Naruto / Was the Eye of the Moon Plan (Tsuki no me) really that bad?
« on: October 07, 2015, 07:06:21 AM »
Well, let's look at it for a moment. So this was a genjutsu cast upon the world that basically let them live their wildest dreams and forever live in peace. The only problem really with it was that everyone lived their own individual dream, and no one was really connected. But, if everyone was eternally happy and there was peace throughout the world (at least for the people who saw it), would it really be that bad of a plan?

The whole tree siphoning people's chakra and turning them into Zetsus is a bad thing, but we have to remember that was a separate jutsu. So, was Naruto really the bad guy for stopping world peace and everyone's happiness?

Spam / What superpower does your character have?
« on: October 02, 2015, 04:57:14 AM »
Click on this link and see what super-power your character will gain. Then decide how it will benefit/hinder your character and make a short synopsis of what your character would do with that ability. Let's use the honor system, so no multi-clicking until you get something good. :)

Actually, Becquerel has something very similar to that already. If anything, it'll just make his matter teleportation device a bit safer for guests lol

Events / Random Ramen
« on: September 28, 2015, 08:55:05 PM »
Well, I was bored and thinking of a possible event in the forest because a new one might be nice and I thought of something that could probably be simple to do.

As you are exploring through the forest, you manage to find an extremely out-of-place ramen restaurant. (1,2)

1. Enter.
2. Leave.

1 - As you push aside the doorway curtain to enter the restaurant, you're greeted by an old man dressed as a chef standing behind a counter. There doesn't appear to be a menu anywhere as you take a seat at the bar. "Welcome! Welcome! I haven't had a guest in ages. Would you like me to cook you some ramen?" A devilish grin creeps up on the old man's face, but he seems genuinely interested in cooking. (3,4)

2 - You don't really trust a restaurant that doesn't have a name and is built in such a strange place, so you decided to keep going. As you walk away, you turn back for a moment to see that the restaurant is gone...Or maybe it was never there in the first place? Oh well, time waits for no one.

3. Order ramen. (Here is where you would pay some gold. I feel that it could be increase with level, just like the gypsy tent. Probably 20 for level 1, 40 for level 2, etc...)
4. Leave.

3 - After handing the chef your gold, he quickly begins preparing the bowl of ramen. You try to get a look at what he's adding to it, but his hands move far too fast as he adds spices and ingredients to the dish. Once he's done, he pours it all into a large bowl and sets it down in front of you. "Enjoy. I made it special just for you." Well, it looks alright at least. You dig in. (5)

4 - There's just something about this place and this man that makes you feel uneasy, so you politely refuse and leave the restaurant. As you walk away, you turn back for a moment to see that the restaurant is gone...Or maybe it was never there in the first place? Oh well, time waits for no one.

5. Continue.

5 - You eat up every last bit of the delicious meal, all under the smiling and watchful eyes of the cook. You've never tasted anything as amazing as this before! You are about to ask for seconds as you set the bowl back down, but your head starts to spin. "Did you like it?" Those were the last words you heard before falling backwards out of your chair as your vision fades. (READ BELOW)

At this point, I feel like there could be a 10% chance of death from this event, which would end up with As you fall backwards, you hit the back of your head on the corner of a table. Well, at least you were able to enjoy your last meal.

For the other 90%, you would basically be given a random buff/debuff. And I mean completely random with the selection coming from any of the buffs/jutsu/mounts/etc in the game. And it would last as long as it normally would. So you could end up with the Wet Ear debuff, the Kaiten jutsu for 10 turns, or even Kyuubi for the rest of the day. It would read something like, Eventually you regain consciousness and find yourself looking up at the sky feeling full. You sit up and look around, the restaurant is nowhere to be seen and your surrounded by woods. [As you stand up and go back into the forest, you feel as if you have gained a strange power.]
If I was given a list of all the buffs in the game, I wouldn't have an issue writing flavor text for each individual outcome to fill the [ ] space if something generic wouldn't be good enough.

So, is this a good idea?

Village Square / Story Arcs
« on: September 16, 2015, 08:09:24 PM »
Well, I'm just curious to how story arcs go around here. I remember a while back, there was a big battle that spanned Suna and Konoha. I was thinking of doing something similar starting in Oto. I think it'll be a fun thing to do and was wondering if people actually like those sorts of things. Gonna build something.

Village Square / What is and isn't retro-posting?
« on: September 08, 2015, 06:35:49 AM »
Well, because of that other topic (you know the one I'm talking about), I got to thinking what would be and what wouldn't be retro-posting. The example I posted was similar to as follows.
Quote
Ninja1 tosses two small, bladed disks at his opponent.
Ninja2 dodges the disks.
Ninja1: As the disks miss the opponent and get lodged in the tree behind him, they let out a quick beep before exploding. They weren't just regular bladed disks, they were also proximity mines packed with explosives.

Now, would that be considered retro-posting? Would it be wrong to post that disks embedded themselves in the trees? I know it would be if you were fighting in a desert plain, but if you were in a wooded area is it wrong to say there'd be a tree there? Because I think that a lot of people here pay attention to the little details of the posts, but forget about the settings and world around them. There's also a problem when it comes to hand-to-hand, but that's another topic lol

Here's another personal example, broken down to the key points.
Quote
Ninja1 created a cloud to hide himself in.
Becquerel dove into the cloud with intention to jump right through it and hopefully tackle his opponent.
Ninja1: The cloud was actually full of iron flakes that were imbued in a magnetic jutsu that would cause any subsequent jutsu to be unavoidable by Becquerel.

