human race essentially.

Its more of a question if the 'dream' would have continued forever, or if they'd gradually fall asleep forever inside even the dream, til it stops entirely when they've become zetsu.

Yeah, I guess that eventually they would probably starve to death...But dreams have no real concept of time so they might be able to live full lives inside their dream before they physically die. Sure, it'd result in the death of the human race (except for the people who didn't see the moon) but that would also mean world peace lol

And Warren, the whole Zetsu thing had nothing to do with the Moon's Eye jutsu. That was the Nativity of the World's Tree afterwards that wrapped them all up. If Obito just left them all there and that thing never happened, then technically they wouldn't become Zetsu (though they might drown if they were looking up and it started to rain lol).

So who knows how long the dream would last, but it was supposed to always be a peaceful and happy dream. As long as it wasn't a forever dream with nightmares, then it wouldn't end up like pic related ---

(Junji Ito's 'Long Dream'. If you haven't read it, it's pretty good spooky stuff considering we're in the month of spooks and scares. All of his stuff is pretty fun though lol)

Ito's not that bad. :) He's like a Japanese Goosebumps or Are you Afraid of the Dark.
