Title: French translations.
Post by: KingCyrus on December 07, 2006, 01:44:45 AM
I wouln't have a hard time translating in french. It's actually the main language I speak. I don't think I have time to do EVERYTHING unless you give me ALOT of time. So, yeah, if there are some people who can help, that would be excellent.

Though it will be canadian french (Montreal), not french french (very little difference).

We can live with that =)
and I deliberately opened threads to see _how many_ people there will be to translate that stuff =)

I know it is much work, and so we need not to start without a few guys for a new language =)

Ok then, I guess we wait. By the way, there will be no coding whatsoever? You give me the text, I translate and I send it back, right? :P

Well, you go in the game, find nice little "T" boxes everywhere, and once you click them, you see the original text and can add your translation.

Or you can go the Translation Wizard(TM by Neji) to translate faster with more texts involved and also "module-wise".

Hey all!  I would also like to help.  Even though I am new here. I enjoy playing this game very much, and would like to contribute to it.  I'm bilingual (french-english).  French is also my first language.

Et bien... juste pour vous donnez une petite idée, voici un petit extrait de ce que ressemble mon français.

En passant: J'aime une chocolate avec lait.   Ça ne se dit pas =)

Ideally, it would be something like this:
J'aime manger (to eat) du chocolat avec du lait.  Chocolate is always masculine :)
I like to eat chocolate with milk.

But your sentence would be ; J'aime un chocolat avec _du_ lait.

However... for elementary level, thats not bad at all! :)  Not enough people speak french =p

KingCyrus, es-tu un montréalais?  Je reste au Nouveau-Brunswick :)

Laissez-moi savoir si jamais vous avez besoin de mon aide.  Présentement, je travaille quand même à plein temps, mais je serais prêt à consacrer quelques heures par semaine à la traduction.  J'adore traduire =).  J'espère qu'il n'est pas trop tard pour appliquer, heh.

I knew a bit of spanish at one point also, but definitely not enough to translate, or communicate in any manner, now that I think of it =P.  P*ta!

Abyss; Como tallly vu?

Looks spanish to me.  Although french and spanish have several similarities, in french it would be: Comment allez vous?

Nouveau-Brunswick? La province bilingue, pas vrai?

T'as l'air d'être très bon.  :)

Ton aide sera appréciée.

Actually, it's "comment allez-vous", but it's no big deal. :P

Lets not get into the hyphenations! =P

Yeah, yeah.  Je savais ça.  Mais c'est vrai que je ne l'avais pas mis (par exprès!).  Oui, effectivement, le Nouveau-Brunswick est _la_ province bilingue.  C'est dommage que le Canada en entier ne l'est pas.

Mais de toute façon, it's a moot point isn't it? =P

Ooooh!  Le franglais!  The language of legends.  Its okay if you don't know what I'm talking about =p

I am willing to translate all so Neji , can i help you guys to ?
Title: Re: French translations.

The french translation is kinda on hold right now, simply because I have no more time for this now (I only translated a little amount until now). However, I doubt Neji will mind you translating.

But first, translate loosely what you said in a way that I can believe that your french skills are good enough.

I wanted to join the translations in French.
At the moment, i have a lot of free time, so I'm trying to work a lot until school begins.
I'm 17 and from Luxemburg; there you begin learning French at the age of 8, so I have a lot of experiences in that language.
I started learning English 5 years ago. I know, that's not a lot, but lately I've been reading al lot of English stuff and watching English episodes an so on, so I made a lot of progress.
Summary: I'd really like to try xD

I know this is a very old topic but does that mean there is no way to become a French translator?
