Title: Hunters Guild: Tango in the Tundra.
Post by: Hazama on August 13, 2015, 09:49:23 PM
The ground was covered with thick layers of snow, that seemed to only be slowly adding thanks to the light snowfall that was happening. Athos wasn't exactly a fan of the cold but thanks to his time that he spent with family in Yukigakure, at least he wasn't completely out of his element. The mission notices that had been sent out went to several people, and the mission also warned the members to prepare for harsh weathers.

Athos stood at six feet and seven inches tall, at the mouth of the ice cavern where camp was set up. The ANBU and shinobi that were inside, and hidden around, the cave were in thicker clothes and armor than usual, so that they could also be prepared for the cold environments. The Red Haired male wore only a long sleeved black shirt and pants, his hair tied several times down it's extreme length to keep it controlled. On his elbows and knees, on the outside of his clothing, were his Tutumen, the steam devices that allowed him to create Steam chakra like a suit of armor with a furnace would have.

The man's golden hues looked out onto the Winder Wonderland before him as he waited for everyone to show up.

Yoshi Chikitada arrived at the appointed location in good spirits this day. It had been years since he had hunted anything but Sand Worms and he was itching to branch out in other directions. Having been notified that a hunt was scheduled, he neither knew what the beast might be nor what offenses, if any, the creature had committed. Not all beast were slain to protect the world but often times were just being hunted to harvest as resources. Upon arriving, he would notice the figure of Athos at the mouth of the ice cavern. Chikitada lifted one of his gauntlet covered hands, the heavy gloves protected him from the claws of his hunting birds, Accipiter and Aquila who scouted the upper reaches of the area from the sky. His garments included a grass hat to provide ample shade and protection from the elements, long robes that hid his long underwear, a padded tunic, and a russet cloak. Dark trousers were tucked into the top of knee high leather boots and permitted to blouse out slightly for comfort. Upon his sides were his matched katana, blades that he was never without, and a small pack for possibles.

He would pause near the cave entrance and announce himself.  "Yoshi Chikitada reporting in as requested."

Becquerel was walking up to the cave while reading a map that lead to the location. Considering that this was a place that he had never been, a map was necessary. He arrived at the cave dressed in his usual battle attire, a yellow jumpsuit with red gloves and boots. As well as a heavy cape as white as the snow around them that waved in the wind. Beneath his cape were his pair of shields, connected to each other and fastened to his body with a guige. He also had a fanny pack and two side pouches attached to the belt that helped complete his ensemble.

He wasn't exactly dressed for warm weather, but it didn't seem to bother him at all as he arrived and saw the other two men. "Hi there, I'm Becquerel. I'm guessing you all got the same request that I did." He talked with a smile, but there was something that could still be a little off about him. It was subtle, but still there. His voice made it seem like he was meeting up with some old friends despite the fact that this would be their first meeting. Nor did it seem to carry the weight of the hunt they were about to go out on.

Upon the horizon, the outline of Rusaku could be seen approaching, with some minor difficulty as his feet would sink into the snow with each step. After what seemed like ages, the man would reach the cave entrance where the others had conglomerated. “Sorry I’m late, I got lost on the way here. There was an old lady, and the bag that had all her groceries tore open -” He would stop mid sentence, the gears almost visibly churning within his mind, before he would dismiss the story with a wave of his hand “Never mind, I’m sure you don’t care.”   Quickly he would step inside to and lean himself against one of the icy walls, allowing himself a moment's breath before they would continue on  with their mission.

Once everyone was in the room, Athos would uncross his arms and look at the people in the room as he spoke,"My name is Athos, and it's pleasure to see that all of you have come."  As so further save time, he would continue with,"That it Yoshi, Becquerel, and this is Rusaku." He wanted to gt introductions out the way the best he could, and seeing as he knew Rusaku, he tossed his name in and hoped it wasn't suppose to be a secret. With that handled, the man would move to pull a scroll out from within his pocket and open it out towards them;

, letting them take in the beast as she spoke,"This is the Monster we are hunting today, Hunters. There are small villages in these lands and the Monster almost picks on them for fun. We need to hit it hard, and hit it fast, like with any beast. We'll need to work as a team, any questions?" The man asked as he would roll the scroll up again and slide it into his pocket, crossing his arms over his chest as he'd raise a brow towards them, waiting for their responses.

