Title: 2012 Jounin Exam Final Round
Post by: KayentaMoenkopi on June 08, 2012, 03:07:06 PM
Atsudoushi Shrine

A large shrine located near the peak of a large mountain. Being near The Forest of Demons, the shrine serves as a type of gate between the human and demonic realms. It is also said that within the deepest chambers of the shrine, The Dragon Maiden trains without rest among demonic spirits.

Nara Eric presumes that the setting was set and laid out for them... After all, were there no better places to travel than in places unknown? He and his team had travelled quite the distance in search of treasure, or in his case, in search of treasure. Unwittingly his comrades followed, not realizing that they were on a treasure hunt, not in the next match of the jounin exams. Of course, that's precisely why they were there, but Eric reasoned a little side-trackedness never hurt anyone. Nara Eric garbed in standard jounin attire, save for the darker coloration of his clothing and green camouflage pants, his sword strapped to his back, somewhat hidden underneath a backpack. His headband upon his forehead, it hid signs of previous  damages, where it had saved his life on many the occasion. His brown eyes matched well with his dark brown hair, and the emblem of his clan embrazened on the collar of his flak jacket and upon its back. "This way team!" He shouts, gesturing towards the mountain as they travelled down a beaten, yet not all that trodden it seemed path, with grass as their outline, a few rocks and hills along the way, dotted with boulders ranging from their size to more than four times their size. The path was only somewhat windy, and the four man team easily traversed it. After all, they had all been through worse.

Shortly behind was the first chunnin among them, Raisan, staying relatively close behind Eric, a large pack matched Eric's save for the somewhat larger size. The chunin flak jacket and pants were almost covered in pockets, presumably only half of them at best filled with things by appearance; this would make it seem baggy, but they were actually quite fluid in movement. Black, spikey hair complimented a small, healed scar on his left cheek. While tan skinned, his stout stature of about 5'8 made Eric seem only a bit tall, although they were only about four inches difference in height. He fumbles with his gloves, each with a metallic plates upon them. The shinobi had a smile of relief upon his face as he groaned, "At least it is relatively cool... The wind is blowing, but at least it's cool air."

"You said it!" a dark kunoichi cheerfully stated, "Not only that, our next opponent this time won't be so dune happy!" A black cloak covered her completely standard chunin attire, hiding the very tips of her jet black hair, nigh shoulder length. She has two bangs framing the front of her face. She seems absent of her headband, the only indication of it ever being present was a slight indention, the only flaw on her face, her silver eyes drawing most of the attention in that area. She walked with a bit of a bounce in her step, keeping her distance between her teamates. "Just stay focused, because Renna, I don't think we know where we are,"

A tall kunoichi with a much older appearance warned. Her face was a mix of playfulness and deathly seriousness, immediately drawing to reason why she was the one carrying up the rear instead of the other two chunin. At 6'2, she was two inches taller than Eric, giving her a somewhat dominant stature over the group, although it was a weak assertion with her being relatively far from their jounin leader. Wearing the standard chunin attire, save for shin, arm, and even face guards, the last framing her face much like that of a forehead protector styled face guard. Her chestnut brown hair, almost silky in appearance, could hardly be noticed with the tight ponytail that she kept it in, likely skilled in the field of hair doing as well as being a ninja.

"Don't worry Makata, we're almost to that mountain, in case you were wondering where our final destination was," Eric commented, not bothering to look back, "and besides, I doubt our enemy can sneak up on all four of us." "Wouldn't be the first time, Captain, that you were wrong if they do," Makata retorts, "I wonder about you sometimes." "And I wonder why you're so dang young," Eric mutters to himself, out of earshot of any of his comrade. She was too young for him to handle... At least without a sentence. Or was that just for civilian minors... Ah well, he'll look it up later.

Immortal Guardian Shadowfire laughed quite boredly. He and his squad remained sitting at the front of the Shrine. The mountain offered a great battlefield, but before him was a massive field. The grass stretched far into the distance where a ring of rocks broke just before the end of the trail. A small path led into the field, which splashed in great contrast to the orange walls of the Shrine behind the four man squad. Standing in the lax posture as he was, Shadow's onyx colored hair gently fell to his back in straight waves. His eyes, a bright and unerringly piercing golden color, watched the field. The barriers surrounding the mountain were studiously being breached, and thus warned as the incoming squad moved closer, and closer to the position of Shadow and his squad. He was clothed in a black robe, with a twisting red dragon upon its back. A black sheathed sword sat across the small of his lower back, the handle poking out at his right hip, over a white sheathed blade. He had one pouch at his back left hip, where he contained his scrolls. Upon his wrists, hidden within the sleeves, were two wrist-guards with summoning Kanji upon them. Obviously meant for the projectile weapons that all shinobi carried. A gentle breeze caused his hair to flutter slightly to the left where another shinobi stood.

The man, Lathasa by name, stood stoicly. His eyes swept back and forth. He had shoulder length black hair, having let it grow out since he last battled. He had no clue as to what he wanted to do. A sword was strapped to his back, and red symbols were written down his right and left arms. A headband was strapped to his forehead, the traditional four diagonal squiggly lines dictating that he was from Kirigakure, shined brightly in the sunlight. Lathasa fingered his hair. He was dressed in the flak jacket, blue in color. He had two pouches, one on each leg, within easy reach of his fingers and hands. Lathasa turned his head slightly to the right. "Thorn... You ready for this?" The kunoichi he spoke to was a frail looking female.

She was dressed in a simple shirt and jeans, though they were altered to allow her to move with her amazing agility. Acrobatics were something she prided herself on. Underneath that she wore a thin sheet of armor, strong enough to deflect most kunai, shuriken, and senbon strikes, but thin and comfortable enough so as not to reduce her movement. Long blond hair fell in wavy waves to the middle of her shoulder blades, and bright green eyes appraised the situation with a practiced eye. She seemed bored as she sat on the steps of the shrine. She cast her gaze back to Lathasa and smiles. "What do you take me for? Of course I'm ready. But at the rate this team is going I'll have grown a beard. Oh what a sight that would be!" She laughs rather hysterically.

Another Kunoicihi scoffed. She was dressed the same as Lathasa, a blue flak jacket hugging her body tightly. Her hair, red in color, fell to her jawline. She had cut, and dyed it, since she was last seen. It was to her character, nonetheless, to remain as unknown as she could, thus changing her appearance as often as she could. She ran a hand through her hair, a small braid falling beside her right eye, and hanging there. She was laying down on the ground in a lax position, tracing designs in the dirt. When she spoke, it was soft, and firm at the same time. "Would you two shut up? They're almost here..." The Kunai she was using flipped up, and was flung at a tree, indicating the path the incoming shinobi would come through. All of them turned to look at the kunoichi except Shadow.

Immortal Guardian Shadowfire turned to look in the direction the kunai was quivering. It was right. The last barrier was breached as the Shinobi were less than fifty meters away. Shadow remained lax, but the others slowly rose to their feet. True to their words, they were all looking forward to the battle. It was the final of the Jounin exams, and Shadow had enjoyed everything else thus far... so this battle should prove another fun game to play. A gusting wind yanked at Shadow's hair and robe, and caused them to thrash violently in the winds. Shadow's golden gaze spotted the incoming team easily enough. The mountain path broke at the fields, and everybody would be easy enough prey for Shadow's and his team's eyes. With a flick, all his team rose to greet the incomers. "Took them long enough." Thorn laughed softly. "I thought you didn't care!" Shadow rolls his eyes, and Lathasa laughs. "You girls are incorrigible." Shadow chuckles his agreement. "Look alive, folks. We are throwing a party, remember? And our guests have finally arrived." Shadow and his squad started forward to meet Eric and his halfway into the field.

Nara Eric was, as the group's leader, the very first to spot the other team. Inside he groaned, as he actually did come here for treasure hunting personally, and didn't like the prospect that he was still going to have to fight anyways. Last time he had ended up nearly unconscious just from the effort it took to beat down their last opponent. While their old strategy had had plenty of perks, it had been flawed, and he had been doing some tweaks to ensure that they don't fall prey to their time consuming mistake again. Besides, he didn't want to have to call on his mount, like last time. He surely wasn't ashamed to call on her for help, but he preferred a fight where that wasn't necessary. Course, history proved that it was unlikely that they'd defeat the jounin without her. It was hard to tell who was the jounin, though, as all four of them bore the resemblance of equally footed shinobi. A good thing? Only time would tell. It already seemed as if the team was much more energetic and participative than the last, their fight mostly being with the jounin, his chunin mostly nuisances. Eric sensed that things would be different this time, without a doubt.

Raisan spotted the opposing team, scouring over them, searching for any signs of who was the most combat capable of them. The one with the golden eyes, at least to him, stuck out as the leader, for his appearance alone distinguished him from the others. With a perceptive flare, he also paid attention to the way they seemed to greet them. They apparently were not surprised of their appearance, meaning that, unlike last time, their enemy had been waiting on them. Well... Enemy was such a strong word... Yet, that is what they in essence, since lives would be at stake most likely. They hadn't lost anyone last time.

Renna didn't want that to change. Already she could see that as far as male/female rations went, they seemed to be on similar terms. In their own group, however, it would become painfully obvious who the team leader was, as his flak jacket color reflected his status as jounin. Of course Makata could questionably be the leader, but with her bringing up the rear, Renna didn't figure that the other team would think that. They were, after all, walking in a straight line with little deterrence.

Makata smiled, quickly walking up as she spotted the opposing team. She had overheard laughter, and as she caught up to Eric, her height compared to his was noticeable. She whispered, breaking their team silence, "Seems we have some eye candy to face this time."

Eric didn't need a nudging to see at least what he thought she was talking about, the red head appealing to his visuals. "I don't know about you, but I am more concerned with the fact that they are Mist ninja..." Eric whispered back, their team near the halfway point,  "Keep an eye on your surroundings, and most importantly, don't lose each other." "You still have the kunai, yes?" "We all do, don't worry about that." "I can't help but wonder about your paranoia with Mist ninja Captain," Renna interrupted, appearing between the two, "I mean, they're mortal just like us.

"Well, he did fight against them in a war. Perhaps that is where it stems from?" Raisan offered, keeping the now rearmost position. "You all know how I fight, and understand why I don't like facing Mist ninja," Eric firmly stated, now within earshot of their opponents, "now be mindful, and don't forget each other." They all nodded in relative agreement, and then, as they reached the halfway line, lined up, almost perfectly horizontal, in the following order, almost from tallest to shortest in a odd way; Makata on the outer left, then, going to the right, Renna, Raisan, then Eric. Eric glanced at Raisan, who, with an "oh" took a single step back, now a slight T shape made.

Now that they were in some sort of order, Eric exclaimed, "Well, it's a pleasant surprise to see that you all came in such a timely manner... Last time we had a fellow who preferred to liquefy his dang body for half the battle. Quite the nuisance, I hope you don't know him by any chance. Anyways, representing Konohagakure in the final round of the Chunin... errr, Jounin Exams is Team Eric. I'm sure you've figured out who is Eric by now, and would like to say, welcome, or better yet, we are welcome here as your most intrigued guests! Of course we came not to treasure hunt, but to carry out the final portions of the exams, so that at long last we may all lay this rest, claim our consolation or grand prizes, and go on home. As our hosts, I hope you have refreshments available for after the show." Makata gave Eric a murderous look. Refreshments? Who in the heck was going to have time or even the interest... "Woohoo, we get to eat right afterwards this time!" Renna shouted in apparent joy, a bright smile lit upon her face. Having at least an idea of what Makata was thinking, Raisan couldn't help but attempt to stifle a chuckle, hoping deep down himself there was food and drink nearby.

Immortal Guardian Shadowfire spoke to the team as they neared the others. "Remember the plans... and be careful. I do hope we can make it out of this one much like we did the others..." He chuckled, and stopped. When Eric spoke about the refreshments, Shadow and his team let out a soft laugh. Shadow would take a small step forward, and offer his hand to the one called Eric. "It is a pleasure to meet you. I'm Shadow, this is Lathasa," He gestures to the male, "Thorn," He gestures to the blond "and of course Kara." He gestures to the redhead. He left his hand to shake Eric's, seemingly acting the cordial host. "Refreshments would be nice, no? I think I will do just that..."

He smiles and looks back at the shrine. "Oh yes! We're the team representing Kirigakure no Sato..." He smiles rather warmly. Lathasa eyed the incoming team, more particularly the females, however when the leader, Eric he presumed, spoke, he cast his gaze to examine the man. Keeping track of a few rather random notes, like the man's hair color, clothing, and type of footwear (among other innocuous details), he would return his gaze to the females. If he had learned one thing, it was that though females appeared "weak" in stature, they could be the most devastating members of any team. He smirked, remembering his first encounter with Thorn and Kara. Seemingly without thought he reaches up to rub the top of his head. Lathasa held a very serious air about him, and if it weren't for Shadow announcing his leadership, Lathasa could very well have taken the mantle. As it was, he remained nearly stoic as he examined the opposing team.

Thorn on the other hand let out a beaming smile. The effect could be quite killer with her golden locks, and perfectly white teeth. However, hidden beneath her benign behavior was that of an analytic mind. She ran a hand through her locks as Shadow spoke her name, seemingly completely relaxed. Thorn leaned over and in an exaggerated whisper to Lathasa said, "They look afraid of us. Do you think it's because we're drop dead gorgeous." She and Lathasa chuckled, and Lathasa shook his head at her. "You can be so childish sometimes, Thorn."

The redhead, Kara by name, shook her head and pinched the bridge of her nose. Her demeanor was seemingly bored already. She noticed Eric's original glance, and offered a small smile in response, before going about fixing her hair and clothing. She reached up to tuck the braid behind her ear, before returning her scorching green oculars up to gaze at the opposing team. She and Thorn stood slightly back, She closer to Shadow. Without much to say, she gazed about. This female wasn't very verbose to begin with, which made it ever more important what she had to say when she spoke. She fingered the braid again, bored all ready by the exchange. Her eyes fell on Eric and raked him with a look, seemingly checking the male out.

Shadow returned to the forefront of the conversation. "So... You seem to have the need to unload... Which makes me wonder what your true original purpose for this trip was..." Shadow smirks softly, shaking his head. "Who cares? We should help them unload..." She would wink at the nameless male in the group rather conspicuously. This would cause a bit of laughter from Shadow's crew, the most musical laughter coming from the leader himself. Shadow rolled his eyes. "Just ignore her. We all do." He chuckles and rolls his eyes again as thorn stick her tongue out at him. Lathasa shakes his head in mock disappointment. "What is our world coming to when we tease our opponents before we engage them. Oh woe is me." The male pouted in mock distress. Kara quirked a brow, and stiffed a rather rare laugh. Nonetheless, the team would greet the opponents with an open warmth, born of years of camaraderie.

They were all wary of their opponents, yet none of them would commit to reaching out to deliver the first strike. Rather, they waited, already having the nearly thirty set plans in place and ready in their minds. They did remain vigilant of any infinitesimal, or innocuous movements for attack by their enemies.

Nara Eric smiled and called out, "If you want me to really 'unload', you should..." "Captain!" Makata interrupted, "we are not here for a picnic!" "Bah! This scenery would be perfect..." "Come on Cap, let's get this started, seeing as they are not taking the initiative!" Grumbling somewhat irritably, he mutters, "Can't treasure hunt can't even have a bit of fun... Killjoys these kids are nowadays."

After a slightly awkward silence amongst the group, they looked towards each other. "Well... Since I'm in the middle here, I guess I"ll call it..." "No need, we already know what we're doing first, we went over that already before we got here. I'm just making sure you all know I"m focused." What he was focused on, though, was what Renna had been worried about, rather than the fact that he wasn't focused at all.

Eric nodded to the ones down the line, and after yet another pause, a slight breeze blew. A deep breathe was taken by all members present before the front three began a series of handsigns.Upon completing his set, Eric exhaled what seemed to be air, suggesting a futon attack; however, as their opponents would find out later rather than sooner, he actually exhaled a highly flammable gas. This was towards a "center" point, a foot in front of Renna, meaning that Eric was launching his attack at an angle. (Katon: Kasumi Enbu no Jutsu; Fire Release: Mist Blaze Dance Technique)

The reasoning behind this would not become quite evident until Makata released from her hand a wave of electricty, to come into contact with the gas. Upon first inspection that would only send the flame veering off in some off direction, far from their their opponents (Lightning Release: Electromagnetic Murder; Raiton: Jibashi)

Renna, the attacks beginning to emerge in front of her; before they do, however, Renna exhales a powerful gust of wind straight forward, straight towards their opponents (Futon: Kamikaze; Wind Release: Divine Wind). The result and timing of this combination would create powerful combination attack that, as the three streamed it, would send a large, bright yellow stream of fire towards their opponents, the infusion of Katon, Futon, and Raition reducing the odds that the opposing team could, individually at least, stop the attack by countering it with its symbolic elemental weakness, water.

As an onwards, which their enemies would likely be unaware, the jutsu was targeted to land right at the center of their positioning. Upon coming into contact with something, the ground their target, it would explode, sending flames and light sparks of raiton within a five meter raduis. Enhanced and slightly modified version  [Raika Horai no Jutsu; Coming of the Lightning Fire Phoenix Technique]

Since the threat of their own team being harmed by the attack was evident, Raisan slammed his palms upon the ground in preperation to put up a defense of sorts.

Immortal Guardian Shadowfire was not one to wait idly. At the first shift of their muscle tension, he barked the order "Get back!" The entire team threw themselves back, and slid across the ground, ripping up the grass and casting dust into the air.

As they did, Shadow would have already formed seals. Exuding his chakra, he called forth the water from the area around them, forcing them to combine together and bend to his will. IN less than three seconds, about the time it would take Eric to finish the seals and begin exhaling the mist, A five meter length, six meter tall wall of water separated the two teams. Furthermore, the dust would begin to clog the air as Kara dropped to the ground under cover of the dust, and water wall, to slam her palms into the ground.

A slight tremor would be felt as she spoke only for the purpose of her own ears. "Doton: Chikyu domu." By now the others would have converged upon Kara's position. as a massive dome of Earthen material covered them and thus obscured them from the view of their new opponents. They would not be deemed enemies for this was only a competition to Shadow. Only a fun game, and thus they were merely opponents.

Moving as one unit, the four members of the squad each created a clone. This clone was then strategically enamored with a number of seal tags. These tags contained already stored chakra, as well as a fuinjutsu that would attempt to fool the Byakugan, should any of the opponents possess such a dojutsu, by giving the appearance of a circulatory network. This was even known to have fooled some of the best Hyuuga's in the land. Nevertheless, the shinobi made their copies and endowed them with the seals.

At this time the wall of water would be hit by the flames, and steam would fill the air with the dust, further obfuscating the Mist Shinobi. it was hardly enough to defeat an incoming technique but it was never meant to. Kara had created the necessary tunnel that would lead the originals away. SO hidden by the earth, Kara's doton abilities, and the dust and what not, they made their escape to lay the traps.

