Title: Spanish Translations.
Post by: Abysss on May 17, 2007, 09:29:31 PM
Yo quiero translado ingles para espanol en Shinobi Legends. No quiero plomo pero ayudo con el  persona plomo.
I want to translate english to spanish in Shinobi Legends. I don't want to lead but to help the lead person.

---------

I hope I'm good enough to help but as long as someone makes the translation it doesn't matter ^_^

I'd also like to help translating in Spanish... I probably wouldn't make the best leader, just because  I don't know all of the grammatical rules of the spanish languahe, but I know most. It's also my native language, so I think I'd be able to help out.

d) language proficiency. sounds ridiculous, but everything below "A" language skills are not sufficient. The language you translate into has to be a language you are fluent and very proficient in it.

So it does matter ^.^

And, unless I'm mistaken: "Yo quiero translado" should be "Yo quiero traducir"? Not sure.

And also: "Ingles para espanol" to "inglés al español"? Not sure ^.^

You're also missing some accents.

Do a search for Character Pallete (Believe that's what it's called.) Should be Start menue --> Accessories. Somewhere there if I remember. Might be under system tools though.

Oh, I'm not saying that he isn't capable enough to do it.. it could be his native tongue for all I know. But if it isn't, then more schooling would be more appropriate for a job as a translater because there is where you learn proper grammar and spelling and such...

Not true. If you've only taken 1 year then I highly doubt you've learned everything about the Imperfect Tense, past participle, preterite, and some of the other tenses as well as the irregular shoe verbs. If we do choose somebody, they will all mostly need to be close to being fluent in the language. (We don't want to look bad by having typos and errors all over the place.)

So...Neji wants a team set up if this were to happen...so far I guess Abyss is the only one working on this for now i guess...how many years did you take Spanish for Abyss anyway??

EDIT: I guess you can say I know 4 languages...English, my native tongue (which I am fluent in), another language from my "home country" which I can understand, not fully speak, and I am learning another language....so if I can't help in this language there is still another I can do...

No me recuerdo si fue el préterito simple o imperfecto. Fue hace mucho tiempo. :\

No me recuerdo si fue el préterito simple o imperfecto. Fue hace mucho tiempo. :\

Hmmm that'd be either "No me acuerdo" or "no recuerdo", not a mix of both (that reminds me of my problem with that "getting married to someone" or "marrying someone" (and the infionity of mixes between them) stuff xD).

The rest is perfect, though  ;)

Correct me if I am wrong, but I just want to make sure what they are.....is it like if a word is ending with an -ar then you drop the -ar and put the words e, aste, amos, o, asteis, or aron am I right....???

And no, the preterites are two forms of the past. But, -e, -aste, -asteís, and -aron are the ways you can end verbs that end in -ar  that are conjugated in the simple preterite tense. :]

that's pretty much the way to do this preterito perfecto simple with the regular verbs ended in -ar, yeah

Spanish verbs sound like a pain to learn, though xD

I don't want to be hasty and what not, but if things do go well with translating German, Tagalog, and French...other languages will very likely be added. Now we, the people who want Spanish to be translated, should come up with a team. I mean we could help make the team, but then of course Neji will ultimately make the final decisions. I am just posting this idea because if Neji says, other translations have gone well...lets do other translations as well, the Spanish team would be ready...so what do you think...we don't have to start right away, but at least think about this just a little more.

Well, like always i rush and make conclusions so i posted something on forum applications.

Ok, ill say the same thing here...

------------- Spanish / Español -------------

Mi idioma fluido y nativo es el español, es decir si necesitan traducir un texto, la ayuda para traducirlo o en si mismo corregirlo, pueden contar conmigo y seguro que con mucha gente que ya lei.

Hablo el español venezolano (mas que nada eso es por el Acento y palabras colquiales o jerga) es decir, es el español mas neutral que existe.

como ya dije, pueden contar conmigo para cualquier traduccion del ingles al español por supuesto viceversa es un poco mas complicado.
--------------------

----------------------------- English/ Ingles ------------

My fluid and native language is Spanish, i mean if you need to translate a text, help to translate it or to correct it, you can count with me.

I speak the Venezuelan Spanish (it is for the Accent or slang) is the Spanish more neutral that exist.

As i already said, you can count with me for any translation, English to the Spanish of course  vice versa it is a little more complex.

Oh, thx for corrections =), you said? but there has to be none? ......  i hope you wont misunderstand this, but to someone speak his native or matern language at a 100% its nearly impossible, you would have to be a human dictionary and know all the grammars laws, im not arguing, is just that i didnt understood what you meant with   But there has to be none....

