I was discussing this with my friend and wondered what everyone else thought in my opinion Itachi is the strongets and always will be.

I agree you with on the personal liking, i myself believe Deidara is very strong, yet somehow i believe yondaime is better.

its still not certain, zetsu has'nt even fought anybody yet so we dnt know, or tobi in that case. and the 4ht hokage, narutos already close to surpassing him plus naruto just became a sage thingy so idk!

That's a good question, for Kisame maybe Madara convinced him, when he was the Mizukage.
I think that the strongest character is Pein, or Itachi.

I think Madara's sharingan allows him to sort of control other people, thats why i think Pein and all the other members of Akatsuki follow him.

That would explain why Itachi set up that precaution with Sasuke activating Amaterasu if he saw Madara's Sharingan.

Yondaime can defeat a ferious beast and seal it as well, and on the other hand, Itachi can maul a whole family of powerful shinobi, so....

Itachi was pretty strong, but with his deteriorating eyesight, that would have set him back. So I'd have to say Pein or Madara at the moment.

itachi would have been god and he was still young, the reason he lost was because he wanted to lose, and he was also already hurt from another battle as zetsu said during the itachi/sasuke fight

Kakashi said hyouton was one the strongest/u8nstoppable kekkei genkai espicially that ice house move yet naruto and sasuke stoppped it as kids, so is it still strong? Although haku was only a kid and could of been the weakest hyouton user in his clan.

Itachi vs Yondaime... I suppose yondaime has shown his power by fighting the kyuubi and itachi hasnt but he coould just get yondaime in Tsukoyumi (however its spelled) then he could do amertarasu. Then he wins.
