Title: Changing Race

I suggest that race choosing after every Oro kill be removed & the potion at the pub be changed or removed.

Instead, players can only change their race when they reset for kekkai genkai or by visiting a black market merchant which will make them a new forehead protecter & a fake ninja registration of your chosen country.

This however, will not come cheap. It will cost players 30 gems + 250,000 gold and can only be done once per Oro kill.

Gyu, honestly, this seems rather unfair.
Some countries have *wink wink* Special things *wink wink* that would mean either only that country, definitely not that country.
And since with all the resets, most people don't have enough turns to go back and forth between countries.

to be able to chance your race at every time you want to makes the game even more unrealistic. another thing would be the war. by changing your race you would easy be able to join or avoid war. and i guess there are plenty of additional reasons.

and about these special things.. you just have to build a strategy how to use your turns and travels.. and decide if "special thing" is worth the invested turn(s). no big deal. it just promotes strategical gameplay and "skill".

Meh...I see no real problem with the way things are now. If people want to join some war or another that will result in hefty losses for themselves(I know how you work, Neji...), let them.

Is a sand nin thats my favorite but yea certain races hold "advantages" over others...

Hm, it could be agreeable.

So far, no "vital" things like can't/can get are attached to the races (my knowledge is not thorough, though).

But the + or - are not visible at the point of choice. It's like "test them all out".

I *can* remove the race setting, no bigger deal.

That would be interesting. Perhaps you can only make a race once. completely? All that leave their village can be sent into a 'missing' category, and have to over EXP to get the trainers attention to attack them, and that would be how they level up. The boost for being a Missing is is that you gain additional attack like a Sound nin does.

I liked your idea Gyu

It would be more challenging if the ANBU or somebody founds out that the new ninja registration that the black market merchant did is a fake.  :twisted:

Yes, but if Oliver decides to do changes to the races, he would have to edit all other modules that are connected to it as well. Simply too much trouble.

Hmm.....I still like your idea Gyu. Let me piggie-back my revised idea off of yours.  So instead of it being one can not change their race until getting a kekkei genkai or reset, let's say it can only be done in increments of 5 or 10.  Therefore the race specific modules that Neji has in place don't have to be changed. 
By implementing the five to ten increment rule for villages, the battle lines for a war would be drawn and would make it much harder for shinobis to change sides in the middle of a war and one would be showing loyalty to their village by remaining it for at least 5 DKs depending on your title, (the less experienced you are 'academy student, genin, jounin, hunter nin' you must stay with your race for 5 DKs anything higher requires 10 DKs).   

How the 'War' is made:
A war in essence is made by the number of people in each race/village.  There will be a set amount of lost PVP's that a race can take, if that amount is reached then there will be a declaration for war between the races. 

Determining a Winner:
When war is declared, the race with the most PVP victories against their opponents in a one month span wins.  The one month time frame is used so that wars don't happen each week, but instead are a long event or should I say mission (since so many people have been asking for missions). To add a little of spirit to the war, I would like a timer of how many days are left for the war.   

Benefits to Winning War:
In a clan vs clan war, nothing is truly accomplished and we have seen both clans believe that they ended up winning the war because there was no clear cut winner. By using a PVP counter we will have a concise winner.  The winning race would get the benefit of all its members receiving a 'Spoils of War Buff'. 
In contrast the losing organization would get the negative buff, "Art of Discord".  Neither buff is really powerful, it is more of a pride thing to be honest.  Although both buffs last 40 rounds. 

FAQ:
There are no captains of an race/village, no treaties, if two villages don't want to go to war, then I would advise them not to PVP each other, or eventually they will reach the PVP ceiling for a declaration of war.  That includes villages in the anime that may be allies (Fire and Sand). 

Although it would be a good idea to have a special hideout or place where village members can strategize a plan to win a war, it would in essence be just another place for possible spoilers, or another room for mods to have to check in to make sure nothing is be done wrong, in other words it would be adding to the moderators hassle.  To solve this problem, it would be better for members of each village to establish an off-line forum for members of their respective village and discuss plans to win the war.   

There will be no visible counter of how many PVPs a race/village has while in a war, this only adds to the suspense of who is ahead in PVPs. 

Finally, the winning race/village in a war will have it posted in the 'Daily News Area'. 

****Please keep in mind that in order to break the increment rule, as Gyu stated in previous posts, one would have to pay an substantial price in order to change their forehead protector.  :roll:

Wildcard
In paying for your forehead protector to jump ship to another race/village, there is a wildcard.  Very much like the person who works on your sword or armor, he might be able to do a fantastic job on your forehead protector or his work might be well.......crappy ;) 
If it is crappy (which is possible) you would still gain access to your new race but only temporarily before the paint starts to run off your forehead protector.  Which would bring about a one way trip to the graveyard, when you run into the ANBU (of any village).

For those that might want to complain that paying so much gold and gems, for something that could be made shoddy: 
Why would you give so much money to a stranger? 
Why switch races when you know its a deadly gamble?
Other have paid 100 gems for access to hidden places, why cry over 30 gems?  :roll:

hmm its a good idea..but if you are going to die for sure at some point and spend 30 gems for something temporarily..why do it?

There is a chance that your forehead protector is crappy, the majority of times the work will be fine.  However, nothing is 100%.  There has to be a chance that the work is shoddy even if it's only 10%.  If one happens to fall into the 10% shoddy work, then the person should hope they never run into the ANBU.  If you fall into the 90%, where the work is done well, then they have nothing to worry about even when they run into the ANBU.  Giving the 30 gems is a gamble, but your chances are good at least.   ;)

Don't make me repeat myself. Making this too complex (too interesting) will be troublesome when Oliver wants to change the race or put in new ones. This is not an event! So keep it simple!

1) The 5/10 Dks thingy will make things harder to code.

2) Your idea war idea involves the pvp module, mine doesn't (in the village attack thread). Compare the two & tell me which one is better. We all know that players are complaining about PVP not being fair, Sannin being beaten by a Chuunin and so on.

3) Your idea involves too many other modules.

3) Your idea involves too many other modules.
I like both ideas.  Gyu or really Sonia's idea is more on the small scale and Shikamaru's idea is more on the big scale.  Which one is better is really up to anyone's opinion.  I personally like Shikamaru's idea because it involves everyone from academy students to master hokages to peeps with kekkei genkai.  At the same time, if it can't be done it can't be done due to coding.   

It seems that if you two could stop shooting down each other ideas and work together we could have some really good stuff since both of you have great ideas. Gyu spends a fair amount of time coming up with great ideas and the rest of her time bashing everyone else's ideas.  Like this the worst idea I've heard of ever, this is the loser of the month idea, there's no need for this thread.
Shikamaru is the same, he has no teamwork, but he doesn't bash ideas.  Get it together!