The clones would depart the clone almost immediately, dashing outside the radius of the oncoming combo attack. (keep in mind the following exploits are due to the clones) Lathasa separated from the squad, and activated the seals on his arms. As he did they would vanish from the arms, and appear upon the three foot blade he drew from its sheath. He slid to a halt, and sung his blade up, sending a bolt of red energy at his opponent. It wasn't a high powered attack, just one to get their attention, and possibly stun if it struck. The opponent he aimed for was the second male, Raisan.

Shadow danced to the left, and flung forth a senbon. Using the well known clone technique, he created thirty from the one senbon he threw. his target was the whole of the other squad. Thorn fell back, taking a step away from the battle. She made no move to really jump into the battle, but instead seemed to be waiting.

Kara stood beside Thorn, holding two daggers in her hands, a third seemingly floating on air currents before her, creating a horizontal figure eight pattern. These were her three fabled blades: Kathara, a red handled blade with flickering flames etched into the yellowish colored blade; Lathasa, a blue handled blade with a nearly clear colored blade. A seemingly endless frozen mist seems to fall from the handle. The blade forming the pattern before her was green in color with a purple blade. She remained motionless as she watched the incoming opponents.

"Status report!" Eric would shout after they finished delivering their attack, it's explosion quite bright in fact. The water barrier, due to the heat of the technique, would offer little resistance to the attack; but as the attack had been already set to a destination, it burst, sending calcine flames and raiton sparks all over. At the same while, the grass along the sides would quickly alight, the fires suddenly and quickly spreading in the forward direction the futon had initially directed them.

Eric observed this, along with the flames spreading in their own direction as well. As the team's sensory ninja, Renna would focus, extending her chakra outwards over the general area. She detected the falling back opposing team. However, it also seemed as if two were making a stand... Renna quickly deduced that she was overcounting in fact, and that at least each one of them likely created a clone, their chakra signatures present at least twice each. The obvious problem now was who was real and who wasn't.

"Our enemy has created shadow clones, meaning they've split their chakra... This also means that they don't plan on using that earthen barrier for very long..." "Then we should wipe out anything in sight to make sure that their clones are taken out as well as them!" Makata suggested, "It would certainly give us the advantage..." "But it would be a waste if chakra if all they left behind were clones," Eric cut off quickly, "not to mention we've already practically unveiled all of our elements..."

"Incoming!" Renna shouted as the senbon and energy ball came into view. His nerves completely prepared for this, Raisan noted that, due to the dust, and mist, their enemy likely did not attack from there... Forget it, finding the enemy was not his task! "Doton: Doryuheki; Earth Release: Earth Style Wall!" Raisan shouted as he channeled his chakra into the ground at long last, a tall earthen wall emerging in front of his team, the thickness being nearly two feet. The wall was wide enough to stretch across to block both the energy ball and the senbon.

As the senbon bounced off the walls and the energy ball impacted, Eric took a few steps back, his two point comrades following his lead. The energy ball wouldn't go through, although it would leave a very noticeable impact mark. "However they plan on things, we can't spend chakra like this the entire match!"  Raisan chastised as he rose, "We aren't out of chakra yet, collectively I hope, but..." "We're well aware of our personal limits Raisan," Makata sharply cut off, "If our enemy is backing off, shouldn't we pursue?" "Or their clones are doing the backing off and their fighting..." "If everyone would be quiet for a moment I'll tell you what I think they are doing."

Silence yet again. "Ahead is a shrine; what is past that seems to be a forest of sorts. Once in there we'll be on more familiar terrain. Since the fire is spreading that way, it's only a matter of time before they are forced to emerge anyways. Besides, we have four threats to deal with immanently, clone or not." "Agreed... But we should be conservative. We have enough chakra pills for all four of us to get replenished twice each. Hopefully we won't need to press our luck and get that far. Anyways, our enemy is probably drawing back to formulate a battle plan, and maybe set up traps. With the fire going from the lack of ground moisture, it isn't going to take long for things to start getting hot around here. The weather also will start getting thunderstorm-ish if we give it time." "That's a good thing right?" Makata offered.

"We're facing Mist ninja; I don't want it to also start raining too," Eric worriedly states, "We don't want to give their water an edge." "So what is the plan of attack?" Eric smiled, thinking for a few moments. "There is a mountain beyond the forest. If the fire gets into the forest,, then they'll be pushed in that direction..." "And the attackers?" Eric snickered, saying, "I'll take care of them. You guys get ready for the next phase."

Eric figured that by now their enemy would have been given the chance, most certainly, to consider their own strategy. He takes out two kunai with explosive tags and shunshins to a rock to the left of the barrier and such. He peeks from the rock, observing the now cleared battlefield. "Well, in that case, here's what I think he has in mind..." Makata started, gathering the remaining behind the earthen wall.

The attack was stopped easily enough, and the dust would settle quickly. The air was becoming noticeably warmer due to the flames. Shadow smirked. If that continued the two conflicting fronts would cause a massive thunderstorm. However that would take too long for his plans. Instead, Shadow turned to eye Thorn, Kara, and Lathasa. He nodded. That was the signal. As the other team planned, Shadow formed a long string of seals necessary for his most infamous jutsu.

It was something well known in Kirigakure, and a good amount of other shinobi. He smiled at the last seal "Suiton: Chakura Hakai Ame!" Suddenly dark clouds would roll over the area. The clouds would blanket the skies, and thus darken the field. A moment later a roar would be heard as rain poured from the clouds. Of course, this was no ordinary rain. No. This was Shadow's Chakra Destruction Rain Technique... With an initial burst of Shadow's chakra, the rain would take on a special property. Small, however the sheer number of drops would give a good trickle of chakra being stolen nearly constantly. Eric's team wouldn't be the only one effected. Shadow's team would also loose chakra in the same way, with the exception alone of Shadow himself, who remained unaffected by the technique.

Lathasa, knowing the technique would come quickly dashed forth followed by Thorn and Kara. Lathasa and Kara dropped back as they neared the wall. the reason became apparent a second later when Thorn propelled herself slightly in the air. Swinging her fist back, she infused it with a precise amount of chakra. This would be the point that Eric moved to his spot. Thorn slammed her fist into the wall, releasing the chakra in a burst with precise piercing power. It would be enough to cause the wall to splinter, and shatter inwards sending large chunks at the opposing team huddled behind it.

Lathasa, after falling back, had formed the necessary seals for his technique. Thorn flipped backwards multiple times, and threw herself above Lathasa and Kara. As soon as she was out of the clear, Lathasa grinned, releasing his technique. "Kazekiri no Jutsu." He swung his blade in an arc, releasing a wave of highly powered wind. This wind would gouge the earth, and seemingly split the particles of the world itself as it rushed forth. At the release of such a powerful technique (super bolstered at Lathasa's whim) a tag on his arm would disintegrate under his clothes. However the effect would be a draining in the chakra nimbus he possessed (level with the amount said technique would normally take.

"We need to back up!" Kara spoke softly, as her three daggers now all floated in intricate patterns about her. She would form a set of seals, and grab the red handled blade. A semicircle of yellow flames would surround them, giving them a seeming protective field for them to dash back. Meanwhile Shadow remained in his stoic position. His rain quickly putting out the original flames, and then the summoned flames of Kara. The other three returned to Shadow, As he formed the seals necessary for a jutsu. Following the same principle of the earth dome, Shadow dropped and slammed his palm into the ground. "Suiton: Mizu no domu..." In response, thefalling water would coalesce into a protective sphere around Shadow and his team, cutting off the rain's power about them, and thus effectively protecting Shadow's team from the effects of his rain. The dome remained clear, giving the clones a view of the landscape now ravaged by the battle, and their opponents. <----------- (actions of the clones)

(Actions of reals) ---------> Shadow's team had finished the first set of the necessary placements. Kara had run the wires, chains, and other lines masterfully about the arena. The fire was extinguished, and they were now huddled out of sight, and out of reach of the rain. Lathasa was watching the battle for Shadow's team, and reporting it to Shadow as he stood drawing the design in the dirt. "It will be simple from here." Kara, Lathasa, and Thorn looked up, and gave a nod before all scattering.

Shadow, knowing there was a sensor in the group of opponents, had no choice but to bump up their plans. He would position himself atop the shrine, holding his white blade in hand. Lathasa, Kara, and Thorn all positioned themselves in their proper places, using the nearby cover to keep the rain off themselves. Rain Pelted Shadow in his position, as a wind tugged his robe and hair out to the left. The opposing team would (most likely) only notice Shadow after they dealt with the incoming attack, and by then it would be far too late.

He remained stoic, watching their clones function perfectly, and battling the plan as they were meant to. It would only take so long, and already they had each lost one tag. Which put them each down to seven apiece. Not that it mattered much. If Shadow's team was lucky, and if the plan worked... it was possible this next technique could end the battle. They hoped it would be without any losses for either side, however.

Renna had been plotting the movements of particularly the clones for quite the bit; and upon realizing that the Mist rain technique was in usage, she said to her teamates, "Our enemy plans on at the very least draining us down for chakra. Currently they are inbound." "Then let's show them a thing or two!"[/color=lightgreen] Makata exclaimed, but was stopped by Renna. "Time to regroup."

As the team motioned to follow Eric, the earthen barrier was struck. Eric noticed the changing elements of the battlefield, he quickly hurls the two explosive kunai across the field, to the other side in fact; they would detonate within moments of reaching a bouldered area. Once that was done, he would also take out a black kunai, a set of kanji set within the hilt. He threw that also in succession, as his next plan of attack would require a bit of crafty work. This kunai would reach the newly created hole in the ground that would be created. The hole would become later described.

Realizing that yet another attack was inbound, Makata ducked as three kunai flew by her, almost striking her. She caught a glimpse of the color of the last one, and realized what Eric now intended on doing. She takes the head as all three shunshin to Eric's position. Promptly Eric becomes the center of a trioed triangle, and upon kneeling, he whispers, "Kage Ido; Shadow Migration!" The entire group seemingly sinks into the ground, giving the illusion that they had vanished into the ground via a doton technique.

The slicing wind wave would completely rape their former places, practically taking out former positions. Meanwhile, in the cave-like hole created, the first explosion had effectively gouged out a hole in the ground, the second one deepening it to the point where it was a shallow tunnel within the ground. The black kunai thudded inside the tunnel, seconds before Eric and his team reemerged at the kunai, who's shadow was well merged with that of the tunnel's. "I gotta take a breather..." Eric exclaimed, his normally cheap technique actually somewhat draining. It was probably because he was transporting three people who did not have the shadow seal via the gate of shadows.

Staying in the intermediate zone would have been beneficial, but Eric knew that, while they were temporarily covered from the rain and thus detection via that or chakra drain, and that the black kunai was likely not noticed, the explosions probably were. Raisan nodded, then, using his doton chakra, began tunneling, backtracking and falling back from their previous position. Upon his teamates following, he would collapse parts of the tunnel behind them, making it seem like they were attempting to bunker underground. Eric had taken his kunai with him, as he did not want it to fall into rival hands, and as the formerly black kunai (having returned to its normal gray color) was put away, Eric silently contemplated a counterstrike strategy.

Their eyes, at least for now, was going to have to be Renna. Renna maintained a nervous eye, being underground never one of her forte's. Makata didn't like the underground either, but she reasoned that their enemy wouldn't likely try to flood them out. Their tunnelling would be nigh noiseless, and at least for a little while, it would be good, and wise for that matter, to be out of the rain. Besides, they were no further down than six feet below the surface, so returning to the surface shouldn't pose a laborious task.

(Clones actions) Kara flicked her eyes about, watching the detonation, of two explosively packed Kunai. A glimpse, almost like a shadow would land in the same area next. Or so she thought. Twisting slightly, she cast her gaze in that direction as if searching for whatever created the shadow. She turned back. "Shadow. I can't see, but it looks like they went over there..." Shadow, who had already noticed the explosions, forced energy into his eyes. Half a moment later, the veins about his eyes became more prominent, and the golden eyes turned an almost white pale gold. "Byakugan!"

His gaze scoured the ground just in time to find the last retreating figure disappear into a collapsing tunnel. Shadow smirks. "It seems they are playing smart... but we need to flush them out. The water dome will only be sustained for thirty -two seconds more. Then we move to the next phase. Kara... You know what to do..." Kara eyed Shadow, and smirked. "Of course."

Kara turned and formed a set of seals in quick succession. Twisting, she utilized the Shunshin no jutsu to cast herself forth, appearing near the tunnel entrance. She would slam her palm into the ground, "Doton: Doryu Taiga!" Spreading forth from her palm and following the path of the tunnel, the earth would seem to liquefy into a mud slide. This would, effectively, destroy the tunnel, and create a mud wave roaring towards where Eric's team was located underground.

A half second later, Thorn appeared high above the ground, near the back side of the tunnel, and where it would be stopped. She used the trailing mud to pinpoint her target. She dropped from the air, and swung her right fist forward, slamming it into the ground with enough force to shatter a crater with a diameter of five meters in every direction, and a depth of three meters. The crumbling ground would force the team out, and would also begin to collect the mud wave.

Thorn righted herself then swung her left leg up, and brought her heel down. She infused the kick with chakra, and released the chakra in a shifting style, sending it into the ground in a multitude of wave forms, and directions. The shifting chakra would cause the earth around to tremble slightly. This would, hopefully, throw the opposing team off balance.

Kara steadied herself as the shaking began. Two second later she and Thorn shunshined back to the others.

Lathasa swung his sword to the left. As he did, the first red symbol would light up upon his blade. His red chakra would cause a red coloring. He would grip his bicep with his left hand, then jump forward out of the water dome. Targeting the opposing squad, He would land upon the ground in a form that flowed. Swinging his arm in an underhand stroke, he would bring his arm forward, and slice it into the air, releasing a destructive wave of red energy. This energy, infused with wind chakra, would travel at exponential speeds at the opponents. Furthermore, it's destructive power would be that much more, and such it would tear the ground. His target was the center of the formation of Shinobi. His goal? To hopefully separate at least one from the rest of the squad.
He would follow up the first slash with a horizontal slash of pure wind blades. Almost like a distraction, the first attack would be meant to keep the opponents attention as the second, nearly invisible wind slashes would be meant to hit, and thus damage the opponents. The first attack carried the lethal potential to sever the enemies in half, and could cause exponential damage, but the secret second attack is what the target point was.

Lanthasa would hop back into the water dome and escape the draining rain as a second, and half a third tag vanished from him. Shadow sighed. "We're running out of these chakra seals too fast. We need to be more conservative with the attack styles we do. Granted the originals still contain power, we need to wear the opponents down more..."

Shadow tapped the two wrist guards, and summoned forth a dozen Shuriken. He would jump, just high enough to clear and stand upon the dome. With practiced movements he would throw the shuriken, then summon more and toss them, and more, until he had thrown nearly one hundred shuriken and nearly exhausted his supply. The black projectiles would be somewhat hidden by the darkness cast from the clouds above, and the rain would continue to thunder down upon the ground, hopefully draining more chakra from the opponents. Shadow remained atop the sphere.

(actions of the originals). Shadow and his squad remained in their positions as the clones maneuvered the field, and the opponents into the necessary areas. Though it would be mighty hard for their opponents to figure out the strategy Shadow's team had in action, He would wait for the signal. His eyes scanned, and watched the battle rage below, listening to the earpiece he had plugged in.

Kara smiled, and depressed the transceiver button. "We're ready... The plan is set. All that remains is for you to give the signal and the go ahead." Shadow nodded, and responded to the team "You'll know the signal. When it comes, jump to the three spots... Remember your job. If all goes well... We shall end this battle with one fell swoop." "Hell yeah..." "About damn time. This is already getting boring. I swear they have no strategist on their team. I mean look at them scrambling about!" "Thorn. Head in the game. Stop worrying about their strategist, and more about the strategist on your team who you don't want to piss off."

Thorn scoffs, and adjusts the bracelet on her left wrist. She knew Shadow was right, but she hated to admit it. She turned her eyes to the clones from her secluded and sheltered spot. None of the originals were getting touched by the rain. Previous planning on Shadow's part. Which meant they wouldn't be loosing chakra like the clones (excluding Shadow's clone, and the original Shadow) and the opposing team would be. It was the only reason Shadow had the position on the shrine. The rain didn't effect him, and he was nearly hidden in the darkness of the rain. Though the opposing team would notice him soon. Of that she was sure. Their tracker was good enough to hold with the best.

Lathasa hunkered down, digging his feet in. It wouldn't take long now. Once the opponents noticed the real Shadow they would be able to join the fight. A drop of water landed on his shoulder and sapped a bit of chakra from him. He examined it, shook his head, shifted from the area to reduce the possibility of any more touching him, and cast his gaze back at the opponents and clones. Thorn shifted from foot to foot, awaiting the signal. A gust of wind tore at Shadow's hair and robe as lightning flashed in the clouds above. The rain continued to fall in a steady downpour. If they didn't win the battle by the plan they had set, this rain would do it for them... or so he hoped.

The clone had sacrificed a full chakra seal for it... so it was more powerful than normal... Either way... the time would be soon. Shadow waited, and watched in tense anticipation.

Renna registered the oncoming enemies quickly, warning "They might try to trap us underground... Prepare for a doton defense!" "Do better than that!" Eric growled, clasping his hands together, a blue aura of futon chakra and air surrounding his form. "No time for that!" Makata shouted as she reared to the rear of the tunnel. While the specific style of doton was not clear, it was clear that doton was going to be used against them, in the tunnel area behind them.

With little hesitation she channeled some raiton chakra into her hand, not an incredible amount as she knew raiton's strength over Doton. As she touched the tunnel, she directed the raiton inadvertently towards the oncoming mudslide attack through conduction, intent on shocking the user of the technique, as they likely would have had their hands on the ground at the start of the attack. (Lightning Release: Wave of Inspiration; Raiton: Kangekiha).

Raisan realized through his intuition and doton technique that somehow, their enemy had quickly uncovered where they had retreated to. As a result, they likely were going to attempt to stop them with yet another doton technique... Since Makata's raiton chakra was covering their rear, it was improbable that she would also be able to stop a forward attack also. As a result, only one option, he feared, made sense. With speed of the essence, knowing that his team would follow suit shortly, he channelled Doton chakra all around his body, and with great speed, began tunneling downwards; not straight downwards, nor in a constant direction, swerving and changing directions, quickly lengthening and deepening the tunnel's length. At the rate he was going, it wouldn't be long before he created a large sinkhole beneath the entire area that so far they had been combating, though it would take some time. His goal, however, was to create an underground tunnel system, to reduce the chance that their enemy would predict their next move, and to allow more air into the passageways.

