Some people would say we're in a demilitarized zone right now because of the stalemate of the previous poll. And because of that, it's believed by them that there are no rules right now while there are new ones being discussed. But that's where they're wrong.

By subjecting themselves to the RP, and standards of RP, that concern the Tailed Beasts, they have already accepted the current rules at hand. Just because a country is changing and reforming their laws, doesn't mean that if somebody steals it won't be illegal. If people truly wanted new rules, then they would actively contribute to the discussion of it. I believe those talks need a bit more reorganizing, like a thread per rule that is wanting to be added, rectified or removed. If you like something suggested, then say something. If you don't, then say you don't. But if you're indifferent about them, then you have already subjected yourself to whatever outcome it brings.

As a summoner I'm subject to the current "old" rules, and as such I am following them. If somebody disagrees, ignores or breaks the rules, they are subject to the consequences of them just as much as I am. We're subject to greater standards and duties over the rest of the RPers here.

Feature Requests / Re: Village Change: Jiseigakure to Amegakure
« on: October 27, 2015, 06:45:21 PM »
I don't see why Hoshigakure has to be replaced. I thought Jiseigakure was more fit for needing replacing. And canonically, the land where Amegakure resides sits in the dead center of three out of five of the great shinobi nations. The travel system already somewhat works out with it's location and the amount of points needed to travel the distance to each village from Jisei/Ame.

You guys also bring up that it's supposed to be a place of neutrality. But really, when's the last time somebody has actually legitimately RP'd there? Even Hoshigakure and the higher level zones get more RP action than Jiseigakure. If you want a neutral and central place where everybody can gather, then you should suggest a secondary The Gardens module that is re-skinned and renamed to something else. Maybe even request that the Forest get an RP/commentary area, since the wilderness is pretty much a free-for-all place.

An entirely new village board is an option, but it may be a lot more time-consuming to implement.

Feature Requests / Village Change: Jiseigakure to Amegakure
« on: October 26, 2015, 07:54:31 AM »
I would like to purpose the renaming/restructuring of Jiseigakure to Amegakure. This is mainly because it seems like prime real estate for RP, and I feel that it's about time that it be introduced to the site as a village board after nine years of it being continually brought-up. And if I could site the numbers from the poll in the topic here, it can be shown that a minimum of 23 members of the community already fully support Amegakure becoming a village board. More are very much likely to cast their opinion for this.

Amegakure, the Industrialized Village of the Rain

A constant downpour of rain can be felt upon you, as you enter the village composed of iron and steel. All around you the inhabitants are wearing a cloak to shield them from the rain, and a constant chatter could be heard from the people around yourself. Steps of feet hitting upon water and steel can be heard all around you, which blends in with the sound of the rain hitting upon the metal buildings and pipes that compose the village. The entire area of the village is illuminated by lights from various shops and neon signs, making the village seem not so dark by the constantly cloudy climate, which give off various sparkles of lights at night.

A presence though can certainly be felt, as you feel watched by the eyes of the village's security hidden in the crowd and lurking behind steel buildings and structures. Conspiring or suspicious individuals have a tendency to suddenly disappear in this area.

The clock at the Ramen Shop reads [time].

You hear a villager say that today is [date].

Some would say that Jiseigakure is meant to be an area of neutrality for anybody to enter into and RP in. But really, it's not different from our OOC boards that we already have. Below is the RP and OOC board of Jiseigakure, copied and pasted as of this post's current date.

Seeing that a clone was made, Kage would have to prepare himself to handle two of his opponent. He kept note of which was the clone, which was the one that had made a fast movement towards him. But his Sharingan had enabled him to see and predict the movements of the clone easily. With this visual aid, his Gunbai was drawn from his back by his right hand, and a flow of chakra was coursed through it. This chakra formed into a sword-like form around the weapon (Gunbai Sword Technique), which he then used to swing at the clone in an attempt to bisect it as it attempted to approach and run past him. A blow such as this was easily enough to return a Wood Clone to wood.

The oncoming of chakra-infused mist was also apparent to him as it formed. This was one of Kirigakure's signature techniques, which usually hindered doujutsu's viewing capability when it came to viewing chakra. Seeing that this could be used to confuse him a bit, another swing of his Gunbai was made, this time the chakra within it being changed into one of wind nature. This would create a mighty force of wind that was more than capable of blowing away several men off their feet (Gunbai Fanned Wind). But the swing would be different, in that it's radius would be much wider than normal. This was so the wind could fan away not only the mist in front of himself, but also around himself as well. The strength of it which was already mentioned, would be more than enough to create a large gust of wind to ward off the mist for a time. This was to gauge how soon the mist would return, or whether it would return at all if it weren't continually being blown out.

