I caught the idea as Gyururu translated Chinese parts of an anime.
Basically, this game is "translation ready" ... though the original module parts are already translated from the "Green Dragon" stuff to the Naruto theme.
Also, after the reformat of the server a few weeks ago, I think we can setup all UTF-8 supported languages ... so basically quite a few. (I have some Korean translations for the Green Dragon here i.e. as there is also a Korean server).
I think there is no Chinese server ... (might be due to the harsh restrictions on the internet for Chinese people).
Well, basically, if there are a couple of people (reliable ones) here that want to make translations to their native (or at least fluent) language, then post here.

I thought it auto translated neji? :?:
-
It auto translates after you first write the translations ^.^
And anyway, if you use one of those free auto translators on the web you'll never get it correct ^.^
You could hire a translator though ^.^

This idea seem great for everyone considering I knowq spanish. Maybe special Translator mods should be requested for every language. This is only a suggestion of cource if we have Global Translator Mods if anything.
-
Gohan. ;)

I know Gohan.
I wonders how he going play in the game because his grammar is low.
I rather not reply him when i received his mail for begging donation points. :P

My name pops out of Neji's mouth again O_O
-
I'm brazilian, so I can help with Brazilian Portuguese, which has some difference from Portuguese from Portugal.
-
btw, one little question neji, the translation would require coding or just translation of the text?
-
Well, you go in the game, find nice little "T" boxes everywhere, and once you click them, you see the original text and can add your translation.
Or you can go the Translation Wizard(TM by Neji) to translate faster with more texts involved and also "module-wise".
No coding involved, yet you need to know what a replacement for a variable is.
Example:
%s`3 was found dead in the forest.
then you can safely assume that %s is the player name...
You lost %s gold.
then %s is the amount of gold lost.
You need to keep the %s in your translation, or we will lose the data from there which is not outputtet anymore.

Translation Wizard? a translation program? Please, i beg you not to use them, not only in spanish, in any language. Their translations are pathetic. Let's see two examples:
Spanish sentence:
El gato está comiendo patatas, pescado y carne, lo que significa que es omnívoro
Real translation:
The cat is eating potatoes, fish and meat, which means that he's omnivorous
Translation Wizard translation:
The cat is beginning chips fish and beef i what significa what is omnivoro
Another one, this time in english:
I beg you not to use them
Real translation:
Te ruego/suplico que no los uses
Translation Wizard translation:
Io rogar usted not to use them (belive me, that's not spanish, that's not even a language)
Please, if you don't want me to help, no problem, but that's and incredible game that deserves the best translation possible to all the available languages. By the way, the translation method that you said looks very easy to do :D
-
=) no, it does not translate for you, it only helps you by making "original" -> " translation" more easy to enter.
i.e. you have multiple sentences from one module on a page, you can search for a sentence you know who needs to be fixed and much more...
it will not influence what you enter, it just makes it more comfortable.
-
thanks to the rooster goddess lol then i apologize for my reaction if it looked like desperate, i just wanted to explain why not to use the translation programs :?: :P
-
I could help with french or chinese if either are possible
-
if you are confident about your linguistic knowledge, open or join a thread ^^

No im not(sorry for takin so long to answer), I m the same as Davi(really shocked though to find out there r other brazilians playing Shinobi Legends)
so i can help with Brazilian Portuguese of course, French(did three years, and plan to have more classes) and spanish(not really confident about it cuz it been ages since i talked it with some1 other than my granps)
-
neji, have you decided if you are going to translate?
-
from the amount of people. the spanish translations might be worth a shot.
-
from the amount of people. the spanish translations might be worth a shot.
you might be sure of it, boss! ;) i've know only 3 or 4 spanish people in the game, but i've known a lot of spanish talkers, so i'm sure it would be very welcome (we dominate english, but it's better and nicer to read and play in your familiar language, and i'm not talking only about the spanish talkers ;D ) As you say
-
Gee, I really wanted to translate here. My friends who aren't english speakers would come to play. Pity there is no demand for polish translation -,-'
-
Yes, more than a handful are needed, you also have to think of:
-> upkeeping the translations, fixing, etc
-> updating for new modules
-> translators may leave / expire
etc
-
Yeah, i got ur point. But personally im not thinking about quiting being anime fan ^_~
Still it can't be helped, when there is not enough ppl to translate / interested in helping, even to HAVE game in polish.
-
i can do Italian.
-
i think we should vote on every language that has more then five translators available. That way we won't translate languages that noone will use
-
i know someone agrees, and yes, i am bumping this topic by double posting, get over it :P
-
Basically, I see the current situation as "testing"
