Title: A new mod for the village square section.
Post by: Bocchiere on October 31, 2014, 05:43:03 AM
Since Kay was removed and Zenaku seems to not have an intention to cease his inactivity I feel like we should appoint another person to the position. I'm still unclear as to why Kay was removed but I think we should have another active person like her to be a mod for that section, considering the high number of topics that are made there regarding the in's and out's of rp and all sorts of arguments, discussions, etc.

No I'm not nominating myself. I just wanted to get this idea out there and see if it catches on anything.

Why don't we just bring Kay back then?

Yeah well...I liked trying to take care of things.

But perhaps others feel I get too mouthy and stuff.

You would have to take it up with Neji.

Kay as I understand was removed from being too 'biased' at least that's what I think was the reason. I actually have no clue.

Anywho, someone who is active would be nice. A number of people are active, however, you have to then think who is also unbiased and won't lock threads like they're a new god. (This is in no way relevant to Kayenta)

So active AND unbiased? No one.

That's because humans are biased..
I seriously think I would be a good fit for this. I'm really disinterested in acting out with any sort of power on the forums because it's a website for a game I play. I have a life and the ability to prioritize, and asserting myself as a mod who can do what I want is not on that list of priorities.

I think I deserve a shot at this unless you guys have reasons why not.

Isn't Kamui still around? However he is onl one person so yeah.

I know it sounds off-putting to elect one's self but I think I'd also like to give it a try. I believe if it is being baise that reflects what is need then I am probably one of the most at SL. I believe in playin fair not favorites. That I way I have spoken out or disagreed with the action of close friends and comrades before in favor or my enemy.

I also think the I host a pretty decent understanding and knowledge of the Naruto world.

I could do it, i'm pretty unbiased i'd like to think.
But that'd be on you guys.
I'm crazy active, I find myself sitting around on both the game/forum waiting for things to do, so that would definitely help me fill my time.

Quoting Zenaku himself, he's at least trying to solve his inactivity issue, I've seen him online for a few moments now and then lately too. Whether that'd extend onto the forums too though, not a clue.

What comes to looking for a possible new mod though, I'll second Shadow on that, there is no such saint person on the site really. I too can confess to outright detesting a number of people and or their habits >>; even if I can sometimes suck it up and give opinions when judging or such whatnot is needed.

I agree that Kirk or Sabu would be a good choice.

The thread creator also has the ability to lock threads. Granted, they usually are very lax regarding this privelage, but I am putting that out there as a note.

As far as names that have come up, I would probably attempt to re-nominate Kay. If that were not an option, I would, regardless of how it sounds, nominate myself.

I will not claim to be somewhat baised at times, but I can claim that I tend to strike for the matter. I have a very decent handle on the forum's operations (at least from an abstract applications level). The only issue I suppose is whether the mod can participate in discussions or not. Because yall know how I like to participate in discussions.  8)

Errbody be nominating themselves.

Anywho IF a new mod is to be put in it's likely going to be a past mod (Kayenta) or a mod on the game site who will be assigned a forum mod as well.

Not me, I hate all your arguing and would lock all your threads even at the slightest hint of people being mean. I'd be be overly zealous!

I'd say Kay should be given it back (assuming she wants it back and that she wasn't removed for a serious reason).

I would perfectly fine with someone like Kay coming back into moderator status, I just put my name out there as an alternative

Everyone knows I'm the only obvious choice.
I'm not biased and I've forgiven Bocch countless times, even when he got on my accounts and changed my password.

Won't nominate myself because there is already a Raikage who's a mod of the forums.

If it came down to a vote, I would re-nominate Kay. I didn't see any issue with her being there and if the reason was for being biased...basically everyone is biased in their own way even myself.

The reason was not that I was biased.

What happened was I was trying to get the Bijuu issue over the Kyuubi resolved. The topic thread was locked by another mod cause of a petition a reader made due to inflammatory content.

However, the offending author was not re-educated, chastised, or contacted in any manner whatsoever. In my opinion, the issue was not handled but shoved under the rug.

I came on, the author actually thought I had locked the thread when I had not. I reprimanded him and told him to make some edits and stop being so hateful. Then I unlocked the thread so he could clean up his act.

As I was making a post to the topic to explain how to behave and to warn everyone to stop acting like this...as well as to edit out the numerous paste copy of the hateful words...no sense in him editing it if it was just gonna be quoted in 7 others replies...another mod came and locked the thread.

I pm'd this mod to ask what was up, that I was handling the issue. that mod did not deal with the author or even respond to me. SO I dropped it. Another mod told the author that they were not allowed to tell him why the thread was locked.

We were never allowed to finish discussing what to do about the kyuubi and Zenaku, Bocc claimed it for his own. The next day Neji removed me from the forum as mod saying it was an over sight and now I would not have the stress of too much work in my life.

SO...
Shadow? When you admit freely to not knowing WHY something happened? Please refrain from slandering me with your speculations as to some imagined character flaw in my persona being the truth. I think that I am doing quite a lot to be fair and deal with people I personally do not agree with nor approve of their actions. Unlike some others, I don't have to like you to agree with what is right or wrong when it effects you. It offends me deeply to be accused of something when it is simply not true. My faults are many, you hardly have to invent more for me.

The way I see it is I got in trouble for daring to correct a situation, to bother communicating with the perpetrator in an attempt to rectify an issue, instead of just sweeping it under the rug.

I would love to continue to do my work here on the forum. That is never gonna be permitted.

But some mod needs to unstick the Eric and Seraph thread and stick the Eric and Ichirou bijuu thread in the village square.

I hardly think I need to be unbiased to act like a secretary.

She was only doing her job and was apparently removed because of that (after adding another excuse to that).

Though at this point, I believe it's pretty solid on who people want back in the mod position in the forum. Who knows if any of our words with take place.

Kayenta has my vote.

As I see only upvotes and no other real candidates (hope I didn't skip any) I'll give Kayenta the mod rights back for the board  ;)