Im just saying if you need support (for not say help, may sound in wrong way) i would be here.

If you say your Spanish is better, which it could be true, then when you say COUNT WITH ME, it still says that in Spanish. It says contar conmigo, which still means count with me. Next, in a part of your English writing it says, English to the Spanish. You don't need the. In Spanish you wrote ingles al español, last time I knew al = a+el, correct me if I am wrong. Now el means the, and you  don't need it in this case. So so far, you made errors in English as well as Spanish. In English when you wrote, OF COURSE VICE VERSA IT IS, made no sense to me.

What I mean by you can't have any mistakes when trying to translate Spanish is that if there are mistakes and they don't get fixed then Shinobi Legends would kind of look bad. This problem would not happen in the first place if the person who was translating was fluent enough.

So even if your English is bad, why did I find mistakes in your Spanish as well?

El = the--.   Al= to.... your not wrong i did made a mistake there.... translating that sentence TO spanish =  Ingles Al EL (to The) Español.

you made errors in English as well as Spanish- in this case i disagree, in spanish there are not grammar errors, except accents....  á.é, ( i mean  that kind of accents).... except from this 1 colquiales is  Coloquiales. i spelled bad that word

coloquial means in a rough way, that is from one especific site (place, state, country)

there are not grammar errors....
Title: Re: Spanish Translations.
Post by: Ace on June 14, 2007, 08:00:33 PM
In Spanish you didn't use the right words. YOU SAID CONTAR CONMIGO, which means count with me, that's wrong. Even if you didn't make grammar errors, you still need to use the right words. There are more things than grammar errors that people need to look for in a sentence like sentence structure and what not. You have to know which word to use at what times. You are trying to say you didn't make grammar mistakes, when did I say you did.

Don't get me wrong or anything, I'm not to insult you, or trying to make you look bad.

In Spanish you didn't use the right words. YOU SAID CONTAR CONMIGO, which means count with me, that's wrong. Even if you didn't make grammar errors, you still need to use the right words. There are more things than grammar errors. You have to know which word to use at what times. You are trying to say you didn't make grammar mistakes, when did I say you did.

Don't get me wrong or anything, I'm not to insult you, or trying to make you look bad.

Don't get me wrong or anything, I'm not to insult you, or trying to make you look bad.

I know you are not  :D is just that we have different point of view (right?)

well... with  pueden contar conmigo is Slang or coloquial and its also a neutral word that may works for Count numbers (contar numeros) and count with support (contar con apoyo)  (contar conmigo), and maybe in english will sound bad, but lets say it in another way, Pueden dejarmelo a mi, puedo ayudarlos, Saben que CUENTAN conmigo.

A la hora de cualquier problema pueden avisarme y yo los ayudo (in a more long and complex way)

PS: Ace please check my Post named  Translating into Spanish.... i will posted it in like 1h to 2 h..

Well....I'm not sure if Neji wants slang when translating into Spanish. So for now I am going to wait and see what Neji says.

When you said, A la hora de cualquier problema pueden avisarme y yo los ayudo, I see that you don't want to be the lead translator, but you're there is they need help, you just want to help if needed right?

Also Ulrich, can we see some paragraphs or can I see you have a conversation in Spanish with Dante?

Yeah your right we are having a "CONVERSATION" but this not a conversation im gathering all that i can in here so it will be easier for the admins to read...

that wouldnt be nice because it will be a huge mess of posting.......

------ EDIT---------
i found this, How to post here (language Thread)

I quote all.....

First of all, if you want to contribute and translate parts of the game to your language, you may do so, but please only open a thread for your language if you are sure you have enough time.

Do not underestimate it! For each language, I expect about 18.000 (yes, 18k) text fragments to be translated.

Creatures, Masters, Weapons, Taunts won't be translated by the way.

If you are sure, open a new thread like "Spanish translations" or likewise for other languages and put in a short description about it... what you are willing to do and how proficient you are in that language.

<--_please_, only people who are *really really* good in that language (there are rumours that even native speakers aren't always)

well dude, the last word if for the admins so, if it have to be merged.......

Ye Olde Bank
As you approach the pair of impressive carved rock crystal doors, they part to allow you entrance into the bank. You find yourself standing in a room of exquisitely vaulted ceilings of carved stone. Light filters through tall windows in shafts of soft radiance. About you, clerks are bustling back and forth. The sounds of gold being counted can be heard, though the treasure is nowhere to be seen.

You walk up to a counter of jet black marble.

