Shadow leaned on the gunwale of the ship with his forearms while his hands swayed slowly off the side. His gaze was set to the East as the sun colored the sky a beautiful array of colors. He was waiting for the rest of the 'crew' to get here and they needed to with haste. The sooner they set sail the greater the amount of water they could cover while taking advantage of the ample wind.

[-----------Ship Description-----------]

The brunneous color of the ships mahogany shell was linked to that of the tattered dark sails that wavered in the winds of the sea. Accompanying the already demeaning theme were seven coal colored canons on each side of the ship underneath the main deck. The deckhouse jutted upward from the foredeck and steeped into a curve over the waters. Under the deckhouse was a pure metallic naval ram shaped to resemble that of an axe head.

The Machinist made his way toward the ship that was soon to set sail. He had caught word of an expedition to the east, and couldn't help but join up. He was sure that the spoils of the trip would be rich, whether in materialistic items or in knowledge. Either way he knew he would regret it if he didn't come along.

As he arrived at the port, he set the large bag that he was carrying down for a moment to make sure that his Bandanna was securely tightened before recovering the bag from the ground and throwing it over his shoulder, making his way to and onto the ship, looking for the one who was responsible for the start of this expedition. He spotted him leaning on the gunwhale, and made his way over to him. "Evening, should I call you captain?" he chuckled as he recovered a smoke from his pack, that was tucked away in his pocket. He grabbed a lighter from the other side, "You mind?" he respectfully asked, before lighting the smokery.

Shadow expelled a small 'heh' from his mouth at the mans playful question as he turned to face him. Already dressed for the part Shadow thought to himself as he looked over Ichirou. This was good for him as he didn't want to spend time wasting on explaining pirate dress code. At the second question Shadow shrugged lightly and moved his right hand sideways with a weak flick of his wrist. "During the time we are on this ship we will be masquerading as a pirate crew. So the answer is yes to both questions. The more you act like one the better. So long as it doesn't undermine the intentions of this trip."

His eyes moved over to look upon the bag he brought with him. "What items did you bring along with you? We have to make sure supplies are in stock before we set sail."

Ichirou lit his cigarette, returning the lighter to his pocket before replying, "Well, captain it's loaded with a bit of this and that. A few weeks worth of emergency rations, just in case. Plenty of drinkable water to go along with that. Outside of that it's mostly some of my mechanical contraptions. Item launchers and things of the like. Figured i'd make sure I had some nice artillery to bring along on the trip, just in case we needed it." he puffed on the cigarette as he spoke. "Are we to run this ship by ourselves? Or do you have a crew on board with you, you know. Below the deck and what not." he chuckled a bit. Finding humor in their masquerade, even though it was an understandable one, and one he would take more seriously once they had actually set sail.

Nodded as Ichirou spoke. "Good. The extra artillery will come in handy as sea warfare is heavily reliant on it. As will the extra rations of food and water. I stocked the ship's stores already so we'd only need yours if something happened to them."

He patted the wood of the ship. "Right now it's you and I until the rest of the crew arrives. It won't be more than a small group on this trip. Good thing the ship will mostly run itself without our help. Only thing we need worry about most is the path to get there."

"Well that's good to hear, Who's gonna navigate this birdy?"he inquired as he  finishe his cigarette, wrapping incinerating it with Katon chakra and leaning upon the gunwhale as well. "I've got a nack for explosives, I can pre-prepare some highly volatile -but safe to us of course- loads for our cannons, provided we have any. I'm just assuming." he offered up more of his expertise to make sure that they would have a safe trip. Especially with a small team, the threats of the Ocean were big and small alike and Ichirou surely didn't intend to get swallowed up in them. Not now not never.

Pirate cover. It had been ages since she had donned her swashbuckler's gear and taken to the seas. While the winds in the sands were powerful and could offer one the thrills of adventure that a heart may desire, the winds of the sea were filled with flavors that heralded back to her homeland and youth. She had packed her things and headed out to the port city as swift as she could make arrangements. Taking lodgings, she spent one last night upon dry land resting through the night after a hearty meal. That next day she opened a scroll and activated the seal that produced her attire for the occasion from its weaves. Ever the fan of traveling light, she carried most of her belongings within several scrolls. After packing up, taking some breakfast, and settling her bill, she would leave the inn and proceed to the docks.

The long walk gave her reason to recall why she preferred to go barefoot; her knee-high, hard-soled boots she currently wore felt heavy and confining. Still, they did give her an odd swagger that caused her open overcoat of dark brown hues to flounce a bit about her legs as she walked. Even though her hair was plaited into numerous long braids with those about her face gathered at the back of her head to avoid obscured vision, something that had taken her hours to accomplish, it still hung down to the small of her back. From time to time one could see the long bladed dagger she kept belted at her left hip; the scabbard of which was strapped to her thigh remained secure so as not to bounce about or get caught on things during movement. For a blouse she had chosen a loose fitting cotton shirt of tan that was tucked into the black trousers that would complete her attire. There too would be tucked in, though to the tops of her old and well worm boots. Eventually she caught sight of the ship heading directly to the gangplank. The vessel was just as described and a quick awakening of her sensory ability told her that Shadow was on board.

The gang plank bounced slightly from the weight of her person in rhythm to the gait she used and as she came to the top she would grab the rail and halt. "Permission to come on board Captain!"

Masane had arrived last. She walked up on Ichirou's left. She certainly was not dressed as a pirate. Then again she had no clue how to be a pirate. Great day to learn.
Her figure was covered by her paper-made cloak. Underneath said cloak were her various tools including a bag of rations.
She did not know what she would need other than food. All of the weapons they would need she could create.
Ammo for what cannons they may have and perhaps a bit of siding to add armor to the ship. All could be created though her Koton.
She scanned the crew stopping her gaze on the one that seemed to be capitan.