Chikitada would eye the other men as they gathered, but hold off on extending a greeting until after they were introduced. One peculiarity within his facial movements did occur at mention of Athos' name; his left eyebrow twitched before becoming still once more. He examined the man's features, the unusual height, the hair coloring, and surmised this must be Kyte's father. Seeing no need to upset the apple cart, as it were, he held his peace taking advantage of this opportunity to evaluate the man without pretenses getting in the way.

He would move over to get a look at the beast in question, the thing was huge, a real colossus. Nodding thoughtfully he asked simply,  "Does this beast have any reported abilities other than size and strength?"

Took a look at the beast pictured on the scroll. He hadn't seen anything like it before and, from a scientific point of view, that made him very curious. "Man, that thing looks pretty big." It wouldn't be the first time he's come across a giant foe, and it surely wouldn't be the last. Chikitada made a good point, it'd be hard if they ran in blind. He gave his head a rub as he thought. "Considering its hominid-like features, it's probably pretty smart. We'll definitely need to work together to trick it."

Rusaku would walk over casually to the scroll before examining its contents with his fellow hunters. His mind would race with a series of scenarios of the battle to come, all of which he could come out on top. While it’s humanoid form did in fact suggest some sort of intelligence, he doubted greatly that it was anything miraculous. It’s potential strength was undeniable, but it might lack speed in return for such brutality. Unfortunately, these things were just speculation for he knew not what it could do for certain. For all he knew it would turn out to have swift release and breath fire. “It looks a bit top heavy if I do say so myself." He would chime in, trying to contribute to the group dynamic instead of becoming lost within his own thoughts. "Do you know if any of it’s abilities are chakra based?” His specialty was largely chakra absorption, so if this beast fought with anything but chakra, he could prove to be at a disadvantage.

As they asked their questions, Athos would take in a deep breath as he thought of answers and by the time he was about to let the breath out, he had them,"From what has been seen, it's got... Well, Ice Breath. I've seen it mimic a snow storm in a single breath, to freezing over a village in a coat of ice. So to say, it'd be bad to be hit with this. And it's not chakra, no, but it can still blind the hell out of Dojutsu... Or at least the Sharingan." He addressed Bec's comment after he answered the other questions,"It does seem to be smarter than you would think, but there's still got to be way to beat it."
Athos would look at them as he would cross his arms and take in a deep breath, releasing it in a sigh, his breath showing in the cold weather,"I hate to sound cliche, but we may have to split into two teams of two. If we're going to trick it, perhaps we can make it think that we can alone... Or even, three men to distract and one to try to catch if from behind." As he would say that though, there'd be a small frown that formed on his lips for only a fleeting second before he dismissed that plan,"No, that's got too many risks."

Chikitada would stroke his face leading down into the length of his long beard in thought. Splitting into teams of two could prove to be useful.  "Rather than one lone warrior, teams of two could be advantageous to us. The team in front would provide a lure to the beast, so would have to be able to withstand the focus of his attack long enough for the team behind to strike. Determining a potential weakness to exploit could prove problematic."

He pointed to the shields on his back, but this was meant as a distraction for what he meant. "If anything, I don't mind volunteering myself as a distraction. Out of all of us here, I'm probably the least likely to die from cold. Plus, I would have an easy time trying to annoy it."
Least likely to die was a bit of a lie, but he couldn't really die in the first place. But that was just because of his nature. And if the monster was too busy being focused on him, maybe the others would be able to get a few pot-shots in before it attacked them too.

