Bijuu Arena / Mortal Kombat! [Eiko vs. Deathstroke | Bijuu Match]
« on: September 06, 2015, 06:21:15 PM »
Terms to the Bijuu OOC match between myself and Deathstroke. I will be posting the starting post shortly (do not take that last word literally):

-The match is to be 1v1.

-Victory for the challenger is the defeat of the host through any means necessary (within the terms/conditions), and vice versa. Death in the fight does NOT equate to death IC (Hence OOC portion).

-Skills acquired during an OOC match are not carried over IC. Similarly, knowledge of participants' abilities do NOT carry over to IC RP -- nor can one take anything except the Bijuu.

-Basically, you're taking what you want if I lose and that's all you're getting. You walk away happy with Crab Turtle and I walk away with a clean slate.

-Time Constraint - Deathstroke and I are in no rush, as such, if one is busy and relays that information to the other, then I personally don't care (and neither does he) that he posts a day after the week rule set in stone. But, the week rule will still apply, unless one requests another day or two because of RL issue. This is our fight, and I'd ask that our fight REMAIN OUR FIGHT (Do not get involved unless you are a judge or moderator in the event someone who shouldn't be posting in the thread posts).

-Terms/Conditions - A show of writing and RP skill through fist and foot. Literally just hand to hand -- no chakra, no weapons, no jutsu, no bijuu, literally fighting with the body. This fight will be considered fun and, possibly, practice for challenger and host! (For those of you reading this, this is really the only way fights should be conducted, in my personal opinion, because it helps promote growth in the basic foundation of RP -- using power crutches doesn't make you a better fighter if you can't understand the basics).

-Judges - Shadow (Deathstroke) and Dart (Eiko); in the event that another judge is needed, we can probably agree upon another.

- Deathstroke and I personally ask that others do not complain about the fight in a thread or post in the fight. We are capable enough to settle it ourselves, be whatever the issue may, and there is a solid reason as to why a judge is needed in the event that we can't. If you are not a judge or moderator, do not get involved, please.

- I believe that's it for now.

[Posting this for Gitsune]

Jinchūriki: Hagoromo Gitsune

Affiliation: Kirigakure

Battle Method: 1v1 OOC (with IC hunt)

Preferred Outlet: Plains, Dwellings with specific environment

Judge(s): PMs will be used to determine an agreed-upon judge

Special Rules:

-The match will be OOC for the benefit of both participating characters. This is essentially to prevent either playing from having to deal with the hassle of dying IC if they are killed during the match, and additionally leaves both participants free for IC RP during the match. Thus, though the match will be OOC, participants must still RP as their character, exactly as if they were IC, with the addition of following any decided voids, nerfs, etc.

-The match will strictly be 1v1, to prevent any complications arising from extra participants. The player remaining alive/active retains Matatabi (The Two Tails). The player that is killed/has lost will neither gain nor lose anything else. Essentially, this means the match is strictly about the Nibi and thus nothing else will be changed as a result.

-If desired, a logical RP can be worked out for a reasonable and plausible IC transfer of Matatabi to the next host.

-Despite the match being OOC, you need to learn of Gitsune’s possession of Matatabi before you may challenge for the Nibi. Thus, you may not challenge for Matatabi without solid proof of how your character learned of Gitsune’s possession of the beast; you should roleplay how you have come to know of the Nibi being sealed within Gitsune. Once that is confirmed, a match is then reasonable and you will be put on the challenge list.

-No match will begin without a judge agreed upon beforehand.

-Detail of measurements will be in Metric Units (meters, kilometers, square kilometers, grams, kilograms, liters, etc.). No exceptions.

-For anyone, including myself, participants will be allowed any common, general, and basic skills that their character possesses as long as those skills are backed by reasonable explanations (they have an existing explanation in the character’s RP history) and have a profile where those skills are listed (e.g. Naruto Profile Wikia).

-Participants will have fourteen days to post. If they wait longer than that period of time to respond to the other participant, the last posting participant will win by default. In the case of an emergency, this may be reviewed and extended by a week, thus totaling to an allotted response time of twenty one days. However, if any post is discredited for rule-breaking and a repost is required, then that post does not count and the repost must be posted within the original timeframe.

-If, by some chance, the match should reach a point of true stalemate after a minimum of 30 days then a judge may be called in to determine a winner based on how the fight has progressed up to this point. Both participants must request this of the judge in person (I.E. Both fighters MUST send a PM for this option.) If this is chosen, then the judge may declare a winner based on these criteria:

•Who effectively manipulated the flow of the battle the best? The strategy employed (based on the posts) may have been defensive and attrition-based, but was it effective in the long run in wearing down the opponent?

•What caused the stalemate? The challenger being unable to defeat the challenged, or vice versa? Is it constant cancellation of jutsu and techniques by both sides, or merely one side taking refuge in a relatively inaccessible area (such as pocket dimension) in order to avoid defeat entirely?