"Room for one more"?

She began to wonder if she would need to use phrases like "Ahoy matey." Or "Arrrrrg". There was little chance she would do so. If anything she would simply remain silent.

Standing at the top of the gangplank, she would turn to see the red head woman suddenly appear already on board. She looked about the railings thinking there must have been more than one leading from the docks to the ship other than the one she currently occupied. Curious.

Shadow felt the weight of the ship flutter ever so slightly with the additional persons now coming aboard. Right when he was about to reply to Ichirou his attention switched over the the modulated voice of Kayenta upon the gangplank. "Aye Lassie!" His lips curved at the edges into a smile as he walked along the deck with an outstretched hand. "This!" Shadow exclaimed as he motioned his hand in a reveal fashion. "Is how your attire should look!" He smiled playfully once more before letting his arm settle at his side. He had hoped Kayenta didn't mind being the poster child for what a pirate should look like.

His brow happened to raise as Masane entered stage from the left. He too was a bit curious as to how she got aboard. Perhaps she had jumped from the aft deck that was roped to the other side of the port? It didn't really matter much. His face lit up once more to greet her with a comment to her clothing choice. "Always room for more! However..." He pointed towards Kayenta once more. "You'll need to talk to her to fix your garb in order to accompany us on this voyage." Shadow's own attire hadn't been changed yet, but at the current moment his main priority was to ensure all crew members were to be on deck as they set off.

"Once all the members are here we will go over all the details before we're off. Double check to make sure whatever you want to bring is with you. We will not be turning around."

Ichirou's eyes fell upon the new arrivals to the ship, noting the rather pirate like apparel of one of the two females, Might as well kick it up a notch.. he though to himself, utilizing his Shikigami no Mai to alter the appearance of his clothing. His clothes would turn white, appearing to be millions of squares stacked atop one another before they would all begin to maneuver, changing shape and adding to his clothing. Once they had finished they resumed color once again, giving Ichirou a much more fitting attire for the appearance of a pirate.

He spun around in his new attire, looking over his shoulder to examine and make sure everything was in place before lifting his back from the deck and speaking to Shadow, Oi Cap'in, where can I store me belong'ins? his accent thickening as he spoke. Making sure he was nice and deep into character before the expedition began. Though in all honesty he didn't quite understand the purpose behind such a charade, who were they dressing up for? Either way, he assumed it bore some sort of purpose and decided he'd rather enjoy it than complain. The held the heavy bag over his shoulder as he waited for Shadow's response.

She had indeed jumped aboard the ship. This was a spur of the moment thing for her. She had been walking by and simply heard bits of the verball exchange between Shadow and Ichirou.
"I was passing by and couldn't help but hear some things."  As she was told about her attire, she made use of her paper just as Ichirou did in order to look the part. She had no idea what pirates wore so she took bits and pieces from what she saw before her.
"Thank you capitan."She said as she offered a slight nod. She would need to work of the accent. For her the cover of being a pirate did not strike the question 'why'. She did not care why. She just wanted to go and try new things. Setting out to sea was definitely new for her.

When the declaration for a voyage across the Eastern Ocean was shared with the Kirigakure council, Dāto had immediately volunteered to represent the village. After all, it would only be fitting that an island inhabitant and Mist denizen would accompany the travelers. However, representing the village wasn't the only reason why the Dai-Gensui had volunteered. He had long been dreaming of sailing East to discover what may lie out in the open ocean abyss. He had just been too wrapped up in the politics and paperwork to escape from the village island's borders. Now was a chance for him to achieve his goal. Those would be the reasons why the auburn-haired, muscled brute could be found walking through the crowded pier in search for the described ship.

Fortunately for him, his genetic pool had gifted him with a decent height so he was able to see over most of the crowd. He stood at a height of 6' 2" and weighed in at 210 lbs now, most (if not all) of this weight would be the obvious muscle that was clearly being boasted by his attire. He wore a simple pair of ash gray fisherman trousers trimmed with a navy blue hem that hung just off his hips, proudly displaying his toned adonis belt (V line). To ensure his breeches didn't fall completely off, a black leather ring belt riddled with various pouches secured the material to his pelvis. His arms and torso were brazenly bare save for a loosely laced navy blue pirate vest. It's partial opening gave a teasing glance into his finely chiseled chest and abdomen. It also managed to reveal an ancient scar that stretched from the middle of his right collarbone to just below his left pectoral. Tattooed on his powerful right shoulder would be the insignia for the ANBU Corps. and on his left would be the kanji, 秋, which means "Autumn". His black leather boots would scrape the wooden planks lightly as he weaved through parts of the crowd that did not part from his path. Securing his auburn hair and also working to hide the teal diamond on his forehead would be an ash gray bandana. The insignia for Kirigakure was embroidered in navy blue and say directly in the middle of his forehead. A black leather eyepatch also covered his right eye though it didn't appear to hinder his ability to see, his left eye was a bright emerald green.

His piercing gaze roamed over the various patrons while he pondered on just who would be joining in this adventure. He didn't immediately see anyone he recognized but he expected that. Nonetheless, he hadn't come unprepared. Sheathed, wrapped together, and being carried on his left shoulder would be the Fujaku Hishō Shōken (Weaknessless Soaring Shortswords) while in his right hand he carried a tan leather duffle bag that occasionally rattled with the sound of metal and glass. Luckily for him, the sight of this large, muscled man carrying weaponry and an odd bag helped to disperse the crowd in his path so he was able to reach the ship quicker than originally thought. He definitely was able to spot the rig and it was sure a beauty to behold. As he drew near the gangplank, he couldn't help but notice that a small contingent of people had already began to gather on the deck.