While he had no inclination of the abilities that his fellow hunters used, aside from Athos, he already had a plan formulated. “I would like to partner with him.” He would point a thumb at Becquerel. “Seeing as the beast does not use chakra, I think I would be more effective in distracting it. I can create avatars that should be able to rival this beast in size, and possibly strength. Without proper knowledge of the beasts ability, that is only speculation.” He would grin goofily at the team “I am fairly confident in my ability to take on that challenge.” He would then turn his head to Athos. “While I cannot formulate proper strategies without full knowledge of my allies abilities, I have come up with an idea. If brute force is not enough to take this on, I suggest we take full advantage of your sealing prowess. As previous leader of the Uzumaki clan, it should be no issue to conjure up a few chakra chain seals to capture the beast. Or if capture is out of the question, then sealing it outright with the Uzumaki sealing formulas.”
Title: Re: Hunters Guild: Tango in the Tundra.
Post by: Hazama on August 14, 2015, 03:09:11 AM
Athos would listen to the suggestions of those around him and give a nod of his head,"Alright, that's how it will be then. As for the seal... It'd take me some time to conjure a seal that big, especially as a last resort. The seal could be instant if I was, per say, sealing you. But do you see the size of that thing. If anything... We could use the Triangle Formula. Which is to place three Uzumaki Seals around the monster, obviously in a triangle, and it will seal the whole area. But even that would take time, given it's size."

After that long winded sentence, the man would catch his breath. It was an idea, surely, but that wouldn't solve the problem completely. Seals could eventually be broken, which could even be the reason this beast rose from the ground. But he didn't get to share that information because the ground would softly begin to shake, and the gentle snowfall outside would start to increase steadily. Front the entrance of the cave would come an ANBU,"It's close. Over the mountain side side to our left." Athos nodded at this, turning to address the people in the cave,"You've all done a great job, thank you. But it's time to close up camp and to evacuate."

They didn't argue, either. The people started to pack and and prepare to leave. Athos would then turn back to his comrades, letting a smirk cross his handsome features,"Looks like the hunt is finally about to start."

Smiled slightly when he felt the earth begin to rumble. Making plans was all well and good, something he highly approved of, but he was itching to get in on some action today. He stepped outside and whistled quite shrilly. His two hunting birds would fly down from the heights to land on his outstretched arms.   "We've got a huge beast, ladies. Shouldn't be too hard to spot. Scout ahead and send little Accipiter back with word."   The two birds flew off in order to attempt and locate the creature. It couldn't be that far away due to the tremors of the ground, unless of course it was much larger than he assumed.

Becquerel looked towards Rusaku and smiled. "Man, you could make something as big as that? That's pretty impressive." Ninja really are amazing is what he thought. He's seen them do crazy things, stuff that seemed impossible. If he wasn't a witness to them he wouldn't have believed them. "But sure, we can team up. Don't bother trying to defend me if something's coming my way though. Use that moment to strike instead." He stepped outside the cave to just get a good look at the surroundings as he waited. He could have likely seen where the monster was in relation to their group, but where would be the fun in that? Instead, he waited to Chikitada's birds to come back.

Rusaku would look to Bec with a confident chuckle “I can do a great many things my friend. And be thankful, it’s not every day you get to see the full extent of an Ōtsutsuki’s power.”

Then the ground would rumble, a feeling he was very in tune with through his seismic sense techniques. “It’s time for the hunt ladies and gentleman.” and with a flick of his white cloak he too would exit the cave.

Once outside his Byakugan would activate, expanding his vision to the staggering levels of 10km in every direction. This would surely put the beast within his range. Sure he knew the monster would be big, but he needed to know exactly what he was going to be up against.

No matter which way you looked at it, this thing was huge. The birds wouldn't even have to pass over the mountains to see the thing looming in the distance. The only reason the men were unable to see it was because of the angle they were at. If they were perhaps a bit higher, they'd see the large beast. To try and put it into perspective, a Full Sized Bijuu would come up just short of his waist, or perhaps even to his waist, depending on the beast.