Post by: Dante on June 16, 2007, 02:08:53 AM
Hi!!!!   im back with more translations, i will like to add that all this translations are being made in game, i mean i have (by now) a Acad, so i dont have the gold for buying options to translate, so i apologize for the "incomplete material" FOR NOW!!!...

Remember that when i write something in white that means is important for read and sometimes is for asking HELP!!!!....

well.. this time is: Battle Arena, Ze gipsy tent, Oliver's Jewelry,Jiraiya's Hot Springs, the gardens and The loveshack
i have more but i dont wanna make a hyper huge post so this time only this ones.

Attention, I avoid translate spoilers, so there are not any spoilers (unless you have played 2 mins of the game or not even started)

The Battle Arena is full of spectators, the noise is deafening. There are warriors fighting in the center arena. There is a door marked Veteran's Lounge. You notice a plaque on the wall.

On the plaque it says the local Battle Arena Champion is  X

La Arena de Batalla esta llena de espectadores, el sonido es ensordecedor. Hay guerreros peleando en el centro de la arena. Hay una puerta marcada El salon de los Veteranos. Notas tambien una placa en la pared.

En la placa dice que el campeon local de la arena de batalla es X

At the registration table you see that you can fight the following warriors.
Konohamaru Level 9

Battling at the arena takes 1 turn.

It is recommended you be in your best condition when you battle.
Additionally, your hitpoints will be restored up to the amount you enter the arena, not more, not less. We don't want to be used as cheap healing opportunity.

If you lose against a fighter here, you will also lose battlepoints.

You are required to pay an entry fee to battle in the arena.
However you notice that your pockets are empty.

Battle Arena of Fire Country

Look at the news.
X has beaten Y in the Battle Arena of Rice Field Country perfectly!
Z has beaten X in the Battle Arena of Rice Field Country!

Arena de batalla de la nación del fuego.

Mirando las noticias.
Z ha derrotado a X en la arena de batalla de la nación del fuego Sin ser herido.
X ha derrotado a Y en la arena de batalla de la nacion del fuego

Ze gipsy tent

You duck into a gypsy tent like many you have seen throughout the countries. All of them promise to let you talk with the deceased, and most of them surprisingly seem to work. There are also rumors that the gypsy have the power to speak over distances other than just those of the afterlife. In typical gypsy style, the old woman sitting behind a somewhat smudgy crystal ball informs you that the dead only speak with the paying. "For you, my handsome, the price is a trifling 100 gold.", she rasps.

Off in the corner, you see a dark bowl of water sitting atop a silver tray. Noticing your gaze, the old gypsy woman rasps, "Ahh, perhaps you seek to talk to people in one of the other towns? I could do that -- for the very small price of 100 gold." You also have X favours with Shinigami.

Lah Tienda gitana

Oliver's Jewelry

You step into Oliver's Jewelry Store and are greeted by a elderly man in spectacles. Oliver folds his hands on a small bench and his eyes twinkle.

"Good day, come to see the fine wares, have ye?"

You see another bench showcasing some of his fine work, and wonder whether to take a closer look.

Joyeria de Oliver

Entras en la joyería de Oliver y eres saludado por un hombre anciano con anteojos.
Oliver se agarra de un pequeño banco y sus ojos centellean.

“Buen día, viniste a ver la fina mercancía, verdad?

Ves en un mostrador su trabajo de excelente calidad, y piensas si puedes verlo mas cerca.

Jiraiya's Hot Springs
You enter the magnificent establishment and look around in awe. The hot springs in Konoha are always beautiful, but spas are a big business and Fire Country IS famous for them...

There are two buildings, obviously one for males and the other for females. As you approach the counter, a large man wearing a red overcoat with long white hair appears behind it. You realize its Jiraiya, the owner of the spa.

"Hello, Hello, welcome to Jiraiya's Hot Springs. What can i get for you today?" You blink a few times amazed at this guys enthusiasm and appearance. Jiraiya doesn't seem very patient, so you'd better make your decision quickly.

The Gardens

You walk through a gate and on to one of the many winding paths that makes its way through the well-tended gardens. From the flowerbeds that bloom even in darkest winter, to the hedges whose shadows promise forbidden secrets, these gardens provide a refuge for those seeking out Orochimaru and his gang; a place where they can forget their troubles for a while and just relax.

One of the town ninja is strolling about the garden and walks up to remind you that the garden is a place for roleplaying (romantic especially) and peaceful conversation, and to confine out-of-character comments to the other areas of the game.

