Edit Note: Athos and I have decided to title this group "The Hunters Guild"
I was discussing with Athos about a group that i'd like to create on the site here, for Monster hunters.
I'm trying to start a group of people who want to perform rp together (probably here on the forum, but we could do it on the site if it's preferred) and hunt crazy huge and deadly monsters that are roaming the lands through various means.
And these aren't one hit one kill monsters either, their legit powerful just for the sake of overcoming something super strong you know? It's awesome.
Hopefully we can get a lot of people to jump on board, cause i'd like to have a Child board on the village square for the Monster hunters where we could keep all of our rps of our adventures and things of the like!
Edit: We've been growing quickly already! With the Hunt board system that we're going to set up, i'm going to list all of the new Hunters here, and it will be decided which hunts they attend as they are posted up (I mention the Hunt board below, i've just been updating this a lot with new information.)

Current Hunts:
The Beta Hunt - located within the village square if you'd like to give it a read, to get a feel for what we plan to do here.
As of now all of the titles are story related, as the guild of Monster hunters (We don't really have a special name yet, but we can come up with one for sure.) grows. But as time goes on the titles will probably become more Contract related and more about the hunt itself.
What we may do (depending on how the Child board thing goes, because I would like to have one before I did extensive setting up, just because I don't want to clutter the square with all Monster hunter stuff) is set up an actual base of operations, like a Guild hall, and within this hall would be a board with the current listings of the available hunts, these listings will include the number of participants required, the number of participants currently signed up, and a general location of where the hunt will occur. The information on the beast that will be hunted will be disclosed during a briefing before the hunt begins in RP, to keep a little mystery about it.
Here are a few basic rules that we decided to set up, we probably wont need any rules beyond this.
Rule 1. First things First, the only ones with technical ranks in the Guild are myself and Athos as we are the ones who created the guild, outside of that there are no ranks whatsoever, no one is higher than anyone else and no one has undeniable Authority
Rule 2. No monster that we encounter (Big or small) is to be GM'd as a 'One-hit Monster'. Meaning that we actually want challenge to be present with all of our hunts, give us something to strive against and keep the rp lively.
Rule 3. There is to be no bad blood in the guild. If there is an issue between two individuals or a group of individuals it is to be presented to either myself or Athos and handled accordingly. Under no circumstances should anything be kept secret as far as concerns with other hunters within the guild.
Rule 4. If you're going to take an extensive time to post, please be courteous about it and inform the others involved in the hunt with you, I'd really like for us to not get locked up in our hunts and things of the like, but I understand people have irl stuff too.
It hasn't been discussed whether or not we'll allow a single individual to take on several hunts at once, it's a possibility that we'll set a limit, i.e Ichirou can only assume two hunts simultaneously, that way every single rp in the Hunters Guild isn't filled with Exactly the same people every time, but this will call for more GMs so let us know if you're interested

Welcome aboard! I was thinking that once we got everyone or a lot of people built up we can have a meet and greet rp and go ahead and do a hunt, and then as new people join we can induct them or something of the like, just to add a little more rp to it. We can have like a Base of operations and everything.

If this is based on the game, then a max of four is a must! (unless we're going against Raviente or another of comparable size lol)

But here is a good a place as any, that's where Rusaku and Deathstroke put up their fight. So why not put our hunt there? xD

I'll take the role of GM for this particular hunt, since it's the beta hunt. But we can discuss other people being Gms for other monsters or anythiing that they find that they'd like to hunt,

Good question. Because that means the GM will have to know everything about the monster in the current battle to fight properly.
Example: Rathian. The GM would have to know that she's got poisonous tail spikes and can shoot fireballs when compared to Rathalos, who's got poisonous claws and shoots fireballs.
Basic example, but an example nonetheless.
But I'm sure that can all be done in the flavor text introducing the monster.