It was walking by them, blissfully unaware.

Athos would step out the cave as well and take a deep breath as he would roll his shoulders, starting to walk towards the thing a bit before stopping,"We should start to head over there soon, depending on how long it takes for your birds to come back." He said calmly, crossing his arms over his chest.

Accipiter was a swift little thing and she winged it back to Chikitada landing on his outstretched arm, digging her claws into the heavy glove. A few choice words exchanged and he hefted her back up into the air once more.

"She says the beast if over that direction and by the sounds of it much bigger than even I expected. Looks like we got ourselves a real prize trophy in the making here lads."  The elder Yoshi was not a verbose man, but a few drinks would certainly loosen him up some. But that was for evening back at the gathering hall where lies were told and tales could be swapped in peace. He was well aware they had a mission to tend to. He gestured in the direction the bird flew off, totally unnecessary given all there ability to see, and said,  "Shall we be off then?

He looked towards the group with a smile. "Well, time to not get killed by it. After we split up, we'll give you some time before he and I start distracting this giant." He looked at his partner. "Should I launch the first strike, or do you want to do your giant thing? I don't know if you need to prepare or not."
He was ready to move, waiting for Rusaku to do the same. Whenever they did start moving, he would explain his plan. "I was thinking I could grab a tree or maybe a big rock and hurl it at one of its eyes. As long as I lead the target, I can hit it for sure...As long as it doesn't notice us though. I anticipate success rate of about forty-three percent, judging by the fact that it might move its head once it catches sight of it. If it wasn't so tall, I'd be able to wing it right at him, but that distance I got to cover is a lot. And things take time to get places."

Rusaku would listen closely to Bec, his words sparking somewhat of an idea. “Well, instead of trying to get it with brute force alone, Athos and I could actually use the Shadow imitation technique together and try to bind the beast while you deliver some damage with Yoshi. I know if Athos and I can power up to our fullest, we could surely hold the beast for several moments at least, giving you all a window to strike.”

He would focus in on the beast with his byakugan as the pair moved, the size of the beast far more intimidating than he imagined. “Though if we do stick with my initial idea, I will indeed require a moment or three to get the chakra flowing. Something like this is going to take some juice ya know?”

Quickly he would reach into his pack and draw out a kunai in the shape of a lighting bolt, and would toss it through the air to bec. “It’s marked with my seal. I should be able to get to you at a moment’s notice with that if things go downhill."

The beast stepped forward, though it's eyes would start to scan the area before it, hoping to try and catch more humans in it's path.

Athos would listen to what Rusaku said and would nod his head,"That could work, sure. But even with my skill and yours, we'd be only able to get a few minutes... If anything, that'll be our plan B, if anything goes wrong." And with that, Athos would turn and start to walk towards the beast with Yoshi, though at hearing Rusaku give Bec a marked Kunai, he thought it was a great idea, taking out a plain looking kunai that was marked and offering it to Yoshi,"Here, this is just in case things go sour."

Once they'd had made a bit of distance between themselves and the other two, Athos would speak to the man with him,"So, what should our game-plan be? It's a big thing but it did look top heavy."

Chikitada proceeded along to the right of Athos until the point in which he could view the beast towering to an incredible height in the distance. His hunting birds were circling round in the sky beyond the creatures opposite flank as though seeking other prey upon the further slopes of the land. The elder Yoshi took the marked kunai silently and placed it within his utility belt thoughtfully pondering the words of his fellow hunters.

"Hamstringing him, bringing him down to size, seems like it would work to our advantage. As you say, he seems top heavy." The elderly swords master had a few tricks up his voluminous sleeves. His hands would come to fall upon the hilts of his matching swords. For a creature of ice, his ability with Katon would serve him well this day. And having trained and unlocked the secret techniques of releasing the inner gates within his body, he could far exceed what one would imagine his aged body could in the way of speed, power, and durability.