Eric, with the blue aura still surrounding him, reached into his weapons pouch, pulling out a single shuriken, each of its pointed stars having wrapped around it an explosive tag, four in all. Although this would reduce the shuriken's aerodynamic nature ever so slightly, Eric knew what he was going to do next to make up for that.
Knowing what came next, Renna clasped her hands together, somewhat surprised that the uncompleted beast armor was holding so well under its conditions. She compressed air from further tunneling and her own futon chakra, up to the point that they were rather set upon by the upward roof being stricken.

Eric tossed the shuriken somewhat into the air as some debris began coming down, the built up pressure he knew about to be released, he clasped his hands together, and as his wind armor flickered for a moment, the next event was bound to surprise their opponents. As the single shuriken was thrown, it suddenly became thousands, suddenly spawning from what seemed nowhere. (Shuriken Kage Bunshin no Jutsu; Shuriken Shadow Clone Jutsu).

The team knew that the rain would completely reduce chakra-based attacks and whittle them, were they nothing but pure chakra. However, as the force Renna had been using to hold the air was removed from the equation, even released upon her will, the thousand, quadruple explosive tagged shuriken would suddenly burst out. The resulting release of air, shuriken, dirt, and earthen materials in general would sound like a volcano bursting. The shuriken would swiftly take to the air, almost blanketing the air with the projectiles.

Eric clasped his hands, detonating almost all of them at once, once they had sufficiently spread throughout the air. Renna and Eric retreated into the tunnel seconds after the command had been sent out, although it wasn't entirely by choice, as the force from the many explosions, more than enough to devastate their opponents were they caught within it, forced them downwards into the tunnel complex that Raisan had created, some of the closer to the surface tunnels closing in. The few explosive tags that Eric did not detonate were the ones closest to the ground as, after all, were they detonated, they would be nigh finished themselves.

The resulting explosion, however, covered sufficient grounds even encompassing as far as the shrine in its climatic and nigh apocalyptic fury. Makata had stopped the mudslide attack; she was on her way, heading down the tunnel when the bright light filled the tunnel, and the shaking began. She prepared for the worst, not sticking around to see what Eric and Renna had had in mind, but instead quickly moved through the tunnels, intent on linking back up with Raisian, not interested in having either him or her getting separated from the group too long.

* realizes he forgot the wind wave, and adds that the release of air and the resulting explosions would affect the wave. :/

(actions for the clones) Kara let out a howl as the lightning struck her, and disrupted the chakra network illusion. Not only that, but it burned out three of her chakra seals before she ripped her self away from the technique...

Thorn ran towards the bloodied Kara, forming seals along the way. Having created the crater, and the trembling earth, her concern was for her teammate now. However she would be interrupted by an eruption from the earth. She had only enough time to register the detonation before her and Kara vanished in a puff of smoke. The attack was powerful enough to completely and utterly destroy the clones, and their chakra seals.

Lathasa, uncharacteristically let out a curse, as he and Shadow braced themselves within the sphere of water. The incoming blast rumbled, and hit the sphere, causing it to ripple, but to remain there. A second seal burned off Shadow's body. Lathasa, not having seen the enemies emerge from the ground, had not attacked. However, he knew the circumstances well. Thorn and Kara had just been destroyed by the massive blast created from thousands of detonating Shuriken. He also knew that the technique, as simple as it was, would have needed a substantial amount of chakra to be used on such a wide scale. That alone made it so it was the fault of the other teams jounin. At least, that was his conclusion. It looked as if Shadow himself came to the same conclusion a moment later.

Shadow rose to his feet, and jumped through the barrier above to land atop it. The rain still came down, but it was slowly loosing it's sapping powers. Shadow knew that if he didn't feed it, it would simply turn into a normal rain.... Either way he still held the advantage. However... Committing half a seal to it, he re-powered the jutsu and remained above. His Byakugan still active, he scoured the arena. He found none of the enemies, until he turned his gaze downwards. The tunnel system the they had created made it easier for shadow to track them, even with the dense packed earth in the way. He smirked. "Lathasa. They've gone underground. What say we give them a nice surprise?"

Lathasa quirked a brow as Shadow Shunshined to the great gaping hole, and to the beginning of the deeper tunnel system they had forgotten to cover. Releasing his water dome, as he needed his undivided attention, he slammed his palms together. Dredging up a massive amount of enough to deplete a majority of his remaining chakra seals, leaving him with only one, and the illusion seal, he would call the water forth from the falling rain, the ground, and even converting his chakra into water itself. "Let's see how you handle this one, Eric. Lathasa... Get to higher ground. I'm going to change the playing field a bit..." he smirks slightly then releases one of the most powerful jutsu in his collection.

"Suiton: Bakusui Shoha!" As he said this, a torrent of water would create a fountain below him, and lift him into the air.The fountain of water would spread out quickly, soon creating a massive tsunami that Shadow floated atop of. With a crouch, and a jump back, he flipped towards the highest tree at the edge of the forest. As he did, the wave would crash down, and flood the arena they were fighting within. At the same time, it would flood down the tunnels towards the now trapped team below. it would also fill the area with a depth of twelve meters of water. The opposing team would need a miracle to avoid this one.

Lathasa, upon hearing Shadow's order, turned and ran like a bat out of hell. He knew what was coming as soon as he watched all the Seals vanish off the clone. He knew better than to even attempt to disobey an order when such an attack was coming. The roar of the crashing wave would fill the air, and would urge lighter, and faster steps from him. Once he reached the edge of the forest, he scaled a tree without even breaking a step, or his current rhythm. Once he reached the top, he spun, and dashed from tree top to tree top, only breaking three of them, and having to catch himself. Finally he landed in the tree next to the stoic Shadow.

Shadow nodded at Lathasa. "When they come out... hit them with all you've got... I want you to produce the most powerful with chakra blade you can.... This needs to end now... Otherwise we'll need to change strategies." Shadow eyed the field with a bit of contempt. They had already lost Kara and Thorn's clones... Shadow and Lathasa were the only two remaining clones, and Lathasa had only four seals left, and Shadow one. If they should run out, then the strategy would be in peril unless the crew could finish before that happened.

(Actions of the originals) Shadow's eyes widened in disbelief at the raging detonation of the shuriken. Such a power was uncommon. He didn't have a lot of time to react, but it was enough for him to form the seal necessary. He would hop back to the exact center of the shrine's roof, and press his palms together. Thrusting his hand out, he created a claw like form with his hand, and twisted to the right. In response, the rain would gather around him with alarming speed to create a sphere of dense water. "Suiro no Jutsu..."

Though normally meant for offense and to trap an opponent, Shadow had adapted this technique for defense as well. Reinforcing it with Chakra, the water became nearly impenetrable. As a result, the blast would only be effective enough to cause Shadow to slide back a few feet, and the shrine to shake. As the explosion ended, he keyed his team."Report..." "Fine. I found cover from the attack..." "Fine as well. Only sustained a few minor burns on my legs. it seems the blast of the wind knocked it towards yours and my positions, sir. Was that by accident?" "I'm fine. The blast didn't even move far into my direction. I only needed move a few feet away from my target point." "Good. Everyone---" he paused as he noted the clones. "Move into a higher point, and prepare to quickly reestablish your positions. Don't go far. If you can, build a barrier rather than move. Even with chakra if you have too. Things are going to get very wet, very fast." "The colliding wave, sir?" "Yes. Now move." "SIR!" They would answer in unison, and then move to accomplish the tasks as the tsunami began, and the Earth was covered in  water.

It brushed the sides of the shrine, and topped about halfway to it's zenith. Shadow spotted the clones at the edge of the forest across the way. He smirked. With a flick of his arm, he grabbed the hilt of his white blade, and lifted it up, and from it's sheath. Brandishing it over his head, the light would catch slightly on the blade, making it seem iridescent. The clouds overhead continued to belch rain. The clone Lathasa, Lathasa, Thorn, and Kara would now be loosing chakra, though it was understated for the originals due to them being in the covers they had quickly established.

"Sir. Back in position, and under cover. Is there a way we can let up this rain? it's dangerous for all of us." "Back in position! I second Lathasa's request." "Consider it with a third back up. I am back in position as well." Shadow sighed. It was probably best... and he could use the chakra back. He pressed his hands together, and smiled. "Release..."

The collected chakra would flood back into Shadow, and the Shadow clone. Any excess that they could not absorb was then converted into the clouds to keep the rain going. Though that would soon dissipate. The rain would still continue to pour down, however, though without it's special ability now. This was the cause of the two fronts from earlier. The rain, normal as it was, still provided a great advantage to Shadow. He slowly walked forth to the edge of the shrine's roof, and reversed his grip on the hilt of the blade, pointing it towards the ground now. He held it before him, and waited to see his opponents rise. The moment they did, he would finally put his plan into action.

Raisan eventually ended his tunnelling as the explosions began dying down. He popped his head, for the first time, from the surface, wincing slightly as the rain began sapping at his chakra. He exitted the tunnel swiftly, only to realize that he was far closer to the shrine than he had wanted to be. The shrine was almost directly in front of him, and behind him a forest. Knowing very well that he had crossed into the forest of potential death, as he had lost track of his enemies awhile back without Renna directing them on it.

Makata, as the shaking stopped, began crawling up a tunnel, only to find Raisan staring towards something in awe. She appeared next to him, her head barely appearing above the entrance. She soon saw that he was staring at the shrine. She removed herself from the tunnel, suddenly feeling a familiar tingling of her person. As the explosions began dying down, Eric near well collapsed, panting, the blue aura surrounding him dissipating as it shielded him from his unpleasant face plant. He rises, shaking his head, as the ringing in his ears coincides with the end of the explosions. knowing that he still had explosive shuriken left, he looked for Renna.

Renna was already over to him, a look of hysteria on her face. "Wha..." Eric started, Until Renna pulled out a single kunai, a three ponged tool of sorts with a kanji written paper along the hilt. Renna had sensed the sudden peace, and the collection of water that was beginning to gather towards one of the chakra presences uncomfortably close to their position. She wrapped one arm around Eric, then channelled chakra into the kunai. In a poof of smoke the two would vanish, as a large torrent of water would suddenly overtake the area they had been.

The explosive tagged shuriken that had not been set to explode, the ones closest to the ground, were swept into the tunnels, their tags ever still effective even as they were swept below ground into the tunnel system. (Kuchiyose Ido) Makata, the tingling ever familiar, stepped to the side, as her two teamates were practically reverse summoned to her left and right, Renna and Eric respectively. Raisan quickly recognized the signs of fatigue, and with a swift motion reached into his backpack and brought out two chakra pills. Wordlessly Raisan handed them over, to which Eric and Renna obliged by catching their respective pills with their mouths. Raisan popped one in his own mouth, and then offered one to Makata. Makata shook her head in refusal, the main lookout for the team ever watchful for movement of some sort.

Slightly bitter, acknowledging that they were slowly being worn down, Eric muttered, "Our opponents are good... Here in the forest, there are few places that rain can get at us. However, I"m concerned that they may attack before we are ready... Renna, how much chakra left?" "I haven't used mine quite as much as yours, but I hope you don't ask for a hurricane." A nervous chuckle went through the group, the brief, very brief respite only somewhat chippering the group. Each prepared for the next fork in the road.

(Actions of the remaining clones.) Lathasa jumped forth atop the surface of the water. His job was easy now.... Easy enough to make him hate it. Running forth, he approached the back of the team while creating seals. Though it would only take so long for him to approach, he knew it would cause the others, especially the sensor in the group to notice him, and thus warn the others of his approach. Finishing his seals, he would come to a stop atop the water, looking at the opposing team.

They were slightly warn down. but he watched them pass chakra pills to each other. Making a note, he reported back to the clone Shadow about this, as his hands fell to his sides. A half second later, the red symbols would appear on his arms, and begin to glow with a blinding red light. "Saigo no sutoraiku: Bunshin Bakuhatsu!" the clone Lathasa would then vanish in a flash, before an outpouring of chakra and wind blasted across the field. the detonation was enough only to distract the opponent in a light show. However the cutting wind could cause them damage. The clone shadow appeared at his mark.

(actions of the originals, and remaining Shadow clone.) Shadow smiled lightly, as the detonation began. He would release the blade he held. It would plummet with suprising speed to the surface of the water. When it hit, it would stop, point in the water, a ringing filling the air. Suddenly, around the team of Eric, Raisan, Renna, and Makata a circle would appear white in color. In less than a second, that circle would shoot off a dozen lights, each connecting to another circle. From there it would extend again, until there was a full spider web of light surrounding the team. That hovered in the center of a pentagram.

Suddenly the clone Shadow would appear at one point of the pentagram. At the next one Lathasa would appear, then Kara, then Thorn. Finally, Shadow appeared at the point his blade had struck to activate the jutsu. Each of the team members would have their hands before them in a specific pattern. Their right hands were all vertical, the fore and middle finger extended towards the sky while the rest were curled. Their palms were facing towards their bodies. Their left hands were horizontal, palms facing away from their bodies. The middle and forefinger were extended, the rest curled in, pointing at the elbow of their right arms. Both their elbows were bent at ninety degree angles.

All the people on Shadow's squad remained thus, while Eric's squad was in the center of the formation. The white light would shoot upwards, and into the earth, creating a massive sphere. The circle that Eric's team stood within making the smallest, then the next circle slightly larger, and so on. the lines each continued to glow as the largest barrier was created in the form of a pentagram itself. This would extend underground, and into the sky. Finally it solidified completely, making a nearly impregnable barrier. The multilayer would make it exceedingly hard for someone to get in, or out. Shadow would smile. "Completed... Himitsu no ato! Saigo no shiare you : Pentasupaidabaria no jutsu!" This jutsu was one he himself had perfected for the use of the Kirigakure ANBU Black Ops. it was the greatest trap jutsu he had ever created.

Shadow would smile at the team within. Forming seals, he would place one hand on the point. Following Shadow's lead, she would place a hand on the point she stood before. She was happy to have been able to help pull off this spectacle of a jutsu. And it took under five second to be completely made. It was insane, and probably the best jutsu they could use as a team... It was amazing. And quite frankly, scary as hell. it took a lot of chakra from each person, and she had felt the drain. She had one chakra pill, like the whole of Shadow's team. If they didn't win with this, they would have to move on to another strategy, probably involving them eating the pills, and draining their chakra. Worst comes to worse, Shadow would do the direct assault plan.

She cringed, as she turned her attention back to the barrier. Lathasa reached up to place his hand on the barrier, huffing. Shadow would pull this one. He knew the plan, but that didn't mean he liked it. If the team didn't give up, or find a way out of this jutsu, they could very well end up dead. Not that Shadow, or any of this team would like to kill their opponents. This was merely for fun, and a competition after all... but still. This was hard enough. Thorn reached up to press her hand to the barrier. She knew her job. Should they not give up, and Shadow unleashed the seal, and attack that came with it, she would have to rush in to see if it was possible to help the other team after.

Shadow's clone touched the barrier at his point, merely awaiting orders. Shadow smiled, and spoke to Eric's team in a warm manner. "You should feel honored. This is the first time I have deemed to use this strategy in these exams. But now you have a choice to make. This seal has a very intricate attack, and destructive sealing power, thanks to my Hyuugan blood, as I'm sure you've guessed from my clone's using the Byakugan. You can either choose to forfeit now... or try and escape and take the attack. I can pretty much guarantee you will not make it out of this barrier unscathed... or at all for that matter. Being an ANBU technique... you can guess how powerful it is, after all. You have one minute to give your decision. If I don't hear the one I like, I will attack with full force."

Shadow examined the team within the seal. The whole barrier spanned over fifteen meters. It would be a stretch for them to break the barriers, and then escape the attack... Shadow wouldn't underestimate them... but even he felt that they would be hard pressed to escape it... if at all they could.

The serene scene ended quickly as one of the members of the group shot her head up. It was Renna. Renna, knowing that attack was imminent, recognized that it would take too long to verball alarm her teamates too soon to be attacker, (the clone). The sword dropping would be the least of her worries as she performs a set of handsigns, air suddenly beginning to surround the small group in the form of a sphere, futon chakra even churning the ground beneath them a foot or two. The soon to be barrier would begin taking on a blue aura, similar to the technique that Eric had been attempting to start earlier. Without further hesitation, the alert team began their own operations.

Eric made a quick decision, knowing that his team needed more time to be fully replenished on chakra, save for Makata, as she had hardly used any of her techniques and thus didn't need the time. He extended his own chakra to cause the barrier to form faster, it quickly forming an almost perfect blue sphere around the ground.
Raisan touched his palms to the ground, about prepared for doton, when Eric shouted, "Shadow!" Raisan switched initiatives and instead formed a single kata, the group, including the sphere, sank into the ground as lights suddenly began shining around their group. Far from where their opponents were likely looking, within the lake, nigh at the bottom, a single black kunai, which had been nearly blasted deeper into the earth, and then washed downward with many of the shuriken towards the bottom, gave off a slight tinge as a sphere of air suddenly appeared nigh directly overhead it.

Eric, the air "bubble" at this point being their shield, performed a kata, and the various shuriken at the bottom detonated, propelling the already less dense and moving upward bubble high yet faster; a portion of the lake would suddenly erupt with water, along with Eric's team. The futon "bubble" did not dissipate, however, and instead maneuvered towards what Renna and now Eric knew would be land, almost thirty whole meters from the shrine itself. As the team made a rough landing upon the ground, the opposing technique would be their guide as to where they had just came from, since it had quite the shining of lights. Once again on solid ground, the team quickly began retreating from the water, with their starting formation almost reversed.

Makata now was on point, as they merely backed away from the site rather than turned their whole backs, with the other three "behind" her. Eric frowned, as he knew that, although their enemy might be mildly surprised by what they did, by the time they landed, once again they would be on them, with the light of at least parts of their jutsu remaining. As team captain, he needed to find out a plan of attack, or counterattack more like it, that would work against these grim odds.(Kage Ido; Shadow Migration)

Immortal Guardian Shadowfire saw the bubble, and blinked as it vanished. With minimal chakra loss, he would end his contribution, causing the entire technique to collapse in upon itself. The clone, looked up, and pointed towards the lake. The byakugan still active, he had been easily able to track the chakra. Half a second later, the clone would vanish, returning the lost chakra (from the rain technique) to Shadowfire. With a signal, his entire team would appear atop the shrine, watching the bubble of energy, shadow would signal, creating a set of numbers on one hand with his fingers. As he did this, he would point forward. The silent communication was all it took. The fastest chuunin, Lathasa, was left for the main part.

Lathasa jumped forth, needing little prodding. He already expected the attack plan. He, utilizing a series of Shunshin, put himself relatively near where the team would land, though with nearly twelve and a half meters between him and the squad. Lathasa would activate two blood red symbols on his blade. Channeling his chakra, he would slash forward four times, aiming for the areas the team would land, and thus hopefully catch them off guard.

At the same time, Thorn would finally appear upon the lake before the floating ball, closer to the shrine. She would pull her hand back, and thrust her fist forth, sending a wave of green energy at the ball. But not truly at the ball, rather the water under it, and the land it was aimed for to land upon. As the wave struck, it would cause an indentation, and crater to form, just as the opponent's ball was releasing them to the ground. At the same time, it would cause a small wave of water to splash the opponents. This would be Lathasa's attack hit.

