Feature Requests / Dice rolls
« on: January 25, 2015, 06:15:46 PM »
I was thinking about the differences between here and most tabletop RPGs, and I realized the clear difference. Here, when people are RPing, they just say whatever they want and people respond unnaturally. Things like god-modding and meta-gaming are buzzwords that are thrown around here often. In order to solve these issues, why not implement a dice rolling function?
That way when NinjaA says 'I attack you with my super-ultimate, undodgeable jutsu' and rolls a 1 while NinjaB rolls a 20 they respond accordingly. Of course, this does not need to be used, but if two people agree to use it then they can be able to. I don't know if you would go with a D20, a D6, a D4, or D#, but it might help out to add fairness to the game.

If so, post examples of what you listen to.
Doesn't matter if it's from video games or regular music. No judging other people's songs negatively. Contribute if you have any.

I just got caught up on FariTale and I was all damn.

Does anyone know if Berserk has been updated recently?

I also need to catch up on AOT

I use to read lots of stuff until life got all buzy as hell.

Fairy Tale is just getting more and more silly. Looks like they're doing a time skip, because every series needs one.

Berserk hasn't updated since Rickert confronted Griffith.

And AoT is alright right now, they left off at a really big cliffhanger.

Why don't we just agree to not use substitution instead of arguing about to what degree or stupid it is?

I figured that was an unsaid agreement and people were just trying to figure out the different kinds of substitutions and how they work.

Being on this site, we know that everyone at least reads/enjoys Naruto. But, what other manga does everyone read or anime does everyone watch?

Except your example wouldn't really work, unless you and the henge'd scroll were falling towards him or something.

Henge, or whatever illusion kawarimi uses, can only alter the shape of whatever its used on. It can't animate it.

So that supports my idea of a poor man's shadow clone.

Like I mentioned earlier, it is likely similar to how it worked when Naruto turned a shadow clone into a shuriken. Still, it's very silly considering it means you were fighting a log, basically.
I like to think of it as the poor man's shadow clone. Basically, instead of creating a clone from nothing, you use an object as a base. But shadow clones are just silly in all aspects anyway, so this just furthers the silliness.

In regards to Becquerel's earlier post, we can say all of that but in the end it's up to the individual how they will RP their "strain/trauma" of using an implanted (E)MS.

Isn't that true? It's just like the pain scale, it's all subjective. I've had patients come in complaining of 10/10 pain when all they had was a staple slightly stuck in their finger. Another guy had his femur shattered (his fault) and said he was about 8/10. So technically, as long as someone truly feels traumatized RP-wise, they could say that their character was traumatized because they left the home with their fly down and suffered crushing embarrassment.

I'd be more interested in banning people being uchiha senju uzumaki hybrids with the all the benefits of being a pure blood member of each clan

If you start banning things, then you just begin down the slippery slope of what is allowable and what isn't though. First it starts out with the biggest problems, then it slowly trickles down to banning any and all little things. It's a fine line you have to walk. But yeah, that does sound pretty overpowered.

Well, make it so that if someone wants EMS through implantation, it'll still be a huge burden chakra-wise. But they would have to have a/two regular sharingan implanted and then have to go through some traumatic event to get the normal MS. Then they would have to implant the eyes of another MS user to get the EMS. That's how it worked, if I remember correctly.

Basicailly, here's how I thought it worked.
S ---Trauma--> MS
MS + someone else's MS = EMS

Didn't Kakashi say that using the eyes caused a huge strain on him because he was not an Uchiha? I mean, we probably have to look past the end of the manga when the huge power creep occurred and somehow a tired Kakashi was able to use Susanoo. But if we considered the end of the manga, there were explosions that occurred that made Konoha look like a pinhead. It was like Dragon Ball Z at that point.

Use an illusionary technique to disguise the log or scroll or whatever you decide to use. It doesn't seem like the substitute stays faked for very long, so it would probably require a diversionary tactic first to use properly, hence why it fell out in usage in battles where distractions were not aplenty.

I always figured it worked similarly to how Naruto disguised one of his clones as a fuuma shuriken.

This. Pain before Nagato got TNJ'd was pretty boss. The back story behind him was cool, too.

Didn't he also take out Hanzo? I think it was off-panel, but still, that says something about the guy's strength. It makes you also kind of wonder what happened to the original Akatsuki that he formed and what caused it to become what it was later in the manga.

Personally, I say go with both so that it isn't limited to just bad guys. Good guys can and do have bounties as well. I wouldn't make it into some electronic device, though. Make it a book that updates when you add chakra to it or something. The information can be placed as pinned topic on this board and be monitored and updated by Kay, Ace, myself, or any other mod. I'm not quite sure how you'd factor subterfuge into it, but I'm sure we could work something out. Just thought I'd give my two cents.

I think the reason for that is because people want to make it accessible to everyone. Carrying around a little device would be less cumbersome than carrying around a book, I believe. And it would make more sense to plug in this device to update it instead of somehow updating a book I think. At least, with the current idea that's how it is. And I also support bad guys being able to put hits on good guys too. Spread the wealth.

Well I for one will start manufacturing these fancy things, and will make quite a profit off them. My village does specialize in paper and metals after all. I'll even call for a kage summit in proposition to it. If I get enough nods to go ahead with the summit, then we'll be in IC discussion of these things.

Also, Ninja Info Cards are apparently claimed. So this is our next best, and fun, thing. The main purpose of this was to put out a cross-nation bingo book. But a ninja-profiling database is also a fun idea too.

That leaves me wondering though, what the thoughts of all the current kage are on this.

I would offer to help to manufacture them, but I wouldn't produce them for a profit. With my lab, it would be easy to produce them as I stated earlier. But, because I'm not a key player and not well known like a lot of you, I think that you guys will just go on your own.