He caught the kunai and looked at it briefly before putting it away in a pouch. "Thanks. Though, if things go rough for you, don't hesitate to evac out of there. But if that'll be plan B, then I'll be ready for it too." As they moved, he planned to distance himself away from the group. "If we're still going with the pincer tactic, I'll get into position and start the distraction. Chikitada, can you communicate with your birds from a distance? We'll need a signal for when you're ready, so a bird call might be the safest bet." He turned his attention to the trees around them. Evergreens. Would work well for what he had in mind.

Rusaku would nod lightly, ready to begin this hunt for real.

Suddenly the man would dash forward, his cloak fluttering as he moved. He could no longer waste time with the beast just on the horizon, it’s immense size still a concern for trying to conjure something to fight on par with it.

With a graceful leap, Rusaku would come to land on a boulder slightly larger than the others in the immediate vicinity, to which he would take a seated position, legs crossed with hands folded within his lap. With a controlled exhale, his ancient chakra would begin to pulsate within, before it would emanate from every tenketsu, becoming visible to the naked eye as it danced around his body, creating a cyan aura. Within his mindscape, a voice would ring out;

“Oh, so you think I’m gonna lend you chakra for this after those big words?” The beetle would heckle

“You know if I was still able to use Sage mode, something like this would be simple for me. I need your help right now Chomei. Plus we agreed that you would bail me out of situations like this!” The Otsutsuki would give a toothy grin to his partner, knowing all too well how this would end.

“You know kid, sometimes you are a thorn in my side.” The massive beast would say jokingly.

Now, the once Cyan chakra would begin to turn a dark crimson as the 7 tails would begin to influence his chakra’s potency.

(Turn one of charging chakra. Will be ready by the start of the round after the next.)

Honestly, there wasn't much to say about the beast still... It just kept walking. But it was slowly starting to clear the mountain and soon the people would be able to be seen... That'd be bad.

Athos would start to move into a fast job, assuming the man would be able to keep up with the pace. Seeing as Athos was forty-two, he didn't think anything lesser of the man with them because he looked older. Athos would take a deep breath, rolling his shoulders,"What angle should we try to go in at? If you really want to aim to hamstring him, then we should try to stay close to the ground."

Chikitada felt this would be a fairly good idea. Typically colossal creatures were weak against those of their size due to a failure to see notice the ants milling about their own feet. Hopefully the terrain would continue to accommodate them by providing a reasonable measure of cover.  "From the rear, naturally. I get the feeling every second is going to count."

Giving Becquerel a thumb's up, he too would have rev'ed up the speed a bit to keep pace with Athos. Internally he was informing his hunting birds of the current plans and to sound off once they began their rush.

Becquerel would smile as the plan would come into fruition. Of course, he'd wait for a signal once everyone was in position to perform his attack. "I'm good right here, you get where you gotta get." He got into a position far from the monster, but it never left his sights.

He wrapped his hands around the trunk of a great evergreen and uprooted it almost effortlessly. His right hand's fingers dug into the bark as he held the large tree in one hand, his position resembling that of an Olympian readying to toss a javelin. "Mokuton: Sashiki no Jutsu!" is what he would say before launching the tree at the signal of his team-mates. Of course, no chakra was involved in this technique (if you could even call it a technique). The tree would speed towards the air and hopefully hit it's target, the monster's right eye.

In the next few second, they would learn a few things about the giant beast. One of those things is that, just like Yoshi had thought, the beast would have failed to notice them thanks to their size. But it also showed just how alert and smart it was, though not too much. As the tree came to meet it's right eye, as most normal people, it saw the projectile out the corner of it's eye. So it would turn to face it and cause Bec's technique(because it's awesome enough to be called that), would not hit it's goal. Instead, it'd crash against right between it's eyes. What this also revealed was the slight density of the beast's skin, seeing no open would be created at the contact. But it did work to royally piss it off.