The first person he perceived was the red-headed female that swirled with paper. It was a curious sight to behold as her attire seemed to change within the flurry. The Mist denizen pondered on the ability he just perceived but really he was interested in the female's heritage. Could she be a lost Terumī? Chances are, she was of an Uzumaki lineage, though. That clan really crawled out of the woodworks this past year. Next to her stood a young gentleman who appeared to be about her age though he too was oddly addressed. A bit superfluous on the pirate garb but it would suffice, Dāto assumed. Next to the two younger adults, the Dai-Gensui spotted what appeared to be the Captain of the ship. He was adorned in an admiral's trench coat and stood quite confident of himself as he spoke with the gathered entourage. Drawing ever closer to the gangplank now, his gaze would shift to the other who stood at its end. His heart leapt a little and an excited grin would dance on his lips.

There standing before him was none other than the beauty Lady Kazekage Kayenta Moenkopi though she hardly looked like her regular self. Still, you cannot hide those luxurious tresses and shimmering eyes so easily. She appeared to be quite healthy and eager to board the ship while decked out in the most pirate fashioned all of gathered. She looked like she belonged on a ship and could easily command such. “Well, this shall be an interesting adventure now, won't it?” he would call out to her as he closed the gap between the two. It was comforting to know that a familiar face would be on board. :o

It was pretty easy to notice the retired Uzumaki Leader, The Famous Uzumaki Warrior of The Uzumaki Clan, for several reasons. In a crowd of people, Athos always stuck out like a sore thumb because the man stood at a towering six feet and seven inches, having only ever met one person who was taller than him and that was his older brother, Kirk. Now, taking his height into consideration, the man's crimson hair, that looked akin to silk, stretched down to his ankles. It was a great length but the man wore it exceptionally, and it only ended to the endless charm and level of attractiveness that oozed from the man. Without clothing on, the man's body was detailed and chiseled to lengths that very, very few were. There wasn't a sickening amount of detail or muscle, the man was almost like this realm's version of a Greek God, especially in his face. And to top it off, he had powerful golden hues, that showed countless years of experience, leadership experience, and passionate strength all behind an encouraging gaze.

That being said, Athos had been invited onto the ship by the man running this expedition. He was well aware of the fact that they'd be pretending to be pirates, but that didn't really change his clothing of choice. The towering stature of the man, whose chakra pool could be felt by any sensors due to it's size, came walking along the dock that the ship was currently resting. Honestly, he had been a pirate in his youth, so getting back into the role wouldn't be too hard. He already had tanned skin from time in the desert, seeing as he had been pale looking in his early teens. On his left arm, from the back of his hand and up to his shoulder, was a Tattoo, which was actually a Fuinjutsu. Worked into the Fuinjutsu, on the back of the hand as well, was the Zebul Seal, a Kinjutsu of his creation.

Athos was dressed within a pair of black pants, with no shoes or socks on his feet, and yet they still had managed to stay completely clean from any dirt. Covering the man's wonderful body was, if you can believe it, a Hawaiian Shirt. It was different shades of blue, flowers across the whole shirt, giving him the look of a tourist. On the back of his waist was a scroll about half the size of a Sage's Scroll, where all his belongings and weapons were being held within various seals. Behind the sunglasses on his face, his eyes gleamed as he saw Kayenta standing on the Gangplank. That was a face he hadn't seen in some time, though he had seen Asadi not too long ago, and he felt himself grinning widely. But with her blocking the way up, and it looking like Dart was about to start conversation with her while she was blocking the way up, he looked up at the boat.

He took in it's length, size, details, and so on and so forth. Nodding his head approvingly, he bent his knees slightly before jumping up into the air. With soft thuds, his feet would come to land on the top deck of the ship, golden hues already have taken in everyone who was up on the deck. He knew... Well, he knew everyone. As he spoke, it showed that his voice matched his body, strong, loud but not overwhelming, and oozing charm,"Oi, Shadow! I thought you and I were running away together, what's with all these other sorry types?" Of course, the grin on his face as he walked over towards the group of people talking showed that he was teasing the lot of them.

Kayenta brought up a concern I had with how we post in this thread. With everyone going in turn it can be difficult for someone who is the target of many others to post a reply.

In this case I'll use myself. I have to write a reply to about all of you since I was talking to Icirou, Masane, and pointed out Kayenta and then Athos on top of that.

So to keep from having to reply to 23343 other people's posts we'll be changing over to 'once a round' This means that if you post you have to then wait until everyone else posts to post again like normal, but there is no order.

Example:

4th round:

Shadow
Ichirou
Athos
Jay
Kayenta
Dart
Masane

And the 5th could look like:

Athos
Shadow
Jay
Ichirou
Masane
Dart
Kayenta

Once Jay posts (and/or conker/asadi) we will switch over to this new system.

Hopefully if I understand and explained this correctly we'll be able to have more fluent interaction.

Jay made his way to the ship, like the rest of the appointed crew, though his method seemed a bit... unorthodox. Laying atop a cloud of what appeared like, snow, he floated down to the docks. On his back, his head would be facing the direction he was going, but his attention was on the clouds above him. Between his lips, a lit cigarette rested, and a light trail of smoke lingered in the air. The snow particles nearest to the ground seemed to swirl more rapidly than the top of the cloud like fluff of snow.

