Hey, that's insulting!

Doom is a Asian midget.

And rap sucks. It gives me headaches.

Music is about expressing your feelings through singing/playing an instrament, not some mindless junk that doesn't make sense.

He's an Asian Midget that lives in Canada  :)

And I only like some Rap.  The one's that have some kind of story to tell.  Listen to this, and tell me if it qualifies as expressing yourself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AuK2A1ZqoWs

Most of the Rap out today though is pointless.  The instrumentals surrounding Rap are also good just on their own.  If you take away the lyrics for a Rock song, it still remains a Rock song.  Do that with Rap, and you have some very emotionally driven music based off the instrumentals.

There's a lot of different music out there, and I don't limit the genres I listen to, only the Artists I don't necessarily feel anything for.

Washington is NOT Canada!

The fact that half the time you can't even hear the instraments in rap because it's overshadowed by the singers voice or the drums/beats made from the computer(IE: Not instraments at all). Songs need the lyrics to attract people who aren't musical, but still listen to music.

This might be why sondtracks don't sell as well as regular music. People block out themusic with their minds and only listen for dialouge and hidden refeances.

All forms of Rap/Hip-hop and R&B suck nuff' said. =|

AGREED!

Once the magic Camel with the camel gold has spoken, all arguments must stop. >.>
Aww, and I typed a long post too... >>

Why am I the one defending Rap?  I don't even really listen to it, I only have a few songs on my I-pod that are Rap out of like 100, but even I don't think it should be insulted like that.

It's like when my friends say Badminton sucks.  I don't even play the sport, but feel like I have to defend it.

Did Rap or the people associated with it do something to offend you, because I don't know anyone who is so set against hating something.  It's not good to hold grudges people  ;)

The reason why people are attracted to words or lyrics is because either they relate to what is being said or they love the sound of the Human voice or both.  These people are musical in every way as someone who listens to the voice of an instrument.

I listen to Music from Orchestras, to Grunge Rock to Epic Metal to New Age.  Music is the Universal Voice, but so is the Voice.

Now I have no idea what I'm saying anymore, but I thought Doom Kaboom lived in Canada?  :P
just cause you're in canada doesn't mean I am >>

and I just realized who you were after the doom kaboom >>

Yeah I drop in from time to time to make sure you're not dead : ]  I just forgot the password for my Kureaa account, and the e-mail I was using for it as well >,<

Is it just me, or has someone gone through internet puberty?  ;)

You're defending rap cuz no one else wants to! =D

If the Abyss was here, he would help me defend  *sniff* *sniff*

Okay Rap Music is like any genre of music.  Just because what's out there in the mainstream is mediocre, does not mean that all of Rap Music is that way.

2pac was a good musician, because his music had meaning to it.  It's WHAT he said that gave him the status of Rap Legend.

Everyone from System of a Down to Weezer have shown a respect for REAL Rap Music.  You can check out SOAD with Wu-Tang Clan or River Cuomo's Alone album if you don't believe me.

Although Rap is very much so influenced by Rock in many cases, Rap has also influenced many Rock Bands from Linkin Park to Papa Roach and the Beastie Boys.

I'd be lying if I said there weren't Disney songs that I very much liked as well.  When it comes to Rap though, the mainstream music you're listening to now with Solja Boy or whoever else is out there right now is not Rap.

Some Artists that still have decent songs are The Game, but most of the real rap left is underground from the political revolutionary styles of Immortal Technique to handlebars from Flobots.

It's cool if you don't like Rap Music, but to say it's garbage is to not know what it is.  It's the same as how Anime is labeled for children when adults see shows like Battle B'Damon, Beyblade, Pokemon and decide to classify the whole genre by what's seen on TV alone.

I'm not even that much of a Rap Music fan, I listen to all types of music.  I just felt like someone needed to defend it lol

As for the Artist I would bring back.....  I would bring back Kurt Cobain for a Nirvana show.  That would be awesome  :)