It released a scream that would be human if it didn't shake the whole ground violently around them, and hurt the ears of anyone who did it. It's eyes scanned the area which it guessed the tree came from and, though it seemed to squint slightly, it didn't take long before it'd find Bec. This time it released a battlecry before turning suddenly and moving to start towards Bec. As it turned, that would mean its front would be facing Athos and Yoshi now and, actually, as it took it's first step it threatened to unknowingly crush the two of them.

And for it's size, the beast moved and reacted surprisingly fast.

There was something about the way a shadow would now be covering him and his partner. If he didn't think the man with him could handle himself, he'd grab him and haul him into safety. But instead of doing something like that, Athos increased his own speed and turned on his feet so that he'd be running towards the back of the beast and under the foot that threatened to crush him. Of course, in the snow, his feet slipped on a patch of ice that has hidden and the tall man actually would come into a roll and just barely miss being crushed by the foot. The force of the step caused snow to erupt slightly, engulfing Athos and sending him further into a roll. Though he'd end up on his feet at the end, barely, clothes covered in snow.

Despite Chikitada's age, the man moved with slight celerity for he was taking no chances. Liberating Kaimon, the Gate of Opening, the man's restraint upon his considerable muscle mass was released to the point of gaining access to 100% of his ability. He sent forth the signal through his mental link to the hunting birds who immediately set up a piercing cry to the beat's other side. The two birds dove toward the periphery of the giant's head while emitting their attack shrills to try and draw its attention back from the direction of their master and Athos and toward themselves. Within the cloak of darkness the elderly man made his advancing move to dart underneath the raised hoof beside Athos.

While the foot came down, nearly crushing the duo, Chikitada bolted upward with a twisting motion on the rising wave of snow toward the back of it's ankle far above them. He viewed the fetlock twitching from the tremor of that great limb hitting the ground, being in a position to face the back of the ankle, and drew both his swords in a cross handed fashion. The force of his muscles lashed outward and up as he cut at the tendon of the mighty beast with all the power they contained. With his right hand directing the scoring lash of the blade he wielded slightly above that which the left would attempt, he directed the upward slashes with skill and deadly intent. He did not cause his blades to ignite with katon for stealth was still the aim, however the might of those dual blows would surely sever that tight band of the brute's Achilles tendon if they should strike true.

But one chance was given, in that quick rush of time, for the rise of the snow would carry him back and away. With a somersault in the air, he landed back on the ground, his right knee pressed into the snow and his blades stretched out behind him with head bowed to the ground. The rush of battle filled his body and rejuvenated his soul once more. Surely a close observer might catch the glimpse of the edges of his mustache rising from the grin of delight upon his lips.

Becquerel covered his eyes with a hand as he watched the beast yell out in anger after the attack connected, leaving nothing more than a splintered tree and angry monster.
"Oh, he doesn't seem to happy. That's not good. Well, I gotta get up there."
After the beast yelled out in anger, its eyes quickly locked onto Becquerel. It was most likely the sun reflecting off his shiny scalp that gave away his position. Either that or his billowing cape. Regardless of what it was that put him in the eyes of the beast, he stood fast as the monster moved towards him. It wasn't because he knew what Chikitada's actions were to be, it was mainly because he wanted to observe this monster's movements. It was extremely familiar to the motions of a human, only scaled up an innumerable amount of times.
Because he volunteered himself to be the distraction, he would wait for the monster to get closer as he dropped one shield face up onto the ground as the other he held like a discus. A strange blue shimmer seemed to fill up the face of the shield.
If Chikitada's attack was successful and the monster were to fall, it would only make his shield throw require less ground to cover.

With a grunt Rusaku would send out a pulse of powerful chakra as his body would become fully enveloped in dark red chakra, 7 tails of red bubbling chakra would sprout from his back whilst flapping wildly through the air. Suddenly the tails would become absorbed into his body once more, before the entire area would begin to rumble with a terrible force.