Shadow would appear behind the opponents as they were distracted by the other technique. The wave of water, though small, would be able to substantially wet the opponents. Shadow formed a set of seals, and gathered chakra upon his right palm. As he did, he forced the nature into Raiton, his second favorite type to use next to suiton. "Raiton: Raikiri..." However, rather then dash forward, he would instead smirk, and form a seal with his opposite hand. Swinging his arm above his head, he would coalesce more chakra, then swing his arm forward. "Raiju Hashiri no Jutsu."

Upon swinging his arm down, the raikiri would leap from his palm, and form into that of a wolf like creature, made completely of lightning. A small stream of raiton connected it to Shadow's palm, as it dashed forward towards the opposing team. If Lathasa separated the team effectively, he would target the closet to where he was, which would be directly opposite Thorn. If not, he would send it into the group to hit whomever it was possible.

Kara would appear near Shadow, though in the cover of trees. She wasn't as fast as the others, and only Lathasa matched Shadow's speed, though her job wasn't to directly engage the opponents, but rather use the earth, and her ability to sense those upon it, to track the opponents. This would allow her to relay information to Shadow and the rest of the squad. She leaned down to press her hand to the Earth and await further commands. She trusted the others would be able to do what they needed to, and the cover of her current position gave her a sufficient "hideout" from the opposing team's line of sight.

The speed of their opponents, capable of crossing the entire lake in such a short time, would be the first concern on the team's list; the energy slashes would be next. Eric could feel his chakra beginning to balance out, meaning he was in the clear to begin using stronger techniques, much the rest of his team probably feeling the same way. While he could easily block the energy attack with kenjutsu, if one of them was attacking, then it was probable the others were either preparing for a long term affair. Although he regretted the notion, they needed to get some serious distance from these guys. Naturally, this meant that they needed...

Makata could tell that Eric was in the midst of thinking... So she decided to direct the team. "Wind bullet!" Makata exclaimed, prompting Raisan to perform a set of handsigns. Prior to their landind, an earthen plateau would rise beneath, bringing the team to a stop prematurely. From There Makata would channel a set of raiton to her hand, then raise her hand towards the sky. A bolt of raiton would suddenly fire into the sky, quickly spreading through the clouds.

Renna, with the barrier particularly still under her visage, used her Futon abilities to raise them from the plateau, as to ensure that they wouldn't be countered... Again. As the enemy's attacks wracked the plateau, the raiton sending it crumbling to the ground. Their rapid descent would end with their landing upon the ground eight feet from Shadow. Thunder would begin to be heard in the skies above as a lightning storm slowly began forming above, Makata's chakra influencing it's creation.

Eric, by the time much of this was done, had thought of their next plan of attack.

Immortal Guardian Shadowfire 's lightning would follow the enemies, thus charging at their new landing position. However, Shadowfire himself would rotate, and form the necessary handseals for the next technique he wished to use. Whilst he did this, Lathasa cursed his missed attack, and pivoted on his heel. He caught sight of the charging lightning as he searched for the opponents. Following said beast's trajectory, he spotted the new landing zone of the opposing force.

Lathasa acted as quickly as he could. Swinging his blade down, Lathasa channeled chakra into the blade itself. twisting it so the the flat of the blade ran parallel to the ground, the blade would begin to glow red; directly following that action he would right the blade, so the edge was parallel, and the point was facing the opponents. He gripped his wrist, and released his chakra in a burst. However, unlike his other attacks, the blade reacted differently as a new symbol blazed at the center. The red chakra would become tangible, and seem to extend the blade into indefinite amounts, however Lathasa limited it to the distance between him, and five feet behind his opponents. The blade would launch forth with incredible velocity at the point where the opponents landed and the bubble of energy dispersed' it would effectively cover the distance in a matter of two seconds. Continually, the extended blade would vibrate at extreme speeds, increasing it's cutting and destructive potentials nearly fifteen-fold.

As Lathasa unleashed his blade, Thorn would dart off the water. Knowing she had little time to act, she positioned herself to the left of the opponents, drew back her arm, focused chakra into her fist, and slammed it forcefully into the ground. As she did this, the earth before her would seem to shatter spontaneously, creating cracks and odd chunks in the earth. The radiating damage would surge forth, hitting the ground under the opponents, and causing it to crumble in a twelve meter radius around them, effectively creating a crater to which the opponents would most likely fall into. This in no way would effect Lathasa's attack as it was part of the plan Shadow had initiated not too long ago.

Either way, Thorn would withdraw her hand from the ground, and hop back. Shunshining into the woods, she would meet up with Kara at it's edge. Thorn surveyed the area, and her team members. Some had a few cuts and bruises, and the chakra was draining in a steady amount. It was going to be dangerous. She hoped Shadow had his plan worked out to it's fullest extent. If they went on too much longer, they would have to use their chakra pills, and thus be out of their chakra 'trump cards' so to speak.

Thorn gauged the situation with a practiced eye, keyed her com, and spoke to Shadow. "if we're initiating plan Two-thirty-six now would be the best time. If we wait too much longer it could get dangerous. The rain, though it's not chakra draining, still gives us the advantage when it comes to the water style attacks you can employ. The lake also gives us an advantage. From what I can see, it is slowly draining into the Earth, and down the trails. The water will be gone in thirty minutes, so we have about that much time to either end this, or choose a more effective plan."

Shadow's voice would come back. "Let's see what damage we can do in that time. If the earth becomes waterlogged we'll have another fifteen minutes, give or take before the water drain away down the mountain trails. That will still leave us with the rain and the water in the earth. Let's get done what we can, and see if we can't end this battle now. I don't want to be here too much longer, and this team is good. Initiate the second phase of the plan now..." Thorn nodded.

Lathasa's attack would strike at the team, and with a deft move he would slash the blade to the left, causing the red chakra to gouge the earth and create a trench as it sliced at the opponents. He would release the attack, and then congregate next to Shadow.

Kara, after hearing Lathasa begin his attack, approached the edge of the forest with deliberate steps. The shaking, caused by Thorn's assault would cause her to give pause, and monitor the situation. Seconds later Thorn would appear by her side, as they gazed at the opponents. Thorn's and Shadow's interaction would give her enough time to draw up the plan in her mind, and figure out the best way to initiate her part of the actions. Checking her chakra amount, she gauged she had enough for this, and one other jutsu before she would be unduly forced to take the pill. She only hoped Shadow's plan would work.

Forming the necessary handseals, she would slam her palms into the ground, and mutter under her breath "Doton: Doryuheki..." A moment later, the Earth would tremor a bit, before a three sided, roofed box would grow from the earth, covering an approximate area of about fifty-two meters. The open side would face the lake, while the other three sides would block off the escape routes into the forest, or further along the newly create 'shore.' Kara paused for a moment after creating the jutsu to enclose the opponents. The earth underneath, about six feet below the crumbled and broken earth created by Thorn, would be specially reinforced to, hopefully' prevent escape underground once more. Exhaling slowly, Kara would launch herself to the top, or roof, or her three sided box, and close her eyes, monitoring the opponents.

Thorn would step back, and watch the box form, before she shunshined once more to the water's surface. There she waited outside the mouth, seemingly guarding the left corner of the open end. Lathasa would appear at precisely the same point as Thorn, however on the opposite side of the box, Guarding the right corner.

A moment later, Shadowfire appeared upon the shore, his white blade held in his hand. It was pointed in a forty-five degree slope, aimed at the ground. He held it loosely in his right hand as he smirked. "Suiton: Suiryudan no Jutsu." As he spoke, the water behind him would seem to boil, before a massive serpentine creature exploded from it's depths. It circled Shadow once, before launching into the three-sided box, and at the opponents. The creature, made of pure water, would only be the first step to Shadow's attack. As the dragon circled, he would form a handseal. Lightning would crackle upon his hands, and down his blade. He would point the blade at the dragon as it's tail whipped by, and in that instant, the lightning would charge off and impact the dragon.

The dragon, being made of water alone, would create the perfect conductor, intensifying the lightning attack, known as Raiton: Kangekiha, into a deadly assault. As soon as the dragon neared the opponents, it would rush at them, and upon impact, detonate. The resulting wave of water would crash forward, carrying with it the high powered lightning assault. The lightning would spread dangerously about, and if the attack connected with any of the opponents, it carried a lethal possibility.

When the attack is finished, Shadow would swing the white blade up in front of his face, seemingly in a defensive manner, and peer around it at his opponents. The white blade would gleam in the sunlight as the three members of Shadow's team, Shadow, Lathasa, and Thorn guarded the only exit from the box.

Kara keyed her com. "A good attack, but we have much to worry about. this is only phase two. Are we ready for three?" Shadow would key back, speaking while he watched his opponents. ="Yes, but we must be careful. Kara is nearly depleted of chakra, and Lathasa isn't far behind. Thorn you are relatively okay, considering you haven't used much of your chakra or major moves. I am pretty full on chakra as well since we never completed our barrier, and the clone did most of this. plus the rain rejuvenated me any spent chakra. If needs arise, I shall call it again, and distribute the chakra the rain does not use to the team. But let us hope we need not rely upon the opponents chakra to sustain us, eh?" Shadow chuckled. "We'll initiate phase three on my mark, so be prepared." The other three responded quickly. "SIR!"

"Change of plans!" Eric exclaimed with urgency, "Get ready to strike!" As the team descended, several things began almost simultaneously happen at once. Eric withdrew his blade and channelled chakra through it. Makata channelled ration chakra first through her body, then in coordination with the ration she had earlier shot into the sky. The lightning storm that had begun brewing earlier suddenly alit in the sky, announcing its response to Makata's earlier urging. While this was an unplanned change of venue, Eric redirecting the team was sensible, since he was such a key part to their wind bullet formation anyways. Trusting Eric's next move, Renna turned out the Futon barrier and began syncing with Makata.

The moment the team landed, Eric slammed his sword into the ground, a black barrier of sorts surrounding the team, full 360 degrees, including below the ground, at least a few feet from their now formed line. Eric in the face of the oncoming sword attack, as the suiton technique had yet to be sent against them, then behind him Makata and Renna side by side, forming a "bulge" in the line, and on the other side Raisan, his two hands upon the black barrier as the sword attack came.

The Blade of Shadows, as it was dubbed, suddenly rang slightly at the hilt as the sword seemingly struck the barrier. However, rather than either piercing through or hitting the actual barrier, ripples formed as it seemed the sword strike was in fact being absorbed into the barrier. What was really happening was that Eric's gate of shadows had been applied to the barrier, making the barrier a space-time ninjutsu barrier that transported the blade's tip and attack into the alternate dimension, where it would be cut off from its command and, if left unchecked, the energy from the attack would disperse and be Eric's to manipulate later.

As this was going on, Makata noted the fact that they were in a rather large crater, and that (Gate of Shadows, earlier attack) the area by this point was beginning to resemble the wetlands, just a bit. That worked for Makata, as the water would make this all the easier. With Renna as her "mind's eye", Makata located the quarry via their chakra signature. Raising her raiton sparked hands upwards, she silently declared, "I hope this at least works as planned." Makata then used her skybound Raiton to direct thick bolts of pure lightning towards each of her quarry. Renna, by connecting her conscious via chakra to Makata's, could in essence "share" the information gathered from her chakra sensing abilities, helping in guiding the bolts of lightning towards the ground.

Unlike the traditional Kirin, this technique's main purpose was to focus on striking areas at a time. In a dry environment, this technique's quantity would be much, much larger; however, with this wet environment, Makata could direct larger and thus more powerful bolts of lightning with the same ease as before, as long as she followed Lightning's rule of towards the ground. With all of the water, the issues of path of least resistance wasn't as big of an issue, and if their opponents tried to shunshin away, it would do them little good, as their movements would intimately be detected and adjust for. Also, since they each wore a sort of electronic device (Eric and his team are not fully aware of this) to communicate, it would be yet harder for their quarry to dodge the attack, which ran at the speed of natural lightning. (Kirin [Split and altered]) The power would almost be that of an ordinary Kirin, save for the fact that the Kirin's strength would be spread out over the distance Shadow's team would be at this point, although since they will strike at about the same time, then the overall force will be near the same.

Raisan, prior to all of this, had an important task; stabilize. Although Renna's technique's dispersion slowed the team's descent to the point where shock wasn't much of an issue, Raisan still had considered the slight problem that they might fall off balance. Just in case, as the lightning formed and the barrier was soon to be formed, Raisan used his shadows to soften and even balance the team upon the ground. (Kageyose no Jutsu; Shadow Engame Technique) Once that was done, he threw his hands upon the barrier, to help sustain and maintain it as both creating and changing the barrier to a large gate of shadows technique would probably take quite the concentration, eased if someone else took the other end of the barrier and sustained it.

Now Eric faced his next issue; the water dragon creature thing. He reasoned that the barrier would either take the creature into the alternate dimension, or, the more likely and hopeful of the two, be indirectly used in Makata's attack to increase the electrical potency of each lightning strike, presuming the one who summoned it still was connected to it in some way. Either way, he felt that at the very least, they could take a breath without worrying about being attacked... But that was wishful thinking, for he had a feeling that the opposing team, with their skill, would find some way to thwart their latest attempt to end the battle.

Immortal Guardian Shadowfire frowned at his failed team attack. Finding it rendered useless quite irritated him. However, a flash of chakra would grab his attention, as he looked skyward. Being a master of Raiton ninjutsu himself, he easily spotted the signs of a jutsu he had learned not three months ago. He cursed softly. "Damn it. They are using the kirin... Kara, Thorn. Converge with Lathasa... Now. Lathasa I need you to throw up a wind barrier defense.." "And you, sir?" Shadow smirked. "I'm going to split the lightning bolt..."

As Thorn heard the warning, her eyes flashed up, before She twisted, and 'flashed' herself to Lathasa's position. When she arrived, She grabbed Lathasa, and hopped to land. If they were caught on water, it would be far more dangerous to them. As they landed, She would release Lathasa to finish his seals. She would, as a first line of defense, drop her heel into the ground with enough force to crack, and launch chunks of the earth into the air. She would pivot and send a flurry of kicks at the descending chunks to send them high into the air.

Kara, having noticed the clouds during their last assault, noticed the lightning before the words even came over the com system. She had already begun preparing for the incoming lightning attack. She was probably one of the most prepared. With a deft flick, two small rods fell into her hands. As the order came, she would shunshin over to the other two, as they landed on the earth. She would swing up the two rods, and press the button at the hilt. A half-second later the rods would elongate into a long staff like weapon, though it was far to thin to be used as such. Instead, she would toss them to the sides of her. Each of them would strike the ground, point down, then stand straight up, as if they had a mind of their own. Pressing her hands together, she would focus her chakra, into the earth, and create two small pillars underneath the rods, and cause them to rise into the air about twelve meters total. The truth? The two thin rods were lightning rods, and each emitted a special chakra signal that would attract any and all electricity or lightning assaults to the rods. At that moment,

Lathasa would finish his seals. With a deft flick of his wrists, he would extend his hands out, and the wind would pick up around Lathasa and the two team members that congregated on his position. The wind would whip until it created a visible barrier about the team members that had congregated on his position. The wind would encircle around the team, lifting them slightly off the ground to hover a few feet before becoming a solid grey color as it swirled about them. This, of course, was the famed  Fuuton: Kaze Bariasufia that Lathasa himself had created, and perfected.

Not a second after the sphere was formed, the lightning bolts would strike. The earth in the air from Thorn would do little to slow the bolts down, however, the lightning rods would do their jobs to perfection, drawing two of the incoming bolts to them, and sending the lightning deep into the earth where it would disperse harmlessly as it was grounded. The last bolt would land a direct strike upon the wind barrier with enough force to cause the barrier to dip slightly. It would not be enough, however, to disrupt the wind. It was known that the wind was the weakness of lightning, and thus The technique was employed perfectly, causing the lightning to whip away harmlessly.

Shadow's voice would crackle over the com with a lot of static. "Pull back. Meet me at the coordinates previously deigned. Move!" Kara would be the one first to remember, then fill in the others. It was time to rethink the strategy, so She told Lathasa's who lowered the shield. The earth was scorched and torn by the lightning and wind, and as they touched, static sparked lightly against their footwear. A moment later, the lot of them turned and dashed off towards the surrounding forest, disappearing into the depths not long after.

At first light of the lightning, Shadow had warned the team, while sheathing his blade. When they had vanished, he had just enough time to do two things. First, he would form a string of handseals, ending by gripping his right wrist with his left hand. A that point, chakra would coalesce upon his palm, as well as focus into his eyes. Suddenly the chakra on his palm would shift, and release a high pitched chirp. Lightning would swirl about him violently, as it created a coating over his hand. A moment later, he would raise his head to the sky. His eyes would be different at the same time. No longer were they the bright vibrant gold that was the norm for Shadowfire. Instead they were a pale, listless, almost white gold. Around his eyes the veins were excessively prominent, webbing out from the corner of his eyes to vanish behind his jaw, and into his hairline. This was his Kekkei Genkai, which flowed with his Hyuugan Blood. "Byakugan!"

Shadow would straighten out, and swing back his arm, as he studied the chakra within the clouds. Just as it coalesced into four main points, Shadow crouched, and with a burst of chakra, launched himself high into the air. He met his lightning bolt head on, so to speak. As it came towards him, he had enough time to pinpoint the main chakra stream within the bolt, assess it's strength, and slam the Raikiri he had created into it. Shadow's Raikiri, whose chakra would be more intense, more focused, and containing a stronger electric field would literally splice the lightning in half, sending the two sides careening by him at the earth below.

Shadow also focused his chakra into a pointed strike to split the chakra controlling the attack. With this combined strike, he was able to literally split the technique in half. He would not escape unscathed, however, as electric burns would form on his arms, legs, and across his body. When the bolt was done, Shadow would flip end over end back towards the ground, before he laid his body parallel to the ground, swung his legs in an arc, brought them close, and spun his body at high velocity towards the ground. When he neared the ground close enough, he would unfurl, and complete his spin to land on the ground. Looking up, he would spot his opponents field, and, presuming it didn't block the sight of his dojutsu, the chakra circulatory networks of his opponents.

Noting what he could in a brief glance, he would backpedal, then shunshin multiple times until he reached the point his opponents were at, well out of range of the opposing team's sensory shinobi. As he appeared in the defensive zone his team set up, Thorn came forth forming a set of seals. A moment later, her hand would glow green as she focused healing the many electrical burns Shadow has sustained in his stunt.

"Report..." "Let's see, after the attack we all dashed to this point. That about sums it up." Kara's voice dripped with sarcasm as she gave the 'report' Shadow had requested. Shadow yawned softly. "Then nobody was hurt. Good. So here's what I picked up. Eric is a Shadow manipulation artist. The barrier he threw up seems to absorb any attacks thrown at it. I would say it would be a good guess to say it could suck up people as well. It doesn't seem as if the opponents can attack when this absorption technique is going, but if it is let down, they seem to be able to. Hence the split Kirin attack... Either way, they are congregated within that defense, so our best bet is to move on to our next plan."

