Council / Re: Requesting Council Action: Strip for Inactivity: Yujo
« on: December 08, 2016, 06:07:06 PM »
Didn't actually believe anyone was around that still cared about this stuff to create a strip Post, life's busy and I went over my time limit. I was sorta just waiting around with Gedo stuff, while also (like Trev said) waiting for that big showdown.

If Addy wants the beasts so badly, then let him, not like any decent fighter is going to have trouble retrieving em.

Good luck everyone, I'll drop this one as gracefully as possible considering the circumstances. Though, if allowed, I would like to suggest that I have taken Trev's 'challenge' as official, since we had begun setting up details of the fight and speaking on who should judge it. So if anyone should receive the beast, it should be him.

The only argument against that would be, "No, I want the beast and deserve it more cause i made these posts..."

He's the only one with the testicular fortitude to step up to the plate and lay down a challenge to me personally, so I believe if I am allowed any options as a host anymore, the beast shall be relinquished to Trev, immediately.

The challenge a list shall transfer to him, and he can fight Addy, unless of course Addy doesn't want to fight Trev for some 'unknown reason'. XD I'm just having fun now.

Cheers.

I don't understand why nearly two weeks after this post was made, these crawlers came out of nowhere and are being allowed to create a clusterfuck. There have been multiple topics at this point regarding the gedo, and if you did not display your interest at that time, I do not think you should be allowed to join, this means: Shadow, Jay, and Dato. If you wanted a shot, you should have stepped up. Now you should wait your turn after the tourney ends and challenge the winner. Not only will it make the tourney smoother, but allowing these people to join only slows down the completion of the tourney and the distribution of the mazo (which was meant to happen at the end of October), but it makes it so much more difficult to setup the entire thing, once again slowing the whole process down.

It's my two cents.

Each of you 3 has been notified through mail of some sort, informing you of this thread. As the Council has failed to get anything done regarding this, I suppose it is up to us to take matters into our own hands. Their vote thread hasn't been touched in 8 days or so, so I will assume those who wished to vote, did, and it was unanimously set for a FFA.

I appreciate Eric's/Genesis' efforts for getting us this far, but their lack of presence as of late has required me to step back up. I expect the same attitude from the rest of you (Athos, Curse, Camel).

Now, I suggested a set of rules to be in place to govern this fight, so it ends as 'smoothly' as it has begun.

48 Hour post limit. ~40 Days. You miss, you get DQ'd.

To explain more clearly, you get two days to post, the fight will go on no longer than 40 days, and if you are absent for your posting date, you get DQ'd, otherwise we'd have to skip you, and what happens if you are in a position where you are being bombarded with attacks, and it is your defense? You can just 'get busy' and be placed in Limbo, free and null from damage? Seems exploitable and unfair to the other participants. I am willing to raise the post time limit to 2.5 days or 60 hours if we can agree to an insta DQ in the case someone doesn't post during their required time.

Any and all suggestions are welcomed from the each of you, and I do hope the rest of the community understands that we appreciate their help in forming this structured environment, and stays out. :D Cheers~

I will be notifying the other members who wished to join that we will be doing a FFA, and among ourselves we shall discuss the intricacies. Thank you for your...thread.

I guess throw my hat in.

Even if his name was Donald 'Shadow' Trump, I'd still vote for him. I nominate that guy if you didn't get it. :D

I find that setting a number of posts, or setting a number of days for the whole event to be completed really isn't required. It takes as long as it takes, the fight going on until one emerges victorious could be quite interesting.

To set the limiter on how long a person has to post is the real issue, to keep it active and moving along. But as long as fighting is going on, I do not really see an issue with how long it takes. Rping actively is the main goal. Why have a dead line for how long it takes to achieve a victory?

Entrance posts typically are just supposed to be for showing up. Period. If An announcement is made for the event to take place, and a council member makes the thread on that date, then the posting order could be set by first come first served basis after that point.

To keep the starting date being a bad day for someone, the time limiter of 48 hours could work for the entrance post too. Just in case.

Completely disagree with a lot said here.

I've been apart of these type of things, and I have no intention in sitting here for the next 5 months waiting for people to figure out how to not die, while also scum up the rest of the battlefield. Aside from that, no, you're quite wrong about the 'goal' here; this thread isn't called the "Agenda #69: Activity", it's about the Gedo Mazo, and who it will be distributed to. The activity between 4 people in an OOC event, on a Forum of a re-skinned Forum called Shinobilegends means nadda. The goal here, and I think I can speak for everyone participating (feel free to correct me), is to beat up some kids, and take the statue for later use.

Sorry not sorry if I come off aggressive, but it's not your time you are talking about being so free, and 'interesting'. If you were involved in the RP, I'd gladly rally the other participants to vote against that suggestion, but even so, I don't think I would have had to.

48 post limit. ~30 Days. 2 skips = DQ. No further questions your honor.

If we are going to have a FFA, we should have a time limit on how long someone can take to post their reply.

For instance, let's say, each person takes a generous 3 days to post, each. First person posts, if we're lucky two others post on the same day, but the last guy posts the next day.