•Who showed the greatest skill in the fight? This is completely and utterly at the discretion of the judge. His/Her decision is final on the matter, regardless of accusations of cheating or bribery or otherwise. This should be kept in mind when deciding on a judge for the fight.

If neither side can be conclusively declared the winner, then the fight continues until a clear winner has been decided.

-If any of the rules set forward are broken, I reserve the right to cancel the match. This will not prevent you from re-challenging.

-Arguing is discouraged. I will talk over any concerns regarding the match with you if the conversation remains calm and logical. If it steps outside of that, then the judge will be asked to make a decision. Pointlessly bickering is not fun or useful for anyone.

-A challenger may be banned from challenging the host ever again if he/she displays unreasonable/immature/explosive behavior against the host before or during the fight. Things can be discussed in a calm, civil manner without resorting to long, pointless arguing, insults and childish complaining. This will save ourselves the headache of exchanging statements back and forth that will go nowhere.

-A good old-fashioned fight would be preferred wherein only the basics are allowed.
- The basic elemental jutsus - Katon, Suiton, Doton, Fuuton and Raiton (given that the claimed jutsus are within both parties' abilities [within their affinity]).
- One advanced elemental KG (Mokuton, Yoton, etc. with agreed nerfs)
- Kenjutsu (only ordinary swords are allowed)
- Pure Taijutsu (no Gates enhanced techs)
- No Sage-related abilities (Sage Mode, Rinnegan, Tenseigan)
- Basic Dojutsu abilities (For Sharingan, you either get just Kamui or the Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi, Susanno combo; for Byakugan, Gentle Fist, Kaiten and those other 'basic' stuff)
- None of the special jutsus (FTG, other space-time, etc.)

[Template from Dart]

Supposed Challengers: Deathstroke, Yujo

Jinchūriki: Kaguya Eiko

Affiliation: Kirigakure

Preferred Method: IC Hunt w/OOC Fight (1v1) (Basically, you find me through viable, reasonable IC means, then we duke it out OOCly on the forum; sounds like a simple request, no? - Hope this ain't a problem.)

Preferred Zone: No Preference (Rather the Forum)

Preferred Judges: Uh... I have to get back to you on this, but I vote Raifudo!

Preferred Outlet: SL Forum (I'd rather fight on forum -- I will probably make you fight on forum)

Special rules

-The match is to be 1v1.

-Victory for the challenger is the defeat of the host through any means necessary, and vice versa. Death in the fight does NOT equate to death IC (Hence OOC portion).

-Skills acquired during an OOC match are not carried over IC. Similarly, knowledge of participants' abilities do NOT carry over to IC RP -- nor can one take anything except the Bijuu (Hence OOC portion).

-Basically, you're taking what you want if I lose and that's all you're getting. You walk away happy with Crab Turtle and I walk away with a clean slate.

-W.I.P. (I have to really think regarding the match -- my apologies for the delay D:).

-But, I can tell you now, I'm going to void everything. A show of writing and RP skill through fist and foot sounds like music to my ears, though. So, if you don't think you can fight hand-to-hand only (literally nothing else), then I'd suggest not coming to find me. I wish whoever the best!

Spam / Werewolf-Mafia!
« on: July 21, 2015, 05:01:01 AM »
It's a very fun game to play, so I'll explain the mechanics here! For those of you who do not know what this is, it is a game where you try to get your side - light or dark - to eliminate all the others and to win. Your roles are secret, you guard them with your life, and your goal is to not get murdered or killed.

There will be a lot of killing.

How things are going to be done is as follows:
    1. Fill out the sign-up sheet in any number you choose. It's helpful if you copy and paste the form from the person who posted above you so that no one gets skipped.
    2. Then, roles will be determined via random number generator and sent out via PM.
    3. The event will start, and you will have roughly 24 hours to post in the day phase who you think is the culprit - at the end of this time, the suspect will be killed, and the night phase will begin.
    4. "Overnight," those with night roles will PM them to me within the limit, 24 hours, and their actions will be revealed in the early morning, which will then start the Day Phase.
    5. Lather, Rinse, Repeat!

Rules/Guidelines:
    - There are two phases, day phase and night phase. They each last 24 hours.
    - In the day phase, everybody votes in-thread for who they want to kill. At the end of the day, the person with the most votes is killed. If they had a role, it may or may not be revealed. You can RP the voting process or not, doesn't matter.
    - The night phase follows the day phase. In the night phase, people with roles PM the game host the name of their target. The mafia also PM their kill target to the game host.
    - PM'ing other players about the game is generally frowned upon. Depending on the game, it may or may not be allowed. If not specified, it's probably not allowed.
    - DO NOT REVEAL YOUR ROLE TO OTHERS.
    - Bold or color your votes so they stand out.

