How many votes can a council member miss or not participate in before action can be taken by his/her colleagues for immediate removal?

With anything, no one is forcing anyone to do something that requires an extra bit of effort. So, I would hope people step down, but time and time again, we know that doesn't happen. Inactivity permeates with staff, and I have done my part to address that behind the scenes, and it has and it will exist with the council. So, let's get real and address the issue and solve it now.

Thoughts? Brief and to the point please. I'll be putting this up for a vote in the coming week. Stay silent and that will be on you-- don't complain later on, thanks!

Council / Council Vaccancy

What do you guys think is the most appropriate action if a council member steps down before an election is held? After we get some solid ideas, we can discuss the details about, "what if someone steps down 1 week before elections, etc.." Happens in politics a lot, appointments-- so their majority or ideology/legacy remains.

We need to get this done before the next council, please.
My general thoughts, if someone steps down simply have the council appoint.
Reason, we generally take a couple of weeks with elections anyway-- too long for a vacant seat.

I have absolutely no objections though if a better idea is proposed to streamline the process.
I will put this up for a vote in the coming week, so let's get this done. =)

Thoughts (?), brief responses please...

Provided the Council remains active and does something, I can create a forum board for them.
Now, the board will be visible to everyone (!), ensuring transparency is kept.

I would create the main board, where EVERYONE can post, and a subsequent child board that only council members can post. This ensures minimal spam and nuisance from both sides of the isle.

What do you all think? If I see interest, I'll make them... if not, I won't. =)

Hello Everyone,

With this board being view-able to all now, I would like to simply recommend this.
Anyone is able to create voting or discussion topics of course, but when voting topics are created, the deadline should be 10 days.

After 10 days, the voting topic is closed, and the majority opinions wins the vote.

Do not be hindered by others' inactivity. Keep progress going! =)
Everyone has a choice to make. No one is being forced to do anything, so if people do not vote, that will be their own decision.

Simply a reminder.

After we have our "finalized list" of approved rules/regulations, we should re-visit any topics anyone wants to discuss.
So, anyone will be able to call for a re-vote.

The re-vote may be for purposes just to ensure votes are double checked, or to approve an edit.

I will announce timelines for this when it is time. I assume it will be another two months before we get there...

Hello Everyone!

I am experimenting with this idea, let's see how this works.
For any issue we debate, create a topic.

Time and time again, after 10 and 20 pages of one topic addressing multiple smaller issues from a larger one, everything simply gets lost. It becomes difficult to track votes as we try to works towards tallying up numbers, and more increasingly difficult when everyone wants to share their opinion in one post.

Here, we only provide our votes with an explanation. <--- generally, one post per member in voting threads.

Yes, you may change your votes if you are swayed the other way. Why? Because sometimes voting threads are created before discussion threads or one of us failed to see a good point made by the other side.

EDIT: If most of us agree on a multiple things, we may present the vote in a batch, not individually to save time! :D