For those who do inappropriate roleplaying here or start to fight or generally disturb: Ban

The loveshack

As you stroll towards an imposing building, you notice a red heart-shaped door in the side...
Walking towards the garish portal, a strange feeling comes over you, and knowledge pours into your head.
Maybe a chance possibility, collapsed.. what would have happened?
With this knowledge, a catchy little song sounds in your head... "Bang, bang, bang on the door baby.." ... "The Love shack, is a little old place where.. we can get together.."

Shivering, you snap out of a semi-trance.. what on earth was that?
Knocking on the ornamented gateway, you wait for the door to open, and enter the Loveshack.

Someone strolls up to you, and begins to speak...

Gai enquires as to how he may help you.

Gai se pregunta como podria ayudarte.

There is a topic where you could post your imput...
But go ahead and show us what you can do first.
You won't be putting Spanish *bad* words on this game, you will be putting many complicated words.
If your not up to it then please say so.

You failed to read my post, *YOU* won't be putting bad words...so delete that post Ulrich.

So are we going to actually try translating this or simply keep saying "We, qué bien se me da el español, gente!" again and again?

Hey!!!..... this post is not intended for spam nor double posting...

but, come on, i was making a huge post only translating spanish, really organized, and now is merged with this 1???

well, i totaly disagree, i would like to know the reason that why was merged, i didnt broke any rules, i didnt say bad words, and on the rules of posting the admin said that if we know any language open a thread for that.

Can the admin that merged my topic with this 1 give me a reasonable explanation, now, all my work is just messed out with another posts....

im not arguin or scolding i simply wana know WHY?!!!.... i mean, did the one that merged it, took 5 minutes and read all my work?... i mean come on, at least u could advice...
----------EDIT----------
i wrote it angry so i spelled bad some words.

obvio que sí, soy española. Lo puse antes en algun sitio hace... meh, ni sé cuánto tiempo xD

Anyways, your topic was merged with this one because there should only be a thread for each translation. I actually have noo idea how is a translating group supposed to be organized or stuff, though

well, then i cant do anything about that....

Yo soy venezolano y bueno estaba traduciendo parte por parte SL, que lastima que solo sea UN Topic por idioma, asi se me complica mucho el trabajo y pierde toda la organizacion...

Bueno, que se hace.

Would you care to start talking in Spanish?

Talk about a sport you like, a game you play, etc...After writing it in Spanish please translate it into English.

Hola soy de México y se hablar y escribir en español muy bien, si puedo ayudar en algo sere muy feliz  :D

Hi I am from Mexico and I know how to talk and write in spanish very well, if I can help in something I will be very happy! :D

Example:

Ichiraku's Ramen

You duck into a ramen resturant that you know well. The pungent aroma of fresh noodles fills the air.
You wave to several patrons that you know. You give a special wave and wink to Tenten who is serving drinks to some locals. Ichiraku the innkeep stands behind his counter, chatting with someone. You can't quite make out what he is saying, but it's something about Frequently Asked Questions.

The clock on the mantle reads 10:15 pm.

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Tambien tengo mucho tiempo libre.
I also have a lot of free time.

Tsugaru, please stop it.

Doing this disqualifies you from being a translator.

Lol Definetly, but have translaters been picked yet? I can't wait to see SL in spanish ^^
I'd also like to see it because if the tranlaters made it, it could be a good learning tool for me XD A little selfish but I'm sure others would like it more than me.

All around you, the people of the city of Konoha Gakure move about their business. No one seems to pay much attention to you as they all seem absorbed in their own lives and problems. Along various streets you see many different types of shops, each with a sign out front proclaiming the business done therein. Off to one side, you see a very curious looking rock which attracts your eye with its strange shape and color. People are constantly entering and leaving via the city gates to a variety of destinations.

Hey, its konoha gakure's first paragraph, i wish you let me work for make that game be in spanish language too, it will make it more popular for spanish people, i think its a great game and i will be pleased if i can work for it.

Ey, este es el primer paragrafo de konoha gakure, espero que me dejeis trabajar para hacer que este juego tambien este en español, esto lo ara mas popular para los españoles, creo que este es un gran juego y estare encantado si puedo trabajar para el.

Hey, guess what? I passed Spanish 2 and got a 100% in every quarter and on the final! But I'm not nearly fluent at Spanish >_>
You really need to grow up in the country and have way more than 2 years spent exposed to that language <<

My main language is spanish and some things are wrong in what you translated.

Acabo pasado 2 español en mi escuela secundaria y todos A's en ella, it is wrong it is:  Acabo de pasar español 2 en mi escuela secundaria, con puras A's en la materia

it makes more sense when you read it, but well I don't think that Neji is searching for more translators, German translators still haven't finished with their work so, you need to wait and see if the admin wants to transladate the game to more languages.
