Title: A change in perspective
Post by: Hazama on November 24, 2015, 02:29:18 AM
Alright, at this point we all know that Ichirou has quit SL, and this has become inactive because I wasn't sure about where I was going to take this by myself, but I think I have an idea.

I don't want to get rid of the Hunter's Guild, I just want to add to it. I was thinking of a name change, to perhaps the Hero's guilds, but I'm not completely sure about this.

Instead of focusing solely on just monsters, I'm thinking that we'll start doing 'Quests'. They will have special rewards, from possible items or currency that'll be implemented to get better gear.

The reason I'm thinking of this, is because people who think they wouldn't be strong enough for a hunt, or think they may like it, can still have something to do. Maybe hunting, taking out some rogues, helping a village.

But this is just an idea, one that I want opinions on.

I also want to get the hunts going again, like they were before, and still need people for my other hunt.

I was also thinking of doing something similar to a raid... I'm not sure, though.

I will be removing this as a sub-board soon.
Since this relies heavily upon a few individuals leading the cause, inactivity is extremely harmful.

However, if activity picks up, it will remain. =)

Well, let's refocus on what the point of the Hunts were. Activity dropped considerably after Ichirou left and the other Hunt had so many people drop. Honestly, "Hunter's Guild" is pretty open for interpretation on what goes in there.

However, if the board is to be saved, something substantial has to be done.

We could make it a bundter's guild. Everyone likes cake.

Or Punter's Guild. Everyone likes kicking balls.

Assumes he was going to say Chump.

Well I suppose to just have the threads moved to the mission headquarters would work. Personally I was looking forward to the hunts I was participating in or GMing. Whatever you call it...

I'm trying to keep this is as sub-board, so don't talk about it like it's already over!

Hence my new ideas for activity and such, though so far it seems no one will put two cents on it >> Or put up their own ideas x.x

I can't make this all work by myself, not fully.

Athos,

I feel need more helping hands than ideas. We can all give you great ideas but at the end of the day, you're still the only person running the guild. >.>

And you can set your watch to him suddenly dropping off the face of the earth with no warning. There always needs to be more than one person in a command role for this site, as the wiki has shown us.

I don't plan on denying that xD

I full well plan on getting other hands to help me >> As I have told you before, Mei. Two people could barely do this, let alone one, especially because I want to expand what it is we do with this stuff.

I've already got people I am going to talk to about helping, so no one needs to worry about that. What I need, like I said, is ideas xD And comments on my ideas.

Hero's Guild = Mission Headquarters + Hunter's Guild

I might actually do that in about a month.
Merge the boards. =)

And the name change might encourage others to role play how *they* please.

Ideas?

the beast hunts are great. Might add in some real warriors to go up against for kicks. And not just we are the good guys and stopping the bad guys either. But craft sinister quests too. People like to be bad and evil now and then.

You could have Dark Quests. A counter agency to the hunters themselves where things pan out for the bad guys. What do they call that? Ah, alternate universe.

Questing missions seem to be enjoyable.

The main thing is stay active. When it is up and running, it worked fine. Minor delays that could be avoided would be nice.

Same thing with Shadow's Quest to the East. If someone drops out? Keep it going, craft some unoffensive explanation to CC the lagging or missing character out of the way and proceed. Attention span dies really quick if there is nothing to do more than once a week.

How do I get involved in this? The idea interested me when I saw it a month or two back.

well I suggest putting you into Ichirou's slot in all the hunts he is no longer in, or at least one if it would be too many at once for you.

But talk to Athos. It's his baby! Maybe he could just tag team him out and you in?
Read the quests just in case? On each hunt...well I think this link is the listing of who is in what hunt.

I like that idea, actually.  Not only adding quests for people to be Hero's but where they can be the bad guy as well. I think that may actually be something to further elaborate on and add to the idea I am working with now.

I am currently checking with people who are in some Hunts to see which either need new members or may need scraping completely.

And on a side note, Shadow has left me in charge of the Eastern Trek stuff, so I'm currently checking with members of that right now, as well, and trying to get others in on it as well.