Yeah, we'll have to switch around the GM for the monster because it'd get boring with it always being the same person o: And tiring.
And I don't know if we'll be using direct monsters from Monster Hunters o.o But it's a good place to get ideas from xD

I mean as long as whoever approaches with the hunt knows alot about what we're trying to kill choosing Gms will be easy as long as people look for ideas,
Monster Hunter is a good place to get inspiration but it can be literally anything,

Good idea with the list, If a fourth joins will we GM the next hunt cooperatively? Or will we decide which one of us Gms this particular one and the other can start the next hunt should their be enough participants

I was hoping that we could get a Child board in the village square for this (With Athos and myself as moderators maybe?) especially since we gathered a pretty good amount of support in one night, we got two more hunts set up already

Like the first hunt is called Beta hunt, so people know which thread is their hunt? I think you are going to have many and will need to keep them straight.
Up for GMing a hunt sometime if required.

That's a good idea o.o I like the titles and all o: For now. We may run out and have to switch to something related to the hunt.
But I like Kay's idea of posting that in the first post, too o: So people won't have to search for it.

We're trying to avoid points and things just because we don't want anyone to have 'ranks', per se o.o And if we start adding numbers, it's almost the same thing >> Despite the fact that it would be awesome.
And I was thinking of getting rewards you can use for monster hunting for each successful hunt o: Maybe even something made out the beast that was killed!

Soooo. I've got the basic schematics for the next 12 hunts. Monsters for them and everything. I'd like a child board for better organizing of all of this but if everyone would rather I can go ahead and set more of the Guild stuff up in the village square and it can get moved whenever a child board gets made or something? Thoughts?

Yeah we don't have to finalize the Beta hunt to go ahead and get started, once I post up all the listings and things we can go ahead and start hunts that fill up member quotas,
I'm still debating whether or not each pre-briefing should include a picture of the beast, or if we should wait until we're in the actual rp to reveal the beast.

I don't know about everyone else but I personally like the mystery of not knowing what we are fighting, at least until we get there for the mission IC o: Just so this way people don't know what they are getting themselves into xD

Awesome! Thanks, I've always been a fan of Monster Hunter and Toukiden Kiwami.
I find it would be cool to not know what the heck is going to pop up until you get there, then post a picture up.
The idea of crafting from the remains is a solid idea, though the points would in my opinion start to cause issues.
There are dozens of monsters out there You could adapt to use chakra or something similar. Some of them down right creepy and gargantuan.
Something like this for instance could be used to shoot acid or poisonous mist.

What if the points don't matter? Like bragging points. Just keeps track of how many hunts you've done but doesn't mean anything.
Just like Monster Hunter. A G-Ranked hunter could technically still be killed by a lowly bullfango.

If anything until i get the chance to hunt, I would like to help with monster selection and abilities if possible, I've got tons of time and wouldn't mind helping out. I've also got a bunch of monster hunting games <.< that i wouldn't mind playing and watching their attack's and sequences to help provide possible abilities and the like.

What I think would be great is to move all the monster hunting threads over to mission headquarters, sticky-fy the rules and lists and current missions, change the name of the board to Monster Hunter's Guild and have at it.
With or without the name change, that child board is already dead as can be and could be put to good use.

Alright, I'm setting up another hunt!
But this time, I am taking a total of six others and myself on a larger scaled hunt.
I may need another GM for it as well, too. So, message me on SL if you're interested about that.

Is it safe to assume that the Earth Breathes Hunt is a bust at this point? If so, I would very much like to join this latest hunt, presuming there are no additional stipulations.

Although it is the responsibility of each participant to commit to activity, it is also the function of a GM to prod members as well.
Pm the heck out of him till he posts! We need these missions to go on. All of them. It's too good an idea to just scrap.

I doubt Yujo is going to continue with us, if anything we can remove him from the hunt and continue ourselves. Unless he and Masane can come to a friendly bypass.

I would appreciate if something of a consensus was reached then, as that way we can a monster fight done and recorded.
