Village Square / Re: Using juts without a heart
« on: June 01, 2017, 03:21:35 PM »
If he still has a nervous system, he will still be able to move around for a time. As to whether he'll still be able to perform jutsu - his ability to do so will be severely diminished because as Shadow noted, the heart holds a large portion of the person's chakra. Depending on how the fight has gone thus far (I haven't been following), Athos may or may not have already used a significant portion of his chakra. If he has, then he'll be even worse off.

In the second Naruto Fanbook, Kishimoto stated that one thing that could kill Hidan was malnutrition. Well, using a little SCIENCE! we can see that without a heart, Athos will eventually lose the fight. Why? Cellular respiration.

Without a heart pumping blood through Athos' body, there's no way to transport oxygen to different parts of his body. The blood is just going to pool in his extremities. No blood circulation means no diffusion of new oxygen molecules across cell membranes throughout his body. No new oxygen molecules means no production of ATP (the "energy" source that the body uses for everything). No ATP means no movement, no speaking, no production of chakra, nothing.

In the case of malnutrition and starvation: The two things you need to  produce ATP (technically there's more things you need, but they're intermediate products in the entire cellular respiration process that are produced from oxygen and glucose) are glucose (the carbohydrate we get from foods) and oxygen. No glucose, you still can't produce ATP.

This is a grossly simplified explanation, but it serves its purpose. SCIENCE, BITCH!

To be fair, science can't really be applied to this situation :o Mainly due to the fact that Hidan was a severed head and still cursing up a storm. That should be impossible considering there's no lungs for air to go into and out of. And I don't remember exactly the damage done, but if he didn't have his larynx then it shouldn't be possible for him to make noise at all either. And the whole thing about blood could be thrown out the window too because in my personal experience, severed carotid arteries usually result in unresponsiveness in about 10-15 seconds. Because Hidan was still wide awake and angry the whole time when he should be unconscious, you can't really use blood as an argument. :P So in the end, it's a manga so it's all silly ninja magic.

I'm going to start using Nuclear energy.
Bec could hook you up with that :P

And I still don't understand how people can quantify abstract concepts lol

Even if ultimately no guidelines or regulations are deemed desired by the community, I still suggest those who dab in these alternate sources consider the scenarios of such. If your demonic energy fire is going to surpass Amaterasu and say engulf it like Amaterasu can do to normal Fire Release, how does it do it? Does it require more of the demonic energy to be used than is currently in the Amaterasu's flames to do such in your classic energy tug-a-war kamehameha versus kamehameha deal? Does it have some special property which attempts to weaken other energies for some reason?

Why not just do whatever makes most sense in regards to whatever story you have in mind? :)
Unless you're talking about 'competitive', because then I have no idea nor care lol
And as for me, I kind of have magic kind of rated as its own thing compared to chakra. Same with spiritual stuff because it only makes sense to me. But then again, I've only RPd with two characters who use magic and one was Hobbygobby who gave Bec a tool to utilize magic. But Bec's still studying that one :P

I just figure that all alternate energy sources are equal to chakra. So Ki = Chakra = Demonic Energy = Etc...So any clashes should just end up like two normal things. I'm with the other's on the rule thing too. All the quantifying that goes on is something that really puts a black hole next to the fun for me, so I just try to go with the flow...But at the same time, when I see something I don't really agree with then I just decide that I won't RP with that person :) I might try a little bit to work with them, but I do put my foot down occasionally when it comes to what I accept and what I don't.

Village Square / Re: The power of an NPC
« on: May 22, 2017, 03:50:41 PM »
All my NPCs have strong points and weak points :) Honestly, they're fleshed out enough to be full-fledged characters...But I would never have enough time to manage all those forest fights! lol

But when it comes to NPCs I generate, either as a permanent status or situational, I try to come up with at least some kind of back-story to them to dictate their personalities and actions...Even if their backstory may never come up in my time being here. But as for power-levels for my permanent NPCs (that are fighters), I try to make them on the same level as player characters so they could at least go toe-to-toe, if not a bit weaker. But even if they may be a bit weaker, they're each specialized in their own way.