Shadow pauses as Thorn finished her work and stepped back. Shadow would lean back against a tree as he thought. "They also seem to each have chakra pills, which they have taken of already. It is a safe bet to guess they have more. We need to be careful on our expenditures of chakra." Shadow nodded in agreement, as he tapped his chin. "They have a bit of chakra left from their last boost, but it seems Eric is the one doing most of the work for the opposing team. He is their leader, so it would make sense, but he is also blowing through chakra like crazy."

"Should we target him directly then, and knock him out of it?" Shadow paused at the idea, then sighed. "I'd rather we hit each of their team out at the same time..." Kara crouched to place her hands against the ground, presumably to monitor the opposing team. Shadow released his Byakugan after a moment as he passed off the monitoring duties to Kara. "Do you think we should use three-thirty-one then?" Shadow blinks, and quirks a brow at Kara.

It was an odd suggestion of a plan, and Lathasa seemed to have the same ideas. "But that would mean we'd...." He trailed off as he thought about it, and turned to shadow. "It could work." Shadow was nodding, as was Thorn. "it may work, granted we follow it precisely. I'll need to call the rain again, and use the lake. But yes. it should work fine."

The team nodded, and Shadow turned to finish preparations, as Kara kept tabs on the opposing team. She would give them warning when it was time to move.

While much of the team had been anticipating the end of the battle, the team jounin had other thoughts, and already was beginning to formulate the needed position. He by now had figured that his opponents were, as expected, well versed in the arts of Suiton and, based on that watery-raiton dragon, Raiton too. Doton seemed to also be an art in their arsenal. So far the only thing he lacked a surprising absence in was the use of Futon.

Makata, still under Renna's guidance, surged her raiton chakra into the ground, this time redirecting the efforts of the dispersing lightning within the ground. Eric opened a single gap within the barrier, a gap just large enough for Makata to go through. Renna stopped her guidance of Makata just long enough for her to nearly vanish, sparks following after her. Within seconds, Makata had already bypassed the crumbling earthen walls, greatly weakened by the thunder that followed the technique and finished by her electrified shunshin. She stopped promptly at a point where the path seemed to nearly fade, probably almost washed away by the torrential rains. However, this far from the lake and far from the view range of the gate, even by a trained  byakugan user.

Makata's movements would only be obvious at the point where the earthen walls first shattered, the remaining walls crumbling and falling in, as the raiton still travelling through the ground would disrupt any earthen-based techniques. As Makata reached her destination, relatively dry considering all that had happened, she performed a set of handsigns. The boom from the thunder would have been practically deafening, but the second Makata had left the barrier Eric closed it back, reducing greatly the damage anyone would have taken from the thunder.

The enemy team would probably be subjected to this, as when Shadow split the technique he merely sent it towards the ground, where it would still cause considerable and noteable damage to the ground. Since the lightning would have went around him, then it would be likely that the resulting thunder would deafen him almost entirely, particularly if he had sensitive hearing. His teamates, who were farther from the impact zone, would likely not be as affected. As Makata finished her handsigns, the enemy team would be shunshining away from their location of retreat, where Makata's teamates would suddenly appear in a poof in a triangle around her.

The barrier technique had been let down, and Eric had sheathed his sword again. (Kuchiyose Idō; Summoned Migration). At this point, the teams would be at such a distance from each other that it would take time for either team to detect each other again. "Status report?" Eric inquires, panting, "Raisan, you know what I'm about to request." While he had not expended all of his chakra, he knew that he would need another burst for the remaining plan to come to fruition.

"I think a recap is much more valuable at this point," Renna intervened, "first off, we started with a combination technique that the enemy managed to actually deflect; before long, a chain of events occurred that brought the enemy to using their chakra draining rain, which really screwed us over for awhile. After tunneling and going through various causes, we eventually were almost trapped inside a barrier technique. We managed to escape using your Space-Time ninjutsu. In our attempt to make landfall, our enemies attacked and made things complicated. We managed to make landfall, only to be further attacked; your barrier and jutsu was the only reason we didn't sustain any serious injuries from the attacks. Finally, we launched a combined kirin attack that, according to the detection I had prior to us getting out of that crater, our enemy was headed towards the forest. My bet is that they were injured..."

"If they were injured like we wanted them to be injured, they wouldn't be going anywhere now would they?" Eric commented, taking the second to last chakra pill from Raisan. "That is a valid point, but you have to remember that there are four of them. If even two or one of them have been seriously injured to the point that their abilities have been hindered, then they would logically fall back and attempt to remedy the situation. They are Mist ninja, not gods." "That's funny ," Makata mockingly laughed "I thought they were monsters from the deep out to get Jounin Eric!"

Everyone except Eric laughed at the joke, Eric not finding the comment amusing. "For you're information, I'd like to discuss our plan and how we're going to finally win this or bust." "What do you mean by bust?" "What I mean is, we either win with this technique, or we get out of here. It's considered forfeiting, I know, but I'd rather take three chunin back with me instead of two... Or one... Or none." "Thanks Master, I'm glad we're the ones who had to get whacked off..." "Don't take it that away! What's the plan?"

Eric would begin discussing the plan with them, being mindful to include possibilities of enemy counters based on what they had already encountered and what they already knew, which would cover a wide range. The circle would be made in the fashion that they would be able to collectively see every part of the circle and its surroundings, meaning that there would be no "blind" spot area as far as view range.

Thorn darted from team member to team member repairing any damage they had sustained thus far in the battle. Her knowledge in Medical ninjutsu was hidden from the opposing team for a purpose. Shadow would rather they not target her for the moment. Either way, she would finish repairing the remaining damage to Shadow, before she turned, and sat on a downed tree. Not far beyond the fields of trees the water was visible, swallowing most of the forest closest to them. She knew the plan Shadow had chosen, and really had no worries or questions about her part. Kara frowned at her dwindling chakra supply. The electricity in the earth made her tracking 'fuzzy' but she was able to pinpoint where the opponents were located. It was enough for her report to Shadow, as he understood. However she found the lightning to be a great nuisance. It also interfered with any major jutsu she wished to do. It might however offer her an advantage and help power up her attacks in the earth, should she be able to figure out the right ones, and the best earth. Either way, she knew she needed to take her chakra pill. She reached into her pouch and pulled out the pill to pop it into her mouth, then crunch it. As she waited for it to take effect, she turned her attention to Shadow.

Shadow yawned, as he looked to Lathasa. "Why don't you give us a sit-rep?" Lathasa would nod slowly as he composed his response. "Okay. So far we know they have fire, lightning, earth, wind, and shadow manipulation. It can be a safe bet they know most, if not all of our `chakra affinities as well. Well, except yours, Shadow. You have a 'trump card' so to speak. I can't guess if they know of your Kekkei Genkai yet, sir, but it would be a safer bet to say yes. They have a near perfect defense with that Shadow jutsu, but I am betting it takes a lot of chakra to maintain. Of us, Thorn healed all injuries, and Kara is the only one to have taken a chakra pill. I don't think we are going to require the rest of them for a bit. It is also safe to say the other team is ready, and have a plan of action, since we've given them enough time because of their attack." Lathasa stands there, and fiddles with his sword.

They were ready for their plan, but awaiting Shadow's orders. This would be a complicated plan, and it required precision. He knew they could pull it off. They did before in their last battle. They were ready for it... But he wondered if it would be enough. They were all weary of this exam, and they merely wanted their jounin status endowed upon them. However, if they got careless, it would spell disaster. Shadow sighed as he mulled over the last part of the information. He needed just a moment to rest, as did his team, so he was giving it to them before he initiated the next assault.
Finally her pill would take effect, and Kara would rise up to stand straight. Cracking her knuckles, she would prepare herself, then bounce on her heels. "is everyone ready? If we wait too much longer, it will be invitation for them to attack us..." Thorn bit her lip, and rose from her position to hover beside Kara. She would reach out to place her hand on the female and close her eyes to bring her thoughts back to focus. It was time to go. After the short preparation, She nodded. "Ready." Lathasa twirled his blade around, then sheathed it, before rising to stand with the others. "I was born ready." Shadow rolled his eyes at the total cliche. He would reach up and click the com system once, sending a burst out to the others. It was the signal. Absolute silence.

Kara smiled, then formed the seals for her jutsu A moment later she would be utterly encased in Earth. This, of course, was her favorite jutsu to do. It was the Doton no Yoroi. This would offer her a decent amount of protection. The earth that encased her for about a half inch was enhanced, and thus more powerful then the overlaying half inch of earth that was encasing that. Kara smirked as her suit took on the physical likeness of Shadow. "How do I look?" Shadow laughs softly, as he fixes his shirt. "Why Kara. You look utterly handsome. What did you do?"His team laughs softly, before they all finish preparations. At a sign from Shadow, the team would scatter.

Lathasa ran the same direction as Thorn forming the seal to create a clone of himself. The water would coalesce into a second Lathasa would continue on over the water, coming into the visible spectrum of the opponents. Since none of them contained the Sharingan, or Byakugan, this would appear to be the real Lathasa, as the original positioned himself in the forest at the edge where, presumably, he would be out of 'sight' and the range of the opposing team's sensory nin. He would remain stoic as the clone slid to a stop directly in front of Eric, though with more than twenty-eight meters between the two. The clone would begin to throw forth a variety of shuriken and Kunai, aimed only for Eric.

Thorn, following the same idea as Lathasa, had created a clone near the beginning of the trek. She would reach her position, and slide to a halt, before climbing to a predetermined position in the tree. Her clone would continue on to come to the direct opposite side of Lathasa. The clone would rain down dozens upon dozens of Senbon. Of course, these two attacks were merely meant to distract this team. Shadow, using the distraction of the two clones, would appear high above the opponents, directly over their head. Presuming none of them were paying attention to this point, he would go unnoticed. More than that, the two clones would hopefully grab their attention and hold it for a minute. It would also be presumed that the sensory wasn't monitoring the air, for what purpose was there? Either way, Shadow, holding the tiger seal before him, would inhale, then mold the chakra to exhale a heavy mist.

The mist, nearly invisible, would settle in the air above the opposing team. Not half a second after Shadow finished that, He was already finishing the seals for the next jutsu. Reaching the zenith of his initial vertical Shunshin, he would form a ring with his forefinger and thumb before exhaling a stream of chakra. That stream would immediately burst into flames, and form a large ball of fire. The ball of fire, known as the Katon: Gokakyuu no Jutsu, Would descend at the opponents with a rapid pace. The heat would obviously make the opposing team notice, but by then it would be too late as the ball would hit the mist surrounding the opponents. This wasn't regular mist, however, as it was highly flammable. it was the Katon: Kasumi Enbu no Jutsu.

The moment the two techniques collided, a massive explosion would fill the air up to thirteen meters around the point the opponents were in. The heat, and flames would be intense, and enough to cause exponential damage tot he opposing team. Just before the explosion, Kara would take her spot across from one of the opponents. However, she would appear to be Shadowfire due to her using the Doton no Yoroi and altering her outward appearance with it. She would block the exit that would allow any other escape except directly into the forest. Shadow's visage would be guarded by the explosion. He would descend back to the ground, and land safely in the forest at the predestined location.

He would turn, completing the point of the formation. He, now ready, waited for the signal to come from his team members, as he watched the opposing team.

Nara Eric nodded, saying to his team, "Alright, time for rising phoenix. You all know your parts!" Every member of the team nodded, then spaced out slightly. Makata once again began channeling raiton chakra, using some of the remaining electrical energy in the ground near her to built a ring of electricity around her.

Meanwhile, Raisan performed a set of handsigns, then slammed his palms onto the ground. "Doton: Doryūheki; Earth Release: Earth Style Wall!" Suddenly from the ground emerged a large earthen set of walls, four in all, formed into the shape of a perfect square. The wall resembled that of man-made fortress walls, save for the four spires at each corner. The walls extended almost to where the previous earthen wall technique had been, a twenty meter distance each wall was from the center. Basically, a 20 x 20 meter square with an area of 400 meters squared within. The walls rose to a near towering eleven feet, their thickness practically three feet. It would become blatantly obvious that these walls were meant for more than a temporary defense.

Renna sensed the ascending foe and the various tools that had been heading their way, blocked by the sudden rising of the walls. "We have an enemy target moving into the air..." Renna said in a worrisome tone. Eric clasped his hands together, spacing out his feet, and began gathering the wind around him. "Makata!" "On it Cap," Makata reported as she sighted the ascending ninja.
Projecting that he would soon enough try to attack, she channeled the remaining electricity from the lightning towards her ring, and as the shinobi got directly overhead them, Makata aimed with a single arm towards their quarry with her right arm (Correction from previous post) and declared, "Firing." Within seconds a powerful stream of electricity would go from the circle around her, to her right fist, to a striking burst into the sky in the shape of two thunderbolts, firing into the sky, to reach Shadow within four seconds. However, at the point that she had fired the technique, Shadow had begun expounding the flammable gas. (Raiton: Gian; Lightning Release: False Darkness).

Upon the two techniques colliding, a great explosion would break out, more likely than not travelling up the stream and badly damaging Shadow. However, even if that wasn't the case, the shinobi was in the air, making it much more difficult for him to dodge the explosion, which would most likely completely engulf him.

Eric, as the explosion sounded, grimaced, "So they have Katon too... That's going to make things complicated." After all, he knew what raiton and the mist blaze style interactions tended to result in. With an enemy above them, possibly injured, he knew that they needed to most likely speed up the process a tad bit. A cloak of blue was beginning to surround him.

In the occasion that their enemy had gotten into their head that they could continue to attack them from above, Renna performed a set of handsigns and exhaled a powerful gust of wind upwards, momentarily breaking her chakra extension used in her sensing. (Fūton: Kamikaze; Wind Release: Divine Wind) to sent a giant wave of slicing wave upwards towards the explosion zone. The cutting wind would decimate any caught into it, and would better even prevent any ninja tools from reaching their direct vicinity of an area 5x5 with them the center.

Eric, seeing the wind style go into the air, did not want to lose it, so would begin extending his own chakra outwards to soon incorporate the wind technique into his arsenal if it was either unneeded or added to. The second the technique was released from her gullet, she would resume her sensing duties vigilantly.

As the wind release was released, Raisan stood up, having taken the moments to regain his composure after the large earth style that he had done to notice that the walls had indeed created a sort of shadow zone within the square they were in, the sun's rays by this point evident to all within the zone, as the Kirin earlier had dissipated the earlier clouds. After this observation he would resume his previous position on the ground, keeping his hold on the earthen barrier in case it needed extension or advancements. The earthen walls would surround the team prior to your kunoichi getting there, meaning she is outside the earthen wall.

Thorn cursed at the sight of the wall rising. It would make things harder for the team to finish their attack system. It would mean she, or so she thought, had to push up the plans a bit. Not that she was wrong. It was true. This little setback would cost them some time, and might force them to change tactics. However, she had an idea. Knowing they had a sensory nin, she decided to play 'dirty' so to speak. The sensory nin would be able to sense chakra, but she would be unable, or so Thorn assumed, to tell which were clones, and which were not. Forming the set of seals, Thorn created three more clones. The three clones would dash from the forest to meet up with the other clone. The four of them, together, would begin to rush towards the wall. Unbeknownst to them, the lightning would be shot. Just as they reached five meters of the wall, the wind would begin to be expelled. The four clones would separate, and each Shunshin to one side of the box. They, of course, would have no knowledge of the fact the Sensory Nin's attack would divert her attention, and thus, they would only take advantage by luck.

At about the same moment the sensory shinobi would regain her abilities, the four Thorns would strike the walls with their chakra fists. They would force their chakra into the wall after they made contact with their fists, and then cause it to 'detonate' in a way that would crack the wall and send the shards and broken blocks flying inwards towards the opposing team from all four directions. A moment after that, if the technique worked, they would vanish. If not, they would release themselves, and the chakra would return to Thorn... or what was left of it.

Meanwhile, ~

Lathasa dropped down into a crouch to examine the wall. The wall would offer some protection, but he was much more worried about what the team within would be doing. His fears would come to fruition a moment later when the attacks were released into the air at Shadowfire. His eyes snapped up to look at his team leader. A flash of white chakra would be all he could see, but he hoped to high heaven his boss would be fine. His eyes dropped back down to the wall as Thorn's attack struck. Taking advantage of that, he would target one area of the wall, and that beyond it. Using an attack he saw not a moment ago, he would form the seals, and let his chakra surge. Inhaling, he would build up, and as he exhaled, release a massive blast of cutting wind. This was the Futon: Kamikaze technique. The wind would surge forth for the targeted zone. If the wall would fall in the area, even for a second, the attack would blast through at the opponents. If not, it would target the wall with the brunt of it's force to rip open a hole for a smaller, less destructive wind to whip through and possibly hit one of the opposing team with it's cutting power.

Regardless of the outcome of that attack, Lathasa's clone would draw its sword, and jump into the air. Using the correct symbol, he would focus his chakra into a dense wave> With a sweep from left to right, the blade would ring an octave below human hearing. As it did this, a small, but excessively powerful wave would blast off in a rather wide wave at the opponents position. Them being trapped within their own barrier would make it improbable that they could escape without harm. This attack would come before Thorn's, and the original Lathasa's, Which also means it would come about the time the Gian was released. The attack, being pure chakra based, would cut through almost any substance. It also vibrated at a specific octave so that when it struck, it would detonate into a massive spherical explosion of chakra. If it struck an opponent, it could cause a rather large amount of damage.

Kara, at the creation of the earth wall and whilst still in the guise of Shadow, due to her Doton no Yoroi, would slide backwards. She was the closest, and thus the rumbling would knock her off balance. In a show of reflex, she would kick herself off the ground, and throw herself into a few flips. When she finished the last, Kara would slide to a stop with her legs shoulder width apart and her left hand dragging on the ground. the result would be a dust cloud obscuring her position. She would take advantage of the cover to back into the forest. Once out of eyesight of her opponents, she would drop down under brush cover to touch the earth. This time, however, she was not so focused on her opponents, as she was to locate the previously laid chains and wires.

Finding them, she would make a note of their locations, and then rise to hop into the trees. She knew not being connected to the earth would cut her off from her main power source, but she knew exactly what was planned by Shadow... So it would be best for her not to be there at the moment.

Shadowfire was aghast at his being spotted. He had thought himself to be out of range when he launched himself into the air, and the fact that the opponent could sense his vicinity from the distance was astounding. At least that meant there was something to be said about strength of perception. As the Gian came into contact with his attack, he had already released the chakra flow, and instead redirected it. His eyes would shift once more, becoming the pale, listless, almost white gold. The veins about his eyes would become much more prominent and web out from the corner of his eyes.

