Manga complexity analysis!

Statistical analysis demonstrating that Bleach and Naruto carry the least amount of text and have the biggest pictures of any Shonen Jump manga. The basic approach of the investigation was to count the number of frames and lines of text in each title featured in Shonen Jump over 3 chapters, and so work out the general complexity of each title.

The creator of the study could not help but note that Bleach had by far both the lowest number of frames and the lowest amount of text of all two dozen titles, with its big pictures and absence of boring text. Close on Bleach’s heels is none other than Naruto – with the 2nd lowest amount of text and the very least amount of text per panel.

Meanwhile One Piece placed somewhere in the middle of the pack, although it did have the 4th highest amount of text per frame, it being suggested that each chapter contains a fairly large amount of information but that a low number of frames forces each to carry a fair amount of text.

Official character designs for Naruto's up-coming movie, “leaked”!

(http://i1049.photobucket.com/albums/s394/QQcloud/etc/road-to-ninja-sasuke-and-hinata-2.jpg) (http://i1049.photobucket.com/albums/s394/QQcloud/etc/road-to-ninja-sasuke-and-hinata-3.jpg)

The above are the character designs employed in the upcoming “Road to Ninja” Naruto movie, not least Hinata’s slatternly new persona and Sasuke the playboy host. The images themselves are official character designs for the movie, “leaked” via Twitter.

That analysis is pretty skewed though(since it's only 3 chapters) since there are some Naruto and Reborn chapters have so much text I honestly force myself to skip through it, like Itachi's explanation of Izanami or Bermuda telling the story of the Arcobaleno.

I don't think anyone is hardcore enough or has enough free time to do a 1 volume analysis of that many manga D=

Then the premise is false based on the lack of insurmountable evidence. >_>

P.S. Hinata -- would tap.

P.S.S. The new movie is so FuBaR'd. I can't make sense of the character's new personality, etc. They all switched with counterparts. I.E. Gai and Kakashi's personalities.

I think Quest more or less shared this "analysis" with the intention of showing that it's an interesting concept of study rather than for hard facts and evidence.  But yeah, the study is probably skewed one way or another simply because the three chapters included might just so happen to be battle scenes rather than plot explanations...in which it's natural that there will be more pictures and less text.

And as for the new movie, I don't quite understand the Kishi's choice of personality shifts.  Hinata looks sassy for lack of a better term, and shouldn't Sasuke be emo and mope somewhere rather than being a sociable butterfly like it's implied?

I love how most of the stuff is in the center, with Bleach all on its own in its little corner.
Is there a chart that rates the complexity of the art? Maybe we can get out 3D glasses, and have "art complexity" on the 3rd axis. That way, Bleach can be even further in a corner.

You know, because Bleach doesn't use backgrounds.

LAUGH!!

Dude, this happened weeks ago. He was on Bath Salts and died when shot in the chest, I believe.
Also, the victim survived, and despite his injuries (inducing losing an eye), he is still alive, and not devouring the flesh of the living.

Well, nothing interesting lately except that Japanese just developed technology which allows a virtual avatar to mirror the facial expressions of a user using only a webcam.

Kishimoto stuffed Gary Oak's soul inside of Sasuke. That would explain everything!

Xbox 720 Specs Leaked

A leaked document purporting to show Microsoft’s plans for the Xbox 720 has been circulating widely, with plenty of attention being attracted by its low price and even lower specs.

According to the leaked document, apparently an internal company presentation circulated in 2010, the Xbox 720 would:
Quote
Have a Blu-ray drive

Have various hardware options including SSD, HDD, Wifi, Wimax, etc.

Be 6 to 8 times more powerful than the 360

Have 360 compatibility

Incorporate “Kinect 2″

Have full native 3D support

Be accompanied by the 2014 release of “Kinect Glasses”

Be priced at $299, for release in 2013

Sell 100 million units
(http://i1049.photobucket.com/albums/s394/QQcloud/etc/xbox-720-1.jpg)
The document’s provenance and authenticity is of course unknown, but the fact that the original 56-page PDF file it came as was taken down only hours after it went up at the request of a legal firm with ties to Microsoft may be telling.

However, as the document dates from 2010, even should it be authentic it is possible significant changes could have been made to their plans in the interim.

Microsoft itself has not so far publicly released any meaningful information about its plans for an Xbox successor console.

For reference when the real deal comes out in 2013. Then we can compare and decide if it's worth getting. I mean, the system cost is $225, with the said features. If they cut a few things out, but sell it at an even higher price (more than $299), then you can safely say that they are simply cheating your money.

I think "cheating your money" is a very lose term once you consider how much time and effort that has been put into the industry. If you think you can make something equal or greater, then I'll gladly give you like $100 more than they retail it for, to produce a better product.

Unfortunately, they can't really sell it at a price that weights the same as the work they put into its development thou. There are a few alt consoles out there after all. Big titles would most likely be available for the PC or Sony's console as well. Handheld might sell better than bulking high-spec consoles in the next generation, if they can make the battery last a good 3-5 hours or more.

You might as well post up the comments (from S.C) that address the story as well, some of them are pretty insightful. Oh wait, that wouldn't make it your news, then.

Good idea! Alternatively this topic could be locked, and a new thread open titled "Sankaku News For All Ages"! Although the 'exploding Chinese' dilemma might have a negative effect on some of the younger members of SL's community...

I think making a list of stuff made in China that explode might just do some good, and save some lives and money.

They are however, plenty of people whom I know that frequently visits China. The main reason is because they can get a lot more for their money. But they never seem to consider how much highly toxic, unhygienic, recycled or man-made food they are putting into their mouth while in China. And the poor quality or pirated stuff that they are spending their money on.

I knew about the Human guinea pig since they have clinical trials almost anywhere, just not as high paying, and I also knew about plasma since I think you can do that like once a week or something like that.

Edit: You can sell twice a week

Gah~ Ha! ha! ha! a bunch of villagers in China found a fleshlight and thought it was some sort of mushroom. They ever reported it to the media and said it was one of the ingredients that the emperor was searching for when he ordered his men to create the medicine of immortality. More like immorality XD