With a confident smile, Rusaku’s eyes would open just as two massive hands of mokuton would erupt on either side, embedding themselves into the nearby rock formations. Displaying an awesome power, those hands would begin to claw forward, dragging behind them the reminder of a colossal body of mokuton.

Scars would be made in the earth as this goliath raised to it’s full form, standing at approximately chest height to the monster before them. Once the dust had settled from it’s creation, Rusaku could be standing atop it’s head with his arms folded over his chest. Immediately the entire crew would be able to see Thousands of hands  that originate from the statue's back in countless concentric rows, while its two main hands are clasped, as if in prayer.

Dirt would fall to the ground as if in slow motion as the avatar shifted it’s head to look upon the giant. Obviously, Rusaku was winded from creating something so large. He had never attempted something this big before, and the overload of Biju chakra wore him out especially. Cursing his own weakness, the youth would push forward.

Should the old man’s attack work, Rusaku would be more than happy to aid in that giant’s decent. Stretching his arm out to the beast before him, the arms of his avatar would fire forth like rockets, aiming to impact the beast’s chest in an attempt to absolutely overwhelm it. Though he made certain that none of his attack would come to hit his party, using the Byakugan to solidify his aim.

There was a lot that had happened to the beast suddenly, and it became painfully aware that it was under attack. It's ankle stung suddenly, but it was a pain that felt like getting a small paper cut. Of course, it's durability would be shown in the wound, no blood coming from it despite the distance that the blades managed to strike. Their target wasn't missed, per se, but it was as though they couldn't make it deep enough.

But before it could even plan it's counter for the ants near it's feet, the beast assuming that the man were behind him since that was where he was struck, from the ground came something that was an impressive size. But seeing the amount of fists that was about to strike it, the temperature around them shifting to fall slowly, the skies above seeming to dark slightly and a fall of snow started.

What happened next could be categorized as unexpected, seeing that the large beast actually crossed it's arms over it's chest and took the incoming strikes. As they all came to meet where it's arms was crossed, the monster braced it's knees and took the shot.

It drove it backwards backwards, a distance almost the size of the mountain the beast was towering over. But this also meant that it's large feet aimed to slide over both Athos and Chikitada, rolling over them like a bulldozer. Of course, even if they dodged the feet, the snow and earth torn up as the beast was pushed threatened not only to engulf them but to also blind them.

And, last but not least was Bec's attack that had actually struck. The shield, it thrown and wherever it was thrown at and not blocked by the beast's defense, managed to struck against it's target. The small object went unnoticed but the sudden appearance of the giant monk thing that threatened to clobber it.

All of what was happening suddenly made Athos take in a deep breath. He had just regained his balance and was running out from behind the beast before everything went into motion. He didn't make it out the way, not fully. As the beast was pushed backwards, Steam Exploded from the man's Tutumen on his limbs and he flew upwards, so avoid being crushed, also throwing himself backwards at an angle. This decreased the forced of impact as he'd slap against the calf of the large humanoid figure, clinging nearly for dear life as he was carried backwards on the beast.

As he was plowed aside it became evident that opening the first gate was clearly not enough power to cut through the hide of the creature's heel to reach to the deeply buried tendon. At that moment, however, what he needed was speed and immediately. Chikitada would open Shōmon, the 4th gate of pain. Tumbling across the ground, a great surge of energy was activated within the elderly warrior turning his skin red, patches of skin lifting from the surface in random places about his body to let the blood seep forth. And then he shot toward the beast in such a blur that those with un-enhanced vision would be unable to track his movements. Literally ping-ponging about the body of the colossus, he drew he sword and surged his katon through the blades to light them on fire. Only the glow of those blades leaving arcs of afterglow from their flames would make it possible to trace his path. His trail up the leg of the beast would see him lash out with his blades at the back of the ankle and knee, the thigh, curving round to its right side, striking at its kidney, racing round its expansive abdomen attempting to score half a dozen other blows from the twin blades before jettisoning toward its throat.

