Title: Melodies of the Flute
Post by: LeafToad on November 27, 2006, 03:07:29 AM
K well, thought up this sort of fun event... >.>

I think this event should be more frequent in the Sound Village more than the others...

Resting from your adventures in the forest, you sit on a rock near a serene lake for a while and play in the crystal clear waters. A nice melody surrounds you and being the curious shinobi you are, you hence forth to see what is making such beautiful music. You see a group of 5 people, dressed in black, almost as if mourning something.

options:
- Stop the flute players
- Carry on (the event ends with this option.)

When you "Stop the flute players" They say that they roam the villages, spreading their melodies of the precious flute wherever they go. You inquire as to why they are all dressed in black. The tell you of a story, in which they tell you of a previous. Her name was Tayuya. In the hands of Orochimaru, she has caused great trouble to the inhabitants of <village you encountered event in>... and so, to mourn their losses, they play the flute and dress in black.

options:
- Listen to the flute (lose two turns)
- No thanks (event ends)

When you "listen to the flute" There are two outcomes.

Outcome 1:

You listen to the tune of the flute, and it surrounds you with warmth and rejoice. You then begin to feel a mysterious presence from the melody. Soon, a creature comes about the noise of the flute, you feel this could be a dangerous situation. The musicians look in awe, and curse themselves for letting this come about. With a quick glance at you, they tell you that they sometimes cannot control what comes out of their flute, be it noise, or the creature you are facing now. The creature looks like a blue wind, with a black aura surrounding it. You pull out your weapon, ready for a fight.

~~~Fight~~~
You have encountered Creature of the flute, which lunges at you with Harsh melodies!
Note: attack, defense, hp can all be decided by Neji
If you die, you die, lose 10% exp.
If you win:
The cowardly musicians return, in awe at the creature slain, they give you a reward (reward(s) will be decided by Neji) and leave, forever thanking you of your kind deed.
Note: You gain no exp, just the reward, I think there are enough exp events out there. :)
Outcome 2:
They play the flute for a while and you feel a warmth from the great music.
You feel healthy (health increases will be decided by Neji)
When they are finished, they demand something for playing you a melody.
options:
- Don't give them anything
- Give them gems & gold (event ends with lost of 2-5 gems and 500 gold)
If you choose the option "Don't give them anything" they use their flute to make a dragon(like a blue wind), that carries you to the center of <town you are in> and rough you up a bit, then take the gems and gold they requested. You then lose charm after from embarrassment.
And... that's about it... Tayuya isn't that big of a character, but it fits the Naruto theme.
Doesn't sound bad, however, I disagree with PrincessNinja.
Maybe have the reward increase/decrease with your level due to the fact of a stronger creature?
It only makes sense.
But other than that, I actually like it.
I don't really know... I was thinking it could just be a 50/50 thing. Alignments wouldn't really fit into it if you are fighting a 'creature of the flute'. But maybe Being of the sound could influence it. I'm open to suggestions...
What about the more recent episodes of Naruto? (although they ARE filler)
You could get a boon that raises your attack and defense to incredible levels for awhile...
All people want are boons.
I could make a special:
"You meet Megaman. He gives you 10 atk points, original with certificate. Have fun"
and people would love it.
:D
You know what the main thing about Menma was? He did only use the flute.. and *others* did benefit from that.
He was necessary for that and the "boost" did not last very long.
Speak of AD&D, Menma was a bard.
Consider the ninjas to be Rogues/Fighters.
Then Menma would be the supporter who uses that jutsu in a battle to boost his teammates.
Where is the fault here? You have no team members. =)
also "incredible"... no, I would say it about doubles it.
more temporary attack/defense would be really bad since lots of people decided to stop forever in level 15  :-?
Yes, sure, the 2k defense which SinHarvest had make me really feel there is so little stuff you can get in the game... what a pity...
*after being profusely beat about the head by Neji, crawls into a corner and stays in the fetal position*
Wow, I haven't been keeping track of my own topic.
I don't want any boons that contain temp attack and defense... or an event that grants you experience or health..