With less than four seconds to react, Shadow would pivot in the air and expel chakra from all three-hundred-sixty-one tenketsu within his body. A sphere of pure white chakra would surround him the moment the explosion reached him. He would continue to spin as the fire and wind blasted him up at an angle away from the opposing group. The technique, obviously had to be the famed Hyuuga defense, the Kaiten. The kaiten would effectively divert the attacks about Shadow and take all the damage. However, the result would be Shadow being blasted away. He would break the spinning as his body exited the blast zone, and he would cross his arms.

Touching the wrist-guards that held the summoning symbols. As he descended, he would whip his arms in seemingly random directions. Finally, he would pull taut the wires that he had released on a multitude of Kunai, and he would stop six meters before he impacted the ground. He would take just a moment to examine the battlefield. His team was seemingly scattered, but in their correct positions. He was the only one whose position was compromised far too early. He knew he would need to make up for that. Either way... He was the many jutsu being traded, and the chakra being expelled. With a bit of focus, he located the opposing team's circulatory networks.

He picked out Eric from the others, just for a moment, so he could examine the opposing team leader. "Tch. Figures. I'll probably have to fight him direct on to finish this..." He would huff in a rather indignant tone before he released the wires to drop lithely to the ground. Moving with unnatural grace, something he was known for, he would seem to dance through the woods, heading north. His team being under the cover of the trees, it would make his next technique less effective on them... So Shadow took advantage of the situation to form seals as he darted about. "Suiton: Chakra Hakai Ame."

Reactivation his destruction rain technique was the first step to the plan he hoped would end the battle easily enough. After a few moments, and the initial burst of chakra, the rain would begin pouring down once more, except this time harder than before. The drops would drain a bit of chakra per each that touched all but Shadowfire.

Kara, seeing the rain fall, dropped back into her sheltered cove, hoping the rain would be enough to weaken their opponents a good amount. Otherwise, it would be another flush out session. She sighed, and settled down, brushing off the few drops that did touch her.

Lathasa pressed himself closer to the tree to escape the drops that were falling through the spaces in the leaves. He had weaved the branches together to create a better shelter, but it was still far from infallible.

Thorn yawned, as if bored, as the rain fall. She stuck out her tongue to catch a couple drops, before falling back into her spot. She let out a sigh. She knew the rain was necessary, but she was in no mood to deal with the rain at this moment. Hunkering down, she rubbed her hands together to banish the chill from her fingers. It would soon be night if the battle raged on ever longer, and she was not looking forward to fighting during the nighttime. Either way, she had her purpose set and knew what to do.

Shadow stopped at his position in the small field. He knew that his technique would cause problems, but it was needed. He fixed his hair, as the rain fell ineffectually against him. Tapping a rythym against his leg, he would monitor his team and his opponent's circulatory networks. So far everything  seemed to be going according to plan... But it was to be decided by the opponents if this would pass or fail. His team was ready, he was ready. All that remained was fate.

Nara Eric began gathering the remnents of the Renna's wind style, as only the frontal burst was really needed. His technique now formed a blue dragon of sorts, the shape distorted largely due to his own preference. Within little time, the three were suddenly sinking into the ground underneath a conjoined shadow. They didn't want to be around for what was next. (Gate of Shadows). With Raisan having teleported his allies, temporarily at least, to safety, Eric prepared to ascend, expelling a small amount of a flammable gas, similar to the one used against them ealier.

His wind dragon-cloak wavered slightly as he did this, the gas becoming add-ons to the outer portion of the Futon "armor". It was at this time that he noticed the attacks barraging at the earthen walls. The jounin realized that that was going to require him to change his plans, since after all he couldn't lose placement of that sword, or worse have it knocked into the water. So, with an idea in mind, the shinobi changed the plans. The enemy would probably just dodge the superheated fireball air bullets anyways... Oh well, save that for another day! The shinobi gathered the dilutted air once more, this time a few inches from his person.
An addition of Katon chakra, and before long the entire technique was ablaze in blue fire, practically enshrouding the shinobi. Now that this had been accomplished, the shinobi released the technique outward in a gigantic heat wave. The wave would spread quickly outwards, the firestorm leaving the epicenter with rapid speed. The wind-fire storm technique would practically explode out, covering an impressive dome-like radius. The fire would consume the air that it came by increasing its already impressive temperatures as it also used the Futon as fuel.

The blue flame would reduce nigh everything, to ashes, the techniques(Both Eric's and opposing team's) crumbling the earthen wall from ealier and sending the crumbled complilation outward along with it. Water would evaporate within seconds of being near the technique, and the ground three feet underneath would be scorched and torn. At the explosion impact zone, where the chakra wave had been, the depth at which the technique touched would be near six feet. The explosion would be added into the wave, as it spread throughout the battlefield, reaching well over half the lake in circumference and nearly as high as where the techniques from earlier had clashed within the area of the earthen walls. The sound from the technique would be much like a bird's screech mixed with the many sounds of clashing kunai. Essentially, to someone capable of seeing the technique from outside the boundaries of the explored battle or from the outer edge of the forest, it would appear as if a large explosion had occured, with a wave of cutting energy and flames being the shockwave and the lack of a mushroom cloud easing nuclear conscious minds. The cutting wind, along with the fire, would extend outward greatly, weakening once it got as far as the half-lake mark in circumference.

Meanwhile in the epicenter, the ground was churned, the only clear space being the one Eric was at. That would explain why Eric had his team temporarily leave the battlefield via the gate of shadows earlier. Eric would kneel, panting heavily. He was just about to smile when suddenly a piercing pain struck him on the neck. "Damn that chakra rain..."Eric grimaced. His sword was practically wrapped around his legs at this point; he didn't want Renna or Raisan... He couldn't remember for the second... To bring everyone back between his legs. Or in to this rain. He continued to pant as he looked at the devestated battlfield, the chakra rain's start far from music to his ears.

He had outdone himself, with the speed of the technique, augumented by his propelling of it with Futon, would have certainly overran his vaccum spheres, which were just below the speed of a non-sniper bullet, would have made it near impossible for the enemy team to merely outrun it. The heat and cutting power of the wind should have churned the ground to the point where anyone relatively close to the earthen walls would have had not near enough time time burrow before being reduced to nothingness. In short, he didn't expect anyone attacking the wall physically to even know what hit them. Suddenly Eric grimaces as he gets back to his feet. The chakra rain was pouring harder... And he was already weakened from the massive attack. It was probably a mistake making the technique go faster with Futon expulsion, but at the very least his opponents would be hard pressed to dodge the attack.

He chuckled, whispering, "Now to summon the team back." He would place his right hand over his sword's hilt in preparation to give the signal to return...

[Kara] Let out a fierce shout as she saw the explosion. It was far too close to her position. Her doton no Yoroi would offer protection, but not enough. She needed much more distance. and that distance she would be hard pressed to reach. She would spin about on her heel, and with a deft flick of chakra into her legs, she sped off. She would not, however, make it far enough. As she reached the edge of the firestorms power, it would strike her back, sending her flying. She would let out a scream of utter torment as the flames gouged her body.

"Kara!" Shadow would shout as her intercom registered the damage and her scream. Too far away to really assist, he would find Thorn's position, and key her, telling her to move to Kara with the utmost haste.

Thorn obeyed. Her own clones would be obliterated within seconds of the detonation, but Lathasa, Shadow, and herself were out of the blast radius. Kara was the only one who would be hurt. Focusing on her job, she would reach Kara, grab her, and drag her from the damaged zone, towards Lathasa's position. When she got there, she would duck down, and form a complex set of seals. Kara's breathing was ragged, as the burns covered ninety percent of her back. But more than that, the damage was made even more substantial because of the winds that increased the power. If she hadn't had her Doton no Yoroi on at this point, She would no longer be a part of this world. Thorn grimly touched her hands, which were now aglow with a deep green aura, to Kara's back. Injecting her chakra, she would spend the time healing the wounds, however the damage would be done. Kara, weak, would only be able to sit for the time being, as Thorn finished.

Lathasa, uncharacteristically let out a curse as he saw Thorn and Kara appear. The damage done to Kara made him want to choke, however, he turned his attention to Shadow. "Sir, what do we do now? None of us were hurt but Kara, and such damage will put her all but out of this fight." Lathasa remained standing with his sword ready as he awaited Shadow's reply. They were safe from the oncoming downpour under the shelter he had hastily constructed earlier, as only a few drops fell through to hit the ground about them.

Shadow, after issuing his command to Thorn remained stoic. He had to think. His eyes examined the field with a practiced eye, and spotted only one of the opposing team's chakra networks. It was severly weakened. Shadow's brow furrowed. Then he realized. The massive technique was far too much for a chuunin to expel, so their Jounin must have been the one to attack. And, in order to protect his team, he would have had to send them somewhere  within an instant. Perhaps even into another dimension. Which would mean for just a moment, he would be alone.

Shadow decided he had to take advantage of this. If he could strike the opposing teams captain out of the match in one blow, before he resummoned his team mates, they would win without any other team members being hurt. Kara was already out, which threw out plans that involved earth. Shadow, within the course of a few seconds, crouched, and in an explosive burst of chakra expelled from his feet, sent himself flying nearly thirty-six meters in the air. The dust from the flame technique Eric just used, and the smoke from the fires, along with the pouring rain of his own technique would provide near perfect cover, blocking him from the sights of his opponents, and his own team. He would pull back his hand, and gather chakra upon his palm. With a high speed palm thrust, he would send forth a "vacuum shell" aimed directly for Eric's abdomen, at excessively high speeds.

This, without a doubt, had to be the Hakke Kūshō. The shell would travel at the high speeds through the rain, straight at Eric. The only indication of the attack would be the slight parting of the water, and perhaps a "splishing" sound as some of the drops were blasted out of the way. This, presumably, would only be noticeable to Eric at close range, which would make it excessively harder for him to see the attack coming and dodge it. Furthermore, Shadow shot the attack from above, and to the right side of Eric. This would, invariably increase the probability that Eric would not notice the attack until it had already struck him, or was too late to dodge completely.

The attack would act much like the gentle fist. It would knock the opponent off their feet, as well as strike and lock the tenketsu of the opponent in the targeted area. Immediately after the attack was launched, Shadow would fall back to the Earth, landing first on a tree, then hopping to the ground to monitor the opponents while he spoke to Kara, Thorn, and Lathasa. "Kara. I'm sorry you got hurt. you may rest for now.... Find a place, and stay out of sight.... Lathasa, Thorn. We have lost a member of our team. I will not stand to let anyone get away with hurting a member of my team, nor will I allow you two to get hurt as well. I want you to converge to my position. I have a simple plan... but a very destructive one..."

Thorn, after hearing Shadow, looked to Latahasa. her com off, she spoke to him quietly. "His tone... He's not playing games anymore.... Do you think...?" "It's not like that time, Thorn... Let's move." Thorn nodded, and followed Lathasa towards Shadow's position. Once they arrived, Shadow turned to them.

"Lathasa. I need your wind... I want a kamikaze, now... Thorn. I suggest your step back." Thorn Complied, stepping into the trees opposite the way Lathasa was aiming the technique. Lathasa, following Shadow's direction, Formed the necessary seals. Expelling the massive amount of chakra, he created a massive tornado of wind. "Fūton: Kamikaze!"

The massive tornado would surge towards Eric's position, and move from Shadow about twenty feet,  before Shadow began his part. Forming the necessary set of seals, He would inhale, and expel chakra from his throat. It would ignite into a massive stream. This technique was the Katon: Hibashiri Technique. It would strike Lathasa's tornado with a force to push it a bit forward. At precisely that moment, however, it would catch the wind on fire, and cause a massive flaming tornado to rip the ground up, and head towards the opponents. It would reach the opponent's position within a few seconds, though the rain would begin sapping chakra from the technique almost immediate after it's creation. However, it would still be a massive, and powerful technique as it reached the opponents position.

Lathasa panted from expelling most of his remaining chakra. He would reach into his pouch and pull out a pill, popping it into his mouth. Crunching it, he would wait for the chakra restoration effects to take hold, As Shadow watched the surging technique's and the opponents  with an emotionless face. Lathasa Shivered at the sight. it wasn't often Shadow turned like this, and in truth? It scared the hell out of him. He preferred the fun loving, rather relaxed leader. However this happened when Shadow's team got hurt. He didn't stand for it.

Kara, finiding a hiding spot, eased herself onto the ground. Though the burns were healed, and the damage and pain reduced, she still couldn't do much. She never suspected that the opponents would use such a technique. She was lucky she was alive at this point in time. She would be eternally grateful to Thorn's healing skills. Thorn watched Shadow with apprehension. She, though she loved her leader in a platonic way, was scared when he turned this serious. It meant that play time was over, and he was going to be fighting with everything he had. Every scrap of power, ever tiny bit of knowledge. And considering his rather extensive age, he had quite a bit at his disposal for knowledge. She could only hope it would be okay, and he wouldn't go too far this time.

Shadow watched the flames with a thoughtful expression. Eric, he presumed, would be the one that this would most threaten. However, he knew that he was also down one team member. Lathasa had taken his chakra pill, and Shadow was running low and would have to take his soon as well. Thorn, surprisingly, still had more chakra at her disposal than what would be thought. However, that could be expected since she hasn't done much. Shadow watched the sheeting Chakra Destruction rain, and his opponent's chakra circulatory network with a thoughtful expression, trying to think of a way to pull a victory out of this seemingly hopeless situation.

Nara Eric would channel a tidbit of chakra into the Blade. Less than a second later, a response in the form of the remainder of his team appearing in a triangle around him. Renna immediately returned to her sensing duties after fully emerging. With a touch of anger, Raisan performed a few handsigns, then slammed his palms upon the ground, an earthen roof held up by four pillars emerging from the ground beneath them, covering and concealing them from the chakra rain. Becuase Raisan used strictly the earth already within the ground, the chakra draining rain would have little effect on the covering, minor as it was. It wasn't much, but he reasoned that the last thing they needed was to be completely exposed to the rain.

With a hopeful expression, Makata dared to ask, "Alright Renna... What's it look like out there?" "Desolate..." Renna started with a glimmer of hope in her voice, "I think we may have... Not beaten them." The group was about to groan when Renna shouted, "Incoming!" Renna had forgotten, in her rush, to specifiy who was in danger of what and where; so the entire team assumed that the earthen shelter was the target and ducked from it, save for Renna, once again.

The Blade of shadows resonated as the ground around it suddenly became churned, as if an invisible wave of chakra had come at it. Swiftly returning to their shelter upon seeing Renna calmly standing there, the group prepared to discuss a counter when a frantic Renna quickly began performing handsigns. She had detected the wind tornado. The next thing to assume was that fire and then maybe Raiton would be added; either way, Renna knew that they had little time to react to such a threat. She would exhale her own gust of wind; however, the spiralling wind would, much rather, begin taking up the rain, the motion of the wind naturally spinning the technique. Since the rain absorbed chakra and such, the accumulation of it within the rapidly forming tornado, the watery tornado would rapidly lose speed. However, what it lacked in speed it made up for in effeciency, as the water would not only counter-act the flames, the chakra absorbing nature of it would sap the Futon reducing the wind-enhanced flames to ordinary flames that, with the excessive rain and water, would be cancelled out.

The steam opened up a rare opportunity. Despite the fact that it would threaten their ability to escape, Makata knew that she needed to take advantage of this moment. Knowing Eric would protest later, Makata rushed forward and, at the edge of their cover, streamed electricty through the ground [Earlier wind attack btw: Fūton: Kamikaze; Wind Release: Divine Wind]. so that it wouldn't be sapped too quickly, and then surge it upwards through the newly heated air into the clouds, once again starting up the makings of a lightning storm to be under Makata's control. The easy part would be directing the electricty from the clouds of the chakra rain; the hard part would be actually hitting their opponent, who probably would be prepared for round 2 of the Kirin if she decided to go that route again.

Eric, panting, watched this with slight amazement, somewhat dazzled that his team had such fight left in them. Then again, he was the one who had just devestated the battlfield, not them. Also, that earlier attack had clearly been directed at him. Despite his earlier worries, his enemy clearly was now beginning to target him. "Raisan, our last chakra pill," he ordered. Taking three in one battle was going to have none to great effects by the time he got home, IF he got home, and he might even start feeling the effects after expelling the energy in the form of chakra. Makata seemed to be preparing for another Kirin. Their enemy had already seen that once; it was not likely that they would actually fall for it. But maybe Makata had a different idea in mind than what he was thinking. Not to mention he couldn't stop her, nor would he dare. They were on the same side.

Raisan complied, but warned, "The dangers of taking three pills in such a short time..." "I know Raisan, but if Makata plans on coordinating another attack, then we can't warp to her if she's right in the air when crap hits the fan," Eric grumbled with a hint of joviality, taking the last pill.

Renna would not completely stop her chakra sensing when performing this wind style, but her range would be limited to the point of intereaction between the two techniques.

The shifting in chakra within his rain technique's clouds alerted him to the enemy's planned assault. Lightning would flash across the sky, providing him with an idea. Smirking, he would reach into his pouch, and retrieve his chakra pill. Popping it into his mouth, he would turn to his team and speak while he waited for the kick in effects. "Thorn, I need you to cause a distraction. Something to draw their attention from the sky for just a moment..." Thorn quirked a brow at his request. She knew not to question Shadow, but that didn't mean she was without trepidation. "Don't kill em, okay?" Shadow chuckles at her comment, as he turns to watch a second watery tornado begin to take form.

He turns to examine Lathasa, before he signals the numbers three, seven, and four. Lathasa's eyes bulge, then he turns, and dashes to the right, far into the forest. Knowing the enemy, they would have found a way to counter Shadow's Vacuum Palm technique. Continually, he had no doubt they would have countered the flame tornado technique, as it was nothing more than a diversion. He hopped it would hold the opposing teams attention for the moment. The big issue he would have would be their sensory Shinobi. However, he had an idea. Reaching his destination, he would watch as the two techniques hit each other. Completing his handseals a moment after the two techniques connect, Lathasa inhales, then exhales a gust of wind downwards, sending himself ever higher into the air. When he reached the correct altitude, he would fly through the clouds, and into the clear air above. The strong winds here would fuel his next technique. It was a technique that had taken him years to master under the guidance of a wind trainer. He still couldn't do it without some wind to bolster his technique, and considering the size he needed, nothing less than what he had now would be enough. By the time he finishes the handseals, the two tornadoes would have cancelled each other out, and Thorn will have completed her distraction. "Futon: Kyūkyoku no Kaze torappu: Katto-fū no tatsumaki!"