A mass of chakra could obviously be felt from the usage, though it didn't feel like all that much was being used. The Nara sighed out a particularly thick stream of smoke, his golden orbs blinking in what could be felt as exhaustion. Of course the Manji Leader wasn't fully used to the duties that position held and felt that this expedition would be a much needed vacation for him. "I don't want to see a single piece of paper." He muttered to himself as he neared the ship. He sensed a lot of familiar signatures and some he didn't know. It was weird that his sensei would be here, but from what he heard, he and this Shadow, were supposed to run away together. It was something that made him chuckle, as he rolled off the cloud, landing on the ramp that led up to it.

His grandfather had been a pirate, so choosing what to wear for the ruse was easy. While, he wished to wear something extravagant, like a swashbuckler's outfit, his gramps kept it simple and so would he. Wearing a simple white, loose shirt, he would have a dark vest over it, spread wide open, and he would be wearing dark shorts as well. His feet were bare, a state in which they were nearly always in. Over this, would be a large coat that covered his even six foot frame, also wide open and the handle of a sword rested above his belt. While the sword wasn't entirely visible, the scent of blood would linger around the Nara.

His aforementioned cloud of snow would fall, melting into water before it hit the deck. His eyes gazed upon the crew and smiled at them: Ichi, Masa, Shadow, Dart,  Kayenta and finally his sensei. "What the heck are you wearing?" His surprise nearly caused him to lose his cigarette.

Shadow pointed Ichirou towards the deckhouse at the front of the ship with a slight movement of his head in the same direction. This area was not for storage, but the stairs that led to the crew quarters were inside all the same. He had assumed Ichirou would come to figure that out on his own, but the ship tour was scheduled later in the day.

Even though Shadow was not a sensory type he had what seemed like a preternatural knowledge of everyone within a mile of him. Regardless of the means he used to acquire this ability he used this knowledge to start his welcoming speech of this expedition as the remaining few closed their distance from the ship. This welcoming speech he had planned to be short and sweet. His monologue was saved for when they had set sail.

As Shadow started to speak one could easily note the influence of a sound based technique being used on his voice to overpower any background noises. "Welcome everyone." Now thinking back to a few moments before when he sensed the Uzumaki he should have waited until greetings were finished, but as he already had started he opted to do a mixture of a normal wave and a peace sign towards Athos before returning his attention to the whole group. "It seems that most of us are here with the exception of a few maybes that never got back to me with a solid yes." Shadow walked towards the deckhouse from his previous position between the two siblings and Kayenta. "We will wait awhile longer for these maybes to show up. It would be imprudent for them to waste time getting here..."

He had trailed off on the ending of the sentence as he made his way towards Athos greeting him with a slight shake of his head and a half smile. As he did from the corner of his eye he could see Jay and the others towards the ramp and gave them the same odd wave he had Athos. "I thought we'd take a little side trek before we retire and run off together." Now in front of the Uzumaki he took hold of Athos's hands and held them tightly, an overly sarcastic smile plastered upon his face. "Then...we can live together in the mountains. Even if we have to....break our backs to get there." With that he turned his head towards the tune of Jay's voice.

Moenkopi's cheeks flushed as Shadow made such a spectacle of her before the strangers. There was not much time to retort as she next heard a familiar voice hailing her from further back on the gang plank. Sticking her tongue out at Shadow, she turned round to see the man. It had been ages since last they had met and the wave of memories washed over her, her assassination of the Hokage, the replacement of her chakra system by Murcielago, her own murder at the hands of her husband. Death had been...well it had been rather nice compared to the wrenching torment her resurrection had put her through. And all at the behest of the man before her. Her accent would no doubt color the pronunciation of his name, but it had been ever how she addressed him and that would never change.  "Hello Dart. I trust the years have treated you well?"

But had they? The years were hard on everyone she knew. The leap of Athos was hard to miss, her eyes tracking him even as he sailed over the railing to catch sight of yet another descending from the clouds. She had procrastinated enough and set her first step upon the ship and so cleared the way for Dart to board. Before he could answer her greeting Shadow would begin his speech and she turned to face him. She smiled slightly in thought after his words. So, there would be others. But who? She dared not hope that this time...

Boarding the ship in the dark hours of the morning, Asadi sat quietly up in the crows nest, enjoying a bottle of rum while one by one people began to board the ship.

Up top, he sports a burnt umber sleeveless hooded coat with a golden brown trim; this clothe is a durable mixture of leather, for support and padding for defense, and a strong mixture of cotton and russet for breath ability with the added open form that shows off his sculpted physique.  Upon his arms, he has strands of cloth tied just at the elbow for added support and an impromptu medical device. On his hands, he has bandages with fine layers of sands and soil for doton use; wrapped halfway up his lower arm for added support while performing in battle.

Below the belt he wears chocolate brown shorts a dragon shrouded in smoke upon the left pant leg. The shorts  rest just below the knee,  leaving little of the sculpted body to the imagination. For missions or battle, he usually has  combat packs on either hips, along with a kunai holster thigh on his right hip. Unlike most shinobi, he doesn't wear footwear or shinguards as he uses the elements to his advantage . His weapon of choice, a elongate katana, is strapped to his back in a brown sheath with slight gold trim. Sat next to him was a large scroll that held his supplies for the journey ahead.

He sat up and looked over the railing and gave a loud wolf call at Moenkopi. "Oooow! Look at those sea legs!" His chuckle echoed into the bottle as he took a small drink.