19 to go.

Guy 1 takes another day to post, 18.
Guy 2 gets a bit busy, 15
Guy three posts next day, 14.
Finally, we get through the first real round of combat after guy 4 posts the next day, 13.

A week goes by and we go through 1 round of combat. And let's be completely honest with each other, not everyone is even going to post an entrance on day one, or two xD

I hate the idea of people being able to put up 4000 character long posts, doing shinigami knows what, stalling till the time is up (Getting busy), then having the judge have nothing else to look at but the Wall of Text no Jutsu you put up and winning because of it. That's not earning, it's rubbish. While I would never accuse any of the other contestants, *cough* athos *cough* Curse *cough* (What? Did you actually think I wasn't going to?), it's a completely viable strategy if allowed, even if done unintentionally.

I say 24 hours is a fair limit, we get through a round of turns every 4 days Max, and give the eventual judge something substantial to work off of when making his decision. And please, don't go through to the 'people have lives' argument. If every other person takes 12 hours or so to post, you've got mad time between your last post, and this one.

I think if anyone else was going to speak up, they would have. Athos hasn't spoken on this topic, or the other one, at all, so we can assume he doesn't care anymore. Auto-giving him a spot in the tourney seems silly considering he hasn't voiced an opinion about the thing in months.

I say 4 person max, 4 week time limit, 48 hours being the max time a participant can take to make a post before immediate DQ. Randomize the post order so there aren't any immediate advantages to a single person. Agree to the Zone type (Zone 6), and pick a judge that has shown to be fair and unbiased.

If neither Trev or Shadow have any interest in joining, I'd elect one of them to the role, though that kind of shit-show would be a goddamned headache, so I doubt they'd necessarily want to, but to start circulating names, I'm game for them.

Council / Status: Bijuu Council
« on: November 06, 2016, 11:03:37 PM »
Alright ya'll, let's gather round and speak as objectively about the status of SL, it's authoritative bodies, and about those who are being restricted by said bodies.

We'll start with SL as a whole:

All in all there is about 10 people actively competing for beasts:
Kamui/Guruguru: Active, not forgotten. >.>
Rusaku: Actively involved in Bijuu Topics.
Ray: Actively involved in Bijuu Topics.
Jay: Actively involved in Bijuu Topics.
Manji: Sometimes active.
Shadow: Used to spearhead a lot of the Bijuu topics.
Madara: Actively involved in Bijuu Topics.
Athos: Actively involved in Bijuu Topics.
Yujo: Actively involved in Bijuu Topics.
Trev: Actively involved in Bijuu Topics.
Dart?
Teostra?

And there are...5 Council members?
Genesis: Active member of the council, spearheads most topics.
Chinote: I believe this sums up his status as a council member:
"I only 'volunteered' because someone else put my name in the hat and I didn't think I'd get enough votes to need to pull it out.

Whatever happens happens. If it continues, then I guess I'll keep doing it until I get voted out. If it goes away or I don't "win" the election, then whatever."
Eric: Semi-Active.
Hades: Same boat as Chinote, minus the passive-aggressive comments.
And as far as I know, that's it. The other members are either that inactive that they have been forgotten, or some other factor, because as far as I, or some other members are aware, there is no list of council members, anywhere. No public record of who actually makes, and enforces the rules.

From that list, as far as I know, only Hades (maybe) and Eric have ever been hosts. Let's really talk about that fact. There is a type of ruler, that A. Does not know the hardships his/her people face
B. Actively works against his/her people to make their lives more restrictive, and tiresome.

A dictator, or in this era: Communist. While I am aware this analogy is a bit extreme, but this is a shared sentiment by many of the hosts I've spoken to, and some non-host members of SL have expressed their apprehension to joining the 'Competitive' scene due to how restricted the hosts are. This council has displayed an oppressive attitude towards those they are making rules for, acting with complete disregard for it's hosts, and making the role of being a host 10x more difficult than the enjoyment received from being one is. How can a group of individuals, that know little of the trials a host must face, embody their ideals, and work for the betterment of it's people? The answer is, it cannot. Do remember, this is the Bijuu council, not the Shinobi Legends rule makers council, your jobs aren't to make things better for those who don't participate, because as I said, only about 10 people actually care about this stuff anymore, your job is to ensure a fair and fun environment for the Jincks, and those who wish to participate in Bijuu affairs, to which you have failed horribly.

The word stifling exemplifies the collective work of this council and it's ideals.

My suggestion: Elect individuals who can show empathy for the hosts, those who CARE about the game we play, and quit making this GAME a tiresome bore because they disagree with things. Objective, empathetic people, who understand what it is to be a host, and work for the betterment of 'this' community.

Would love a free for all. ;) Not cause he has already has a legitimate source of 'infinite chakra', a transformation that gives him a 3x multiplier, and a technique that dismantles things on an atomic level, and definitely not because of the Edo zombie spam that he would never use.  It's totally cause he love the thrills of battle with equal opponents.

I can see you..Yeah you, shaking your head. Stop it right now, you elitist. ;P