Channeling the winds around him which gusted at high speeds, he would cause a massive spiraling wind formation. With a thrust,. it would breach the clouds above the opponents, and hit the ground with a roar. The clouds would circulate above the opponents, however they also remained within the tornado, lashing the chakra sapping in every direction. The tornado, covering a small radius of about seven and a half meters at its base, would circulate about the opponents, the winds gusting with enough power to rip the ground up, and for any unfortunate soul to get trapped within the winds, it would rip them apart, quite literally. The winds, reactive to Lathasa's chakra, would follow his whim. More than that, within the winds Lathasa's chakra surged, making sure that no lesser wind technique would easily overpower this one. The technique would hit when the other techniques cancelled, and swirl about the opponents, leaving minimal chance the opposing sensory nin saw it coming. It would also move with, well, the speed of the wind, thus making dodging, or escaping before it struck nigh on impossible. They would have a very short window of time. Lathasa would be seen hurtling towards the ground, a moment before a shadow caught him, and disappeared into the woods.

The shadow was a clone of Shadowfire himself. Thorn's part was simple. Distract the opponents. And she would do just that. Watching Shadow as he motioned to Lathasa, it was easy to see that they had a major move planned. She feared Shadow might take it too far. However, she also knew Shadow wouldn't harm someone extensively unless it was necessary. So, putting her trust in the team leader, She would dash forth. Two clones would appear beside her, both of Shadow's creation. One looked like Shadowfire, the other with a likeness of Lathasa. The three of them would exit the forest, directly in the line of sight of the opponents. The clones would separate, headed towards the sides of the opponent, while Thorn was left to run towards their head.

Before she breached six meters of the opponent, she would jump into the air, and arc slightly, bringing her fist back. A moment later, she would slam her fist into the ground, causing it to break up, and send multiple good sized rocks into the air. She would rotate, and with a flurry of palm strikes, she would send a multitude of the rocks barreling at the opponents. This would, hopefully, blind their sights to what was going on above, and presumably far above the sensory shinobi's range,  as well as what the two clones were doing. Both would slide to a halt on opposing sides of the opponents, and begin flicking a large number of Senbon at the team in the center of.

Shadow, after having the pill take effect, inhales deeply the scent of the battle. He had sent a clone to catch Lathasa, and two others to assist Thorn. Now all that was left was his part. (If the team was caught in the tornado) Shadow would pump his chakra into the clouds, once more overriding the opposing member's chakra. This made the lightning now a part of his jutsu, and thus an extension of his chakra. Shadow would look towards the op[posing team. "You're not the only ones who can utilize lightning like a pro..." Shadow would raise his hand towards the sky, "Raiton: Kirin." Shadow would drop his hand, and within an instant, a bolt of lightning would drop from the sky, striking the ground. The bolt would be massive, and containing enough power to glass the ground with a depth of six feet and a diameter of seven and a half meters. Shadow would hold back most of the electrical damage, however, as it would not be his intention to kill his opponent. If it did strike, however, the lightning would certainly, and nearly instantly, knock out, and shut down the opponents body, except the brain and heart. Then the opponents would go through a sort of 'reboot' phase, which would take a few moments, allowing Shadow to trap them, surround them, or do any other action he so desired.

(If the opponents managed to escape the trapping Tornado) Shadow would follow much the same actions, except take the opposing teams Ideas. He would utilize the split kirin, and strike at the four opposing chakra networks that he was still monitoring with his Byakugan. After the completion of either technique, the wind tornado would slowly come to a stop, as all of Shadow's team converged back at his position. Lathasa was panting, his chakra nearly depleted due to the jutsu he utilized. Thorn was eyeing her chakra pill, wondering if she should take it, or perhaps hand it to Lathasa. Shadow remained watching the opponents, wondering what to do next.

Keying his communication system, he would speak to Kara. "Come to my position. But do so carefully. I do not want the opponents finding you." Kara looked out at the battlefield, watching the mayhem take place. It was unlike anything she had seen before. After receiving Shadow's orders, she would depress the button, and return with a "Sir." Her orders acknowledged, she would make her way slowly down from her perch, and take a wide, and diverging path to throw off any possible followers, back to her team.

Shadow watched the opposing team, wondering what would happen next, and weather or not this would be enough to end this seemingly endless battle. He was a bit sad at the devastation about his favored Shrine, be he would live. he just wondered weather or not this group of opponents would fight to the end, or simply forfeit like all the others.

Immortal Guardian Shadowfire edits: The chakra dump, and overriding, as well as the kirin occur after the collision of the fire and water tornadoes. The rest of the turn occurs before, and during the collision.

Renna, as the two techniques would collide, would notice, on the outskirts of her re-expending sensory area, that their enemy was once again preparing to follow up. Again with earth it seemed. "Now would be a good time to formulate a plan!" Renna shouted. It was hard to miss earthen projectiles, even for people with only average sight, so Renna didn't bother elaborating any further on that. Eric, growing somewhat tired of all of this, now knew that he needed to wrap this up. He also was forced to acknowledge that whether he liked it or not, he would need to borrow some of the enemy's strength. After all, it seemed as if they were not wearing down anytime soon (as he cannot judge their chakra levels himself) while they were.

Eric would grab the hilt of his sword and channel chakra through it, once again emitting a black barrier of energy around the earthen structure and his team, shielding them effectively as the rocks either broke up and fell down along the barrier or were entirely deflected, as the standard barrier was well versed in defence against attacks of that nature. (Shadow Field: Tate Kage) Again it would take the shape of a dome on the surface and below, shielding them from attacks from above and below in a 360 degree fashion of a sphere. Renna, somewhat surprised that Eric would resort back to this barrier, who's composition would make it ineffective against the rain, was about to question the action when the spiralling vortex of wind and water came down towards them in the form of a tornado.

With not enough time to down the barrier and to make a run for it, Renna warned, "Brace yourselves!" The wind attack surrounded the team promptly began whacking at the barrier; the ground was churned, but the barrier held strong. However, Eric could feel that the barrier was weakening; this was due to the rain within the fallen cloud's wind that would sap at the chakra of the barrier. In order to counter this, Eric was forced to once again augument his barrier with the Gate of Shadows. This would give the barrier the properties of the gate of shadows, the entirity of the attack seemingly falling right into the barrier.

The second this is over, Makata, and the barrier drops along with the wind... "I ORDER you to run," Eric ordered firmly, not wanting Makata to get anymore "ideas". Makata opened her mouth to protest, herself preparing to kirin when control of the electricity was stripped from her. She realized quickly that the enemy had predicted her next move, and was not making the motion to turn it against them. "Can this thing survive being struck by lightning?" Makata would ask. "Why do you ask?" Eric inquired, "They didn't get control of your lightning did they?" As if in response, suddenly a powerful bolt of lightning would strike downwards at the team; however it, too, would "fall" inside the barrier. By this point it was becoming clear to the group that they needed to attempt something different.

"Belay that order. Delay on running!" Eric shouted, "Raisan, take Makata via underground out of here. Renna... you're with me." As the dust cleared  out, Eric temporarily disabled the gate of shadows effect for the barrier and lowering the barrier portion 20 degrees below them, Raisan, using his earth style, would "guide" Makata and both would disappear into the ground without a trace. With great speed and diligence, the two fled the battlfield. "So if things gets hairy..." Renna started as she now detected the enemy team's location, "We leave too right?" "That's the plan," Eric firmly stated.

During this entire time, due to the clouds of the chakra rain being used largely in the attack, the few clouds remaining in the sky would be ordinary thunder clouds, the cooled temperatures from the previous attack threatening to have them recede, regardless of the amount of electrical energy left in the atmosphere. It would either be loosed off as ordidnary lightning to strike a random location, or the charge would be "lost" as the thunderstorm died. A crack in the clouds revealed a starry, half mooned night. However, this was a relatively small crack, as much of the thunderstorm would still be attempting to stay alive. Nevertrheless, Eric restored the entirity of his barrier's range (not the gate of shadows effect unless Shadow attacked with kirin again) so that the two remaining combatants were fully encompassed again.

Immortal Guardian Shadowfire stood with his team, and cursed as he saw his attack absorbed. He had counted on that being the final strike. He watched the Chakra as two figures ran from the field, leaving but two left to finish the battle. Shadow arched a brow at that, wondering what his opponent had planned. Without much time to think, he looked at his team. "Two retreated... Fan out, and stay hidden..." he looked at Kara who had arrived a little while ago, and smiled. [/color=blue]"You gonna be okay?" Kara looked at Shadow and gave a nod, before vanishing with Thorn. Lathasa knew Shadow planned the final assault, or perhaps even a final showdown face to face with the opponent. He flew off to follow orders.

Shadow Cracked his knuckles before he formed a set of seals. A half second after he finished, lightning would crackle violently about him, before settling into a well known jutsu. It was the Raiton no Yoroi. Synchronizing with his neural neural synapses, The jutsu would speed  up his processing abilities, and gift his being with raw speed and power. His Hakai Ame finally ending, Shadow would seemingly vanish. Utilizing the shunshin, he would move at incomprehensible speeds due to the lightning armor he wore. It was even said that with the two techniques combined, the person can move at speeds equal to that of the Hirashin. Shadow would appear, within but a second, six meters before the opponents.

"Well, Nara Eric. I know that two of your team members have departed, which begs the question of why you're still here. Do you plan to forfeit?" Shadow quirked a brow, as he watches the chakra fields about his opponents. The rest of his team waited with baited breath to see what would occur.

Renna flinched the moment Shadow activated the raiton no yoroi; this was Eric's signal, to which he re-activated his gate of shadows attribute to his barrier. Then Shadow came up; it was only slightly dissapointing that they didn't attack. while Eric could fire up his Futon based equivalent, he acknowledged defeat in that sense when he saw it; he could maybe match his opponent's speed through the air, but because of his lack of a doujutsu, his visual awareness and connected reflexes as a result would not be on par, and he would, as such, be overwhelmed with time. He would need to find a way around that that didn't include eye transplants. "Well, as good shinobi knows when to stop fighting; a better shinobi know as even more important it is... Bleh, let me start over. A good shinobi knows when to stop fighting. But a better one knows how to stop fighting. I'm... not giving up. Yet. If you beat me once again, then yeah, I'll surrender, but not with my  hands up."

Eric laughed at his own joke, gripping the hilt of his sword tightly. If his enemy charged him... He would need to be in the utmost of prepared. He channelled chakra into his sword, his barrier radiating slightly in response. This was his ultimate defense, yes it was, and as long as he had both it and chakra remaining, it would remain his ultimate defense.

Immortal Guardian Shadowfire sighs softly. He would reach into his pouch, and withdraw a scroll. He would drop the scroll to the ground, and it would open. A moment later, a staff about as long as Shadow, and very thin would appear in his hands. Spinning the staff before him he would indicate the seals written at three points. In the center, it was written "Protect," on one side it was written "Seal," and finally it was written on the other edge it was written "Obliterate." Shadow spun the staff before him as the lightning no Yoroi flickered black. A half second later, Shadow raised his hand not holding anything. It was a signal. A massive red blade surged forth from the forest on the left of the opposing team. The blade slashed in front of the team's barrier.

Lathasa held the blade in a way that it would remain thus to block the opposing team's view of Shadowfire. More than that, it would block any escape towards Shadow's direction unless they launched themselves over his vibrating blade. And that? That would be a major mistake. From the opposing direction a near continuous stream of Kunai, Shuriken, and Senbon lashed out. Kara continued the assault, using no chakra but to clone the many projectiles she was throwing... Considering she was so weakened, it was a miracle she was even participating. Shadow smiled slightly. From behind the opponents, Thorn would strike the ground, causing massive cracks to open up in the earth about the opponents on their side  of the red blade. This would follow by a storm of rocks and boulders she was kicking and throwing. Regardless of how ineffective this would be against the Gate of Shadows Technique, it would give Shadow the time to do what was needed, as the  opposing team would be focused on the attacks, and hopefully not let down their guard.

Shadow, whilst holding the staff, shunshined back twelve meters, making eighteen meters the distance between his opponents, and himself. With a flick, he would deftly twist off the end of the staff with the indicate 'seal' and toss it forth towards the red blade. Three feet before it impacted, it would arc, and hover above the opponents, following the will of Shadowfire. As it reached its destination, it would detonate into dozens of wires attached to Senbon, Shuriken, and Kunai. Each of the projectiles would be connected to a disk the hovered in the original spot. The many projectiles would impact and stick to the ground about the opposing team's barrier. The wires would be pulled taut, and a gentle ringing would be heard from them. The interweaving waves of sound would surround the opponents, and if the opponents were unlucky and listened, would be caught within an intense and dangerous genjutsu. Since Shadow nor any of his team had used genjutsu thus far, it would be unlikely his opponents would guess that the genjutsu would be active, or anywhere nearby. Continually, with the opponents being most likely distracted, and forced to keep their defense active, they would most likely be unable to escape or react before they were caught in the genjutsu. To them, it would appear if nothing had changed, and the incoming attacks would still be there. however they defense would seem to cancel.

With the genjutsu active, the opponents would most likely loose their grip on the chakra holding their technique in place, thus their defense would fail. Shadow would continue the assault by appearing the air, and pointing the end of the staff entitled 'obliterate' at the opponents. A moment later, the end of the staff would light up white, and a beam of power would expel from the staff, aimed for the opponents. If it struck, the  attack would knock the opponents off their feet, as well as cause exponential damage to their bodies. If it struck? It would be enough to end the battle. However, Shadow didn't end their. Anticipating his opponents skill, He would shunshin to the rear of his opponents, Thorn having stopped her assault as soon as Shadow's genjutsu took effect, should it take effect. He would point his ring, two twisting serpents that ran from the base of his middle finger on his right hand up to the first knuckle of his finger. It would spark black, as he smiles. "Raiton: Gian..." A black bolt of lightning would blast off the ring, aimed at the backside of his opponents.

Lathasa watches as Shadow moved with speed that was impossible for him to follow with a naked eye. For once in his life he wished he had the Byakugan, or Sharingan... He sighed softly, as he would release his red blade extension technique, and await further orders. A moment later he was joined by Thorn and Kara. Not long after, Shadow appeared at their position, none of them hiding as they stood at the edge of the forest. Before him, Shadow was twirling the staff, the seal 'Protect' glowing, but nothing occuring... for the moment. Shadow's armor remained, and the rest of the team stood behind him, ready for anything that may come...

Battle Theme http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9A2mJ4DTquE&feature=player_embedded (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9A2mJ4DTquE&feature=player_embedded)

All was going according to plan. By appearing to be hunkering down for an all-out defense, he had managed to lure more of the opposing team into either exposing their positions to him, or, coming closer. That was excellent. The first barrage of attacks would certainly leave a dent... If it weren't for his own set of ideas that were designed to ultimately end this, then he would have fled long ago. However, as first attacks were inbound, he shouted, "BANZAAAAAAAAAAAI!" Every technique, object, projectile, and drop of chakra that had been caught within Eric's gate of shadows in earlier attacks suddenly was expelled in a dark wave of energy.

As a recap before full description: (The most prominent being the renments of the thunder from the divided kirin attacks, the kenjutsu energy from the sword attack from earlier, the water-lightning creature from earlier, and more recently, the spinning column of wind and rain, now degraded somewhat to regular water, and finally, the powerful bolt of kirin energy that had been sent at them as well.)

With all of this, Eric expelled the barrier outward in a fashion that was similar to his earlier firestorm technique. By the time this was happening the genjutsu was just being set up. Pure chakra, turned black via the affinity, cutting wind, shocking natural lightning, and a torrent of water and wind would span out over the entire field of combat, combining the speeds of the individual pieces mixed into a well-blended solution. It moved at both the speed of wind and the speed of lightning, the electricty and water combination forming a sort of psuedo storm release creation that threatened to vaporize entirely anyone and anything caught within it. The wind and chakra would be lagging not far behind, carrying with them the sound genjutsu that Shadow had attmepted to employ, as air was the meduim of which they travelled and were thus re-directed in such a manner. Shadow and his team, therefore had to worry about being trapped in their own genjutsu at this point, not to mention the various weapons and attacks being repelled entirely by the great force of the technique.

Overall, the technique would cover the battleground and, more importantly, the positions of where Shadow and his team were at at the start of the genjutsu within seconds, the first portion of the wave hitting nigh at the speed of light, the second portion hitting at the speed of sound. The ground would once again be churned as the technique spread out in a cataclysmic tale. Chakra alone would not defend against such an attack in its entirety, and Shadow, being relatively close at that point, would probably be the most vulrenable to the sheer speed of the attack, even his Lightnign Armour Release far from impervious to the mixture in question. In essence, when the technique would end its wave of destruction, it would appear as if a monster had dropped a nuclear weapon on the site where Eric and Renna had been standing, save for the fact that spot was untouched by anything. The gate of Shadows' expulsions would nearly flash bomb the entire zone, making it highly difficult for anyone, after Eric initially released the technique, within sight of the group (which they would have had to be in order to visually launched their attacks with any accuracy) would be, in essence, temporarily blinded, though with distance that particular effect weakened.

Essentially, how clear of a view you had of Eric and Renna would be the gauge, with point blank range being absolute and total temporary blindess and them being specs being a blurry sort of sight. When this technique would finish its devestation, the result would leave little left to the battlezone; extending even beyond the shrine and into the forest, this impressive technique would literally make the zone resemble that of a near ground-zero location.

[Secondly, only portions of the attack travel at the speed of light. The portion that resembled the kirin attack that had earlier been absorbed. You can state later in your post that the wires were severed and thus, the genjutsu wouldn't be an issue. Thirdly, the majority of the attack travelled at the speed of wind, as stated, becuase of the wind tornado that you had used earlier been reshapened and re-expelled. It is a little moddish, but the attack is designed to make it hard for you to dodge, as this is sort of the finale I had been planning several turns back.]

Immortal Guardian Shadowfire the world would stand still as a gutteral scream would echo. Just moments before, seconds that would mean the difference between life and death, Shadow would notice a spike in chakra from his opponent's Jounin. Eric. As his chakra spiked the Shadow gate that enveloped him would begin to stir. Everything would seem to move in slow motion as Shadowfire registered it all. A moment would pass as the first wave, this lightning water wave of Eric's creation would be expulsed from the gate. Shadow, who's processing ability was enhanced by that of the Raiton no Yoroi, and the adrenaline that pumped furiously through his bloodstream, was able to see the incoming attack.

It contained two natures, that of lightning, and water. If shadow hadn't known better, he would have thought the opponent was able to utilize that of the gale style. However, Shadow was able to pick up that the two natures were not combined into one seamless attack. This pseudo-storm style carried a lot of danger. Reacting almost on pure instinct, Shadow would shunshin at speeds rivaling the Hirashin further from the incoming wave than he started. Sliding to a halt, he would throw his palm forth, releasing an attack he had used to seemingly ineffectively before. "Hakke Kūshō!" The vacuum shell, carrying the same properties as his direct contact Jyuuken style, would impact the lightning water wave in a rather furious display. Shadow, without realizing it, had also augmented the attack with a bit of electricity from his Lightning armor. This, of course, did nothing to Shadow's armor which regenerated the lightning in no time, however the extra lightning in the vacuum palm acted as an explosive catalyst. The lightning would impact the lightning of Eric's attack, and act almost as a cancellation for just long enough. The water, whose power enhanced that of the Lightning in the opponents attack and would act almost as a bonding agent, allowing the lightning to jump about with it. However, Shadow's vacuum shell would contact the water, and the residual chakra within the combined attack and disrupt it, causing a portion of the lightning water wave technique to collapse. This would not, however, effect the majority of Eric's first wave, but merely the targeted zone. It left enough space that the first wave would pass Shadow harmlessly. However, it would not end there for our Hero. No it would not.

