Council / Re: Where does the Sub fit in the 2:5 ratio?
« on: August 18, 2017, 01:54:52 AM »

Well, given that substitutes are just that, they have equal right as anyone else to pursue beasts if they please. So substitutes' status as being on one side of the ratio or other are subject to change endlessly while they may never actually hold a council seat.

In that case, it makes more sense to me that the 2:5 ratio be considered a limit rather than a fixed ratio (Unless I'm mistaken, it's already the case that we do not require two council members to have bijū in their possession, simply that we could not have more than two of them in council seats). And in that case, we simply allow substitutes to sub in if they do not exceed the limit, and prevent them from doing so if it would violate the rule.

Of course, it remains a potential problem (especially with only one substitute) that we need to call upon an alternate and all (one) of them may exceed the limit. But regardless, either we would be put in the position of needing to go seeking for a beast-less volunteer. I think that just is the reality and I don't think changes to the rules will produce an end-all solution to the issue of maintaining a cohort balanced between players with and without beasts.

I will volunteer to continue, as I've finally been able to return to being active again.

Council / Re: What to do with Isobu 3 Tails - Council
« on: July 22, 2017, 09:36:31 PM »
Saiteki gets Isobu, she has a week to seal it and after that a two-week cool down will engage from the date of sealing. <- This is what will be happening if the other council members agree to it. (My vote is for Saiteki)

If anyone else has any more comments to input or grievances to address, please do so.

I agree.

Bugreports / Re: Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan(Bugs list)
« on: July 04, 2017, 11:01:51 PM »
So since we know this was rolled out, I'd figure we make this a collective effort to find any and all bugs on what we see.

1) Under buffs, EMS is listed twice, but one is not spaced
Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan
EternalMangekyō Sharingan

List to be updated when known
Fixed

Mangekyou Sharingan disappears after failing EMS event. Fixed

Old specialty showing up as "Special Abilities" after obtaining EMS. Fixed

Ridiculous chakra buff (double player's current chakra pool) from EMS. Fixed

Susanoo buff being called "Susanoo Sharingan". Fixed

Not being able to use Amaterasu & other Sharingan & Mangekyou Jutsu after activating EMS. Fixed

I don't think they will be anymore bugs with EMS.

Follow-up to Xia's note: It does not appear twice now, but the one that does appear is still missing the space ("EternalMangekyō").

Council / Re: Council Members as Judges, Pt. 2
« on: January 22, 2017, 08:24:55 AM »
I think, unless I misunderstood something, that what people are saying is that it should be the whole community discussing council members as judges and voting to change the current rule.

It should not be a council-only vote to change a rule which impacts what we are or are not able to do.

Council / Council Members as Judges, Pt. 2
« on: January 20, 2017, 01:06:07 AM »
I will try to be brief and concise here. I am presenting facts for the sake of clarity. The goal of this topic is to generate discussion. It is not intended as a criticism to any council members.

As you can see here, http://forum.shinobilegends.com/index.php/topic,8692.0.html, a decision was previously made in a 6:9 vote that council members can not judge biju matches.

At some point, this rule was forgotten and/or the new cohort was not made aware of it. Trev has judged many fights, and Shadow was the judge for at least one; a fight between Athos and Trev. I had forgotten about the rule myself, and seeing Trev and Shadow as judges never made me suspicions, I just ended up assuming council members were allowed to judge.

Athos had Shadow removed as the judge for his fight with Trev. Athos and Trev asked me to judge. I initially accepted. Before I had made any decisions, the thought occurred to me that it might be against the rules after all. I checked, and found the somewhat forgotten vote. Athos and Trev have now moved on to find a different judge so that I do not break any rules.

I messaged the council. Some confirmed that, to the best of anyone's knowledge, the decision that was voted on has not been changed. Others pointed out that council members have been serving as judges anyway, some stating that they personally do not mind.

I had voted that council members could serve as judges. Therein, I recognize that I am biased. However, I think if two people agree on a judge because they think that person is fair, then that's their agreement.

Acknowledging my own perspective, but also taking into consideration the variety of responses I received from other council members, I just wanted to bring this to light, and begin a discussion about whether we (as a community) think that council members should be prevented from judging or if the vote should be changed because people might prefer council members be able to judge.

As for my vote on the current matter. I would say add it to the rules. It's shown you can't do both in the manga, and a rule needs to be added as it is not common knowledge. You need mastery, or your biju has to be pretty pissed off at your opponent.

I don't agree that the rule should be applied to Rinnegan users, as they don't have evidence to support such a claim.

Edited some parts of Trev's post. The rest reflects my opinion on the matter.

There's already a majority, but I would also vote Synth. Athos should be specifying which character he would be using, but it sounds like that was covered already.

Yes, give to Kamui.

Did something like eight years of Tae Kwon Do / Tong Soo Do at a Korean temple. Got to 1st Dan and then left with a bunch of the other black belts when we got to the point that other things in life needed to take priority and we didn't have enough time to dedicate moving up any farther. Got to do a lot of special weapons training, which was really cool.

@ Those who have pointed out my lack of activity:

I am still here. I log in regularly, check out clan stuff on the main site, make sure the hot wiki stuff (beasts/claims) are updated, and read all forum posts.

I am fully up to date, despite not necessarily hanging around for hours, because I am at university and don't have hours to shoot the breeze here, much as I might like to.

In some threads asking for thoughts/opinions, there are times when I am indifferent and therefore don't say anything. I believe in speaking for constructive purposes. If I can't contribute something useful, why waste space with a comment, yeah?

If there is a vote called for, I vote.

tl;dr I log in. I am here. I am active. Even if you and I don't personally have hour-long conversations when I pop in.

Council / Re: Bijuu Council Decision: Nine Tails Challengers
« on: December 07, 2016, 05:27:40 PM »
As others have pointed out, Genesis' challenge was issued first, and the topic name of his thread and first post were adequate. Nothing about it initially seemed like a joke.

I get joking with friends, and I will say that I think it's dumb that a challenge post turned into a unnecessarily long thread that did not deal with the topic material. There's certainly a better ways to do things, but Genesis' initial challenge was still valid.
