Title: Maybe some sort of module to track city activity?
Post by: Teostra on June 01, 2015, 05:12:31 AM
Would the be some way to have an option to see where the most activity is? I don't know if it would have to be for the whole site or if it could just be set to monitor the main cities. It could be something like

Last Post : 2 Minutes ago
Last Post Location : Kirigakure
Most Active Location of the Day : Konohagakure - 24 posts today

This could kind of give people an idea on where they should be posting in order to find action going on, especially for newer people who may want to get into the RP scene. This is just a basic thought, and I'm sure some other people might be able to add some ideas to it. But I want to hear if anyone else thinks this would be a good thing to implement. It could be located in the area where the FAQ or Wiki links are, so it's easily accessible.

I think using travels wisely and role playing where ever possible would solve this issue. =)

--> may cause for clutter in one location as well

If the problem is not finding "activity" then...
One way to encourage active role play is contributing to it.
Doing so in a proper manner will make others do the same (i.e. lead by example).

Well, it's not even RP that's the issue for me considering that my character's in limbo. I just think it would be nice to have an idea of how much is going on in the cities and to watch how active the site is. Then again, this is just a simple thought. Maybe others can think of better ways to improve my suggestion.

Of course, I am here preaching upon my pedestal from which I am able to view the activity of public chat areas due to enabled superuser flags (a bit bias viewpoint I might add). :/

With regards to displaying "our" level of activity, agreed, ideas are appreciated.

Gather gold. (depending on level) and visit the gypsy tent then scurry all the villages. Be sure to set your post time format in your account settings to relative time. :P

From there you can see which cities have the most recent posts and it works in clans and dwelling as well. ~

I dig this idea. It's one of the few positives of forum rp. Why not add it to the recent news where we read about leveling achievements?

"Genesis has posted in Konohagakure."

It's simple and is do able. It would be extra, extra cool if you could add the clan's you're in but I'll aim Small. The news would serve a purpose finally.

I am basically not against it.

Only villages or all areas? Last one would be hard.

The majority seems to want it applied to the villages at the least if not all areas.

Only the villages would probably be the most reasonable. After all, they are the most public places for RP, so it makes sense that they have activity updates and all that. No idea why one for the clan halls or other relatively private boards (such as dwellings) would be necessary.

The only exceptions I guess would be the frolicking field event and the Curry shop, but people rarely hang out at the former nowadays.

Just villages then, since they're public.

What if it starts in the villages and, if there seems to be any increase in player activity, it could also be expanded to the fighting zones. Seeing as they're a often used public space as well.

Villages for now, with time stamps <--I can fall in line with. =)

Done. But I made relative time values visible, sorted by most recent city comments first.

Works for you?

Where is it? Because when I encountered Konohamaru, all of the times and postings were listed on his "Do you want to prank" page. But I can't find it on the main page anywhere.

I think that having the zones listed would be redundant. You can access them from every village so travel points is not an issue.