You're all awful. Would have stayed longer and fought Madara if I knew this laughing stock of an issue would take place #TeamTrev
Just letting the subject of the claims of the Eight Tails stay in a thread that's been continually open for the discussion of that. But I can understand why the forum has slowed down a bit and is hesitant to talk on an issue of the Tailed Beasts. Mainly it's in fear that another 16 page-long topic will commence.

Honestly, the last few topics have just drained me of all energy and patents for this site. So, I agree with you that a 16 page long discussion just seems daunting.

Hopefully Kamui can mend the rift like he wishes too, because that would be exactly what I need to get rid of this headache >.>

When it comes to tailed beasts, you all have honestly just beaten me down with the ignorance and inability to come to any form of conclusion. I seriously wanted to help with the rules. I wanted to see something get fixed. Though I have come to the conclusion that SL will never be able to find a middle ground that everyone can agree upon. It just won't happen. I'm convinced.
At this point, I'm content with both of us having it. One has Yin and the other has Yang. As shown with Kurama, this is a canon form that the Tailed Beasts are capable of becoming. They are living forms of pure chakra in the first place. At the same time, Kurama didn't really show any notable decrease in power from being split in half. Maybe he was just down-sized a bit when initially split in half, but he apparently grew back to his regular size when shown in comparison with the other Tailed Beasts.

If the community doesn't seem troubled at all in intervening or letting their voice be known about the issue, we might as well resolve it on our own.

Or out of concern for another horse to be beaten dead for no results? Fear is a pretty intense choice of words there.

And an individual cannot claim a "standard" issue weapon. It's like, standard isssue. Maybe claim to be its creator, but claim to be the only one with it? Kind of defeats the purpose unless it used to be standard issue.
The term of beating a dead horse implies that the issue has been resolved and any other conversation about it, whether it be constructive or not, is moot.

But the fact that this is still an issue, means that the horse is alive and bucking. People just choose to pretend that it's not wrecking the farm, until it starts to dig it's hooves into their front porch and tear up their homes. By that time their ignorance comes full circle. Or perhaps the ignorance goes even further, to the point of them being content with what is to come. Simply meaning they don't care even if their house is torn down.

And I do restate the fact that the community is scared. They're scared that another stalemate in an issue will be met, and that nothing will get done or change. This is exactly what happened with the Tailed Beast Amend/Abolish thread. All that input and effort into getting it organized and getting a large amount of the participating forum community to contribute to it went to moot with an unforeseen stalemate. People are mostly calm when they know what the results of either side of a vote will bring, because it's something that can be foreseen and planned upon in advance. But in the event of a draw that occurred when both sides were so confident in winning, people stand around and have no idea what to do. Nobody lost and nobody won. People became burned out, and would rather go their separate ways than to burn not each other, but themselves out again.

It makes some people realize that we're just as bad as the politicians in our respective governing bodies. But I always thought this was pretty obvious anyways.

The worst part about dealing with issues though, is when one side is so adamant about their position and yet they won't provide any reasoning or reply to the other. On-lookers who don't even have the guts to admit and flat-out say "I don't know" can be just as bad.

Separation is what has the potential to destroy communities. But discussion and compromise is what can mend it back together. Arguing is not bad. It's how you go about it.

If it's still an option, I liked Dart's idea. Easy way to resolve conflict.

Yeah, we may have to. >.>
Even then, that doesn't guarantee that people are gonna follow through with it.

What's to keep somebody from going across all public outlets that are available to them to write in, or overwrite, their own rules or possessors of the Tailed Beasts that only they or a very small faction of RPers follow?

Proceeding into the grassy field from the opposite side, Kage would make his way in. His current attire was his usual, while some notable extra equipment he had been carrying were four sheathed Kōton Steel Wakizashi, strapped to a leather belt that had gone around the outside of his cloak, with two on each hip. Mounted upon his back was his usual Gunbai, which was slanted to the right, so as to allow the handle to stick out behind his right shoulder. This would allow for easy drawing and usage when needed. His eyes bore his Sharingan, which he used to gauge the enemy that had been thirty meters away directly in front of himself. For now he would simply wait for his opponent to make the first move, as he wasn't really much of the person to shoot first.