He had been about to answer her question when the man in the admiral trenchcoat spoke. He spoke with such poise and elegancy that the Mist denizen was all but entirely convinced he was the one in charge for this voyage. After the man finished his speech, Dāto would secure his own passage on the ship by walking up the gangplank and landing on the bridge. He smiled and went to open his mouth the reply again when another voice cat called from from above. Lifting his head up so his own visible eye would be able to perceive the owner of th voice and a grin erupted on his face. So, the husband of the Lady Kazekage was present for this trip as well. This was going to be interesting. Before another could interrupt him, he would answer her question with a wolfish grin, “I have shared a few trials of my own. But overall, things have been well. How have things been for you?”

He nodded his head calming, thumbs stroking the man's hands,"Well, how could I say no to you, K-" He paused, furrowing his brow, almost having a slip of the tongue, as if forgetting they were in public, playing his role well, despite Shadow's smile,"Shadow, my dear."

As he heard Jay's voice, he would manage the most content grin he could manage before glancing his way,"I'm sorry, what was that, pupil o' mine?" He perked a brow at the man but then he heard another voice from up above? What is a god beckoning from the heavens?.. Of course, this thought had almost caused Athos to break his act with a chuckle, a more sincere grin on his lips now,"Huh, didn't think he was going to show." He said in a mutter, tossing his gaze back to Shadow, which were still covered by sunglasses,"Oi, do you have someone to steer this thing?"

The man chuckled softly, seeing his sensei in a new light. He decided to remain quite for the moment as the man began responding to the others. He looked up to see a man in the crow's nest, immediately getting salty at being beat to the best place on a ship. He took another drag of his cigarette and turned his attention back to Athos and Shadow for a moment. "Speaking of adventures..." His stomach would growl quite loudly at that point, the color draining from his face, before it returned a second later.

"I'm hungry." He chuckled lightly as he rubbed the back of his head.

Ichirou vanished as soon as he was directed to the crew quarters, storing his various works of art and listening in upon the words shared between the varying crew members that boarded the ship.  At least the best to his ability. The only words that were pertinent at the moment were the captains, which could be heard clearly due to his enhancement of his own voice. Once Ichirou had stored everything away in a manner he saw fit he would return to the deck, laying eyes upon all those who had joined the crusade. Glad to see that it wasn't merely Shadow and Ichirou that were going to be operating such a large ship.

Moenkopi's eyes snapped upward to the crow's nest to spy Asadi, her heart pounding in elation to know he had indeed joined the expedition. In all their years, this would be the first time they had gone a wandering together; how could an event of that magnitude fail to delight? Stretching out her left arm to grasp the edge of her great coat, she would extend her left leg forward, pointing the toe of her boot even as she touched it to the deck before her. Her right leg would bear the bulk of her weight as she bent the knee and sank into a bow to place her right hand flat against her chest.  "Greetings, my Sovereign Liege." Even as she rose to her full height again her eyes did sparkle with mischief as she gazed upon the Shinobi Kingdom's king. Further words were directed, however, toward Dart, and she would turn to face him as she began to speak.

So many changes had occurred in the intervening years. There had been her retirement as active Kazekage, and a succession of 5 since that time. It was daunting to think of how swiftly the world could turn when you were not looking. A shadow crossed her features as she thought of the death of their eldest son, Masaaki, who perished in her arms despite all her medical prowess. She had stayed her hand, however, refraining from resurrecting the 14 year old boy; that was something she could not bring herself to do to him. That she had never even tried was a secret she had not shared with his father, Asadi. Her fingers uncurled to release the edge of her coat and she smiled. She had done so to her daughter, appellates such as 'adopted' or 'in-law' were not something she used, and the results had been less than favorable. Somehow Maya had never been the same. No, cheating Shinigami was best left to those who were indeed divine. "Ah things are looking up!"

Shadow lightly shrugged his shoulders at Athos's question before withdrawing his hands and walking back towards the deckhouse, trailing his right hand on Athos's shoulder with a loving pat. "It's going to steer itself mostly, though if you want..." He then glanced over to Jay and pointed to the sea and to the deckhouse. "You can either catch what you eat or if you prefer to skip that the galley is below as is everything else."

His own eyes looked to the crow's nest as Asadi had made his presence known to everyone else. It had been years since he had seen the King and even longer since he had thought of the kingdom itself. Despite having preached his allegiance, the years had added on a new mindset to Shadow and as Kayenta kneeled down it would show that her loyalty had long outlasted his own for the great kingdom. The gathering of all these faces started to fill Shadow with nostalgia as history unfolded itself upon them. Definitely not good for the crew before they set sail.

Interjecting once again he would monologue. "Sorry to interrupt your greetings once more, but all parties that are accompanying us seem to be present. As such that signifies the time to set sail." His hands gestured towards the East to where their destination lay. "This will be a long trip. Be sure anything that you want with you is already on your person. However I'm sure most of you are using a summoning scroll." He gave a minor head nod to Athos. "As for what position you'll be doing. That's entirely up to you. Though it seems lookout, explosives, steer-er, and cook have already been decided." Only Ichirou and Athos had expressed what jobs they had wanted, but with Asadi already in the crow's nest and Jay being hungry that seemed like the perfect place for them to be.

"We set sail!" Shadow meandered around the ship and started to undo all the ropes that kept the ship in place as well as motioning for others to help him. "All the details will be filled in on the way there. We'll have plenty of time to go over everything."

The Nara flashed a grin, every single one of his teeth were big and sharp, showing how pleased he was about catching his own food. It had been many months since he enjoyed the thrill of the hunt. The man didn't wait much longer as he made the short distance to the main mast.

