book, you get complete detail and use of imagination to give yourself a mental image of what it would look like if it were true....
also, when they do stuff in the movie like making people fly, they ruin what happens in other books, which is why in the 7th movie theyll be all "wait... we saw them flying in 5th year.... no big deal"