But then again, I'm not the kind of person who thinks NPCs should just be fodder for players to kill willy-nilly because they're 'useless'. Even if a few nondescript villagers get killed off, something will either happen because of it.

In reality, this story is just going to be a bunch of people constantly editing the Divine Tree wikia page so that they are the owners over and over, leaving passive aggressive comments in the notes section until a mod gets involved and locks the page.
Rusaku: "And that's how I won my Pulitzer prize."

lol But Bec is kind of similar in personality but he's just happy to be around. Which will be a while considering he has a battery life of two solar lifetimes :P

You could use Becquerel if you ever have a need for an android like him lol This is just a little game after all :)

Rules/Foundation / Re: Crazy Bijū Handling Idea
« on: May 03, 2017, 02:53:45 PM »
I think that if the beasts were put into that situation, there'd only be half-jinks and you could only have one 'bijuu' power at a time I guess. But I think that each one would basically give you a different ability. Meaning 8tails would be ink, 2tails would be blue flames, etc. I don't really know but that's why we're having these talks :) (plus, I just got off shift so I'm about to go to sleep lol)

And I think regardless of the choice made, people will seek out loopholes. Also, Ray, I think that the 0 tails would be like the Gedo or even my Mecha-Kurama. Not really an official bijuu, so I guess it could still either belong to one person as it is now, or be given an official 'domain'.

If there is no trial or anything and people just up and talk to the tailed beast, how is that more special than an in-game GM creating a random character and having it do the same thing? Are they not RP authorities enough to be able to do that and have the interaction recognized?

In my opinion, if Dart's idea were to become the new norm, that would mean that pretty much anyone would be able to dip into a beast's powers depending on the village they're part of. For fairness sake, it might have to change that people hold onto 'passives' when they master a beast because they'd only be able to master the one that is part of the village they're aligned to. This could also generate more intravillage RP because it'd be more difficult for a 'rogue' ninja to exist if they don't have any bijuu buff on their side, meaning more people might make alignments towards villages.

And as for RPing with the beast, I don't see why it can't be a kind of mount myoboku within the village that takes you there. Maybe like some sort of special space/time doorway that leads you to the bijuu? :o So it'd be easy for villagers to access it but more difficult for an attacking village to get to it. They'd have to go after someone high-ranking or well versed in order to find out where the doorway is hidden or how to unlock it.

Then I'd have to kick him off my couch. Last I checked you people still have that 'everybody has to be challengeable/findable' shtick, doesn't really work when he hangs up there with me, unless Bec builds somebody a rocket and space suit.

Just so you know, my space adventures have been pretty limited :) And no one ever asked to go on any trips either.

3) I don't like that idea. Means that too many false villages would pop up just so someone can call themselves a 'kage and then attack for the bijū in question.

I'd like to just say that I think that villages that are nothing more than clans should get the opportunity to 'take over' a bijuu. For example, if Otogakure has the 1-tails and three ninja from Motogakure attack the village and manage to steal it from Otogakure, then they should have be able to have it assigned to their village. Allowing that might allow for more roleplay to happen within each clan, which could greatly help those 'villages' without actual boards like we all have.

Rules/Foundation / Re: Limiting Bijuu Ownership (Discussion)
« on: April 29, 2017, 09:23:05 AM »
TL;DR: The beasts are not the only problem its the RPers as well.
I really agree with you, Ray. Personally, I've pretty much decided to stay away from the whole Bijuu scene besides the creation of the Mecha-Kurama to help protect Otogakure. But personally, I don't care if there's one owner for each one or one owner for all of them. I probably won't really interact seriously with either of them anyway :P But I do hope that the problem gets solved because listening to all of this stuff makes me want to stop playing sometimes lol

Village Square / What do you think of players who 'claim' things?
« on: April 29, 2017, 01:21:28 AM »
I mean this in regards to players who might claim to have something that's 'official' but owned by someone else. Like, some new player who claims to have a certain item or bijuu. Personally, to facilitate RP, I just play with them as if they have it. :) From my experience, they most likely won't hang around for too long anyway. So I'm more concerned about making their stay as fun as I can. So what do you guys do?
