Title: Mail limiter
Post by: Neji on November 19, 2006, 11:59:13 PM
well, as I received today another petition about "I cannot see my mails" and had one guy who had 800 in his inbox and the same problem a few weeks ago, and now this one had 1000 mails there...

I decided to regulate that.

You can now have 200 mails in your inbox ... after that, nobody (except a superuser who might need to) can send you mails.

You will be notified if you have only 10% space left in your mailbox there. Then you will see how many mails you can receive.

Also, now, if you have over 200, you will see how many you need to delete in order to receive new mail.

No, they read the mails, reply, and just leave them there to rot until the limit of 14 days is exceeded.

If you didn't realize this... Read it here:

You will no longer be able to receive messages from players if you have more than 35 unread messages in your inbox.
Messages are automatically deleted (read or unread) after 14 days.

Heh, I have never had that many mails before. I think I have 35, mostly from the system, that are currently rotting in there...I really should clear them out.

My mailbox aside, this is a good idea. It'll get people to clean out their inboxes every now and again.

lol, this is fine with me - I try to keep my emails under 100 anyway.

NOTE TO ALL

If you want to keep your old emails, simply copy & paste them to your hard drive in word, notepad, etc...

If this will improve the speed, then it is a must-do...

Trust me, this was a very good idea.
With the way I send mails back and forth with people..it actually builds up alot quicker then one may think. ._.;

i was beginning to go to the same way... but if the restriction speeds up the system, then no problem.

The idea of a download button is very good, neji, but copy & paste the mails to a notebook file is very easy and fast to do, i wouldn't create the button (just an opinion)
