Can you Kamui through a Kamui?
« on: March 01, 2016, 05:23:32 PM »

How much Kamui could Kamui chuck if Kamui could chuck Kamui's?

Moving on, if someone were to use Kakashi's Kamui on another person who then activated Obito's Kamui in an attempt to slip through the attack, would that work?

Aren't both Kamui a way to transfer what you focus on to another dimension? If so, I see no reason why there'd really be an effect.

I imagine it's like trying to shoot the opening of an area. Yeah, it passed through but it didn't really do anything as there was nothing there to begin with.

Well let me be more specific, say I am trying to decapitate a person with Kakashi's Kamui. Yes that is done by transporting their head away.

Obito's Kamui says, "When activated, any part of the user's body that overlaps with another object is seamlessly warped to Kamui's dimension, making it appear as though the user can phase through solid objects."

But what are they overlapping with in this scenario? Reality? There's nothing for them to slip through.

I'm pretty sure if you attempted to decapitate someone through the usage of Kamui and that person you attempted to decapitate just happen to use the intangibility ability of Kamui, one would negate the other and vice-versa. Meaning it wouldn't work as planned, since the primary weakness of Kamui is that it can countered by another user of the said technique.  (How can you warp something away that isn't there?)

Oh yeah I forgot that part. Doesn't really make much sense.

Obito's intangibility is far faster than Kakashi's kamui.

I don't think it makes any sense logically but since it explicitly says So there's really nothing we can do.

I just say they cancel each other out, similar to how Obito repelled Kakashi's attempt to decapitate the Gedo Mazo.

Yeah that is how it works, I just forgot about that instance. To me it just makes no sense logically based on how the technique works. There's nothing to "slip through" when you're being Kamui'd. Which was a requirement to me. You can't just will your arm or head to vanish something has to overlap it. Unless you can just slip through space itself whenever you want but if that's the case you should be able to just instantly vanish at will without the need to complete overlap your body with the ground or what have you.

No need to think of it that complexly, the chakra from person A's kamui just disrupts person B's, and neither one works. Technically you don't even need kamui to do it, just enough space-time skill and the right frequency.

Then couldn't you just do that to any jutsu?

In a sense you already do to almost everything. That's why even stuff like two katon fireballs will clash, rather than just going through each other, its the whole two opposing forces cancel each other out thing. Kamui just happens to be a less flashy example of it; instead of a kaboom, the wormhole/intangibility just doesn't work because you're prevented from accessing the other dimension.

Never thought of it as conflicting frequency before. If you think of it like that then yeah I could see Kamui canceling each other out making sense, more than no sense anyway.