As he did, he began removing his clothing, so as to not get them drenched. He was soon left in only a pair of near skin tight boxer briefs. He stretched his arms and bent backwards to relax his muscles, for the swim. His bloodied katana, Ragnarok, was soon stabbed into the deck, but only an inch at the most. He slapped his hand against the mast, sending a bit of his chakra into it to mark it with his Hiraishin formula, though the small dot would merely blend into the bark of the mast.

The grin never left his face as he gathered up his long hair and formed a ring of ice around it to keep it under control, looking towards the gathered crew as he did. "Seafood is the main cuisine, so ye best get used to it." It didn't take a genius to realize the Nara had fully agreed to the position in the kitchen. He grinned widely as his golden hues seemed to brighten a shade as a pair of large and black raven wings burst from his back. A half dozen feathers kicked off from the motion, as the 15 foot wingspan flared open.

"Anything specific before I head out?" He asked the entirety of the crew, their suggestions would give him a hint to what they preferred and it would prepare him for any future meals.

I'm down for whatever get's cooked, food is food! Ichirou chuckled, lighting another cigarette. His position as demo-unit was something he was much more than comfortable with. In fact he found it rather fitting considering his passive nature to blow things up.

He tugged on his pirate clothing, making sure it was all fitting snug. Making slight adjustments here and there via the paper that created the clothing whenever he spotted a slight defect in his craftsmanship. He wasn't particularly use to creating pirate clothing, so his margin for error was a bit larger than usual.

Athos would felt his body shudder at the loving tap that had been placed in his shoulder. Then Shadow started to give another speech and Athos made sure to show off the large scroll on the back of his waist when he was gestured to, almost like a showcase girl. His hands moved to take off the sunglasses on his face, golden hues falling onto his student,"Anything less than fatty tuna or a shark and you better look for tutelage from someone else." A grin was on his lips, though, an obvious sign that he was jesting. Seeing that, along with physical and mental training, Athos and Jay had also practiced cooking... Because they were men and it could sometimes be as hard as a long, strung-out jutsu, it was important to practice.

But now with his sunglasses off his face, he would take on his official pirate look. He undid the buttons of his blue flowered shirt to expose the chiseled and detailed form beneath. He slid the shirt off and then slammed the sunglasses and shirt against his scroll, the items disappearing in a poof of smoke. Someone had to be the shirtless pirate of the ship and who better than the ma[man who was both steering and seemingly allergic to shirts,"Alright, I'll be up at the wheel if anyone wants to talk to me!" And with that, he would give the people a wave and move up to start steering and set sail!

The auburn-haired male smiled and nodded to her. “That is absolutely wonderful to hear. Looks like this will be one interesting trip then, huh?” he said to her with a smile on his face and a slight nod to their company. There were many a person here that he did not know. Soon though, he would need to make their acquaintance, after all, they were on the same expedition together. Before he could speak with any of them, truly, they scattered to different corners of the ship. One even completely shaped form. It would have been eerie if Dāto didn't possess an ability akin to his.

Asadi shook his head as Moenkopi gave him a greeting of heraldry, but a smile danced upon his lips. "As I've told you many a time over all the years we've been together, just use my name. Besides, none of that certainly applies on another man's vessel."

Eyeing the people below, new faces and old seemed to be mixed together. All he hoped was that this would truly be a good cohesive group; Having his wife and brother would make this trip easier.

Masane just stood there watching as the crew began to expand. She listened quietly to the many words exchanged between the crew. The girl said nothing as she gazed about the faces if the ship.
After a few moments she moved to the front of the vessel and pondered about her roll here. It did not matter to her though blowing things up was literally a talent she was born with.
For now she would remain quiet and should the need for something to be blown up arrive, she'd be ready.
As for the food, she would more than likely catch her own food. The Uchiha was eager to see where this adventure would lead the crew.

Or would it? No one could drive you crazy like family and Asadi's reply always made her laugh. Ah well, some bits never got old. Tease him though she would, she respected him as she did no other. But leave it to the brothers to take up all the best jobs; Asadi on high with the best view and Athos as the chesty sailor. There was nothing for it; she would stay on deck and keep her shirt on. As she laughed she waved up to her husband, "Yes my Lord, anything you say."

With a huge grin upon her faze she said to Dart, "It certainly does, my old friend. I haven't felt this excited about a voyage in years, can't wait to see what we run into first."  Seeing as she was there to work, when Shadow said it was time to set sail she too would begin undoing mooring lines then headed over to the wench for the anchor. The crank was set up in such a way as one person could lift the massive weigh with but a turn of the crank. Within in minutes she would have the anchor up and secured in place all ready to set sail. While she worked she considered what sort of food she would eat from the sea. Having grown up on an island kingdom, she was raised upon all that the sea had to offer, however her travels and subsequent years in the desert had separated from her native fair. It would be a real treat, therefore, to feed upon what bounty the oceans could provide. She then passed by the self proclaimed chef at the mast she commented,  "Truthfully there is nothing that doesn't go good with a good curry blend. If you've need of any spices just ask."  The woman never went on the road without a well stocked assortment of seasonings.

Shadow sauntered towards the deckhouse as they finally departed from the docks deciding not to partake in anymore banter for now. Inside the 'house' was lined with windowpane mostly towards the front where it jutted out over the water. Where there was no glass the walls were lined with a few paintings and documents secured in frames. Just in front of the large viewing window was a hearty desk made of the same wood as the ship and around it was at least one chair for each side. Upon the desk lay a large map and other rolled up parchments. To the immediate right of the entrance was the small staircase that led to the under deck. And from the floor to the ceiling next to that was a filled bookcase full of any and all knowledge on the Eastern Continent and events of other worldly happenings.

