It may have been shot down but I was thinking...
Barter's Lane

You walk in to a small alleyway where you see several small shops set up and several questionable characters walk around. A man catches your eye and walks over to you, "Hello i'm Gibbs, and welcome to my Bartering Lane! Feel free to browse through the shops you just may find what your looking for!" With that he walks off scolding someone for trying to sell a "Forbidden Item". You get the feeling that if you try to trade or sell a "Forbidden Item" here you would lose the privilige to come here. You see a sign that says "NO GOLD NO GEMS ONLY TRADES!"
From here there would be a chat area (Similar to any town square). Here you could post what your looking for and what your willing to trade for it. On the side of the page there would be all the listings of the items for sale. Despite Gibbs no gold no gems only trades sign you discover that listing an item costs 100 gold. So be careful with what you list! You would click the item you are looking for and a list of the people selling it would pop up, you would then be prompted to send an mail to the person proposing what you can trade. you may recieve an mail back or you may not thats the price you pay!
Now then, everyone must pay a fee in order to open Barter Lane up, say 3 gems 1000 gold?
Im only proposing this because I dont see anyway this can be exploited.