Becquerel smiled warmly as he saw the shield get jammed into the skin of the monster's abdomen. Time for the follow u-..Well, his plan would end up changing as Rusaku's assault connected with the beast. Hundreds of fists struck the monster, and several of them managed to land directly on top of the shield. Normally, a shield would have crumpled under such a force, but his shields were built of an extremely tough alloy. The strikes just ended up embedding the shield under the monster's skin like a small, circular splinter.

He observed the movements of his partners and tried to guess what they were up to. A slight change would have been able to be observed in his eyes as a sort of 'radar-like' display appeared. Though he was unable to witness Chikitada's movements visually, his mind was able to process and track the speed demon. He was hoping that if the man was unable to pierce the skin, he would at least distract the beast for what was coming next.

A panel opened up on both of his forearms, revealing several strange and metal objects. A disk slid out of both compartments into his hands before the panel closed again. He pressed and held down small buttons on both disks, activating the timed explosion that was enough to level a small two-story home. He then approached the downed shield and looked into it, a wall seemed to look back at him. In truth, he was looking beneath a few layers of the monster's skin where the other shield lay.

He then jammed both of the disks into the skin of the beast before shutting off the matter transportation function in the shield. This would ensure that none of the explosion would be wasted. Hopefully, in a few seconds, a doorway would open up to the creature's abdominal cavity that the others could crawl into to do some damage. He looked at the monster from afar with a hand shielding his eyes and a smile on his face. "This will be interesting. I wonder if it'll work."

Rusaku was so exhausted from the last technique, his strain under more stress than he thought... So he retreated without a word.(He dropped out >>; So, yeah.)

The beast was starting to have a really bad day. Wounds appeared upon it's body, though none deadly. The back of the ankle shed an odd colored blood, a light blue color, just a few shades deeper than it's skin. The blow against the back of it's knee caused it to buckle just faintly, though not enough to take it down fully. The blades cut into it's skin, drawing more blood as the kidney area was struck, although not deep enough to actually hit the internal organ. The marks on it's chest had blood drawn as well, but like a deep thin cut. Of course, at the time that Yoshi was getting on the upper part of it's chest, Bec's weapons would explode, splattering out the odd color blood as the wound was created. Of course the beast wasn't equipped to fight against technology like that, almost the hole wasn't the size that Bec hoped for, seeing as it was more like the size of a manhole compared to the door and the depth of 2 and half yards. The beast screamed in pain, it's arms that were blocking it's chest coming to swipe down it's body, aiming to swat Yoshi down with enough force to crush his body, and swipe at the pain in it's abdomen.

Of course, a lot was suddenly happening on the field and to keep up with it all, Athos would rely on his Mind's Eye of the Kagura. Seeing Yoshi successful draw blood, as well as Bec, he would decide to capitalize on the moment. Seeing as the beast would come to a halt, especially when it's leg started to buckle, Athos would attack then. He would follow Yoshi's example, calling on the power of the Hachimon, opening the Sixth Gate. Power flowed from his body, his skin turning a deep crimson as well, and he pushed backwards off the leg. He moved in a blur, turning his body and pressing them against a platform of chakra that appeared beneath his feet. Taking a second to actually adjust and lock his eyes onto the wound that Yoshi created on the back of the beast's leg, wanting to see it himself, he smirked before pressing off and darting like a bullet towards it.

Up reaching the back of the knee, his fists would start moving, moving so fast actually that the friction caused them to catch fire. Steam poured through his Tutumen to increase the strength of his punches. As he preformed the Morning Peacock, his blows were aimed towards the gash, each one tearing open the skin further and getting the blows onto the muscles beneath. Of course, this caused a bit of blow to spray out, staining the man's fists and part of his upper and lower body. The blows still hadn't caused something that would be permanent damage, but the strength and sudden pain was enough to cause the knee of the beast to fully buckle. Athos' barrage ended once the beast started to bend as it fell with a roar, scorch marks on his hands.