Shadow leaned against the table with both hands before scanning over the map. They had departed from Kumogakure to cross the sea despite Kirigakure having a close access point to the South of the continent however this area had already been explored due to said closeness. On the map Shadow had written down in red ink 氷 where the ocean reached halfway. This point was where they were headed. The cold and desolated area had tales of a city underneath the ice that was guarded by a behemoth of a sea creature. He hoped the crew weren't expecting a trip to a tropical island. At least not just yet. He was here for adventure. The lazy sleep inducing heat would come after. Once this continent and all it's secrets were revealed.

Ichirou would position himself atop the Deckhouse, facing the sails as the ship began to leave port, weaving a few seals he would release from his Maw a Gentle yet strong current of wind via the Great Breakthrough technique.

He did this in order to increase their speed efficiently but also safely, his control over Futon allowing him to progressively increase the strength of the wind as the ship picked up it's pace, the water slapping against the wood as they pierced small waves.

Other than the very few responses, nobody seemed to be as hungry as he was. It mattered not to the raven haired male as he flapped his wings a few times in preparation. He looked towards his sensei as he began to speak. "What I have in mind is going to be better." At least, that was his opinion.

He turned his head towards Kayenta, fully appreciating her offer of spices. He had yet to even see the kitchen, so he was thankful for the offer. "Thank you so much. I'll find you when I return." He told her as he began his ascent.

He would change his attention to the older male in the crow's nest. He didn't know the man personally, or the woman, but he knew them as the brother and sister-in-law to Athos,  respectively. As he grew level with the nest, his nostrils were assaulted by the scent of liquor. Oh how he wished for his own bottle of rum. "Any suggestIIOONNSS!?" He would yelp out as his wings caught the buffering winds of the Great Breakthrough, causing him to veer away from the drunken king.

He flapped his wings with the force necessary to balance himself. His golden hues looked down at Ichi, before returning towards Asadi. "Sorry about that." The Nara would listen to whatever the king had to say, only then would he fly off towards the open sea, with the ship following.

He could only smile at her excitement and then she was off to man the sails. He chuckled lightly and glanced around as the others took up different positions and shifts on and below the deck. With a small shrug, he would head down to below decks. Time to find his bunk and secure his gear if he was going to be any help at a later date.

The sudden gust of wind didn't catch the man off guard. He muttered silently as he held his hood in place with his left hand before turning his gaze to the winged man. "S'okay." With that, he took a drink from his bottle, turning his gaze below as the people worked their magic to get the ship moving.

Sail began to bellow and unfurl as the ship was untied and anchor hoisted. It seemed he'd become a glorified lookout without intentionally trying to do so. He shrugged and leaned back onto the railing, his arms propped behind him on it. The weather looked great, it was hoped it would stay that way.

Athos would have come to stand at the deck, his hair resting at the center of his back(it may had been stated as longer earlier in the RP, don't mind the tweak :D )and flowing partially down his back and over his shoulders. He knew where they were going already, seeing as he secretly planned to steer the ship the whole time, so he easily led the ship along their intended path.

Once they were out of the docks and clear of land, he man touched his right hand to the scroll on his back and in a poof of smoke would appear a silver flask within his hand. Inside was a deep brown liquid that would most likely kill anyone that wasn't of his bloodline. He took a long swig of the deadly contents and let out a long, content breath, the smell possibly crossing the whole upper deck, at least for a few moments, before being cast off backwards in the wind.

Moenkopi lifted her arm and waved in response to the self-proclaimed fisherman before heading to the deck house to grill Shadow about their course. She liked to be in the know about things, although not opposed to little surprises here and there. Upon entering, she would find him leaning over a huge map upon the table and she would greet him with her query. "Mind if I get a bit more information on what our course will be Shadow?" Most everything had been vague on details when she had received the missive concerning this expedition. The lack of information had not been enough to deter her from tagging along.

Even with the hush hush nature of the Eastern Expedition, there were those who kept a watchful eye upon the seas and all the comings and goings at the various port of calls throughout the realm. Captain Bartholomew Perdrake, otherwise know as The Red Dragon due to the distinct coloration of his beard in contrast to his black mane of hair, was just such a man. You didn't get to be the Captain of a pirate ship unless you had a precise set of skills at your command. You had to know the seas, how to be bold and decisive in battle, and have skill in navigating and seamanship. Not only that, you had to have the personality to keep your crew in line. And still, your place of authority was not guaranteed. If the crew thought you were not bold enough, they would elect a new Captain. If they thought you were too reckless, if they just didn't kill you right out, you also could be replaced. Apparently The Red Dragon was doing a spectacular job for he had run this crew and their compliment of ships, for over a decade. And that required being able to practically smell treasure on the wind. Yet another reason why he was called the dragon.

From the Captain's cabin at the back of his brigantine, The Lucky Lady, Perdrake had to chortle."Ninja taking to the seas? There must certainly be more on the table than just the desire to explore." He could not imagine why they would band together unless there was great wealth to be had. At that moment his Quartermaster came in to make a report. Second in power only to the captain, Vincenzo, shut the door behind him and took up a seat in one of the chairs opposite the captain's desk. He was an imposing man, by all accounts, used to commanding the crew and dealing out punishments to those who committed crimes. A veteran of many a ship boarding, he was respected as much as he was feared. "The vessel is just out of sight and by all accounts doing nothing to change its course, Bart. Clearly they have no idea they are being trailed."