Roles:
-Alpha Werewolf: Head honcho, the Alpha can convert one player after two turns, negating the night kill.
-Mortician : Can hide the role of a killed player once per game.
-Mercenary : Can kill any person at night with a 25% kill chance. Cannot self-target.
-Guardian : Can protect one person at night from all kills. Cannot self-target.
-The Hunter: Can lock up a person to prevent their night action AND voting the next day.
-The Spy: Stalks a person to see who visited them at night.

Bijuu Arena / Another Discussion Thing?
« on: July 09, 2015, 10:32:27 PM »
Something I've wondered, but what are your takes on one person with multiple bijuu? As in, more specifically: someone's alts with each possessing a bijuu? I know, elsewhere, collectively a few people and I thought it was kind of unfair for one person (ooc) to claim more than one bijuu with multiple characters. Now, it might be difficult for people to spot out the alts of one person, but what is your take on that?

I think it, realistically, having one person claim one bijuu on one account only might potentially create more RP for the site -- not only that, but it's fair, in a sense. I was just dwelling on the topic and this came to mind. Maybe, if people agree, it can be something set in stone. I know Bocchi and a select others have kind of skewered the thought itself, but eh, that was one account owning multiple bijuu at different points in time/collectively for a group? Je ne sais pas.

Though, makes me think that some people make alts just to further them with their own characters, which is okay, I guess, but that's another topic entirely.

So, thoughts?

Game Related Discussions / Just Discussin' (Or Rantin')

Just a random thought I've had for a long, long time, but why does everyone claim to have a shitload of perks? It's sad that the series pretty much justifies having sharingan, susanoo, rinnegan too among other things, etc., but why does everyone strive to be overpowered and overwhelming with feats and abilities? Do we all wanna follow in Orochimaru's footsteps, or Madara's and implant/experiment to add several KGs? Or Kaguya (Crazy "I wanna destroy the world" Bitch)?

You think we'll ever just be basic, like the good old days? One can hope (Least I am).

The worst is when people say, "I have a lot of stuff because I don't want to get overwhelmed in a fight," "Because other people have it, so I have to," assuming there'd be a change, it won't happen with those statements. I mean, there might be less ooc drama if we all stuck to one KG, a few perks, etc (because having a lot gets complicated, I feel).

How do you determine who is the fastest or strongest? Is there really a defined measurement method? Hirashin is the fastest technique, sure, but what about the people who don't claim to have it and say they're godly fast? Or the people who say they heal instantaneously (get real). It's just something I've noticed -- I certainly don't strive to be as complicated or godly, to be honest, I'd love to have a fair fight where everyone gets some battle scars, then maybe hit up the nearest ramen bar for some sake and grub -- a merry night to an entertaining zone, no?

I don't know, I want to see what other people think of this, hence why I'm posting this here. Do you feel SL would be a better place without everyone claiming to have so many powers, KGs and trumps? Do you feel fighting would have better outcomes/results, and not be voided or argued oocly?

I mean, strip some people of what they have and give them a stick, and they might not last -- the fine line between actual skill and people just hiding under a security blanket might just be easier to distinguish. Am I right? o.O;

Feature Requests / Regarding Villages
« on: July 05, 2013, 08:21:42 AM »
This is probably like... my only post on the forum, but I'd like to make a pretty awesome request/discussion, if I say so myself.

So, all this time I've wondered why Jiseigakure even exists... considering many villages that are canon and active can well serve that village's purpose. What I mean, is... simply, can we change Jiseigakure to Amegakure or even Kusagakure? I've noticed the activity in that clan is booming, and I'm sure they would greatly appreciate an actual place besides a clan hall to role-play. Amegakure could easily replace Hoshigakure, considering there isn't a clan or 'organized village', whereas Amegakure usually has active role-play. With this comes the change of travel points, location on the map and descriptions, but they can easily be changed, I believe... However, this isn't my actual request...

I'm wondering, if it's possible, to extend the length of the 'invitational zone/private zone' to an infinite period. Why, do you ask? Simple: I believe it would serve many of those who'd like to actually role-play their clan's village publicly, so provided that this could happen. Since it's already allowable to change the name of the zone and customize the description, let alone allow anyone to watch and post, one could pay a high fee [perhaps money and gems included] to keep the 'private' zone up for an indefinite amount of time. Ultimately, this will allow villages to be created and will likely increase the role-play and interaction between villages [you know, for those like kusagakure, senjogakure, yukigakure - clans that might be considered canon but in-game have no area to role-play besides the clan halls]. Essentially, this will also get rid of the nuisance of players having to make alts to interact/visit in-clan villages.

Well, this was my idea, basically... Dunno how easily this idea can be implemented, but I suppose that's what discussion is for, right? And that this is a mere request.

I'm not sure if this has been discussed already or not, but yes... someone is finally concerned or at least curious as to who you think are the top ten zone fighters on Shinobi Legends!  It's okay to vote for yourself, just give some valid reasoning. I'd like to see everyone's opinions, as this is a highly debatable topic, though very interesting to discuss.

1 being the best, 10 being the least-best, or just have no order of importance at all. Doesn't matter to me!

Have at it! :3
