Personality: The wizened Soya is, at first glance, louche, eccentric, and possibly mentally defective. Shockingly amiable and endlessly broad-minded, albeit sometimes dangerous of mood, he exemplifies the cavalier spirit of Bohemia. His laid-back demeanour belies a curmudgeonly and contrarian underbelly; boorish, joyfully nihilistic, charmingly cantankerous, Soya’s rebel exterior, though mellowed, conceals acerbic and scathing intellect.