The two pirates had been in league with each other for nearly 20 years and were inseparable and for this Bartholomew was blessed. The last thing he needed was a right hand man who would stir the crew up against him. No, they held absolute loyalty to one another each having saved the life of the other more times than they could recall. But it was the crew who were undoubtedly blessed, for not only were they run by most skilled officers, but The Lucky Lady was a top of the line vessel that fit their every need. Being a three masted brigantine, she weighed in at 150 ton and was 80 foot long boasting a max crew of about 100 pirates. Currently they were running with 80 but that was more than enough to meet their needs. Boasting 10 cannon, she had just had her hull careened to clear it of seaweed and other marine life. Although she was not rigged with lateen sails, being square-rigged on the foremast with a gaff-rigged mainsail and square rig above it, the addition of three sails off the spiritbow ensure she would reach top speed. What more could a crew desire? Loot, and lots of it.

"See to it that we remain out of sight for now, can't have the little birdies getting spooked before they lead us to treasure now, can we?" The two exchanged a short amused laugh before the quartermaster left to go about his duties leaving the captain to ponder just what might have drawn the ninja from land. It surely had to be prize worthy.

As time passed, Masane repositioned herself atop the mast. She stood with her arms crossed as usual and her crimson optic upon the vast sea before her. Just like the unknown pirates she wondered what this trip was about. The suspense however added even more thrill to the event. She resisted her curiosity biting back all her inquiries .
The girl had never set out to sea before. She had no idea what to expect from this. So far it was turning out to be a pleasant experience. The only downside was the harsh smells of the marine environment. The young Uchiha had favored the Inuzuka techniques and as a result she constantly focused chakra into her nose to increase her sense of smell. She would not break her ways due to the terrible smells the winds kicked up. She would take it all in. The salty air, the sour fish aroma and even the slight hint of a pungent body odor.
Of course at first this would  not stand out to her. As the wind carried the sneaky looters after the crew of ninja, it also carried with them their scent among others. Masane had long turned her eyes to the sky having no knowledge of the source of anything she smelled. She would simply stare up at the sky lost in the beauty of the sea.

Shadow looked over to Kayenta as she entered the cabin and stepped to the side to allow her a optimal view of the map. Knowing Kayenta he'd guess that she would fill in most of the blanks if there were any. She was regarded by himself as a historian among all the other titles she held. Though lore and history had long been known to be closely intertwined with falsehood in many situations. That's what they were here for to see if this was to be held as true or no.

"We're headed due East of Kumogakure." His finger tapped lightly on the red kanji. "This area in particular may have something to check out if the lore holds up." His eyes darted to the window panes that lined the cabin as he stared as if listening to some unheard voice out on the sea. A slight moment of stern expression covering his face. This passed quickly however and a smile replaced it once more as he gazed back to her "What is there I can only speculate, but they say a monster calls it home." Quite generic if you were to ask him personally, but that's how most tales were told. Still his eyes once more returned to look out over the sea as he seemed to be contemplating something inside. A light tap of his left hand upon the wood of the table sending an ever so slight vibration to the hull of the ship.

The Nara, no longer being on the ship, grew rather carefree as he flew over the ocean with powerful beats of his large blackened wings. He soared and looked at the clear blue waters below, knowing that in a matter of moments, he would be in a part of the ocean where the runs ran extremely deep. Deep enough for him to make his dive and find them something to eat. He didn't think anything of hunting for others, just as much as himself. It wouldn't be the first time and it definitely wouldn't be the last, he did have a family of course. Ocean hunting, wouldn't be any different either, but he couldn't deny the thrill of the immersion that elated him to a point that, if he wasn't careful, could very well leave him in quite a pickle.

These thoughts brought to mind the time he got swallowed by a whale, luckily he missed being bitten by any teeth, but it was quite the experience. He shuddered before he looked behind him, the ship was no longer in sight, but he didn't let that bother him, the mast held his mark, as well as his weapon. He wouldn't be getting lost at sea any time soon.

But with that said, it ascended higher just below the clouds and began to dive down. His wings fluttered away, leaving a trail of black feathers above him, just before they shattered as if they were glass. With his wings completely got, he began whooping from the freefall and just before the impact with the water, he shielded his frame with chakra. With the perfect dive and the chakra around him, the water's surface didn't even look as if it had been disturbed in the slightest.

The near naked Nara wasted little time, with a yellow tint glowing in his eyes, gills developed on both sides of his neck. His legs formed together and made a large dolphin-like tail. Without any worries about drowning or the any instances of being crushed under the pressure of the water, the man dived down at tremendous speeds. He was on the hunt for some delicious prey, and he was more than sure the waters had what he wanted.

Athos made sure that they were on the right track before he would take his hands from the wheel, letting the ship initiate 'Auto-Pilot Mode' for now. With that done, he let his golden hues cast around him, taking in all the sights. He saw Shadow and Kayenta speaking through a window or two, assuming it was about the trip ahead of them. He gave a wave to Ichirou as his eyes passed over his brother in arms, and a wink towards Masane because why not?

Though, his eyes settled upwards, towards someone he hadn't expected to even be here. Bending his knees, he would clear the distance between himself and his brother, flying towards the lookout. As if he had been walking on air, his feet would gracefully land on the railing next to his brother's arm, gaze on him,"Oi, ye bastard." Athos stated with an almost half-assed pirate accent, extending the silver flask towards his brother,"Drink with me."

He closed the door behind him, carving into the wooden door his name with chakra, and then proceeded upwards and outwards onto the deck. Suddenly his peace was shattered by a thud and a horrible fake accent. That was all it took for him to know it was his lovely little brother.

Craning his head back, he looked up at the corny pirate and smirked. "You scurvy cur." A snicker left him as he swapped the bottle in his hand for the flask, leaving the rum for Athos.
