Title: Badnav bug
Post by: Kevin on November 07, 2006, 12:54:32 PM
Last night, I entered my dwelling and logged off. This morning, I logged in. The New Day page showed up, but when I clicked continue, it took me to the badnav page. Aside from that, it kept trying to load a blank bad nav page at least 500 times. The only way out of this was to close out my browser, but when I log back in, the same thing happens again. So I keep getting blank badnav pages with no way out of it.

Mkay. The badnav should be fixed now.

There is a major badnav going on now. I'm not able to access the mailbox, dwellings, clan halls, forest fights, the founatin, & encounters while traveling to different countries. I know other people are having this problem also right now.

As announced, I was about fixing a routing issue today.

you all login using http://shinobilegends.com
right?

I just tested it and all went smoothly, very fast and stable.

Though I installed apache2 and php today again, since that time the routing to the database server is working properly... or ... well.... at least that's what I experience...

If you have problems, well... where could they be, there are more guys affected.

So, can ANYBODY else login? any? body?

Ok using the above link, I cannot login at all.

If I use www. prefix - I can login, but a lot of the sections & modules have badnav errors, let me know what other information you need.

It's not about the modules, they're alright.

I can log in. But I also get the badnav page. The window keeps flashing and saying Opening page shinobilegends/badnav.
Can't go to my mail.
It just says <input id='checkbox6' type='checkbox' name='msg[]' value='1129871 at the bottom.
I tried reporting, but I don't know if it went through. The report box is just plain white with done at the bottom window screen.

I am able to leave this page, but then the page goes into an automatic refresh mode... I am not able to stop it unless I press escape or the alt button for some reason - I'm also not able to set up a new character. All I get is a white screen, nothing else....
Title: Re: Badnav bug
Post by: PyroPrinny on November 07, 2006, 05:15:08 PM
No, I was able to leave the page. But sometimes I have a hard time leaving the badnav page because it's like the page keeps refreshing. It was just somthing that happened that I found interesting. I'm still having trouble with my mail (it's only showing a few letters), but if it goes blank again, I will take a picture of that and the error along with it.

sorry buddy for the bad news.
I know cannot access the staff entry page at all, I'm getting a:

 The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please try the following:

Click the  Refresh button, or try again later.

If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly.

To check your connection settings, click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On the Connections tab, click Settings. The settings should match those provided by your local area network (LAN) administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).
See if your Internet connection settings are being detected. You can set Microsoft Windows to examine your network and automatically discover network connection settings (if your network administrator has enabled this setting).
Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options.
On the Connections tab, click LAN Settings.
Select Automatically detect settings, and then click OK.
Some sites require 128-bit connection security. Click the Help menu and then click About Internet Explorer to determine what strength security you have installed.
If you are trying to reach a secure site, make sure your Security settings can support it. Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On the Advanced tab, scroll to the Security section and check settings for SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0, PCT 1.0.
Click the  Back button to try another link.

For me there is a white blank screen and in the top left hand corner it says "Sending you to , have a safe journey."

What's that supposed to mean and what do I do?  :-?

nothing really, right now I enabled the maintenance mode, so you can't go anywhere.

I am waiting for the datacenter response.

This is all that I see:

Down for Maintenance

The server is currently suspended for maintenance
We apologise for any inconvenience, but for the moment, this server is undergoing maintenance. It should be accessible again soon.

Click here to check on the server status, or press Refresh in your browser.
Since we're working on maintenance, maintenance will go quicker if you don't refresh or click that link as quick as you can, as this'll use fewer system resources. So check once a minute or so, but don't kill us with checking every 2 seconds please.

smells & sounds like a network connection problem.

the server is running, serving what gets in, yet almost nothing is coming in

give it a few minutes, normally it sorts itself out.

(99% is 99%... and if you take one month, 1% is some time for outtages)

What do you mean "creating new threads about the same issue" ? There was only this one and some other old topics. And I take "it was sooo hard for you to see if someone else already started something" as an insult. I don't really feel like flipping through four pages of text to see if my problem is already in here. I just *have* to get my two cents in...

And my defense rests with Leaf.

@Kboogi: Hasn't been fun? Try doing it for a couple of months and then talk to me. Look.. I'm not getting on your case but *everybody* knows I'm probably the most high-strung person here. And look at me. I don't go around.. rabidly on my first few days as a moderator lashing out at people. I don't mean to sound rash, but lighten up a little bit.

Being a bit shovey and acting like an ass gets you nowhere. I know, trust me. And you don't want the same punishment I received. So just relax. You haven't even experienced a fourth of the problems yet. And, I'll say again, deal with problems for two months, and then I might let you be stressed. I'm stressed nearly everyday, but I try to keep it level headed now.

Leaf's a good kid... And it seems as if it's rare for him to be angry. He jokes around a lot, and probably doesn't mean to be heated. So just chill, Kboogi... Really.

I wouldn't like to see a friend have the same thing happen to them as was done to me.

I rest my case.