If we're talking about on an individual basis here, the greatest type of enforcement we could ever impose is recognition.

The listings of the Tailed Beasts is public information, and we heavily rely on these listings to know if people are legit if having these things. There's a list here on the forums and on the profile wiki, which we try to keep accurate and up-to-date all the time. If someone were to come along and say that they have this certain Tailed Beast, while the list says otherwise, then we wouldn't recognize that as being legit. To strip someone is to no-longer recognize them as being a holder of a Tailed Beast. This requires the community to participate in order to enforce this, as it is the community itself that enforces the ideal that somebody does not hold that Tailed Beast.

Voiding, to put it simply. For example's sake, if somebody claims to have the Eleven Tails, while somebody else is acknowledged to already have it, then people would have to void that fact about them. That doesn't mean we're voiding the person, but it just means we're not acknowledging that Tailed Beast-possessing status they claim to have. Of course this could elevate to simply not RPing with them, but that just isolates that one person even more.

Feature Requests / Re: New Village Proposition?
« on: October 13, 2015, 02:22:05 AM »
It's odd, and at the same time not odd that more people are voting in this thread.

The introduction of a new village into the village board system is sure to bring in many people from SL to the forums. In actuality though, it's just renaming the village board. It is the same area but with a different name designation. It'll have the display name be Uzushiogakure or Amegakure at the end of this poll, but perhaps in the actual coding, it'll still be named HiddenOto or Iwagakure.

This also shows that some people don't like to get too much into the logistics and argument aspect of RP. Mainly because they don't care, or would not like to face harassment of any kind, either the latter be intentional or not.

So far though, this poll has brought out 45 voters out of a theoretical 464. Wherever this poll goes one way or another, there is more than twenty people from each side who would still like the other village to get a village board as well. Perhaps more if voters for the opposite side is also willing to contribute. How it would be implemented is either renaming Jiseigakure, or creating a new village space for travel entirely for it.

So tell me, what's so unfair about it? From what I understand, it's just a suggestion. You guys are making it sound like they have to vote for one party. They are individuals, and can decide for themselves whether or not they want to vote in this. Some people I've asked say that they're voting for Uzu, which is fine with me. I don't ostracize, cut them off or look down upon them for that. It's their vote.

Tell me what I did wrong. Tell me what rules I broke.

Don't let your personal feelings or opinion for one side cloud your judgement in this. Even with the reasoning others and myself presented for Amegakure to get a village board first, it was ultimately decided that what results the poll brings is final. Even if Ame loses, I will be still be content. But that doesn't mean I won't be hoping to win too.

But if anything, I see this as an opportunity for more voices to be heard. The new forumers have a new-found power that they should be aware of. Their vote and voice. This extends in all aspects of the forum. For the longest time the elite have resided here to dictate RP, but now those who are flooding into our group have a name and voice they can use to express their opinions in what issues may come up.

....what voice? They have been degraded into robots following a command that they have no real opinion of. Who's to say this tactic won't happen again. You took a RP argument to the forums and need support? Message the robots!!! -_-

Humanity lost a point today. Well 2 points since both sides are going to have to do what they feel they must in order to win.

Some of these people may never visit the forum again for reasons we have all seen. There are DAYS I had to waste hours of gameplay just to support/refute an argument. I would not wish that upon newbies. I rather enjoy the game.
You could say that about politics in general. But we have a board for discussing that.

I do have to come forward and admit, there is some conspiring here.

The votes for Amegakure come from not only our village, but the people of Sunagakure and Konohagakure have been encouraged to vote for us as well. If that is what a conspiracy is, then yes, three villages have agreed to conspire in this vote for Amegakure. I do plan to ask for some support from other villages as well. But whether or not their people vote one way or another is ultimately up to each individual.

That's kinda messed up. >.>
I thought we were going to have a fair poll but I guess not.
That determines what it means for it to be fair. This is the only rules we have from Neji and Ace on this are as followed.

Added a poll to this ;)
Poll will the final verdict.
It seems as tough we like to make matters more complicated...

Progress should be the goal, followed by adjustments.

And times have changed.
We will curtail SL not from the past, but what current members want.
It is about the now and members currently playing SL. =)
Then there are other obvious unstated rules to follow as well, such as no creating SL alts to make forum alts to vote.

If you want to make things unfair though, we can say that only those from Uzu and Ame can vote. But this is an open poll, and anybody who has or is willing to make a forum account has a part in this, whether we like it or not.