I had no problem with that at all, honestly. I expected the cloud to not to just be a cloud, but took that risk. And the RP was able to continue happily without issue. That's just a personal example.

What's the point of being a sneaky ninja if you tell your opponent everything you're going to do? If you post that you're throwing bombs (even though they're disguised), then that just means that you opponent WILL dodge accordingly instead of just possibly dodging in the least effort possible. If you lay all your plans out on a platter for the opponent, then shouldn't whoever posts first be the pre-determined loser if that were the case?

I just want to have a nice discussion on what is or isn't considered retro-posting. Please, no mud-slinging even if someone brings up an example involving you. And if you bring up examples, don't name names. That's just instigating trouble.

Spam / SL logic
« on: August 16, 2015, 07:37:13 AM »
Just came across an image and it gave me an idea for another spam topic. Post an image/phrase that makes no sense in reality, but would make perfect sense in SL.

Spam / Hair Battle
« on: August 14, 2015, 07:48:08 AM »
A game that tired me thought up of. Everyone who plays has to basically try to outdo the person before them. How do you outdo them? By posting better hair, of course! Just like in Anime, the person with the most/best/biggest hair wins. Also, post a sentence why your hair is the best hair. I'll start with easy mode.

No hair is best hair because people slip when they try to step on your head.

Game Related Discussions / Good and Bad ANBU
« on: August 11, 2015, 04:17:02 AM »
Everyone runs into the ANBU during this game, but depending on your nature and what village you're in will determine whether or not you'll fight them. I just recently encountered them in Oto and was surprised to see that they were the Good ANBU. Wouldn't it make sense for them to be Evil in that village?

Game Related Discussions / Your favorite game-related memory?
« on: August 05, 2015, 02:31:19 AM »
There seems to be a bit of an argument about whether this game was better 'back in the old days' or as it is now. Well, I don't want to hear about which way was better or who's right or anything else of the sort. What I want to hear about is everyone's best memories about this game. Maybe it was when you first became reborn? Maybe it was some RP event that affected your character(s)? Maybe it was a moment shared between you and another player (who may or may not still be here)? Regardless of what it was, I want to hear about it. Reminiscing is a good thing.

Spam / Create a jutsu!
« on: August 03, 2015, 01:47:15 AM »
This is the 6667th topic on the forums, so lets get away from all those 6s lol The rules of this game is we try to create the best jutsu ever. But you can only build off the last person's post one word at a time. No deleting at all.

For example, if I start with "Fireball no jutsu: Shoot a fireball" then you can enter a word wherever you want to power up this jutsu, but only one word. So you could do.
"Fireball Lightning no jutsu: Shoot a fireball." or "Fireball no jutsu: Shoot a fishy fireball."
No limits to what you put, but we got to make sure we make the most powerful jutsu ever (and then ban it from being used in SL for how OP it is lol)
Let's go.

Fireball no jutsu: Shoot a fireball.

Naruto / Boruto One-Shot

Spam / Sentence swapper
« on: July 27, 2015, 12:10:25 AM »
Okay, here's a different game. I will post five sentences, if you edit all of them, you're only able to make ONE edit in each sentence. This means you can either change a letter, delete a letter or add a letter. The only rule is that whatever you change, still needs to make a word. If you only edit one sentence, you can change only ONE WORD in that sentence to any other word you want.

EXAMPLE: The quick brown fox. -----> The quick brown fax.

The sentence doesn't need to make sense, but it still needs to be a word. It's kind of like the telephone game, if you ever played that as a kid. Let's see what we can make in the end.

1. The city of New York contains over one hundred million billion brain cells.
2. Monday sounds good for the meeting.
3. I expect him to come to the party tomorrow.
4. There is no reason to get so upset about it.
5. He is apparently an expert on dogs.

Konohagakure has no special relations to Ninja Central.
Konohagakure is at bad terms with Kirigakure.
Konohagakure is allied with Sunagakure.
Konohagakure is hostile towards Otogakure.

Does this stuff actually mean anything? Only thing I guessed it does is determine which type of ANBU you encounter in the forest. Am I wrong? Or is there something else?

Spam / Association Game
« on: July 18, 2015, 10:48:05 PM »
How about we play a game? I'll post an image from the internet, and the next poster posts another image that can be associated with it and how it associates. And so on and so on. For example, if I posted a picture of a carrot, the next person could post a picture Carrot Top because of his orange hair/name. Or you could post a cabbage, and say they're vegetables.
Please keep it clean, there are rules on this forum after all. To start with, here you go.

Naruto / Naruto Gaiden: Chapter 9
« on: June 25, 2015, 08:08:11 AM »
http://www.mangareader.net/naruto-gaiden-the-seventh-hokage/9

Looks like old Shin is some sort of knock-off Magneto. Salad and Sakura aren't completely worthless. And it's cool to see Sasuke go all out from the start and not following typical manga rules of resorting to using 'that' technique towards the end.
