Going Overmastery of a hosted Biju [Discussion]
« on: February 26, 2016, 11:13:35 PM »

As laid out by this in the vote which was just closed..."Mastering a Biju"

The beast must be completely mastered before the Jinchuriki can access Tailed Beast Mode. The Bijuu Bomb can only be used while in Tailed Beast Mode. The Bijuu’s passive ability can be accessed immediately upon being sealed with the beast, but the power will be weaker than someone who has mastered the beast. It takes time to master the passive abilities of a bijuu. This will occur in five stages consisting of [insert number] weeks each, with a mid rage evolution stage to access partial transformations.
25% - grants access to C ranked jutsu in the beast's passive ability. The host has access to the Initial Jinchūriki Form.
50% - grants access to B ranked jutsu in the beast's passive ability. The host has access to the Version 1 Cloak.
Partial Transformation - Although no additional access to the beast's passive ability have been acquired, control over the transformative stages now includes the finesse to perform partial transformations.
75% - grants access to A ranked jutsu in the beast's passive ability. The host has access to the Version 2 Cloak.
100% - grants access to S ranked jutsu in the beast's passive ability. The host has access to Tailed Beast Mode.

We now have the issue of consequences and fine tuning what those are.

This was proposed...

If a Jinchuriki attempts to access more tails than they have mastered they will lose control of the beast. If they were not already in a V2 cloak they will immediately ascend to such at the level of tails they attempted to access. They must then rp is much the same way as Naruto having lost control of Kurama. The host is unconscious and subject to the whims of a furious bijuu. They will attack perpetually until anything that could be perceived as an opponent is killed, this includes their own summons, such as animals or Edo Tensei zombies. The host will gain a tail each turn starting after the turn they first lost control. After reaching the maximum number of tails in the V2 state the host will ascend to the full bijuu form on the next turn. If this happens the host is killed and the challenger need only subdue the rampaging bijuu to win the match. [Note: This is a stopping the match issue, until the consequences of accessing powers that have not been acquired are included.]
And so...each host must include upon his bio on SL, and in his forum preference thread, his tail level mastery.

Questions and observations were made, requiring discussion and clarity, and those were...

1] Eric wants to see that this stipulation is added. "no special jutsu beyond cloaked powers or breaking a genjutsu permitted. "

2] Mei wanted this to be clarified, "number of tails manifested is not inhibited, just abilities to enter cloaked stages beyond your mastery."

3] And Warren questions the "point of overmastery consequences versus host just being done and match over as a penalty."

please discuss. the above master levels and 3 weeks duration per level will be added to the rough draft of rules, but the consequences will have to wait upon further discussion.

To add, no special jutsu (custom or otherwise) and no ability to break nor "dodge" genjutsu should be added stipulations. The former because we don't want people using specialized jutsu while in this state (explicit statement) and the latter as a real inhibitor, since 6/10 an Uchiha may be involved who has genjutsu:sharingan or something else to that extreme. Go into this state and get caught in that, that's game.

so basically we are saying that in a state of overmastery, the beast runs amok while the host is unable to do anything about it and is completely vulnerable to the mechanisms of those around him in that: he only has the beat's raw power at his disposal to counter the abilities used against him?

Yes but I do think they should be able to throw around their various elements, lava and such

Pretty much.

No lava release, magnet release, nuthin but the red chakra of the beast. This has to be a state of hosting so terrible that only in extreme cases would this be a viable option. Not to mention melding chakra natures is kind of advanced for an out of control individuall.

It was never supposed to be a viable option. I just wanted to make rules for it because it is a thing that can happen. Don't see why we can't have a rampaging beast man slam the ground and make lava blow up everywhere. If the beasts in control it doesn't make sense for them to lose that ability.

Because being able to slam the ground and make lava blow up everywhere makes it more of a viable option than it not being able to lava release? Not every rule has to make IC sense. Until the beast itself is completely free of its host I propose that it cannot use any elemental jutsu either, especially since custom advanced nature techniques are many and close inbetween.