Meanwhile, as Shadow was combatting the incoming wave, Lathasa was running like hell. Seeing the power surge had tipped him off and gave him enough time to erect a sort of wind barrier about him. However, it wasn't enough. He needed to remove himself from the most lethal area, and thus had begun to move from the field. He wouldn't get far when the first wave hit however, as it would strike nearly a second after it left the epicenter. The water, lightning fusion strike would be able to override Lathasa's wind, though not without enough effort to lessen the blow. It, of course, would still be more powerful than what had initially been thought on Lathasa's part. The lightning would act like a paralyzing agent, and electrocute Lathasa with enough power to knock him into unconsciousness. he would drop to the ground, finding peace in the blackness of his dream world, forgetting the battle and the extensive damage his body had taken from that wave.

Kara had no warning whatsoever about the incoming waves, and thus would be taken off guard. The wave would only have the land and fores that separated Kara and her opponents before hitting her with devastating force. Her already weak form was ever more prone to the wave, and she would succumb with ease, falling into a comatose state.

Thorn was the farthest from the blast, and near it's farthest edge. The light speed attack would be surging forth as she caught the tones that meant two of the team members went down. She had already maneuvered to the top of a tree as the attack surged forth, and on pure instinct threw herself as high as she could into the air. From the vantage point of the opponents, thew would be able to see her hair whipping about and her clothing, allowing them to pick out who she was. The first wave would come and go, as she began her plummet back towards the ground, the wave doing no harm to her because of her actions. This however, would not mean they were out of Danger, as a second, hidden wave would have emerged not long after.

This wave, moving at the speed of wind, would be exponentially slower than the first wave. However, it contained a massive power held within its depths due to the sheer number of combined jutsu. If it hit, even though it moved slower than the first, it's effects would be far more devastating, and ever more lethal. Not to say it moved slowly, as the wind was a rather speedy thing. No, it moved slower than the first wave, but not slow enough to leave her time to drop to the ground and rebound into the air to avoid it again. Bracing herself to the attack, She would feel a slight tugging, and her eyes would pop wider as she would vanish, a white cloud smoke expelling from her position.

She would appear behind Shadow, Lathasa and Kara already on the ground. His hands were on the ground, his hair wildly thrashing about him with his robes. The wind was getting ever closer, But Shadow had already concocted a plan. A crazy, insane, implausible plan. but a plan nonetheless. Shadow's eyes would track the incoming wave, knowing it moved quite fast. He, however, had already Shunshined to near the edge of the storm. he had hoped to completely avoid it, but he had miscalculated, and had no choice. He had to save his team, and in one impetuous move, he had failed to do what was necessary and protect his team.

His genjutsu trap failed as the team countermanded his move and severed the wires. His final move had failed to accomplish anything but allow the opponents the chance to harm his team. He cursed his inability to protect those that mattered most. He handed the remaining parts of the staff to Thorn with a command to use the protect shield on her and the other members of the team. "And you, Sir?" He did not answer, but straightened out. She would follow his orders, and erect the chakra based super-shield.

Shadow would focus a vast amount of the remaining chakra in his body to his right hand. The wind-speed wave was fast approaching, and he had just enough time in his augmented body to swing his arm back and thrust his palm forward. "Hakke Hasangeki!" [/color=In that moment, a powerful dome like wave of chakra would be expelled from Shadow's palm. Containing the same properties as his Jyuken, this Hazzan strike would impact the incoming wind-speed wave with a thunderous crash, deafening in it's sound as it rolled across the field. The Hazzan Strike would, in effect cancel out the wave by disrupting the chakra. The massive amount of power expulsed by Shadow would allow it to disrupt the chakra in the incoming wave. Like before, the technique would only cancel out the part he targeted, which in effect was rather large. The rest of the wave would continue on and then end as normally.

Shadow would fall to one knee as his Lightning armor flickered out. Containing minimal chakra, he would force himself to his feet, knowing never to reveal his weaknesses to his enemies, and look back at his team. They were safe, as Thorn released the shield. Shadow would release his Byakugan, and turn to look at his opponents, knowing this match was either over, or just about. [/color="Thorn. Tend to our team. And come if you think I need it." Thorn nods, and looks at the dire state her team members are in, as Shadow walks towards the opposing team at a slow, seemingly leisurely pace.

Nara Eric as the dust cleared, a shinobi hit the dust. It seemed to be Eric, the effects of the three pills finally being too much for him. For a brief moment, Renna contemplated re-calling the entire team back using a sensory technique; however, to escape the radius, their two teamates had to go quite the distance. The time it would take for them to come to them was... Too much, considering their enemy may have survived. Besides, Eric needed medical attention, as he had went quite beyond his body's limits in certain degrees. The fact that he actually pulled it off surprised her. Then again... he was her Jounin. She stooped, and brought the overly tall shinobi to her shoulder, preparing to warp, when she sensed the chakra of the other contestants. There was no telling what they were up to, but at least they were quite the distance. Shadow seemed to be approaching, his chakra noteably fainter than before.

Renna, attempting to hide her excitement, pieced together that their opponents had survived the last wave of attacks. As Shadow came into hearing range, she would shout, "So, it finally ends." As a safety precaution, she would lie Eric down, and face Shadow in a defensive stance, prepared to use  any means neccessary to defend her team leader and herself. Her sensory abilities would be keyed to any changes in chakra. Eric, despite everything, managed to peek open an eye for a few moments. Although blurry, he could tell that the  entire battlfield had been affected as planned. Of course, he was on the ground still... Which worried him, since logically Renna should have stuck to the plan... Unable to further contemplate the situation, Eric passed out again.

While happy that they had managed to survive, Renna knew for sure that there was nothing more dangerous than a shinobi faking a reluctnace to strike. The opposing team had not came at them with an attack, as of yet. She would wait to hear for sure if Shadow decided to also call it "the end", or if he would make a move to finish them.

Immortal Guardian Shadowfire stops before Renna, three meters of distance between he and the two downed members. His eyes, golden and piercing, hid his exhaustion and his damage well as he examined the opposing members. Thorns voice would whisper in his ear, "Shadow, I have treated the team members as best I can... I would advise falling back. they need a hospital visit." Shadow's eyes fell to Eric, and they narrowed a bit before he lifted his hand to depress the transceiver button on his collar. "Thorn. Well done. Erect a small shield for a moment, and come to my position."

A few seconds later, Thorn would be standing beside Shadow. Shadow would finally look up to Renna. "I'm sure you've guessed by now, doll, that there is no way for you to win against me. Nor do I have the energy to keep battling. This is indeed the end..." Shadow looks at Thorn. "Examine their Jounin, and administer the best first aid you can. I want to ensure his survival, considering the expenditure of chakra. I guess he had taken at least two, if not three chakra pills..."

Thorn nodded, and approached Eric carefully, bending down to examine the being, before forming a set of seals. Her hands would glow green with the healing ninjutsu she was going to attempt to administer to the Jounin. Shadow watched Renna, and then slowly extended his hand. "It was a fantastic battle. I am glad that we got to participate together." His eyes appraised the female before him.

Renna was uneasy. They had, after all, been practically trying to kill each other earlier, so there was no telling whether the offer was genuine or not. Then again, he didn't attack... So, as a Chunin after all, and thus the highest rank their team had conscious right now, she firmly stated, as she moved over to once again hoist Eric upon her shoulders, "The same, believe it or not, would probably be said from Eric, although in a less... Well, he would have said it in his own way. Our team is rather ragged, and, quite honestly, we didn't think we'd get very far in the Exams. When the other Leaf team dropped out of fighting us, Eric took it upon himself to show what Konoha was made of. Well... I think we've accomplished that to some degree, so..." With a wink, she added, "Mission complete. You've also shown us why Eric has such a... Caution concerning Mist ninja, so I would say you accomplished your goal, to a degree, as well. I am glad that we could face opponents like yourself." And with that, she politely declined the offer, as Makata would be able to get them back to Konoha with relative ease. She would nod once again, Eric on her shoulders, bearing down on her unknowingly, and would make preperations to warp away, waiting a few moments for any departing words. If there were none, this would be the point where she would seemignly flash away,, though it was via the Summoned Migration Technique.

Immortal Guardian Shadowfire Smiles at the female, and as she vanishes, he speaks softly. "Farewell, Konoha Shinobi... May we meet again under friendly circumstances." And with those words, he returns to his team, and begins preparations for a reverse summoning jutsu back to the Kirigakure lands, where his team could receive proper care...

Wow you guys! That was great.

I really enjoyed reading this match and working with the both of you. And now I have to be all serious and stuff and choose a winner. For it was not about who beat who. That was only one third of the testing criteria. And that was listed on the jounin exam thread and can be referred to you lazy bums!

So...I could do a play by play analysis but that would take me a week to complete.

My over all impressions, without specifics are as follows:

You guys did great. You kept to your ranks and led your teams well. At first...

Then you got a bit too into the idea of winning and started fighting at your SL levels. Bad bad bad.

Zenaku says I should put you into a death match and the winner gets a wedgie!

However...I am not going to do that.  I will give you some advice, name a winner, award the prizes, and then thank you both so very much for having the heart and the desire to see this thing clear through the end. That is the most inspiring part of this whole thing for me and I can never thank the two of you enough for your dedication and drive in continuing despite the long months of RPing this thing to completion.

1] watch being OP. You both have a tendancy to go there. Not often, but it is there nonetheless.

2] watch 'knowing' things that you really should not be able to discern at the distances you are claiming to be able to deduce things.

3] watch the abilities of your sensor nins. Way too knowledgeable in what they are able to discern for chuunins. There were one or two places that I have to think that sensor nin's just would not be able to detect that no matter their levels.

4] And you both have a tendency to make too many moves in one post. Each player should, and this includes the chuunins you were employing, only be able to make an attack, a defense and a supplementary move per turn. Free actions like talking are without limit.

But there is much more good stuff here than these mistakes, these things I see as mistakes. It is very difficult to RP below your actual skill level. And perhaps that in itself is a skill trait that needs to be developed better by everyone.

You are both willing to take hits and deal with the use of chakra and its subsequent depletion of your chakra pool. Your npcs were fully developed characters each with distinct powers and personalities. I recall Eric wondering if he could even manage to RP so many npcs. I just laughed knowing he could. Your own character's maintained their persona and Shadow's care of his warriors was particularly consistent throughout.

However...I feel that Eric has demonstrated his ability just slightly better than ShadowFire so I will call him the winner of the match. Of course you both obtain official Jounin status...whoot whoot?

Eric and I discussed how this would effect IC-ness. I would wish to call it an IC event that perhaps took place in the past, if you can manage to fit that into your combined histories in some way. It was just too good a fight to let stand as a non-rp event. But that will be up to the both of you.

I will send out the DP and of course Award the OP weapon to Eric and congratulate you both again on sticking to it.

Despite the "open for comments" note, I don't think there is going to be much to break the ice, so I'll just start us off. Or at least say something!

Anyways, the Jounin Exam took a long time to complete. Next time something like this is hosted, I think we should consider a forum battlefield, maybe right here on SL forum. That away, every fight can be archived, and every fight can go at the pace that the last round went to an extent. No one drinking coffee in order to get halfway through a fight, just to fall asleep or any such nonsense!

I know I had fun in the two fights I participated in, the final round being the most difficult of the two. Had i had to fight Kirk, there is a chance I might not would have made it to the finals. Either way, at least one Leaf woulda made it to the finals in that situation.  I didn't get to fight all the participants, and was surprised that in the end, it came down to an even number; two. The three way royale didn't quite happen, but... Maybe that was for the best in this instance.

As I review the fights (both) I can't help but wonder how we are supposed to judge what is and what isn't Chunin and Jonin rank! I mean, after all, the series doesn't really help us much, since people ranked as genin are taming bijuu and killing Hokage-elects! Worst of all, the perceptions of what is Jonin is incredibly different throughout the realm. What Tomi thought was Jounin Commander status Rare reasoned was Jonin status. What I thought would be Chunin status, someone else thought genin and so on.

Next, once the villages come out in a week or so (not sure whether upcoming update is THE update people have coiled and came over) if this event can't be placed on a forum, then is there a chance that a village will host it, such as the Chunin Exams? What about just random Tourneys with weapons, shields, DP, hands in marriage (preference not determined), and maybe even shops to the representative of the winning village? Would people even be interested?

This will hopefully be a discussion starter of sorts.

I recall the first tourney i was ever in. It never did make it to the grand champion round. And that is a huge problem. How do you keep the momentum rolling in ANY event?

Look at the Oto battle? You will have to recall it from memory and cannot literally go look for it was too long ago now and many people just don' t possess a map. But it was housed on the village board, ate up all chances for other RP to occur in the village and took days on end for the next person to even get their turn.

I feel that such all encompassing battles should be taken to the zones if they seem to be dominating all that can occur in that village board. You get a hand full of people posting and no one else can even get a post in edgewise. Holding up a village board for days on end in order to wait for the next person to post is just plain impractical. You can get away with that sort of thing better on a forum but still after so long that absent person is going to have to be dealt with.

But as to tourney events. It might be a good way to decide who gets what kind of shops for their village. But coding is sure to take a long time as Neji has to do it all. And that is problematic due to time constraints upon him. I Think the last official WAR saw Kiri gain Suna's old mount shop?

I should like to see WAR dealt with in an official manner and will start a discussion thread about that elsewhere. Like a real event instead of just some rogue spam fest.

It is simple really. The participants gather in the hosting village, then go to the zones (or host private zones) to actually duke it out. Then return to the hosting village in order to get healed and whatnot.

Kirigakure did get Suna's beast shop... I was not a happy Leaf camper becuase after that war, it was decided to erect Ninja Central, meaning Konoha was no longer the "capital" of the in-game world.  But meh, the price of 2v1 in a PvP slaughter is the obvious. the more you can kill, the better, and since Mist were the only "hostile" ones, then the Sand + Leaf kind of helped them win... In my opinion. But that it biased of course. ^_^

As I recall Suna was doing pretty good in the Pvp thing until Konoha became their allies, then suddenly Kiri's pvp count jumped way up there, so in a sense allying with Konoha lost Suna the war. [snickers]

It woulda worked fine had the Sound done their part and been more appealing to the Mist. >.> There were/are still more Leaf ninja though in-game than nigh any other denomination.

The logic behind the loss and Suna doing good until then, most likely, is quite easy to explain:

If you have a clan with 30 members and are going to engage  in war against one with 10 that can beat at least 11 of the 30, you are bound to lose.

My guess would be Suna was outnumbered, and as such favored, then when a demographic force as large as Konoha was placed on Suna's side the downfall was certain. I doubt that all the other villages as much as matched Konoha's population combined at the given time. It's slightly more balanced now a days, but if a free for all pvp war started, Konoha would likely lose due to outnumbering the others, which in a pvp war is somewhat of a drawback.

What you say is very true. Still it seems that with more warriors to have the potential for 3 pvps per day that the count would have stacked up in favor of the Suna/Konoha alliance. That just didn't seem to work out well at all.
Title: Re: 2012 Jounin Exam Final Round [Open for Comments]
Post by: Uchiha, Rares on July 24, 2012, 07:33:03 PM
Well to put it more simply, if Suna was already capable and over a third of the opposing force, it couldn't even make use of all it's pvps on it's own, in which case exponentially rising the number of pvp one side could do per day it ended up with the Suna/Konoha side having several times more pvp than it could use while the Kiri side had more than enough people to exhaust their pvp on.

In financial terms, we had the money for 30 cars but only 3 were available on the market. While Kiri had the money for 15 cars, 50 were available on the market.
Result: We get to buy 3 and have a bunch of money to spare, Kiri is out of money and has 15 cars while the competition between the two revolved solely around who could buy more cars.

Honestly, such a war could have been easy to win with a simple act: Move most of Suna and Konoha to Kiri to turn the odds around. (or was that option locked?)

Now though Ichiraku's... Not sure how they worked that one.

I know I haven't been on in a while, so let me make my comments real quick. Congratulations Eric! I had a feeling you were winning, for I had deduced my mistakes a while before Kayenta has. Ah the beauty of self-reflection. Secondly, That was the best battle I have had since the last war I participated in. I am more than happy that I participated, and even came as runner-up. Thank you so much for allowing me to participate. It was a worthwhile event, and I thoroughly enjoyed the battle, and event from the beginning to it's completion. I'm a bit miffed I didn't win, in truth, but I am glad to have seen it go to a worthwhile opponent, and a true master of Role Playing. Well done, Eric.

Finally, Kayenta, I wanted to thank you for hosting this event. I know it had a lot of work put into it, and for that, we find that it turned out to be a wonderful event to participate in. Congratulations to it's completion, and I do hope we will be finding more fun to be had later on within Shinobi Legends. For if not, I'll be sad. This RP event was amazing!

I will be loosing internet for about a month to a month and a half due to the fact i am moving, and to transfer the distance, it will cost upwards of 400 dollars. I am sorry, but as soon as I get it back, I will hop on, and begin role-playing like a maniac once more... I hope ya'll will have fun without me... (impossible, I know, but come on!)

I appluad you as well Shadow. To be honest, I hadn't been expecting to win as I noticed that, as I tend to do when facing incredible force, I went on the defensive for a large portion of the match, esp. nearer to the end. You can commend me as a master RPer, but you were absolutely grand yourself. I am sort of glad that I didn't have to fight you in RP at the spas, as I doubt I would have left the same way I came in, especially in the status that i was in at the time.

You and your Chunin were a well figured unit, sensibly having all of the elemental affinities incorporated into your team in one way or the other, which, now that I think about it, probably would have made more sense than reinforcing Wind twice. You fought extremely well, maintained a coordinated team and held control of the battlfield for the majority of the fight. In essence, I commend you as well on your performance, and must admit, there were more than a few times I didn't think I was going to make it to the end.

And Kay... Well, what Shadow said concerning how great of an experience this turned out to be, with the addition that if you host another similar tourney, make sure to send invitations our way once again.

Well it was a tough call and do not think that it wasn't. But these things are set up for ONE winner. Such is life.

Shadow I hope we can manage to live without you for a whole month!! But I hope your new home turns out to be everything you hope it will be and look forward to the huge party Suna will host upon your return. Do you like sandworm? I must plan a menu and games and all sorts of things...MWahahaha...perhaps we will waste some water and get you to sit in a dunking machine? All proceeds to go to the orphans home.

And seriously? It will be next year before I host another exam. lol

But there is a tourney going on now. I suspect many people will enjoy this as am I. The Curse and others...I can never remember that clan's name.... anyway, find out about it and join!
